Truthfully, I don't think woon is a must try. I think the portions are a bit small for their price and there weren't any distinct flavors that set these apart from a traditional Chinese restaurant-- I would even add that it's lacking. However, if I'm not comparing, then I would say the pork belly from the rice dish was really tender and melt in your mouth. You order at the counter and the food comes, so you don't really need to engage with the staff aside from that. The space is cute and cozy-- it felt like a dimly lit house kitchen!

Food is very well seasoned. I really enjoyed the texture of the chewy noodles and the wings are prepped well. The fried rice is less flavorful but I enjoy the mix of black rice within the rice. Service is minimal since you order and then sit down

Quick service and yummy food. Solid beef noodles and their scallion pancake beef roll was so crispy with lots of veggies! Love the homey interior vibes. Looking forward to going back to try some dinner items.

Absolutely delicious food in a beautiful environment. We tried the beef noddles, chicken wings, and the scallion pancakes. The wings were perfectly crispy, and the beef noodles were maybe the best I've ever had. The scallion pancakes were also delicious. We came at the perfect time, near sunset, so the lighting was perfect. The decor was minimal but stunning. Will definitely come back to try more next time I'm in LA!

I've been wanting to try this place out FOREVER! finally had the chance when my partner's school was having a small gathering here. The food, the service and the vibe was great! tried the beef noodles, cucumber tofu, tofu bao and the spicy mouth watering tofu. Each dish was so good! It's counter service style so you order inside, they give you a number and they bring the food to your table. Please note that portions are what we Americans would consider "small" but in reality, they are sensible. So take that into consideration when ordering. This place was packed as soon as they opened at 5pm through the time we left around 7pm. will definitely come back and try the other dishes.

TLDR: 4/5. For the amount of people we had, the portions were actually fairly good. Tasty overall, super attentive staff, small space but lovely vibe and sizeable outdoor area. Finally made it to Woon and I swoon!! Because this place is small we booked a reservation (8 ppl) ahead of time. Otherwise it could be tough without one depending on the size. Ordered: Scallion Pancake: 5/5 - I mean what is there to say, has a scallion pancake ever let me down? The fluffiness, the crisp, the butteriness, the dipping sauce. Finger licking good. Mama's Five Spice Chicken Wings: 3.7/5 - I'm pretty picky about my wings. With said don't get me wrong these are good but I just think it has the potential to really hit new limits. The seasoning could've been heavier but I do think this is a good app option. Spicy "Mouthwatering" Tofu: 4/5 - When a tofu is prepared right it can transform a dish. The marinade on this was nice and flavorful, but not too spicy for me, just a good heat. Pork Belly Bao - 3.8/5 - I wanted the pork belly to be a little more tender. It was a tad on the drier side. Otherwise this was a great mix of ingredients to have in a bao bun. Veggie Fried Rice & Pork Fried Rice - 4/5: With or without meat I thought these were both solid. Good amount too so great for the table. Veggie & Beef Noodles - I'll actually have to give it to the veggie noodles on this one! The beef ones were good but I felt like the beef itself was also a little on the dry side? I love this kind of noodle though. I also thought the veggie was slightly more flavorful. Service: 5/5 Everything came out super quickly but also well paced? As I said the staff were attentive. Vibes: 5/5 The evening was more of a moody vibe but it was perfect to me. I love that you can see them cooking in the front. The noise level was perfect with some good tunes. The outside has a good amount of stool seating with heaters in case its chilly. Parking is street and neighborhood but it could be a bit of a mission. Until next time!

A must-try spot for elevated Asian comfort food! This is a quick-service restaurant (order at the front then find a seat) with a cozy yet modern aesthetic. Arrived at 6pm on a Monday and there was no wait + plenty of seating. Ordered the wings, pork belly over rice, beef noodle, and scallion pancakes. These were shared among 2 people and we both left stuffed AND had food left over! The star of the show for me was 100% the beef noodles - the al dente handmade noodles absorb the umami flavor of the tender beef and sauce. What more do you need in this life?? This is not to say the other dishes were not good, though, because everything we ordered was delicious! Special shoutout to the pork belly - the fat was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. The wings and scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy. Can't wait to come back soooon!

food was good, but not outstanding. i think i was comparing too much to pine and crane. portions are a little small but i like that everything's so shareable! the decor and ambiance is sooooo cute

Frice rice was reminiscent of Japanese chahan and wings were crispy, tender, and juicy. Noodles were a little too chewy to the point where it felt undercooked (from someone that loves chewy noodles). Scallion pancake was just plain crispy dough with no flavor or chew. Bean curd was shockingly dry in the cucumber salad. Everything was a little overseasoned (too salty and to sour). Portions felt small but we left satiated and didn't pay an outragoeus amount of money. Barely anyone there was Asian but the population was largely millenial.

Really wanted to love this place because it's so cute, but was left disappointed because of the food. This is coming from a Chinese person, so I may have had higher expectations. Although this is a self-seating restaurant, the staff is super friendly and attentive. The line out the door was intimidating, but surprisingly went by really quickly!

This location is a neighborhood favorite, packed from open to close and for good reason. YOU MUST ORDER THE NOODLES. They are charred, umami, and have a kind of chew that you will not be able to stop thinking about.  Everything else that I tried was alright. The scallion pancakes were lackluster and overpriced. The pork bao buns were good, but unbalanced. The pork belly was soft and the pickles offered a nice tang, but the bite lacked an overall sweetness that would have helped round out the dish.  The ambience is nice, with small tables, short chairs, and tight spacing. It is a very homey feel. Parking is plentiful in the surrounding neighborhoods as well.

Wanted to grab some chinese food, so we checked out Woon due to all the online hype! Vegan tofu bao (3/5): I enjoyed this dish the most. I found the pickles overwhelming in terms of flavor, but i enjoyed the tofu and bao itself. The tofu was soft and marinated well. Veggie noodles (2/5): The noodles were way too hard. The flavoring is okay, nothing special. I wouldn't crave this dish or want to come back for it. Just an average noodle dish. Street parking and a small lot available. You order first then sit down and wait with your number. Service is very fast. Inside the restaurant, there's some cute asian inspired decor.

It was just so impressively juicy and tender with great flavors scallop crudo ($24) - juicy! Of course there are areas for improvement but they're not anything jarring that would lower my rating for this spot - it is also extremely rare for me to like everything i order at a restaurant so the quality is definitely there - super friendly and genuine service! Server took her time to explain and accommodate us - casual date night tapa vibes; not your typical bright japanese izakaya spots but more so a dark, moody bar vibe, which is cool - would recommend and come back to try other items! Majordomo seems to be trapped in an identity crisis: it can't decide if it's an Asian restaurant, a wannabe fine-dining establishment, or just a social experiment to see how much people will pay for "creative" lettuce. The "Bing" bread was actually competent--great texture, solid flavor and dip. I suppose the kitchen peaked in the first five minutes. It was all downhill from there. The tapioca noodles were a tragedy. They lacked that signature, satisfying chew you'd expect from actual quality Asian noodles. They were less "authentic comfort food" and more "sad, limp regret." Then there was the Bok Choy, which arrived looking like it had been through a traumatic encounter with a Brussels sprout griller, doused in some bizarre, creamy-sweet sauce that I can only assume was an accident. The prime rib? A masterclass in audacity. It was priced like it had been massaged daily by a professional athlete, yet it tasted like something I could order at a chain steakhouse for a fraction of the cost. The mushroom rice was equally salty and underwhelming--I've had more excitement from a box of instant mix. Majordomo is a fascinating place if your goal is to spend a small fortune to leave feeling more confused than hungry. If you're looking for actual Asian food, keep driving.
