Location Off Andreson in the lot south of the Walgreens. It is the only food cart with a large covered structure next to the cart itself. Ordering Menu right off the side of the food cart. There is supposed to be an app, but I had a hard time finding it. There is a Winston's fish and chips app on Google Play, same logo but for sit-down place. It could be the same, but I'd rather order on-site. Easy peasy to order. Wait is typically 20 minutes. They now have the buzz pucks to hand out to let you know your order is ready. The covered seating area is fine and sittings about 20 people. Haven't tried eating there yet, but maybe when the weather is warmer. Note: Do try to order about an hour before closing. As I said, the wait is typically 20 minutes, and they may be backed up with phone orders. Food; The first time, I ordered three different ones: fish and chips, wings, and the combo. Fish were nice and flaky- good size filet, breading was light and crispy. Chips were warm and al dente Not used to the mashed peas but textural like mash potatoes. Curry sauce gives it a tangy flavor. Wings were like drumettes. Flavorful, tender, and some sweetness in the tang. In conclusion, it is a great place to eat repeatedly. The buzz pucks were not there when they first opened at that site. The time it takes to get your order done is a known quantity. You can sit in your car for 20 minutes to await your order. If you come during prime time lunch, you should expect a little wait as they make your fish fresh for you, and the earlier you come the better so that they don't run out! The fish is a generous portion, especially cut for them and so light and crispy! Don't miss out on the smoked fish chowder either, and bring a wet nap for trying out these well balanced wings. Look for the chippy sauce too! There's a covered seating area if you want to dine here, but these thoughtfully designed boxes also travel well and will keep your food crispy and hot for the trip back home or the office. Really really good fish and chips. I've tried many, but these are done just the right way in my book. Hot and crispy but the breading isn't overbearing. The fish is flaky and just right. The real winner here is both the curry and the tartar sauce. The curry is mild, but really cuts through the breading and fish to add some great flavor! Wonderful place! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Omg this place has massively deteriorated!!! First off, shame on you Winston, guessing you sold your business and left town. Everything is different here now, everything. Clearly Winston does not own this place anymore as it has completely gone to garbage. No mushie peas, no curry sauce, the fish is half the size, looks like a fish stick, and the fries are burnt, dry, and flavorless. The tartar sauce was horrible too, clearly came out of some $2 bottle from Winco. And the wings? Oh my lord, they're half the size they used to be and covered in some bizarre sauce that could fill up a soup bowl. On top of it, they're charging more while you're getting way less. And the craziest part, they don't even have a menu outside anymore, they got rid of all of those because it showed the stuff they don't sell anymore. They just hand you some paper menu that you're meant to choose off of. Never in my life have I been more disgusted and appalled by what a business used to be--amazing, to what it has become--horrendous. When this place hit the scene it was all over the news, high-quality fish, high-quality ingredients, now all the good stuff is gone, you get half as much food, and you're paying more for it. What an absolutely horrendous experience. To the good people of Vancouver and the wider region, do not ever go here again, you will be massively disappointed!!!! The only good thing I can say about this place is they feed the homeless. But if you're not interested in hanging around a bunch of homeless people while you're waiting for your food, be forewarned. Disappointed with Winston's fish and chips, very small portions on the fish, no mushy peas and there wasn't any vinegar. I was in Oregon visiting probably won't be back. The fish you serve it tasted good but it is definitely not English fish and chips. read more

I really wanted to like Winstons. Ever since I quit the food business I've always had trouble finding good fish and chips. Let alone british f & c. So much to my pleasant surprise Winstons served up fish that reminded me of my own. Huge portions, and the smashed peas were great. The fish with vinegar on them truly masterpieces. It's a trek for me to get here, but I'll be back and bringing the wife too. I also want to try their chicken wings. The chips were good, but not a big whooha like the fish. The menu is pretty straight forward, and the guys working the cart the day I was there were as friendly as you would expect for a cart at lunch time. As for Ambiance, it's a food cart. Lots of parking while you wait for your beeping thingamajig to go off. In this weather eat it in your car or take it home or back to work. Either way you'll be in for a treat. read more

We met friends for dinner last night at the Troutdale Food Plaza and decided to try Winton's British Fish N Chips, since we had seen flyers for their truck that was recently new to the Plaza. And, we were very pleased! We ordered the Ultimate King's Feast and an order of the Smoky Fish Chowder N Chips. The chowder is really chunky and hearty and the cod is really well prepared. The chips were different than we expected, but very good. And, the sauces were plentiful and very tasty. We will definitely order from Winston's again and maybe try their Vancouver location, too. read more

The chips were great, my fish however had little taste, and the breading was light, but too greasy. My son had the chicken which he enjoyed but for a fish and chip truck you would think that the fish and not chicken would stand out. Service was good the truck really cute, and the pricing at $15.00 seems a bit high. read more

It's a local cart. Had the #1 Cod Fish n Chips. Batter was perfect, light and not overly coated. Tartar sauce was very nice. It was on the side of a huge parking lot. It was empty when we arrived. We ordered by the window and went back to our car to wait for the food. It came out pretty quick. I don't know how this place got any 5 star reviews. It's def over hyped. The batter and fish tastes so plain and need some seasoning. The curry side was horrible! Delicious. Really very good. While not completely like traditional Fish and Chips, the fish was delicious as were the chips. The young people that served me were kind and friendly and were eager to know how Winston's compared to a real British Fish and Chip truck, and it compares really well. The price is super reasonable too. I will definitely be visiting again, they need to come out to Battle Ground. Also the big curly chips were nice and crunchy. Really enjoyed it and it was certainly worth the drive from BG. Had high hopes as someone who grew up in Vancouver and remembers when Burgerville had delicious F&C, I've been waiting for a solid spot in town (we all know we can drive to Ridgefield for the classic F&C). In hindsight I should have cruised out to Ridgefield for amazing fish rather than wait 45 minutes, but it's new and I wanted to try Winston's. Staff was great, fish was over-breaded with a crunch hard enough to concuss a Royal. Price was $14 for two 2 oz cod pieces, two cups of chips and some soupy peas. Very good Fish and Chips. The only reason I deducted a star that's because they were out of Mushy Peas, which happens a lot. They said they would go ahead and give me a couple extra pieces of wings to make up for it but I never did get extra pieces on my "Royal Feast" sampler dish. It only came with the two pieces that come standard with that order. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the Curry Sauce. I will come back for the Fish and Chips and hope to eventually try their Mushy Peas, that is, if they don't run out of it. BTW, the smoked Chowder was very delicious too! read more

I couldn't wait to try their food when I saw them setting up to sell. It's a good cart, and there is a designated covered seating area. When I ordered, it took a bit to get my food. But what do you expect when they cook your food when you order. The workers are so friendly. And even though they were Uber busy, they still smiled and were very friendly. First time trying British style fish and chips and my opinions could be due to ignorance on my part as I'm not familiar with an authentic British version, but as an average consumer who is familiar with an American style fish and chips, the food was just okay. However, I do think there is value here when you consider the price and portion sizes relative to competitors. Some additional thoughts and feedback below. Pros +Workers are nice and friendly +Food seems to get fried upon order +Chips were fried and seasoned well +Large cod pieces +Fair price given portion size and rising costs +Takeout box prevented any grease from leaking through and the maintained the crisp fried texture despite a 15min drive home. Things to consider: - Fish is bland on its own and potentially not seasoned at all. May be by design so people can season and dip as they please and/or this is just how it's done in England and I didn't know; however, I think a little salt wouldn't hurt. Or an alternative would be to communicate that it's up to customers to season as needed, so first timers aren't alarmed at the blandness and instead know that this was by design. - Fish was little too greasy for me personally. Thought it was okay at first but after finishing one piece, it felt very heavy and ended being my only meal of the day. - Curry sauce had a hint of a some kind of horseradish related flavor? I may be way off the mark here but if there is something like that in there, I would think its best to label that as that's a hit or miss for most and especially children. Not necessarily a con since it tasted fine, just unexpected for me. read more

Maybe it was just because it was the holiday weekend... we came up all the way from Beaverton. Got there at 1pm. All of the tables were gone.... Where are you supposed to eat the fried food?! Tried this for the first time and probably the last time. Breading was thick and mushy, full of oil. Had to peel it away so I could just eat the fish. Fish wasn't bad, hard to screw up cod. Frys were ok, too much salt for me. Based off of the fish I won't be back. Better places to get the same meal with better results. Hell, skippers was better than this place! read more
