We just bought a new home and reached out to WN to replace all the windows in our house. Nowell, our salesman was the same rep that helped us replace our windows in our townhouse in 2014. Nowell was great, extremely knowledgeable and on point. That was the end of the positive experience. The day of our installation on 9/5/20 was hit and miss. The window installation that occurred went well. We were told just before the appointment that one of the windows did not arrive and would be done the following week, irritating but not a big deal. During the process it was discovered that they had a window that was the wrong size. We had submitted a change order months before and it was apparently never applied, so that window was also not able to be done. For the most part the installation went well, installers were very polite. We were assured that the issues encountered would be handled in regard to the window issues. Specifically, the wrong size window and a window that had grids that was not supposed to. It was as everything was wrapping up that we noticed somethings that gave us pause. We found a used razor blade on the carpet in our son's room. We found broken glass on the carpet in our room. The window stickers that come on the windows has a very sticky residue, that residue along with a heavy number of fingerprints were left on the inside and outside of the windows, places we are not able to reach normally. Outside we noticed that several screens were wavy and not properly installed. We ended up with a white chemical burn on our lawn along with cigarette buds and screen remnants on the grass and sidewalk. A serious irritation of this whole situation had and continues to be the lack of proactive communication from the part of WN. I have always had to be the one to reach out for updates or to find out where we stood. When it was discovered that we had the wrong sized window, the project coordinator told us they would reorder the window at "no cost to us" insinuating that it was our fault that their company did not process the change order. As if they were doing us a favor. During the 2nd installation on 10/8/20, this was to be the time the out of stock window was installed and the window with grids were to be corrected and installed. During that installation we found out that the truck had been packed incorrectly and the gridded window replacement was not on the truck. Also, during that appointment, the installer broke a glass in our kitchen even after my wife had asked if it needed to be moved and they said it did not. I sent a 2nd email highlighting my displeasure with the whole process on 10/9/20 and still have not heard back on 10/19/20. I sent a follow up email just before posting this review. When I sent my 1st complaint email on 9/8 after the installation WN sent me a check for $300, which given all that has since happened irritates me even more. If you are spending over $16,000 on a job you expect a certain level of service and when you are unhappy with legitimate issues to think that would make everything good again is insulating. I am not sure how this will end up. WN is supposed to be coming out to complete everything next week but I am losing any confidence that all our issues will be addressed. However, I am positive that we will continue to get calls from their finance department asking if the job is done so they can get their money. read more

Our issues with Window Nation are many. The windows themselves appear to be sound, our problem was with the installation and the after sale service and accountability. The installation was a nightmare. It appears that Window Nation is simply the sales front, and in Maryland, Vytex actually is contracted to do all the work. We called Window Nation many times in February 2023, after the installation, to discuss our major concerns with someone with authority, and no one ever called back. Twice I insisted on talking to some sort of supervisor, and twice I was told he was in a meeting and I was promised he would call back when the meeting was over. That was 8 months ago, and nobody ever called back. It must have been a long meeting. I've given Window Nation 8 months to address my concerns, but they have refused, so I am proceeding with posting this review. In October 2022 we heard the Window Nation ads on the radio, stating they could do installation before the holidays. That was a lie; we were told that due to supply chain issues, it would be two months before installation, and could not be done before the holidays. They kept running the ad for months, falsely stating their delivery schedule. We were quite disappointed, but paid the large deposit and waited. Then the installation date kept getting pushed until February 2023, a full 4 months after paying the deposit. Installation was scheduled for the afternoon of Friday February 4, 2023, between 11 am - 2 pm, so I took off work and planned accordingly. As instructed, we prepped the house for the installation, moving lots of furniture and such away from the windows to make room for the workers, which was no small task, but we recognized that upending the house for the 3-hour installation was necessary so we dealt with it. The installation crew showed up at 1:30 pm, with no promised phone call, and the crew chief just opened our front door and let himself in, no knocking. We have two cats that we were going to lock up during the installation, but did not have the chance since they did not call and just let themselves in, and that caused great stress on the cats and on us to try to calm them down. Not a single member of the 5-person crew had a good command of English, not even the leader, making it very difficult to communicate. Further, the crew would never speak in English in our presence. I have previously lived overseas, and I was taught that it's simply polite and shows respect to speak in a country's native tongue while in public. These workers were guests in our home and I think it was rude that they made no effort to speak English in our presence. It was a very cold and windy day, the coldest and windiest of the year, wind chills plummeted to close to zero degrees. Their aluminum sheets were blowing all over the neighborhood. We were told that it would take around 3 hours for the installation, and after 4 hours of work, only half the work had been done. Plus, none of the final caulking or trim was completed outside. Around 5:30 pm the leader announced, with no warning, that they could not continue, that it was too cold and too windy to work on the upstairs windows, and announced they would be back the following day, Saturday, to finish up. Tough luck if we had plans. We had a number of plans scheduled for Saturday which we had to cancel, it was rather disappointing. Further, that mean all the moved furniture and such, which was a great inconvenience, would have to remain in their wrong location. Our kitchen was basically out of commission, so we could not cook dinner that evening, nor could it be used on Saturday until the work was completed. We agreed to a 9:00 am Saturday start. The outside trim and caulking were lacking, so the partially installed windows were quite drafty, with overnight temperatures dropping to below 10 degrees with strong winds; needless to say it was a very cold night in the house. This was a tremendous inconvenience to us on many levels that the work did not complete on Friday, as promised. The Saturday crew arrived at 8:00 am and consisted of only two workers: the leader, and one assistant who was fairly new at what he was doing; who constantly needed to stop and ask questions. We had cancelled our Saturday morning plans, assuming they could finish up by noon. We were wrong; it took the whole day, since it was a crew of only two, and not a crew of five. As Saturday unfolded, and our plans for the day got cancelled one by one, these two workers slowly got to work. The leader spent most of the day outside on a ladder, caulking, cutting and bending metal, and installing all the trim. The apprentice spent the day removing the 4 upstairs windows and installing the new ones. By 3 pm, after six full hours, they were still were installing the last two windows, and had two more that needed caulking and finishing, as well as a bit more outside work was needed. They salesman, Chris Schaefer lied. He told me I would get factory trained installers. I got an independent contractor and his trainee. They were unprofessional and their work was sloppy. They installed a screen that was obviously loose from its frame. They got caulk all over the new windows and frames. After paying them $8,000 for their shoddy work, I have to pay someone else to fix the screen and remove the caulk without damaging the windows or frames. DO NOT FALL FOR THE LIES!!! read more

Mr Whit Breeze was just another wolf in sheep clothing. He acted professional and helpful until he lost the sell. I had called him earlier to solve the problem, and received a text he'd call me back(11am) He just returned the call @4:40pm. I had tried to get the finance company to correct the loan contract... who would sign a contract with the wrong address. I reached out to window nation's finance Dept, 45 min wait and never talked to a soul. So, I call the finance company back, and cancelled the loan, emailed every Manager listed on the form I received from Window Nation.... to inform all that any "ASSUMED" agreement is to be canceled immediately. When I finally talked to Whit Breeze he turned cold as ice, and hung up in my face. Another unprofessional salesman. It's not the customer's job to fix a typing error Whit Breeze made. Poor install, bay window was to small but had to make it work since they pulled original window out in early January. New Bay window had a crack in it, refuse to replace, but will replace the broken pane. now July and still waiting for resolution. PROS: The double-hung windows themselves -- 20 of them -- appear to be of generally good quality. The cost was reasonable. The Window Nation installers appeared to be generally competent, polite, careful not to damage anything inside or outside our home, and reasonably quick. The windows were installed three weeks after we ordered them. CONS: The sales pitch was long, generally uninformative, demanding, and high-pressure; I would have preferred a cogent analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of Window Nation windows vs. those of competitors. The windows were manufactured, and until the last minute were to have been installed, by a supplier, which was not even referred to generally in the contract; Window Nation is essentially a sales arm of a non-affiliate. There is at least one problem with one installed window; Window Nation has not yet addressed it. The salesman's promise that rotting wood frames would be replaced turned out to be inaccurate; the installers simply covered them over with vinyl; I am hoping for the best long-term. The salesman's promise that the installers would review each installed window with me before leaving was also non-factual. I had to ask Windows Nation for an electronic copy of a brochure explaining how to operate the windows. I also asked for, but did not receive, a brochure identifying in detail the components of each window. I am still waiting to hear from Synchrony Bank, which financed the windows for us. read more

I can not get any information on the warranty as far as who to contact or how I can get someone to come fix my NEW windows. Three windows move side to side and most of the locks are grinding and have already rubbed to bare metal. I have two windows that I have to push to top up and bottom down to get them to lock. I had my kitchen windows installed. After a few months, water stains started to appear on the interior bottom edge. No stains on the stop or sides. I requested a warranty service but I was told that rain water could be seeping from the window top, towards the sides and then the bottom and as such it's not part of the warranty. What a disingenuous response for a reinstall service to add foam at a labor cost of $100. In my disgust, I ordered 10 windows and 2 doors from a competitor. We had the windows installed a month ago and there were some issues like the wrong screens, missing parts and worst of all, the worst caulking job ever. The color does not match and it looks like a seventh grader did the caulking. TERRIBLE!!! I've been in touch with the service department of both Window Nation and the manufacturer Vytex. They finally installed the correct screens correct screens and adjusted one of the issues but since the tech came out 10+ days ago he even agreed about the caulking and they have not responded to my calls, emails or texts. Starting with the sales guy, he was great. He was on time and explained everything in detail. Estimated Lead time on windows was sort of unexpected, but they did get them turned around quicker than we thought. Not here's the part where I tell we could have waited longer on the windows if they were going to of better quality. Internal scratches on the panes. Already have several sashes to be replaced. The installation crew was great. The came at like 7am although we were given a window of 8:30-9:30 arrival. No issue there, just not prepared that early on a Saturday non work day. Repair crew explained everything in detail, very specific. Mr. Green came out to look at the job progression and he was absolutely amazing. Very kind gentleman. He did come back after the work was finished, so that he could take pictures and document what window sashes needed to be replaced. It was hard taking pictures because of the transparency and all the awesome sunlight we get. I felt the need to grab a razor blade and try to scrape off access glue, sealant and others marking, but I didn't. They are scratches and can't be removed in that manner. I saw the windows in a totally different light at nightfall. There are plenty of internal scratches on some of the panels. I trust that we will have these issues resolved and I can come back to update my review and give them 5 stars I wish I had more pictures read more

Derrick from Window Nation came to our house for our free estimate. He was pleasant when he arrived and throughout the appointment. He played with our dog and made small talk. Once it was time to sit down to "crunch" the numbers, he gave us a long-drawn-out explanation of all the options available to us. It literally took up the entire sheet of paper and had lines drawn from one number to the next, totals were circled. It almost seemed like it was done to intentionally be confusing. We weren't happy with the estimate. It was higher than other estimates that we received. I asked if we had the entire job done if we would get a better price. He told us that he'd have to call his district manager. He wanted to know which of the many options we would choose so that he had some leverage with his manager. I told him our choice and he called his manager. The phone was turned up loud so that we could overhear what the manager had to say. It all seemed staged, like this is their process. The first words out of the manager's mouth were how big of a job we had, that getting the price down to where we were comfortable was a "big ask". The manager asked if we'd be willing to have a sign put in our yard for a couple weeks. Then he asked if I would "leave an honest review". HERE IT IS, AS PROMISED. They went back and forth and got the price down. While I appreciated the lowered price it was still A LOT of money, and I wasn't ready to make the decision at that very moment. I asked if my husband and I could discuss it overnight and call him the next day. That was out of the question. He went on to tell me all the reasons why I should do it now. But we weren't ready. We needed to think about it. He told me that the price was only available while he was sitting at our table. I told him that I couldn't make the decision at that moment. He said, "so this was all for nothing". He grabbed his tablets, pulled his brochures together, snatched the blue estimate, and stood up. He was ANGRY. He said that he's "got to eat too" and that this was a "waste of time". I told him that I thought this was a no obligation free estimate and his response was that he called his manager so it should have been a done deal. He walked to our front door, grabbed his bag and his window, and told us, "good luck with your project" When we scheduled the appointment, we were told it would take approximately 60 minutes. From the time Derrick arrived until the time that he stormed out of our door it was 150 minutes. It was almost 9:00 PM. I am appalled at the way he acted. He was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He put his best face forward to make a sale but lost it when we didn't want to sign a contract at that very moment. He used every sales tactic he could. I understand that his job is to make a sale but his attitude at the end was enough for me to make this post and warn others. They immediately told me, and I got a phone call right away, saying that they would send me a replacement cost. I sent her all the information that she requested. a month or two later, I called to inquire on the status of the reimbursement....they had no clue what I was talking about. I then called the original contact, and she said she would check status and call me back. month or two later.... nothing. if I had known that they were not going to live up to their offer ( she offered it to me...I did not ask) I would have at least kept the mirror frame. read more

The ABSOULTE WORST experience. First of all, we were told this would take around one hour. This woman was over for over 2 hours, fumbling through her sales pitch. When she finally took measurements, we asked for the cheapest, most affordable window estimate. After the Measurements she told up she will tell us the price in a minuet when I asked how much? AN HOUR AND TEN MINUETS LATER, AFTER telling my wife to start filling out the finical form she got PUSHY when I told my wife do not fill out ANYTHING until we know the price. she then said I will let you know the price again, in a minuet. one hour and 45 min we finally got to hear the price......33K!!!!! For a 10 window 1,089 SQ foot house. She told us we had to make a decision today.... I told sorry to waste your time, but it is a no way. She looked at my wife and asked what she wanted, to which my wife said you heard him it absolutely a no. She then re-did all of the windows to the lowest price one, LIKE WE HAD ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. That came out to 25K. Still WAY Over PRICED. WE told her again no thank you and it was time to leave. She had a slight attitude, as did we at this point. She packed up the side show she put on in the living that left us confused anyways. After a few minutes of her being out at her car, came in happy like a kid telling us 10,800, which is what we were quoted at else where with a different company. Window Nation is CROOK! Sales guy (Terry) was great at the start windows came quickly. Installation crew worked really hard and I thought I was pretty happy. Then I realized one of my downstairs window's locks didnt line up right on the right side. Upon closer examination security sensors on 6 of my downstairs windows were gone and now need to be repurchased through my home security company. If that wasn't a big enough annoyance the repair guys I waited all day for never showed up and no one could tell me why and I had to reschedule. The final salt in the wound was when I asked about the trip I was promised in the sales pitch they had not noted that promotion on my account. I finally deciding to replace my 25 year old, builder's grade, windows and contacted Window Nation (WN) for an in home estimate and evaluation. The sales people were respectful and knowledgeable. We brokered a deal to fit within my budget and off they went w/ my deposit. Within a month I was called to schedule the install of 27 (yes, 27) new windows. The install went well with one exception: One window was 10" too short for the opening. The installers immediately contacted the company and ordered the correct size which was installed two weeks later. The master installer was fantastic at sealing and finishing of all windows they replaced, to include J channel were none existed before. He even built a custom metal flashing to cover exposed areas of a basement window where siding didn't exist. His dedication and craftsmanship was on full display and I thanked and told him as much before he left for the day. The team was onsite for 12 hours! We noticed two torn screens after the install and the window company replaced both onsite while installing that last window. No complaints about customer service or responsiveness. I hope too see big improvements in the next winter season but so far I am very happy with my purchase! read more

First off, let me be clear that this review is NOT a reflection on the product itself (which is excellent) nor on the person who came out to do the initial measure and who provided the quote. This review is on the installation and the damage that resulted from, which Window Nation says they are not responsible for, nor were they willing to negotiate even speak in the matter. During the installation, the crew working on my front entrance door kept leaning their bodies or the ladders against the outer door frame and as a result, they damaged the door bell button so that now my door button only works infrequently and many times will not disengage from the power. There is now an almost constant buzz from it. When I called and was transferred to the Service and Warranty department, the woman who spoke with me said that the contract specifically absolves the company of any damage as a result of the installation itself! What a crock if BS! To state that tells me that the company doesn't truly value customer satisfaction nor do value with pride their installation process! Beware everyone! The phrase "Caveat Emptor" fits here. I am making every effort to get the word out! Do not go with this company! Hey do not care what happens to your house during installation!! Hate it!! read more

I am extremely disappointed in both our window installation and the so-called customer service at window nation. Many of our window's vinyl came damaged with fairly large gauges and scratches. For the exceptionally high cost of windows, I was under the impression that we would receive an undamaged product. In addition to the terrible product presentation, I was also disappointed to see that the caulk appears to have been applied very hastily as it is uneven and unsightly. They somehow smeared caulk everywhere to include the screens, the window frames and drywall, and even on our exterior siding... yet they somehow missed several screws and it is only a matter of time until water accumulates beneath our window frame and rots it out. I contacted their customer service team multiple times but have yet to hear back from them (it has been well over a month now). Save yourself the headache and go with anyone but this company! read more

Constant contact with their support teams has done absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. When are you going to fix the holes you left in my house, WN? This company is a joke - high pressure sales tactics to get you to put your signature on the contract, then after that slap their garbage windows in with zero attention to detail, and ignore any attempt you make to rectify the problem. Stay AWAY from this company. I entered my information into their website and literally within five seconds my phone was ringing to schedule an appointment. I gave them all my info, spent way too much time answering absurd questions but we agreed on July 24. They sent me a text two days later telling me to call them which I did not do because the appointment was set. Around 2pm that day, a person calls me and starts asking me all the absurd question I already answered two days later. I am VERY busy and I was irate that she was wasting my time. I told her that she was wasting my time and she proceeds to argue with me and CONTINUE to ask questions I had already answered despite me saying my wife and I would be available on July 24. I ended up hanging up on her. So today july 24...no one shows up. In retrospect, I am actually glad they did not show up. This company advertises heavily which costs a lot of money. They also pay people seemingly around the clock to contact clients immediately then pay someone to harass the client immediately afterward to waste more time. They probably are high pressure sales people to sign the day of the presentation and are most likely the highest priced windows in town. My advice is to find someone who does not advertise or harass customers with repeated phone calls. read more

I'm so surprised by the negative comments. We had 7 new windows replaced in our home. Our consultation with Crystal M. went extremely well she answered all of questions and concerns.. Windows order and installed earlier than anticipated. The installers were professional explained exactly what the day would consist of. OMG the clean up after installation was superb! We love our new windows! We didn't have the basement windows replaced but we've already called back less than a month to have them replaced! read more

Steer clear of this company. We ordered our windows in February 2021, paid in cash 1/2 of the total cost (no financing) and were told they'd be installed early spring. It's now late July and they have failed to come through on two set installation dates, without communication about the delay. I understand that there can be delays resulting from the pandemic, but they fail to communicate- no updates on changed installation date, no responses to voicemails, no responses to emails, and broken promises of call backs to provide updates. Go with a more reliable, communicative company. There are other, more reliable companies. Furthermore, we used them for other window replacements and are satisfied with the windows, but the sealing around the windows was sloppy. We were assured when ordering these additional window replacements that this would be remedied upon their return....I now have my doubts. read more

I can't speak for the installation or service team because I never got that far. When I called to schedule someone to come out to give me an estimate I was asked if my husband and I would both be there. I explained my husband wasn't concerned about being part of the process and that I would be making the final decision. The person on the phone told me that they would not come out unless my husband was there. How sexist! I guess this means they do not do business with single women. I told him I was no longer interested in scheduling someone to come out for an estimate and that was that. The owner or manager or whoever did follow up with me days later offering me a discount, but again, my husband would have to be present. I normally hate to give negative reviews as I like to follow the "if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all" theory. However, be warned that this company is very narrow minded! We had a great sales rep - Andy Dale. They did a fantastic job with the windows and our door. The only things that prohibited me from giving them a 5 star is: 1. We had to haggle quite a bit and I've heard this is the way it is from other friends. You cannot accept a first offer. Our price went down $15K from just haggling! 2. It took a really long time to get a date scheduled and we had no idea what was happening in between. We signed in October and they just did our windows last week (first week of December) 3. They told us it was a 9-5 job to install but it actually ended up being a 9-8pm job. This was problematic bc we have a toddler and it was both freezing and stinky in the house and so much debris. The gentlemen didn't leave until well beyond 8pm. It worked out they finished everything in one day but it just was challenging to plan that day We engaged Window Nation a second time to do the same thing they did the first time around. Much like the first round, after haggling a bit, we got our price down to $5K for 4 windows and 1 door. It took forever to schedule again and I had to follow up with them 4 times to find out what time they would be coming bc I have two babies and needed to coordinate them. When the guys came to do the work, they literally only popped in and out four windows and didn't touch the trim. When I alerted them that they are supposed to do the trim, they said they didn't have this in their work order. I called our sales rep who said sounds like something went wrong and he's look into it. Now he's come back to me saying that we never paid for the trim and if they did the trim the first time around (last year) that they did work we did not pay for. So now they are refusing to do work I paid for and the sales reps boss has been dodging my calls and isn't returning back to me. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!! They are thieves and if you don't haggle your heart out, they will take three times the money and even after that they won't do what they're contracted to and refuse to do anything further without asking for more money. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THEM! ANOTHER UPDATE: After threatening them with legal counsel and weeks of back and forth and headache they finally agreed to and completed the work they started -- they finished the trim on the four windows. It was obvious we paid for it and it was their screw up and they were asking us to pay more to add trim!! They're THE WORST! read more

Since I really needed siding and skirting repair Window Nation could not assist me. The company got back to me quickly to tell me their focus is window replacement. I appreciate that they responded and did it quickly so I was not waiting on an estimate they could not give. Maybe if I ever need new windows ... I'll give them 1 star for even responding.
