I traveled to Arizona from out of town and decided to stop here for lunch. This was my 2nd time eating here and thought everything was great until I went to use the ladies room. I forgot my Fanny pack and went back to my table. Less than 5 minutes, I realized I'd left it in the restroom and rushed to get it. Someone took all of my cash, $200. They left both credit cards. The butternut squash salad is also wonderful and the staff had no problem removing the dairy from the recipe for my order. I also really enjoyed the sea salt and Rosemary loaf of bread that I took Home to use for chili. The bread will keep for about seven days in the fridge. It's important to keep it in the fridge or freezer because they use no preservatives or additives which is wonderful to find! My husband was at CTCA for an overnight stay after surgery. I saw this place on YELP, and went by for a take out order. I got the triple club sandwich. It came with house made chips. When I opened the container, I noticed the chips were thrown over and around the sandwich. Although I think the chips might be very good if served separately in a bag, they were soggy, and most of them inedible. Then I tried the sandwich. The bread was so hard, especially the crust, I threw the edges away. Then I tried the filling. The aioli and veggies were just nasty tasting. So I threw away the top bread, and tried to eat the rest. Two stars strictly for the customer service and cleanliness. My husband and I came in about 12:30p (checked in a bit later), and waited in a long line for about 20 minutes. There was only one staff member checking customers out as we waited, until finally a secondary staff member came up and started helping out as well, as the first person was helping a customer who was going back and forth on the menu and was calling multiple people on her phone, realistically they should've asked her to step aside but they didn't. Once this customer was done ordering, both staff who were checking customers out walked away. Even though we and others behind us, were still waiting in line. After a few minutes someone came back and checked us out, we waited about 25+ minutes for our food. My husband and one point stood up, and caught eye contact with someone working and they immediately brought our food over. We felt like the service was very poor, although the food was great. We have all tried daytime cafes like Panera Bread and Corner Grill Bakery. Wildflower is technically is in the same category but it's nowhere near those two fail chain groups. Food quality and service are all at a completely different level here and the amount of people that come to eat show the result of that. Most Wildflower locations I've been to, including three locations in Phoenix, one in Sedona, Prescott and Flagstaff have been packed no matter what time of the day it was. Salads are great, sandwiches are awesome young people behind registers are always super friendly and the amount of bread that comes with every dish is just overwhelming. I don't know its proper name...Cabrese? Calabrese? Not sure but it's so good. It comes on this ciabatta bread but I think next time I'll change that because the bread was TOUGH to chew and very messy to eat without utensils. My companion and I split the Pesto Chicken pasta dish which was pretty good except for the meager amount of chicken. I suppose we could have ordered additional chicken but we were too hungry to wait. Short Review: What's a good way to spend money on a weekday at noon? Well, there are many, but in this case, lunch. Wildflower's menu brings out that classic choice of sandwich, soup, and salad that is best suited to eat during lunch hours. And I must say, their sandwich is a delight to behold and eaten. Please note that this is a self-serve type of restaurant. Meaning, you order and pay first and if you chose dine-in, they will bring the food to you, but that's about it. So, there won't be any real service here, but I'll like to note that they were friendly, at least. For more information, read below. Long Review: Wildflower is located in between Litchfield and Goodyear. Upon arriving at this location, there are plenty of parking spots. Looking at the outside of Wildflower, you can see tables and chairs outside for people who prefer the outside weather. On the inside, it has a warm and vibrant feeling to it due to the lighting, glass windows, and the paintings and varnished of woods. It really feels like a cafe, except they don't have bar seats. Immediately, in the front entrance, you can see a display of bottles of beverages, bakery desserts, and among other things. After a few seconds looking at the menu, I went with the Tri-Club Sandwich. I took a seat at the booth. It took about 6 - 9 minutes for sandwich to come out. Tri-Club Sandwich: As usual, anybody who had a club sandwich before knows that it is stacked with three bread sandwiches, the bottom, middle, and top (often toasted). And as usual, you would have ham or turkey, cheese (preference), bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, and mayonnaise. That is exactly what it is for the Tri-Club Sandwich. The only difference here from a regular club sandwich is that, Tri-Club got both ham and turkey and has slaw carrot with a ranch dressing as the condiment rather than mayonnaise. To top it off with the sides, they give you potato and sweet potato chips on top of the sandwich. Please take note that this sandwich has a big height to it, so I recommend cutting the sandwich and eating with a fork unless you have a big mouth. Otherwise, this was a delicious club sandwich with one disappoint would being the dry somewhat stale crust. Overall, in quantity of the sandwich, I rate it -A and in quality, a B+. For the quantity, more chips would have been nice or if they have fries, I would like to substitute that over the chips, but otherwise, the sandwich came with a great amount, although still a bit expensive for a whole sandwich, about $10+. For quality, I have better sandwiches in my life time, but this one was definitely above average in my book. I will likely come here again and try other menus like pasta next time. I recommend this restaurant for people who just want a simple casual lunch. read more
