The location is nice. Pretty inside. There was no one there for happy hour and I'm pretty sure the reason is because of the food. Wings were dry and overcooked. Sushi (tuna roll and crispy rice roll) was mushy, like it was a paste or something- just not quality. Praying I don't get sick. I didn't even finish it. My husband and I were disappointed and still hungry when we left. On the other hand our waiter was nice and turned the game on for us although we couldnt hear it. Mixed emotions about this place. Came in a couple of weeks ago with some friends (my first time) & the food was ok, but the service was meh -and the traffic wasn't even heavy nor crazy either for my party to be overlooked a couple of times. The phone rang a couple of time and not one employee would rush to get it -that's business walking away or thinking the restaurant is closed. And a party of 15+ shouldn't take the whole bar area during happy hour either. My party of 6 came there for that reason and all that area was taken because of that huge party. Honest opinion: large parties of more than a booth shouldn't be allowed to take the whole bar area. Or if that area is taken by a big party and a smaller group asks for it, at least make an exception for the smaller group. read more

I was a regular. I came in for the happy hour and sat at the bar. I waited for 30 minutes and still had no drink or food. A couple came in 15 minutes after me. In less then 10 minutes, they had food and drinks. I had NOTHING. Several bills by surrounding patrons were paid and I sat there with nothing. I will never go there again. I came into Wokano cause I wanted to take myself out to eat and celebrate a big job. Upon arrival, I could see everyone was focused on watching the FIFA World Cup game. No biggie. The host wasn't super inviting. So I go sit at the one open table at the bar. It's packed and there's only one bartender working I guess. I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for someone, anyone to greet me. Servers and food runners walking past me. Hosts busy watching the game. Then FINALLY after 11 minutes a server who walked past me 4x already asked if the bartender had got my drink order (that's how I know I wasn't in the server's section) I said no but I'm ready to order and I want to close out. The server takes my order and tells me he's gonna let the bartender know cause it's his section.. the bartender delivers my food. Never once introduced himself, never said hello. He did not speak one word to me. I get that maybe he was tied up. But you're never to busy to say a hello. He never checked in my food, Asked me how was anything or if I needed anything. He dropped my check, took payment. Still no word. I am not exaggerating when I say this man didn't even speak to me. Nobody did. I pay, I don't get a thank you have a nice day. Nothing. Now I still tipped because I work in the service industry and I choose kindness. but I do feel it was quite ridiculous that the host were standing around, didn't offer to help out. That nobody came to check on me to see if I needed anything, or if I was satisfied. Like I said I simply wanted to celebrate something big and this experience had ruined said celebration. Came in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with a couple of coworkers. It was a pleasant experience. Good was good, service was good. We sat ourselves near the bar area. Please note their booths and tables mostly seem to be very tall, I'm sure they had more accessible seating options in the main dining room, but I didnt see from where we were sitting. I ordered the lunch time Mongolian beef with white rice, and my coworkers both ordered the kung pao chicken. It was good and for a sit down restaurant, the prices weren't horrible, keep in mind we did order from the lunch time menu. The decor gave me Cheesecake Factory vibes and the quality of food was about the same: consistently okay and satisfies everyone's cravings with a large menu, but not a place I'd take someone to impress them. Honestly, I can't see myself coming back here, but it wasn't completely terrible. We came here with a party of 9 on a Friday night without a reservation, and thankfully they were able to accommodate us and helped set up a large table for us to sit together. The service overall was fine and it's nice that they're open relatively late. The food, however, left a quite a bit to be desired. My party actually warned me to not order sushi since it wasn't good, and unfortunately, I can see why. The rice was hard and seemed like it has been sitting out all day. I looked over at the other patrons eating and it also seemed like practically no one orders the sushi here. Maybe it causes a domino effect because their rice ends getting old from sitting out? Who knows. The mapo tofu was really bland and really shouldn't be called mapo tofu at all. It tasted like there was no meat in the sauce and the tofu was bland with what appeared to be some starchy slurry. Easily the worst mapo tofu I've ever had. It wasn't all completely terrible though - there were a couple dishes that tasted okay. The beef pepper tenderloin was actually pretty good - packed with flavor and tender, definitely something I'd order again if I had to come back. The fried calamari is cooked Chinese style and tasted alright, but was incredibly salty and really wanted to be paired with rice. We ordered bowls of rice and... well, surprise, it was also hard, old rice. The final nail in the coffin was that the meal wasn't even cheap. There's definitely a niche for American-Chinese food - PF Changs, Panda Express, so on. We ended up spending 26 dollars per person and the entire table was still hungry. Please do better Wokcano. There's no excuse for serving hard rice especially when it's not complimentary. read more

I've been to this location a couple times now. It's pretty good. They're pretty sufficient with their service, especially when it's not super crowded. They have large tables available, booth seating, high tables, and the bar. Happy hour is available. Their food is good. Their honey walnut shrimp & garlic noodles are the best! We had an issue with one of the drinks at first, but it was resolved and everything was good. It's a fun place to celebrate, nicely decorated with a chill vibe, and the service was great, but unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. My daughter was disappointed with her spicy tuna roll, I was disappointed with my peacock roll, and the pad thai was almost sickeningly sweet. The one food item that everyone agree was delicious was the orange tofu. It was crispy on the outside and the tofu melted in your mouth when you bit into it. Imagine my surprise when I saw a $20 "packing fee" on the bill. When I asked about it, I was told that because my order was big, I was being charged extra. How generous. I ate at the bar it was not too busy but there were only a few people taking orders so it did take a little longer for me to order. The food came out in a decent amount of time but I needed to go but the food had bold flavor the chicken was thin so a little dry but still good. I have always loved Wokcano and I'm not the hugest fan of Chinese food. This was my first time at the Burbank location. We came in with a party of 6 on a Saturday at 4pm, before the dinner rush started. We ordered a ton of food and loved everything! The portions are shareable and pretty large, I was sooo suprised we finished everything! Starters: We had the garden salad with ginger dressing, which is their signature hosue salad and one of my favorite salads ever! Its so simple but the crispy wontons and creamy sweet ginger dressing is incredible. We also has steamed chicken dumplings, which were good, the spicy tuna crispy rice, which you can never go wrong with, spicy garlic edamame, and albacore sashimi with crispy onions which was delicious!! Loved the sauce and the albacore was good quality. Entrees: I love the garlic noodles with parmesan here, they are some of my favorite to ever exist. We got 2 of those! I also love the double kung pao which comes with chicken and shrimp. Always a must order. We also had orange chicken which was really good quality, it is actual juicy chicken breast inside, it's not all fried coating, its very lightly coated but still has that crunch and the sauce is perfect. It was my first time trying the Korean short ribs, the flavor was yummy but these had a lot of fat on them. They were still really good! We also had chicken fried rice which is always a hit and always delish! If you order any of these entrees as a "DINNER" +$5 you get a starter salad, soup and a bowl of rice. Such a great deal! The only thing that did lack in this location was the service. How can one feel when a server asks you every other minute if you are ready to order. Excuse you sir, I just sat let me settle down and look at the menu and then I may let you know. I don't know if it was because he assumed I can't afford my dinner or any other thoughts he may have had. I did not take pictures of my dinner because that's how annoyed and bothered I was. It's my favorite dish that I order every time I'm here, because who else will do Kung Pao properly? This is perfect if you're craving sushi and it can feed 2-3 people guaranteed. I liked that they had every option: nigiri, rolls, sashimi, and a hand roll. Something for everyone. Black Pepper Beef Mignon: How was this so good? The beef was tender and coated in flavor while the onions were still crisp. The combination of the two was delicious and made it my favorite dish of the night. Honey Walnut Shrimp: Arguably the next best dish of the night. I got this because of its popularity and the sweet crispiness made it worth the hype. Crab Wontons: I can't help but order this every time I see it on the menu and it didn't disappoint. It came out hot and crispy with a creamy filling that was balanced out by the sweet chili sauce. Singapore Style Noodles: The curry flavor was prominent and well-salted. I had a bad experience with this dish before but this made me change my mind. Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice: An iconic appetizer that you can't go wrong with. The rice was a thin layer so it was extra crispy and they put a generous dollop of mayonnaise along with avocado. She had more drinks and food on our table before we even had the chance to ask. The restaurant is a little dated on the interior and could use a facelift, but during a dark evening, you can't really tell. We went back during a day off (Wednesday) and during happy hour again, and the place was EMPTY. My favorite dish is Pad Thai. It doesn't taste like Pad Thai in Thailand (I'm Thai) but it's a good fried noodle dish. Garlic shrimp is good too but it doesn't taste like garlic shrimp in Chinese restaurant in SGV for example. Sushi love boat is No.1 that the server recommend to me. Very photogenic!
