Arrived @ Woody's in Orange about 6:30pm Tuesday evening. Greeted & seated promptly & courteously (hence, the star). Ordered a Greek Salad & Steak Tacos dinners. The salad arrived wilted & lacked healthy appeal. Tacos were tough (steak) & removed two bits of gristle. The salsa was dry & beyond bland. My associate said nothing of the chili bowl & beer-battered fries. I tried the fries--seemed more about being a gimmick than offering quality fries. Overall quality of the food simply wasn't worth our money or our time. Fast-forward to 1:00a.m. and I'm having diarrhea. Yeah...a million eateries out there, so how does this place rate 3-1/2 stars? Was in this morning for breakfast and a drink. This is our second visit to Woodys and again are very pleased with the service and food! The restaurant and restrooms are very clean! I especially like how many TVs they have for games and the bar is quite intriguing with its number of options! It def lives up to its name by offering so many different cocktails!The service is great, quick and friendly. This has been our go to restaurant since it opened and we loved it. Today it was less than delightful. I asked for a replacement of toast as I have become gluten intolerant and I was told I could not but they would talk to the manager. Then the manager said they could give me tomatoes but I would be up charged. They have no gluten free or grain free options other than a corn tortilla which is not grain free. But they are fine with taking my money over an aspect of the meal I am not receiving as I refused the bread. read more

Today 1/2/23 was the 2nd time we have been to this restaurant. The first time we came, my wife ordered salmon and it was horrible and I ordered the chicken fried steak which was just OK today we went there and our service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress must've been in a bad mood. One of the people at our table asked her for more coffee and she didn't acknowledge her, and when she went by again, the lady asked again for coffee and our server said I heard you the first time, she never came back to ask if we needed anything else during the whole time we were there. And then we found out that Woody's charge is a surcharge. I like a lot of people are just getting tired of being nickel and dime to death they should just raise their price a few cents to pay for their surcharge , rather than show it as a separate charge. Love this location, it's become our once or twice a week happy hour spot to come and chill in the laid back and cozy atmosphere. $3.50 for a Woody's blonde ale is a steal! Food isn't always consistent but it's never a deal breaker, the service here is great as well. Diner food will always have a place in my heart so we love to come in and get a beer and sandwich. This place started charging a "covid surcharge" of 3% of the total bill a couple years ago. Now in 2023 they are still charging a 3% surcharge of entire bill. I asked the server what the surcharge was for and they did not know. Another worker said it is to cover cost of labor. In addition they have raised all food prices 10%. Plus a surcharge on total bill of 3%. They have printed the 3% surcharge on the bottoms of the menus so that's going to be around. read more

Over the years this place has gone through some changes, I remember back when it was a Coco's when I was a student at St. Johns. Flash forward and you know have a cool little diner in Woody's that offers a very extensive menu and nice little diner bar and a regular bar with TVs to enjoy your favorite sporting event. They also have a great happy hour that runs on Saturday and Sundays which is usually unheard of. Came in here with my fam and thumbed through the menu. Again lots of choices here and they also do breakfast all day. I grabbed the special which was a chicken Philly cheesesteak and my girl got the tuna wrap. Both were ok, nothing spectacular but not bad either. Both were good in size and they have some great sides. I went with the fries which I believe are cisco fries and are double battered. Really enjoy these kinds of fries. Again nothing spectacular here but they have a vast menu which I am more than willing to come back and try more stuff. Service was great and for a Saturday afternoon, it was definitely on the mellow side. Not very busy in there. Happy hour starts at around 4pm on Saturday and they do it on Sunday as well. Really like that they offer a happy hour menu on the weekend. Its worth popping in just to have a pint of Blonde Ale for $3.50. You cant beat that price. CHEERS!!!! read more
