We had a reservation for 3 people at 6pm. I arrived to check us in and was standing staring at the hostess for 5 minutes before she would acknowledge me and I was the only one standing there. We waited 25 minutes for our reservation and got our table after asking what was going on to the nice bar staff outside who checked on it for us. (I think the hostess forgot honestly) Our waiter was mediocre at best , forgot one of our side dishes, never refilled our water.. I would expect better service on a 250 dollar bill. Will not return. Food was ok, the pancetta macaroni side had no flavor. Risotto was tasty but I've had better. read more

We went here to celebrate a special birthday and wanted to try out this new place in Morgan Hill. Sadly we were really very disappointed.....from the very start . We had told them we were celebrating, yet they tried seating us on a bench type seat where there are 4 tables for two all seated on the same bench crunched uncomfortably close to the others. We insisted on a separate rable which she seemed hesitant but did seat us. Service is extremely painfully slow. Our appetizer arrived after a long wait.... totally burnt coconut shrimp. Had to send it back. When a non burnt version arrived, before we finished, our entree steak arrived. We had asked for it to be cooked medium. It was very chewy and difficult to even finish. We asked for salt and pepper. Didn't arrive till we were almost done. Asked for extra butter for the baked potato. Our server didnt bring it for the longest time . Finally we flagged down someone else and askedfor it. Just HORRRRIBLE service and food. Will not go here again !!! Next time we will just cross the street and go to Ladera Grill where we have experienced great service and amazing quality of food each and every time. read more

Got the ribs and they were not worth the price. Also got the Old Man Rum Runner, pure booze with no flavor. Restroom was thrashed. Great baby back ribs and yummy sides. All for a good price. Great outdoor seating. We have been here twice and have had their fries. They tasted terrible both times. When we mentioned it to our waitress the table next to us joined to say they also did not like them. They need to number the tables as they kept trying to serve us someone else's food 4 times! My husband and I went to Willard Hicks for dinner last night. Let me start with what was good. We ate outdoors, and the area was lovely--nice ambiance, plenty of umbrellas for shade, etc. We were seated immediately, and our server was nice and quite attentive. The problems, however, were with the food. The pesto bread and mac and cheese both tasted delicious. However, the steaks were mediocre, and the price for them was ridiculously high (so it's especially frustrating when you're more wowed by the bread and mac and cheese!). But even more significantly, both of us became very sick for the entire night after eating our dinner. I don't know if the problem was with food preparation or storage, but becoming ill after paying so much for a meal was again especially frustrating. After food poisoning, I can't imagine ever going back. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner last week at Willard Hicks. Appetizers and drinks were amazing.

I'm not one to write bad reviews but this was just too terrible to not post. First of all, I get that things are starting to open up but shouldn't restaurants have prepared and up staffed as we heard the state opening? We went here for a early Father's Day dinner and we had a round of drinks and after an hour of conversation our server came up and stated that their "ordering machine went down" and he had to retake our order.. although we saw 2 other tables who had people seated after us that received their order before us?! So we re-ordered and they brought us the wrong order... Then when they brought us out the correct salads, they were on warm plates, with wilted, brown lettuce. On top of that there were so many nats and flies at our table (inside btw) it was gross. I've been here before with ok service but this was just atrocious. Don't go on a busy weekend or else you're going to be very disappointed. read more

I was excited to visit this new restaurant in downtown Morgan Hill. My husband and I wanted to split a chopped salad before our entrees arrived. I wish they had split the salad for us, and the chopped salad wasn't really chopped. My entree was good, but would have better with 4-5 scallops instead of 3 with the risotto. Unfortunately, the noise level was horrible. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, after 6:00 PM, they have a DJ. The music was extremely loud and not appropriate for a dinner crowd. My mom and I went out for dinner and were very pleased. Our server Jordan was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Greeted us right away, drinks within 5minutes. The place was packed even for Sunday night around 9pm. I order the NY steak with Brussels sprout and the wedge salad for an appetizer. The wedge salad's dressing was creamy and not overbearing. We got here around 8:20 pm on a Thursday night for a birthday dinner and they seated us in about 10 mins. We sat there for about 20 minutes without being greeted by our server until we had to flag someone down to ask if we could order drinks. The servers didn't appear to be exceptionally busy but huddled around the computer as another review said. The girl said she'd get our server, who took our drink/ appetizer order a few minutes later. The drinks/ appetizers showed up in a decent amount of time. We ordered our food around 9 (2 burgers, a pasta dish and Brussel sprouts). Probably around 9:30 we started getting irritated because tables who had shown up after us had already gotten their food and checks and were heading out. We asked what was going on and the server apologized and said she would check on the food. Around 10pm (closing time) we asked for a manager and were going to say to forget it all together. The manager waited a few minutes until the food was coming out and spoke with us then and said he wouldn't be charging for the entrees. We weren't offered dessert (either because they were closed at this point or because they could tell we were mad). In the end the food was decent but not worth the wait or the money. I was not expecting this kind of service from this restaurant. I understand mistakes happen but to not even be greeted for 20+ minutes (who knows how long it would be if we didn't say anything) seems inexcusable. read more

Then the waiter said he'll be back for my daughters cookie. He forgot, and I reminded him and he said he would get it. He came back with the check and said have a good night. Absolutely love this restaurant and their staff. Very welcoming with everyone upon arrival, even during busy times. I always order their filet mignon and it seems as if it was cooked by the gods of steak themselves. With a side of their baked mac and cheese, some spicy steak sauce, and a bottle of wine, its always a good experience here. Music selection is good to match the ambience, giving it a classy feel indoors, and a more casual feel when dining in their outdoor patio. Def coming back and highly recommend! read more

My wife and I decided to finally try this restaurant on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy. The atmosphere is very casual, we really liked the restaurant decor. The staff are very friendly but the food is just alright. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the sauce that came with it simply overpowered the shrimp. My wife ordered the scallops with risotto. The risotto was way to creamy. I ordered the sticky chicken and unfortunately the chicken was dry. Overall, each dish had a nice presentation but the taste was not there. Wow! For a new restaurant I expected more kinks... everything from reservations to final bill presentation was spot on! Yes I had 1 minor displeasure... but likely a unusual batch issue. I'll explain... first... the service perfect. Just the right amount of attention. Friendly and genuine also local hires... that's important for Morgan Hill!!!!! The staff seemed to really understand the food and knew it... I appreciated that! We ordered the Brea and poke... oh man I loved the poke!!! The chopped salad we shared and it was presented perfectly the dressing was amazing and perfectly dressed. The stakes one from the grill section with 2 sauces and one from the specialty... I especially liked the one from the specialty section... we had the AMAZING Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. The dessert we ordered the cream brûlée (this was a bit of a miss) but I was guarateed it was a fluke... and I believe it! All in all this meal was over the top amazing!!!!! That other great restaurant in town is gonna have to do some work to keep some of its business. This place is designed well and executing even better! read more

We, along with every other person in the restaurant, had to yell at each other across the table to be heard. Now, in addition to the ear splitting music, increase the room volume with 100 people yelling. We asked the staff about this and they said the owner wants a hip vibe. I can understand that if you are in a strip club, but not if you just want a nice strip steak. Unfortunately, this ruined our experience and we would not return. read more

Food is very good. Service is top notch! Downside is that (like several other reviewers have commented) they shove parties of 6 in booths meant for 4 people. The noise level is also so high that it's hard to talk to the people at your own table. I recommend sitting outside where there is more room and less noise. Also I like their civilized corkage policy (first bottle free, more at $15). I would go back, but I'd sit outside. read more

My husband and I dined here for the second time. I have to say the first time was much better. For some reason they seem to have gone downhill. While our waitress was nice, the service was slow. It took quite a long time for our cocktails, and even longer for just plain water. Then they were out of the starter that we wanted, which was disappointing. For our entrees, my husband got the pork chop. He said it was a good, but a bit overcooked. I ordered the signature chicken, and it was horribly tough. The first time I had this dish the chicken was cut up and served over rice. This time, it was a hunk of tough chicken on top of rice. It didn't work. But the cocktails were good...the best part of the meal actually. I think the staffing has changed a bit since they first opened. They do seem short staffed and the kitchen staff seems different. My bartender and server were amazing. My drink was crafted to perfection and our server was attentive, BUT our baked brie was not up to par. It was still solid and room temp on the inside. Outside was nice and flakey so I know they baked it, but whoever made it definitely rushed it out. The atmosphere and aesthetic of the place are nice though. read more

They ended up accommodating us but we had to wait 45 to an hour to order our entree. Richard the bartender took care of us and he was great but the rest is the employees were just standing around including the manager with her rude attitude! Overall Richard was super nice I give him a 5 star. First and last time there. We will be going to Ladera grill for some steaks. read more

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time and it was amazing. We had a 4:15 pm reservation and we thought it would be an earlier dinner but the timing of the appetizers, dinner and dessert was just about 2 hours total. We like that pace so no complaints from us. The food was high quality and very tasty. The prices were comparable to any other higher end steak/ribs restaurant and the portions were shareable. The staff were friendly and eager to help and/or recommend drinks or food. I highly recommend having a reservation as it got busy quick and there was quite literally a line out the door (on a Saturday). read more

My friends and I went to have dinner here the other night because they had been twice and really enjoyed it. I ordered a hamburger with fries. The fries are horrible. There is absolutely no flavor, they are like little Lincoln Logs of hard grease.. sorry. And the Burger had no flavor at all either, it was massive but really didn't taste like much but hamburger, even with everything on it. I sampled the coconut shrimp and that was bland as well. My friend ordered the baked potato because he had already had the fries but didn't give me a heads up... jerk! The potato according to him was lackluster plus they forgot the butter. This was my first time visiting this new restaurant in Morgan Hill. it is beautifully designed and has a patio for those who like outside dining. The food was excellent as was our food server Shawna and deserves extra stars for her patience with my companions who are not easy to satisfy. i would suggest that salt and pepper be on the table from the beginning and the kitchen get better prepared for large parties. Spent my birthday here with my parents. Had a great experience - waiters were super friendly, each one greeted me and said happy birthday many times. Food was decent. I've been to the Campbell location and the food was great! But I prefer this atmosphere better. I was pretty sad because the reason I chose this restaurant for my birthday was because I wanted the seared ahi but they didn't have it that night. I got the poke instead but it wasn't great. The presentation however was beautiful. Everyone else got a steak which was yummy too but they got it pretty well done/medium well. I like mine more juicer than that... but it wasn't too dry. I loved the Mac and cheese side and the cornbread... definitely get the cornbread! My mom ordered the Brussels sprouts but was disappointed because they were still hard. In the end my mom was excited to take home the Brussels sprouts so she could cook them more at home and add a little spice. My dad was excited to take over the leftover cornbread to eat in the morning. The waiters packed our leftovers for us. When we had already left and we're almost home we noticed that there wasn't many boxes packed so my dad looked through them and missing were the cornbread and Brussel sprouts!
