Food here was really good. We had the short rib parpadelle pasta (best of the group) , ribs and sticky chicken. All was really fantastic. The burger was slightly overcooked but the portion was awesome. Great fries and presentation. Our servers name was TY and he was awesome and attentive! Places are lucky to have servers like him. Nice vibes in there. Even had a dj putting out some chill edm music. The oddest thing happened though. The drinks came out literally half filled in the glasses. We inquired and were told that's how the bar does them. I figure whatever size your drinks are you should choose an appropriate glass. To get a 12 oz glass for $15 and it's half filled in a small glass just seems crazy to me. Definitely gotta change that imo. Both rounds of drinks we got short pours like this. Had dinner for four at the Morgan Hill location of Willard Hicks. Great place for a good dinner with a few drinks. Steaks were good, Risotto Scallops plate?.. weak with three thimble sized scallops, perfect for your Mama's Yorkie. If you do order a drink, please select a drink from their menu, otherwise you'll be in uncharted territory. For me, out of everything.... the whipped mashed potatoes and the appetizer Chezzy bread were the best items. Four adults with one drink each~ expect to pay about $400.not including tip. The service that we had was excellent, so please take care of that great service. Other than the sides, the portions were for the size of a thin 3rd grader. The place itself is nice with contemporary music a little loud. Looked like a 60 year old DJ bobbing his head looking around while turning knobs to Michael Jackson tunes. First time here 2 of us for dinner, ordered apps, New York, swordfish, cocktails, and desert. Coconut shrimp app in curry sauce was nice, we enjoyed that. Swordfish was a very thin steak, like it was butterflied and because it was so thin way over cooked. New York ordered med rare. Very nice steak good size and quality. It had sear marks on one side, not both, was cold to the touch and as rare as u can get. The frozen butter square they put on it didn't even thaw. I had to ask for salt and pepper and it was not seasoned. The fries did not taste good, under cooked potatoes and not seasoned. Shrooms were the star of the night, they were really good. We're back at it again for one of our date nights. We love to sit at the bar because it's self seating and they have great bartenders. I wish I can figure out which days have live music because those are just extra fun. We really enjoy the pork chop this time around because they made a truffle flavor brussel sprout that was extra tasty. My husband who doesn't eat brussel sprouts loved it. Sword fish was excellent as well, I enjoyed the sauce that is similar to a stroganoff sauce. Overall great night and great service. I'm sure I'll be back again. read more

I had a retirement event at Willard Hicks and everything was planned and executed perfectly. I worked with Daniel from the restaurant to chose a subset of menu items and they crafted a custom menu for our party. Communication was excellent throughout the planning process. The space was gorgeous. They had sectioned off a portion of the restaurant and set up the tables to be conducive to our event. They also allowed us to bring our own decorations. Food and service were excellent especially for such a large group (35 people). The cornbread is ourstanding as were the entrees. Do not miss the butter cake for dessert.. sounds blah but boy is it amazing. Quanity of food is over the top. Everything tasted so good it was hard not to over eat! You would think that this place would have amazing service for as much as they cost. The average plate is $24-$50. So make sure you bring your paycheck. The service was not good. She didn't come back and check on us I had to get up and ask for our check. She never came back so I brought the check to the front and they said that she would get it right now. I Door Dashed some dinner the other night and the menu and photos really drew me to this place. Being that I'm nearly 40, I can't resist a good soup anymore. I ordered the French Onion, and stopped in my tracks when I saw the pesto bread. Fresh bread? Pesto? Cheeeeeeese? I decided I must have this concoction. The soup was...average. Not bad, not outstanding. It was fine. The bread was... disappointing for me. The pesto didn't taste fresh and herb-y, light and zesty. The bread quality was good, but the pesto wasn't what I had in mind. Overall, the restaurant is on the pricey side and the food is okay. My wife and I had brunch here and sat at the bar. Great bartender! Attentive and social. And great food recommendations. I had the mambo salad - so delicious. Ample portion of tender juicy steak which I enjoyed with a cold beer. My wife had a frittata which she thoroughly enjoyed paired with an espresso martini. We definitely want to go back for dinner. Came here on a Monday at 6pm and surprisingly it was pretty empty. The hostess was very nice and sat us quickly. Our server came over shortly after and got our drink order and appetizers. We ordered the cheese bread and charcuterie board. The bread looked so good and for the most part it was. It had a little too much pesto for me and not nearly enough cheese. The charcuterie board was great, lots of cheeses and meats to choose from. The steak was very good, cooked perfectly with a nice crust. Then we had dessert, key lime tart, crem brule and cookie and ice cream. The crem brule and cookie and ice cream were great but the tart was not for me. I am writing about the Thanksgiving meal I shared with family on November 27, 2025. The Ambiance was fine and the server was very nice and personable. The food was so-so and for the occasion and price that was a huge disappointment. I feel we were served the left-overs from the lunch group to the dinner group. One Prime Rib was ordered. Properly prepared Prime Rib is served rare. To receive a more cooked piece, one must ask for the end cut. There wasn't a spot of pink on the meat served. That equals over cooked. The ham was overcooked or dried out from sitting around. So sad because the flavor was good. The green beans were so undercooked we couldn't cut or bite them. I had a few that were edible. They were nothing different than we can cook at home. The potatoes were plain but ok. The cranberry sauce was another huge disappointment. It was served in a thimble size container. It was such a small portion I almost couldn't savor the taste. My choice was to pick it up and drink it or ask for a spoon. Maybe a spoon could be added to the table's utensils. Usually bread is served with a nice dinner and stuffing is usually included in a Turkey entree. I said the food was so-so because the soup and salmon were very good. The turkey was good. They could have been more generous with the gravy. It did have a good flavor. The dessert saved the meal. Both were delicious. I didn't send anything back or complain because I didn't want to hurt the family member who chose your restaurant and made the reservation. Luckly her salmon was good. Ordered a New York Strip steak and eggs for brunch. The steak was covered in a pesto sauce. It had gristle running down the middle leaving it inedible. It was also over cooked. Eggs served on wood, really? Hamburger my partner ordered was waaay over cooked since it was ordered rare. Honestly, it seems they are using very low grade meats. Sad considering the price point. Though we have been to the Campbell location this was our first time here in Morgan Hill. My suggestion is to park across the street near the steep hill. Otherwise you will be driving around looking for spots. My wife myself and our 3 year old Izzy came here for our anniversary. It was worth it. Service was quite prompt and responsive. Service and safety: The waiter we had was super nice (wish I remembered his name). He kept his mask on the entire time and kept his distance. The staff at the host stand checked with us upon walking in to see if any of us had symptoms. I felt they could have done a bit more as at that point, I find it hard to believe anyone would raise their hand if they did. The outdoor space looked really nice with heat lamps and fire pits. Could be a spot for a romantic date, hangout for the family, friend gathering, etc. Food: We ordered a few starters to begin with, a few drinks, and our main courses all at the same time. Here are the standout dishes that I would go back for: - Pesto Cheesy Bread: this dish was delicious and I would have eaten 3 if I was able to eat carbs like that with no consequence. There was so much melted cheese, which is any cheese lover's dream. There was also a balsamic glaze on it, which really took it home. - Iron Skillet Poblano Cornbread: I don't know what magic they put in this dish, but we could all taste it. As someone who already loves cornbread, I would come back just for this dish alone. The jalapeño honey butter drizzle on too was the perfect addition to get me hooked on this. I took my wife to Willard Hicks for mothers. We went early so as to beat the crowd. We didn't have a reservation, but I didn't that would be an issue as it was early in the evening. We were seated promptly and the staff was nice and the food was good. Upon entering the restaurant I could've help notice how loud the music was. I'm hard of hearing, not deaf, just hard of hearing and its difficult for me to have a conversation when the background music is so loud. I asked three differed servers if they could could down the music just a little bit. They each replied with a blank no! They didn't even make an excuse about it being so loud. Not only was the music loud, its was not the type of music that you'd expect from a fine dining establishment and for the general age of the clientele. I was unable to have a conversation with my wife. Morgan Hill has some fine restaurants, but I will NEVER go back to Willard Hick and will advise everyone I know to do the same. WH, Morgan Hill for the win for an amazing Thursday evening Happy Hour. Baked Brie was a delicious bite with fresh pumpkins seeds, balsamic reduction and pecans. Take away dish was by far was their prime angus beef carne asada tacos plate for a flat $20. There never really is a "best" taco but this one is up there for sure in top the 7. I took a close friend here for her milestone birthday lunch. It was just the two of us, and there was almost no one else there (only one other table). Even still, our server got multiple things wrong in our order. She also waited a REALLY long time (30 minutes) to let us know that the item we ordered wasn't available. Why in the world would anyone wait this long? The food wasn't good at all. My entree was disgustingly salty, and it came with a bunch of bruised grapes on top of it. Random... My friend's order was wrong and had to be sent back. When her new order arrived, it was awful. Total before tip was $160.00. I feel completely ripped off, and can't believe she didn't give us any kind of discount for the terrible service, mistakes, and food that was sorely lacking. read more

04/23/2024. I ordered a Caesar salad ( $12.00 ) with chicken ( $8.00 ). It literally had three lettuce leaves with four whole garlic cloves on top of lettuce and I think a few toasted bread crumbs . On top of this was the large chicken pieces that where so dry. It wasn't like any Caesar salad I'd ever had. I was so looking forward to a good Caesar salad. I was so disappointed. Read online that this place was good to celebrate birthdays and anniversary. So I booked reservations for my son's birthday. I wrote in the notes "celebrating birthday" I have to say I was really disappointed with this restaurant. Food was mediocre, service was terrible, our sever wasn't very friendly and the whole two hours we were there we saw him 3x. Two of the times we had to flag him down. All we heard from him is "are you ready to order or do you need more time" and a "thank you" once we paid. There was no birthday dessert for my son at the end of our $400 dinner. Not even a single "happy birthday" to him all night from the staff. So if you are going to celebrate something there don't expect them to help make it special. read more

We went on Saturday evening. First, our server was much more eager to ensure a large tab for our table than to provide us with good customer service. This immediately made for a bad start to our experience. The blatant upselling and pushing of "extra" everything was obnoxious. Second, once they realized that we would not be ordering cocktails and increasing the likelihood of a large tip, theyndisappeared. Our water and iced tea glasses went dry. Also, I don't like that there is no bread service. Again, frustrating that they are padding the check by having you purchase "cheese" bread. The food was disappointing too. It was mediocre at best, for the price. Lastly, the music for an early evening meal is inappropriate for a steakhouse. They have a dj spinning dance club music. I've been here before and it's been a good experience but today was less than mediocre. I took my best friend for a birthday lunch and we were seated immediately. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted and asked what we would like to drink. There was only ONE other table in the whole restaurant so it was not busy. Our drinks were 80% ice and we finished them in 4 sips. Neither of us even tasted the alcohol. We were very disappointed with the drinks. Overpriced and barely any drink. We ordered our food which was just a few appetizers and it took over 30 mins to be served. At this point, no one else was in the restaurant. The food was decent enough. We waited a very long time for the server to come back at the end and we asked for the check. They brought it but then didn't come back to pick it up for another 15 mins. Again, no one else in the restaurant and we could see them just organizing things at the bar but not looking over at all to see if we were done. They finally came over and we paid and left. Literally a baked potato with a table spoon of sour cream. Nothing loaded about it. $9... brutal Steak: 2/5 the steak quality was good but over cooked.. I asked for medium and it was a medium well almost well done. Tacos: 1/5 my friend got the taco trio and I feel terrible. The shells were soggy and clearly prepared earlier in the day and put into a cold fridge. The fish was cold when it should have been a fried fish. She did not enjoy them. Pork Mac cheese: 0/5 it was supposed to be loaded with pork but it had 2 pieces and was tasteless. Cookie: they felt bad about the horrible meal we had and the chef gave us a rock hard cookie I couldn't even break by hitting it against the plate. Knife didn't work either. Server said "oh he was supposed to bake it". Even better.. she brought my hot tea out 10 mins after our solid cookie came out. She said the cookie was supposed to be baked and she thought they would come out the same time. It's literally hot water? Service: 0/5 there was so many people working on a Sunday off hour of 3pm... yet we had a frozen cookie, pre-made tacos, tasteless mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese with no meat. What had us laughing was the server asked at the very end how everything was-- I told her. She said "gosh why didn't you tell me?" Well... you never checked on us the entire meal and others brought the food out... honestly we have been laughing about this experience since we have gone and I do have to thank them for the laughs. Came here for dessert and drinks. The experience didn't start out great for me coz the waitress was a bit rude. My husband asked "good for dessert?" And she replied, " they're on the menu". Oh well. We ordered a couple of cocktails and the butter cake. Our cocktails were good, nice and strong. The dessert was oh so sinfully delicious! The cake was warm, caramelly, and moist! Food here was exceptionally delicious! I have been only to a few spots in Morgan Hill, but by far the best. This place has set the bar high for restaurants around the area. The outdoor seating area was perfect for us and our two dogs. The services was meh at best. Our waiter could have been a little more attentive. I finished my meal before my lunch date was able to get ranch and knife to cut her burger. This place would get five stars if it wasn't for that.
