Very cute restaurant with great service and a menu that's easy to navigate. Definitely a hidden gem with some good options. We ordered the pork belly over rice, beef noodles, scallion pancakes and chicken wings. The pork belly was definitely the star. It was extremely flavorful and worked well with the other elements in the bowl. I did think the rice and veggies were a bit bland but then I mixed the bowl together and it all evened out really well so keep that in mind. I only tasted the beef noodles briefly, but my friend was a big fan. I was a bit underwhelmed by the other two dishes. The wings were fine, they just had a tangy taste that I wasn't expecting, it was almost vinegary. Not my favorite but not terrible. The scallion pancakes fell pretty flat though, pun intended. They didn't taste bad they were just kind of unremarkable. All in all, while there were some dishes I didn't love, I admire the use of different flavor profiles to create something unique. Back in LA for another event and I had to make time for brunch at Woon before heading back to PHX. I'm obsessed with the scallion pancake roll and the wings here are simply divine. It was rainy all weekend and coming here with a nice overcast sky and freshly rained on sidewalk was such a great vibe. Our food was out fast and fresh and I converted another PHX local to Woon. Grabbed some chopsticks in red for home and I couldn't leave without a restock of their excellent peanuts and sea moss snack. Beef Noodles were burnt so it only had a salty burnt flavor coupled with a rubbery texture. The scallion pancakes lacked any real flavor, pork belly was decent though and the baos were huge given they're $8 each. As someone who's also Chinese and grew up with Chinese homestyle meals, I had higher expectations but was left disappointed. Out of everything we tried, their Pork Chop Sandwich was probably the best. It was savory but I did wish the pork chop was thicker. However, don't bother to get their Milk Tea French Toast - it was bland and lacked the milk tea or the classic cinnamon french toast flavor and felt undercooked. We were only able to taste the yuzu shavings on top so this dish was left mostly untouched. The Five Spice Chicken Wings were too burnt and lacked five spice flavor. I was excited to try their Bolo Bao w/ Black Tea Cream but the bolo bao was kind of dry and just tasted like white bread. The Blackberry Yuzu Olive Oil Cake was not bad and was probably better than other items we tried. Their Bottled Matcha Latte only tasted like oat milk and had no matcha taste. I wanted to like this place and maybe we had to try different items on the menu but with our overall experience probably wouldn't come back. read more

Recently found out about woon through social media. It is worth the hype!. Woon reminds me of a more Chinese joy or pine and crane and in my opinion it's better. Most dishes are shareable and the vibe this restaurant has is so comfortable and homey. We got the cucumber tofu salad, pork over rice, and the beef noodles. The salad was good but interesting the tofu was incredibly firm which we weren't expecting it was still good, but if you are used to soft tofu dishes then this might not be for you 6.3/10. The pork over rice was so delicious the meat melted in your mouth and the warm rice paired with the pickled vegetables and tender meat was such a wonderful combination 8.5/10.
