We had a great lunch here on the patio on a Wednesday. Since it was a weekday it was not hard to get a table, and we were able to have our dog on the patio with us! If you sit on the patio, you do have to go inside to order and pickup your food, so one of us had to stay with the dog while the other ordered. They had water bowls available on the patio for dogs and even a dog menu! We got our dog a pup patty. For lunch I had the side salad with blue cheese and a cup of clam chowder. The side salad is a large portion, but I wasn't a huge fan of their blue cheese. The clam chowder portion was a bit small, and it was okay clam chowder, maybe a bit light on the seasoning. You go on in the restaurant & order at the counter, then pick up your food when ready. In the mean time, you look for a table on your own, and the views are breathtaking! We ordered Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl, Cheeseburger Sliders with Fries, a Clam Chowder Skillet, a Wedge Salad, and a side of Fresh Veggies, all off the charts awesome! We usually go to Cool Cat Café or Splash Café for their clam chowder, but since we visit Pismo often, we wanted to try something new. The photos online (and even how the food looked in person) were really appealing, but the taste didn't match. The food was very bland overall. I ordered the asada fries they weren't terrible, but they weren't good either. It just felt like a mix of ingredients thrown together without much flavor or thought behind it. My husband ordered the calamari and chips, and his experience was similar very bland, and the fries were cold. My kids said their meals were just okay. My son had the fish and chips and mentioned that at least the fish tasted fresh. The atmosphere was decent. We did have to ask for our table to be cleaned, but the staff took care of it quickly once we mentioned it. Overall, I think the biggest improvement would be focusing on adding more flavor to the food. read more

Great joint for hanging out! Sri La were EXCELLENT (we had a total of 4!). The food was very good and generous portions! The fish and chips were not overly greasy like some joints! It was very busy, but we got our food fairly quickly! The bus boy outside was working hard to keep the tables clean...Keanu was a real sweet kid! Stopped by here on Memorial Day for a quick bite and was surprised at how good it was and reasonably priced. You order first and pay then someone brings your order to you. Beef quesadillas 9/10 it was really good and I would definitely order it again. I was surprised at how full it was and that it had a lot of flavor, I wasn't expecting much but it definitely surprised me. Downside is they don't have hot salsa. Waffle fries 4/10 not the most amazing waffle fries and lacking salt but okay enough if you have a craving, I dipped mine in ranch. The biggest issue I have is with how soggy the tortillas were. They were super fragile, and it was more like the consistency of oatmeal. Maybe it's a personal preference, but most good restaurant chilaquiles have a good balance with the tortillas. These were really soggy. I also found it odd that they served me a hot metal skillet but only had plastic utensils. Also, the table I sat at was super sticky. I feel like the service could be better. I get that it's busy, but there's another notch I feel like everyone could get to as far as being personable, cleaning the dining area, and overall vibe. The workers didn't clean while no one was sitting, but as soon as myself and other customers sat to eat, they were sweeping and cleaning, and it was just a big mess. I also didn't really like the young lady at the register, I felt like she didn't want to be there and she talks really loud. You could hear her from across the restaurant, and it wasn't even that loud or busy. The place screams college when I feel like it should be more of a laid back adult vibe. It probably doesn't help that I'm new to Pismo Beach, but this all felt very touristy. I would go as far as to say it was an outright trap, but it sure felt that way. Super reminiscent of a Huntington Beach tourist trap for all my OC natives. Overall, decent, though, and I'd probably come back to try the seafood if a neighboring place doesn't catch my attention first. read more

It was a busy time to go but we were still able to find seating easily and we got our food pretty quickly despite it being a peak time. We ordered a burger and a chicken sandwich and enjoyed both of them! The drinks were alright, just tasted very strong and could've been mixed better. What a beautiful view and delicious food!! Our family of 6 stopped at Woolys before heading home and we are glad we did. You have to order your food, purchase it, and go find your seat. I highly recommend one person from your party going and saving a table while the others go order since it is usually really busy. We were able to snag a table fairly quickly from another party who was leaving; however, we noticed that there weren't many people out cleaning the empty tables so we cleaned it ourselves (which is why this review is 4 stars rather than 5). We absolutely loved our food. The fish tacos were amazing and provided a lot of food!!! My fiance and I ordered the fry skillet, wedge salad, and the tacos to share but we wish we only ordered the tacos. They come with 3 tacos that are fully loaded and quite filling. The spicy Mayo is not spicy (for my non spicy eaters like me) but was much needed in the tacos! It added a delicious flavor that made the overall dish even better. Great place for a lunch break at Pismo beach. It was my first time at Pismo Beach and a hot day it was. My Bestie and I had decided to follow the crowd and ended up at Woolys. Their menu had multiple options to choose from and drinks as well. Plus a food menu for all pups joining as well. I tried the shrimp poy boy sandwich which was crispy and tasty! Shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a sweet and tangy sauce. Very good. Then I got a cup of clam chowder cause how could I be at a beach known for their clams and not get clam chowder.
