The hippie hash is good, just needed some flavoring to it. The southwest bowl was good, spicy with the Benedict. The eggs Benedict was good, the substitute of the turkey bacon was a nice add. The cinnamon roll was quite yummy, big enough for 4 of us to quarter. Smothered in yummy cream cheese, all of it was delicious. Service was good, friendly and attentive. They have Delight brand coffee creamer.

We sat in the cafe for a little breakfast before heading back to Chicago. The dining room was charming, with a ton of varnished wood. Big booths and tables made it so comfortable. We still got what we wanted, a nice seat overlooking the water. One thing I'll say in that regard was there was a HUGE upfront rush, but then around 6:30 or so, the place had emptied out quite a bit. Might be useful knowledge if trying to time an entry here. ANYWAYS. The food. Phenomenal. So good. I stuck with standard fried chicken (ie not Nashville, not spicy) and it was amazing. Salty, well brined, flavorful. It even held up amazingly well cold out of the fridge the next day. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in years. The fries were insanely good as well. The greens (one of the side choices) were not my thing as they didn't have a lot of flavor. The only miss of the evening. My oldest enjoyed her burger, and my youngest thought the chicken was too spicy (read: peppery) but they've been uber picky lately so take that with a grain of salt (or pepper). Had a lovely cocktail here as well, called the Sunday Christian: Gin, Cocchi Americano, Bianco Vermouth, and orange bitters. I'm realizing I have failed you all but forgetting to mention the most glorious, buttery, flaky biscuit that comes with the fried chicken meal.
