I'm personally not a fan of Yelp ( everything is a personal preference, what you didn't like somebody else might love and vice versa) but I wanted to leave a review for Wildflower because I love it here. I live down the street so me and my family come here at least once a week and I've never left disappointed. FIRST OF ALL, this place is small, so stop complaining about having to wait. Do you expect them to create space out of thin air? If you come for brunch on a Saturday and moan about having to wait for a table, then you clearly don't go out to eat often. SECOND, because it's small, and they get busy, I don't believe they have server sections like most restaurants, I get the impression that the staff wait on everybody and help out whenever it's needed, so it's common to have a few different servers. I always get the pesto chicken sandwich, I am a pesto chicken fiend, and I have yet to find anywhere that does it better than Wildflower. I also partake in a little chocolate chip pancake action occasionally, and they too are heavenly. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, (talking to all divas that write snotty yelp reviews) this is a cafe. Hence the name. So if you want to be waited on hand and foot with gourmet food, and valet parking, head to Mastros. Wildflower is cute and relaxed with tasty food, and attentive hard working staff. I have come here with pretty much every member of my family, and extended family, and I have yet to hear a bad word said about it. Everything is always delicious, and I consistently leave stuffed full of good food (and diet coke). I recently moved to Redondo Beach and Wildflower Cafe is one of my new favorite spots. Yes, they are very crowed on the weekends but it is worth the wait. The service is great and the food is AMAZING. I been there so many times that when I walk in they know I would like to sit outside and they bring me my iced tea (which is probably the best ice tea I ever had), they are very friendly and attentive which I appreciate. The parking is mostly street parking but the vibe of the place is welcoming and comfortable. read more

Food was excellent and you get a lot for what you pay for. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. A waitress took our drink orders. After waiting a while and seeing people at other tables who ordered after us get their drinks, we assumed that our order got lost (which happens, no biggie). The problem was the person making the drinks was incredibly rude to my friend when she asked about them. Furthermore, we were basically serviced by two waitresses the entire time, which made things confusing. When we told one waitress we wanted to split the check, she said she would get it done. I guess she never told our other waitress who rung us up because the check was not split. When we asked if she could split it, she was extremely rude about it, acting like we were causing unnecessary trouble when, in my opinion, asking to split a check is a completely reasonable request. In fact, I find it rude when an establishment assumes we all want everything on one check without asking (something that happens quite often in California). As good as the food was, it's unlikely that I'll ever return on my own. read more

I just discovered this gem of a place and have been there four times this month. The worst thing about it is the parking, but then welcome to Redondo Beach. Everything else is delightful - kind and thoughtful staff, the best hot chai latte in town, great salads and excellent brunch-type food. There is not a better place in town to sit back, enjoy the sun and the other guests. This place is delicious for breakfast. I've never been for lunch, but it always provides a cozy brunch experience. It is a little off the wall with its bright colors and fun dishes. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Our food came out very well too. We didn't have to wait to long, but it didnt' come out super fast either - a nice leisurely pace. Went in today for brunch for the first time and wasn't disappointed. The food is delicious and came quick even though it was fairly busy. I ordered the Egg Bruschetta and loved it. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and I felt it needed a little more flavor but overall it was tasty. I ordered a cappuccino and I love that they make it to order, it came hot and delicious. They even added caramel when I asked, free of charge! I enjoyed my first time and will definitely be back. Definitely recommend. read more

This place is horrible! We waited 20 minutes to be seated, which was reasonable. However, we waited more than an hour and never got our food. The waitress told us that there was a mistake and forgot to put our order in. :( Was this place worth that much to wait? We will never know. After my mom and I finished drinking our coffee, we just took off. It totally ruined my day. Yelp usually never lets me down, but they did this time. Such a bummer because I had such high hopes. I don't know if they were having an off day or what, but when I walked in at 8:30 on a Saturday morning, there was NO wait at all. My wife and I shared the combo, 2 eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage and 2 blueberry pancakes. I should have known something was up with the pancakes came out steaming hot. They sat on the plate and steam came off of them for at least 5 minutes. They were burning hot. One bite and I KNEW they were microwaved. Pancakes do not come off the grill steaming hot and they were so tough. Just horrible pancakes. I could have made better pancakes with a mix from the dollar store. The eggs tasted very weird too. Grainy, like they were frozen eggs. The potatoes were bland as all get out, I never salt restaurant food, but I had to here. This was just a very bad breakfast overall. Sad I wasted my money. I notice from the pics that the eggs from the egg Benedict are all exactly the same. I don't think they are poaching them in water. They are just too perfect. read more

Small places like this can be intimidating for parents to bring kids. We brought our 4 year old and 20 month old for a late breakfast and the service was fantastic! Wildflower Cafe is officially my new favorite breakfast spot! Living in Redondo Beach, I have ventured to many other breakfast/brunch restaurants in the area, this one one by far surpasses in food, ambiance & service. It is a little restaurant on the PCH, parking lot is nonexistent but you can always find street parking. We usually sit inside, but sat outside for a change on a beautiful sunny morning. I typically like to eat a healthy breakfast & Wildflower Cafe has many options to fit your dietary needs. I have ordered the Florentine Benedict, Bruschetta Eggs with Whole Wheat Toast & my fiance has ordered the Feta Burger. The Bruschetta Eggs was amazing! The tomatoes were seasoned well, the bread was soft, served with perfectly cooked potatoes. The portion was just right, I could eat the whole thing without feeling like I'm about to burst. My fiance commented that the Feta Burger was the BEST burger he has ever eaten..that says alot for a male that eats burgers regularly! I cant wait to come back here again & again to try all their menu items...my guess is that you cant go wrong! read more

I have been coming here on and off for two and a half years, they have a special latte that I am very fond of. Everyone is friendly and nice, but the service at the tables is never that fast or reliable and the food isn't great. But today it was just strike 3, I came in with my boyfriend and we were seated after a reasonable wait, the host (I think) took our drink order but our drinks showed up at different times. The server was in an obvious rush and took half of my boyfriends order and walked away before he could finish! When he got his food the bun was crushed down on the burger, it was well done, and no flavor at all. I would have said something about the food to the server but we would have had to wait another 30 minutes for them to fix it. The server came back and only filled my coffee when our waters were empty and never came back to fill them. I finally got so over it I got up from the table, paid upfront and left. read more

This is a great little breakfast-brunch cafe. The wait was a bit long, but normal for a breakfast-brunch restaurant. We were a party of six and waited 45 minutes, it was expected. The location itself is very (very) small, but nice. They have inside area and outdoor patio. The outdoor patio is heated, we sat outside on a sunny 73 degree day. Overall the atmosphere is very laid back and calm. The food was delicious and fair priced. I ordered the french toast with a side of potatoes. The french toast were good, and the potatoes were very well seasoned. It was more than enough food. Some people from my party ordered a few other sides but did not receive them with their entree. We brought it to their attention twice. They finally brought them out once we were finishing up. We were a bit unhappy about this, but they did not charge us for it and were very apologetic. Saw the reviews, noticed a long line and figured this would be a sure thing - not the case. The food and ingredients were fresh, everything we ordered was just very bland. I had the California omelette, my wife had soup and half sandwich (chx salad). Her soup was very bland too, chicken salad was ok, probably too much mayo for my taste. Service was great, just thought food was borderline flavorless. I noticed they only had turkey bacon & sausage, so perhaps this is just a healthy option breakfast place? I am giving this place 2 stars because of service and performance. We came on a Saturday morning and there were 3 of us. We had to write our name down on a list, even though there were empty tables all inside. I know the patio was full which was okay, but we literally waited 10 minutes for someone to guide us to a table we were already standing by. We gave them a chance because we had heard great reviews of the food and place. So we sat down. We waited another 5 minutes for someone to get us drinks. We ordered coffee and orange juice. The orange juice was really delicious. I think it was fresh squeezed. We waited about another 5-7 minutes just to get our order taken and we were already ready when our drinks came, but the man who helped us wasn't our server. So we waited, and waited. Our server finally came and took our order. She seemed really frazzled. The food came out probably 10-12 minutes later, but we weren't upset or anything, just hungry. The food came out and it was delicious. I wish it had been a little bit hotter though, it was kind of lukewarm. I needed extra hollandaise for my Eggs Benedict which took another minute to get. I also ordered banana walnut pancakes and it just seemed soggy, like they were stuck in the middle. I ate only one, which seemed to be cooked right. We never received our sourdough toast with the oatmeal but were charged anyway. We had already wasted enough time so we just paid for the bill (which took another couple minutes), then left. I would say this place has a lot of potential for greatness if they could hire extra staff and keep up the service. It really was a buzzkill to our morning of shopping at Hermosa Beach. Happened to stumble upon this quaint little cafe while touring LA with my daughter and Wildflower was a gem! From the outside it looks tiny, but once inside, it is a different story. It's a little Narnia-esque in that sense, the door opens to a new world of well planned seating and creative usage of the limited square footage. Beware of the table by the men's bathroom, I'd imagine the number of people having to squeeze through that area would be annoying. Between the indoor and outdoor seating area, a group from 2-6 would be seated reasonably quick. Right away I was greeted by a staff person who helped point out some local favorites and I decided to go with a kids quesadilla, a grilled chicken club lettuce wrap and a grilled chicken Cobb. Everything we tried still tasted great even after a 20 minute car ride. I'm really particular about my chicken because of my health issues and dry chicken is a no-go, but Wildflower's chicken was well-cooked and moist. They took pretty good care to separate the hot from the cold so the salad wouldn't wilt. Big thumbs up there, I'm not a fan when I get home and my salad looks like it's been in emu roasting in the ground for hours. What really stood out to me was their hospitality. Since I was going to order something to go, they let me order and sit at a table which was grateful for. The reason I'm giving Wildflower 3 stars is because of the service. The hostess was sweet and our server was attentive. Unfortunately, that's where the good review ends. This place is so small that you're bumping into everyone sitting and eating on your way to your table. My boyfriends meal looked good...he had the Wildflower Two's (or something to that effect). Two eggs, sausage and blue berry pancakes. He said it was pretty decent but nothing special. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Sigh...I had such high hopes. It was awful. The english muffins were barely toasted and soggy from the Hollands sauce. The salmon looked and tasted old, and if it was smoked you could have fooled me! It tasted cured for sure!! So salty that it was inedible. I literally had to scrap it off...I was so sad. And the cherry on top of this disaster of a meal? My "poached" egg wasn't cooked...milky, runny, gooey egg whites poured out when I cut into my egg...gross. Over all...I was disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. Because the girls who worked there were so nice I might go back and try something else...we'll see. read more

There's only 3 parking spots on the property. I put my party's name on the waiting list, it was a 35 min wait. I asked if I could have a cappuccino togo. The lady responded with "are you on the list?" I told her, "yes I am." She said, "I only serve cappuccinos to seating guest. The only thing I can offer you is house coffee." The next Coffee shop is a half of a mile away. Way to pay attention to your clientele (sarcasm). I understand it's hard to appease every single guest. But if you're running a cafe and can't serve drinks, you have an issue worth paying attention to. While waiting, our 35 min wait turned into close to an hour wait. O__o After I told her we've been waiting for almost an hour, she still didn't offer me a cappuccino. We get seated I ordered my food, the waitress told me it was a dollar charge for mushrooms. Mushrooms should never be a dollar, that is like a 900% mark up. The food comes out and the waitress has all the food stacked in her arms. There is food smashed on the bottom of another plate, which I am sure is AGAINST HEALTH CODE. The server kindly took and replace my toast. The food was good, but I've had better, the denial of espresso while waiting, is what messed it up for me. I most likely won't go back. read more

This place is the perfect breakfast spot. Right down the street from me. My girlfiend and I go here quite often on the weekends when I don't feel like cooking. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here and the meals are very good and fresh ingredients. The owner is super friendly and has such a nice smile. The outdoor patio is nice. Would be better if it was on the beach, but then too many people would know about this place and it would be a pain to go. Right now its perfect since we have never had to wait for a table. The orange juice is SO GOOD and I usually get the Wildflower 2's with the fruit stack. Yeah I know .... FAT ASS. I usually don't finish all of it (lying). It's SO GOOD. Also, you have to try the soups they have... they are always so yummy. I also like the veggie quesidilla. We love finding new places for breakfast - no chain restaurants, please. Wildflower Cafe was a great find. The inside was small - I counted 8 tables - and there is a nice outside patio. We were seated inside right next to a counter filled with baked goods. Even though it was Sunday morning and there was a wait, we didn't have to wait too long. The service was quick, everything was delicious, and the price was reasonable. I need to try everything on the menu, so I'll be back. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more
