I seat myself @ the bar to watch football and enjoy a good meal. The steak and eggs were great and came out of the kitchen very quickly. The bartender (Macy/blonde) was fantastic...to start. I ordered 2 drinks and a water. I politely asked foe the 49ers game to be placed on the big TV in the bar as there were a handful of 49ers fans (including myself wearing gear). I was told that the Mgr Poncho was in charge of the tv's and that she'd ask him. She apparently went on break and never informed me of what her Mgr said. Later, as the afternoon games were about to start, Poncho sets the tvs and puts the raiders/broncos game on the main tv and 49ers game on the 2 little tvs side by side to the left because "there are raider fans in the dining area to the left". There weren't, as it was confirmed by a "regular" that also happened to be wearing 49ers gear. My dishes have since been cleaned up, my 2 drinks and water have since been dry for about 20mins. A different bartender closed my tab and my drinks are still empty. The Mgr, and 3 different bartenders/ servers have since walked right by me as my empties sat in front of me and haven't been asked if I wanted refills of anything. I could have left, but that's not the point. I was waiting for someone. Knowing to read the room is important. Upon leaving, there were no raider or broncos fans and 1 49ers fan. Generally, those eating and drinking at the bar are going to spend more than those in the restaurant. I would suggest that if you want to watch a game, go to Danny K's or another fan friendly establishment. read more

We had a good dinner tonight. I was apprehensive as it was the diner nearest my in laws. I thought we should go to the Circle. We had excellent salads tonight which were huge! Surprised to see a full bar which was affordable (coming from Bay Area!) service was TOP notch for dinner. Even put on the basketball game for us. read more

Just wanted a nice breakfast with my wife and I and we attempted two other places before stumbling upon Woody's Diner. The two other locations had over an hour wait. We walked in and the hostess explained, "sorry. There is sort of a wait right now. At least 10 minutes..." I seriously wanted to laugh. We were seated outside and it was very nice. We had never been here before and immediately noticed the amazing menu selections. I Yelped the location and saw pics of the wonderful selections. The waitress brought our drinks and my wife and I chose the country fried steak and eggs and the cinnamon roll French toast. The service was awesome. The team kept filling my coffee as this is exactly how I like it. The food was very good. We kept an eye on tables around us and all the items coming out looked amazing. We definitely had a great experience and we will be coming back. read more

Woody's in Orange is fantastic! For years I met friends for breakfast here on Sundays and the food, service and staff were always great. Mid 2020 my grandpa fell and broke his arm and while driving him around I discovered he and my grandma had been coming here for dinner for a few years and they loved it. So - for the last 3 years we all come here several days (or nights) a week and always have a great experience. Wait staff, bartenders, managers, bussers, host(esse)s and even cooks are so friendly. I've tried the majority of items on the menu and while I do have my favs, I've never had a bad meal or bad service. We had driven by several yikes in the past decided to stop in. It was busy,but nobody waiting to be seated. I gave my name to the hostess, she said a couple minutes no problem, a group of 3 came in after me & she seated them immediately? Thetr were only 2 of us. Ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Special. Eggs over medium & bacon well done. French toast was cold, eggs very under cooked ( barely over easy) bacon chewy not even close to well done. 3 put of 4 things on my plate wrong. Server was fantastic, and attentive. Like most restaurants during this Covid time, Woody's has both a patio and a large canopied area for outside eating. On a Saturday I went with a friend who recommended Woody's. It turned out to be a great recommendation! She had her favorite, the Hawaiian burger, and I went with the Sunset Bagel. After three bites, I knew I'd be back. The bagel was perfect, a true bagel, filled with egg white, sprouts, avocado, and cream cheese. My friend's burger came with the largest onion rings I've ever seen. She gave me one, and it was crunchy and yummy. The next day, my sister and her family wanted to go for breakfast, so I recommended Woody's. We had 9 people, so three had to sit at a nearby table as Woody's couldn't move the tables around. We all ordered something different, and all reported how much they enjoyed it. I got the Sunset bagel again, but added a side of Woody's Famous Super Spuds. These are hash browns with jack and cheddar cheese, bacon bits, onion, mushrooms, avocado, and sour cream. Wow...my go to dive for breakfast/lunch. It's a diner so food is exactly that. It's good. I am so impressed by servers all of whom are great. Shout out to Lori and Maisy. I've never had a bad dish here. French fries are great. I prefer regular over beer battered. But my most favorite is the Bloody Mary. It's the best in town. I am always taken care of on the patio with my dogs and they always bring a bowl of water for them. I can't say enough about how much I love this place! Tons of parking. read more

We love our Woody's. HOWEVER, a diner should have great coffee. The coffee at Woodys is terrible. We believe it's the water being used. The taste is just sub par. So many coffee shops in Orange, at the very least Woodys needs great coffee with their breakfasts. Even good coffee we can tolerate and would be acceptable. Unfortunately, it's not even that. They need to upgrade their machines and use filtered and good water and good coffee. Also, the coffee mugs are uncomfortable. They lip on the mugs is waaayyy to thick and doesn't feel good to even drink the coffee. I still go there to eat the food but it's beyond disappointing to not be able to order a coffee with breakfast or dessert or any time I'd like a coffee. Woody's you have to upgrade ur coffee equipment, water and coffee quality. You've got to do way better for diner coffee. I no longer waste my money on it. Change the mugs out too. They are terrible to drink from. read more

Been to woodys a handful of times now, maybe twice as many actually.. everytime has always been great customer service and great food.. although the food was still great today, the fries could use some attention.. We opted for the original fries and they were barely cooked and not seasoned at all.. more than half the serving was left on our plates when they cleared our table.. Now for a disappointment, just because I've worked in the food industry, particularly waIting tables and it's part of your "side work" :: wiping down the booth.. my side of the booth had cobwebs and an actual spider visible.. my daughter had to sit on the opposite side since her head was very close to the webs.. This won't stop me from returning, but I'm hoping someone checks up on the cleanliness at some point.. read more

Lunch review My friend ordered eggs, super spuds with cheese and sourdough bread. She got breakfast potatoes which she mentioned to a server (not our waitress). They corrected the order. When our waitress Stacy noticed it was changed she started to berate my friend- that's not what you ordered, they're going to blame for it. No apologies nothing. I ordered a BLT, salad, soup lunch special. I got food poisoning. After I ate I felt full and had a sharp pain in my stomach which I thought was from eating too much. Was looking for a quick breakfast. Ordered corned beef hash with a biscuit and gravy on the side. Hash browns were not cooked and crunchy because they were raw. The biscuit was pretty hard and stale and the gravy was very cold. The manager was very apologetic and took my meal off the bill. Overall the interaction was great, but a bummer that I didn't really get breakfast as I had to get somewhere. Probably won't be back. read more

I hate writing reviews without eating at a location but i was very disappointed with my experience at Woody's. I walked in at 1:35pm with a party of 3. We were barely greeted. No warmth in the welcome, not even a smile. The front of the restaurant was medium full. The bar was empty and the rear of the restaurant was almost empty. We were sat in the back and forgotten. Waiters came in and out of the back room and no one acknowledged us. 5 min came by and nothing. 10 min and now I am losing my appetite. 15 min and a waiter walks to the table in front of us and now it is time to leave. I would understand if it was during rush hour and the restaurant was packed but it wasn't. I really wanted to give them a shot. I had seen their sign up where the old pasta connection was and was excited for a new restaurant. Sadly, like the previous restaurants before it, it only leaves you disillusioned. Excellent food selection. The customer service was excellent also. The place was perfect.

The experience today was much better than our first time. Hubby hash browns were not to salty and cooked perfectly! Crispy! I ordered the Popeyes skillet breakfast. It's scrambled eggs with sautéed spinach and fresh mushrooms, cheese and underneath hash browns and topped with grilled polish sausage! Also served with rye toast. Very yummy! Showed up at 8:28. Was told they were closed due to there were not busy enough to serve us. There were plenty of guests in the restaurant and the closing time said 9:00pm. I have been going to Woody's for some time but for some reason just have been there in a while. WOW things have changed! Who is running this ZOO! I was there about 6:30 pm Monday night and it was not busy so I am not sure why it seemed that the Red headed girl was all arms in the kitchen window touching all the dishes with her fingers and laughing it up with the kitchen staff. THEN Myself and my party were sat so I got to watch the show as she and what seemed to be maybe a Hostess laughin it up above a couple as they were trying to have their dinner also. Now get to our meal whatever the server wrote down was not what half the order was so we refused the meal to be served and she took it back (same redheaded gir). Leaving one meal on the table. Then she came back with the FRIES from on of the meals and said here you can have these till we get the rest of your meal.. ARE YOU KIDDIN ME???!!! I said no and the drama began since she was the Maiden Butterfly of the night. Loud and Laughing like she could care who was watching her. Now the thing is SHE was not our server! I think we saw our server... to order.. when I told her that this was upsetting that she (redhead) was touching the plate... brought the 2 plates back ... our check.. and cashed us out.... OH and when we mount our dishes up like a mountain on the end of the table. So total time 4 minutes! Yep what happen to this Store and Management !!! Always a great time. When you visit make sure to try their onion rings and ranch. Made in house and taste like heaven, best I've ever had. Favorite plates are the Asada Fries, ABC Burger, and Maui Wrap. Service is always excellent from as soon as you walk in until you leave. Has that comfortable Diner feeling. Love Woody's! read more

What is the surcharge for? I was surprised to see a surcharge. Later I emailed Woody's and asked. Never got a reply. Minium wage has doubled and many restaurants pay above minimum wage, which increases the overall price. Food prices have increased too, which also leads to a higher Tip. Sales Tax is high, adding to the overall price. Why the surcharge now? What is it for? My food was good, my wife's breakfast was cold. The rest of our party was satisfied. The table was sticky. Been to other locations before. We'll probably go back to another location someday, but I don't like the surcharge. Just raise the price and we will go or not go. The surcharge is annoying. One member of our party suggested, deducting it from the Tip. Without the surcharge I would have given a higher rating. read more

This was a nice surprise to find with my wife and my brother and sister in law. It's super friendly, clean and welcoming. We were greeted right away and given our table, ordered our drinks and they arrived right away. They have this dish called super spuds, it's one of the best things you can put into your mouth! Fresh grated spuds, Jack and cheddar cheese, mushrooms, avocado, bacon bits and green onion and sour cream.
