This place is next to Golden Deli. It's s cute little store with some counter/bar style seats and 1 table outside. It can get pretty busy so plan ahead. Parking can bet packed as well too. The soft serve ice cream are good, you have a choice of regular, or with a taiyaki. The taiyaki that comes with the soft serve have an open mouth to fit over the swirl. The regular filled taiyaki are closed mouth. The Mozza-dog is the rectangular looking one. I grabbed 10 taiyakis for$20 and preferred 2 each of the regular taiyaki menu. Matcha ice cream is not bad, but something about it was off. I think it might have been too icy and not creamy enough. We tried the nutella, custard, and mozza-dog flavors. I recommend all of those and would order them again. Mozza-dog is a good savory option. Mozzarella cheese and hotdog. Nutella as expected was delicious! Custard was good too. Taiyaki, also known as Bungeoppang in Korean, is a delightful fish-shaped cake that's a must-try. To be clear, I can already hear the naysayers pointing out cheaper ones elsewhere. But if I need a default high quality, consistent, delicious version of Taiyaki, I definitely recommend this place. The price is entirely reasonable for just how delicious each cake is. The people behind the counter really take pride in their work - I even see them cutting the burnt edges off the cake so that each one is in the most presentable state. I want to say, the chef, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu (I'm just reading the plaque on the wall) really brings a touch of culinary expertise to this delightful treat. They even have instruction on how to reheat the Taiyaki if you don't finish it all in one shot (I don't know how anyone has that much self control). Oh and yes, the vanilla soft serve is creamy and yummy. While the toppings are communal, they're in good shape, adding a fun and delicious twist to the dessert experience. Yes, I've been sad that La Bobatory has left the plaza, but with so many boba shops in the area, it was perhaps inevitable. This is a rather new spot that opened up in San Gabriel area, and I am so glad they are open in this area! Not only do they sell amazing taiyakis, they also have good soft serve ice-cream!! First of all, the taiyaki is plain amazing. It is crispy outside while being chewy on the inside. I tried their custard and nutella taiyakis, and both are equally delicious. But I have to highlight that the custard is very smooth, and it is not as starchy as other stores selling custard taiyakis. I could say that this is probably the best taiyaki I have ever had in the area at least! Not to mention, their ice-cream is also top of the line. I tried their milk soft-serve and milk & dole pineapple swirl flavor. The plain milk flavor has a very strong and natural milk flavor, which is something that is rather difficult to find. The dole pineapple itself is very sour, but when it is swirled with milk, it has a perfect balance of sweet and sour!! But please note that the milk flavor will not be that obvious in the swirl since it is overpowered by the pineapple. Also, shoutout to the service! The service is top tier and everyone is very friendly towards the customers! I had a chance to speak with 2 of the owners and they are very kind too! In fact, it was one of the owners who recommended me the dole/milk swirl flavor, and I will definitely come back for this flavor (and some others)! Another thing worth mentioning is that they have a self-serve toppings station! While the place is rather small, they still manage to squeeze in this station. Customers are allowed to take as many toppings as they want to top their soft-serve. However, the parking can be tough during lunch time since this plaza has always been very busy in the San Gabriel area.
