The details: I normally don't eat a lot of meat, so I chose the Falafel Salad. It came with extremely little lettuce, plus a few olives (which I don't eat), onions (which I also eat sparingly), tomatoes, cucumbers, and the falafel balls. Oh! And there was feta cheese, but those were such miniscule pieces, and so few, that I wouldn't have remembered it was supposed to be part of the salad, if I didn't just pull up a photo online with their ordering system. What you see in the photo online is not what you get. The photo actually looks like a salad. Since it was called a salad, I expected there to be more lettuce, than the few pieces on the plate. I mainly was cutting up the cucumber & tomato pieces to go with the falafels. I don't even recall any dressing. There were also some pita slices with what I assumed was hummus. Whatever the dip was, it did not taste good to me at all. So I left all of the pita bread, as well, since it was dry without anything on it. Maybe what I assumed was hummus was a dressing. Hard to know, but it was not tasty. For the $27 I paid at a walk up counter, I would have expected much better food! I have bought frozen falafels at Lunardis (around $7) and made a salad for them at home, and enjoyed it very much, which is why I ordered it. I have purchased Spanakopita at the store many times, (about $5 for around 12 of them at the store) and made them at home, which is why I didn't order that. The falafel salad was not an enjoyable meal for me at Yiassoo's. I'd also seen some reviews from a few years back that said they paid around $10 or $11 for their meal. That is more in-line price-wise with what you get, based upon my meal. With most of the meals around $20 for lunch, I feel they were very over-priced. I also asked my friend if she'd like to split a Baklava. They had a pistachio one & chocolate one. My friend wanted to try the chocolate one, so I bought that. I didn't think I was too into baklava, but thought it might be nice to try at this highly rated Greek restaurant. The main flavor that came through was the honey & nuts. The chocolate was just a tiny, narrow drizzle on top. I didn't hate it, but I would never order it again. My friend took one bite, and said she mainly tasted the honey, and would take it home for her husband. It may be very good baklava, but it was not to our tastes. My friend ordered the Gyro salad. It had a large pile of shaved meat, and she seemed to enjoy it. She ordered it To-Go, as she knew she'd be taking some of it home. She seemed to have more lettuce under her pile of meat than my meal got. Maybe because it was in a To-Go box, which might be larger than the plate? Or maybe the person making my salad just wasn't paying attention to how to make a decent meal. I was hoping I was trying a restaurant that I could go back to for something different. Based upon my experience, I would not go back, if I had a choice. I gave it 3 stars, because maybe other dishes, or people looking to just eat meat or falafel balls and not much else would enjoy it. You can scan the QR code at your table or order at the front counter. We ordered from the front counter. We ordered the highly recommended Mousaka, the 3 piece plate with a side of green Greek salad. We chose the chicken skewer, pork skewer, and bifteki for our 3 meat choices as well as an order of Spanikopita. Our food was delivered to our table promptly. I grew up eating my Mom's Mousaka and I've eaten it in Athens, Naxos and Santorini. Let me tell you, their Mousaka was excellent. The eggplant, potato, meat filling and béchamel on the top were perfect. It's definitely a must try. The three skewers of meat were so flavorful and juicy. Both my husband and I loved it!! The pita bread it came with so warm and soft. The Spanikopita was fresh and hot. Delicious flaky phyllo dough with a savory spinach interior. The salads that came with each dish were also wonderful. Their feta on the top was so good and I loved the Kalamata olives. Customer service here was great. The young lady that helped us when we ordered was very friendly and helpful. Grilled Octopus was excellent as always, my favorite dishes here. Lamb Osso Bucco was served with orzo rice, peas, morels. Lamb was tender and well-seasoned. Tamarind Glazed Salmon served with kale and red quinoa. The salmon itself was good, but I don't think the quinoa was a good match with the dish. The flatbread was the most disliked item we had. It was a bit bland and too doughy. We enjoyed the Peyrassol Rosé (France 2025), which was not only nice to see but also nice to drink. Love the smooth texture and taste. Vanilla Crème Brûlée was enjoyable, the shortbread cookie was somewhat bland. Chocolate Date Cake was rich and quite sweet. Even we shared it among 3-4 people, we still couldn't finish it. Meyhouse Sunnyvale -- Excellent Food, but the Service Pacing Could Be Much Better…read more I tried the $44.95 three-course prix fixe lunch and chose the Köpoğlu as my meze, upgraded the main to the Adana Kebab for $3, and added the Künefe for $2. The food was the strongest part of the experience, and several things stood out more than I expected. The complimentary bread was excellent--warm, fragrant, and nicely textured. I also really enjoyed the green herb sauce served with it. The parsley and mint flavors were quite pronounced, almost grassy, but in a good way. It was fresh and aromatic and worked very well with the bread. The Köpoğlu was one of the highlights of the meal. The roasted eggplant, tomato sauce, garlic yogurt, and olive oil were very well balanced. I especially liked the garlic yogurt--the acidity, garlic, and creaminess were all present without any one element overpowering the others. The tomato added sweetness and acidity, while the olive oil rounded everything out. It was especially good with the bread. The Adana Kebab was also very good. My first bite came from the end of the skewer and was slightly dry, but once I got into the center, the meat was noticeably juicier. The char from the grill was excellent, and the lamb had a clear lamb flavor without being gamey. The chopped red pepper mixed into the meat also added another layer of aroma and flavor. Even the rice surprised me. It looked like plain white rice, but it was flavorful enough to eat on its own, with a noticeable buttery, almost milky aroma. The flatbread underneath the kebab was also very good after soaking up some of the lamb juices and fat. If I had one criticism of the main plate itself, it would be the proportion of onion-tomato salad to meat. The salad tasted fine, but for my preference, there was a little too much of it. I really enjoy the lingering flavor of grilled lamb, and while the rice and bread help carry that flavor, the raw onion and tomato act as a strong palate cleanser and erase it quickly. Since the meat portion was relatively small compared with the rice and salad, I would personally prefer a little more kebab and a little less salad. The Künefe was another highlight. I really enjoyed the contrast between the crispy kadayıf on the outside and the soft, warm cheese inside. The pistachios on top were not something I particularly enjoyed by themselves, but mixed together with the cheese, syrup, and crispy pastry, they made much more sense. The first few bites, especially the areas that had not absorbed too much syrup, were excellent. Toward the center it became a little sweeter than I prefer, but overall I still liked it very much. Food-wise, I would actually give Meyhouse a slight edge over Dishdash. There were more layers and more small details to notice throughout the meal, from the bread and herb sauce to the Köpoğlu, Adana, rice, flatbread, and dessert. The service, however, did not match the level of the food. The restaurant was quite quiet at lunch, but the pacing was surprisingly rushed. I had barely started eating the Köpoğlu when the main course arrived. For a menu specifically presented as a three-course prix fixe, I expected the courses to be paced more deliberately. Instead, I had to choose between continuing to enjoy the appetizer and eating the kebab while it was still hot. There was also an issue with clearing the table. One staff member who was not the person taking my order repeatedly tried to remove my bread and the green herb sauce. The first time, I specifically asked him to leave the sauce. Later, after I finished the main course, he came back and again started clearing both without asking. I told him I wanted the bread to go, so he left the bread, but still removed the herb sauce. It was a small detail, but it made the service feel mechanical rather than attentive to what the guest had already requested. Overall, I would rate the food around 8.5/10 and the service around 6.5-7/10. Meyhouse is a little more expensive than Dishdash, but the prix fixe lunch is also very substantial. I only ate about half of the complimentary bread, and I was already quite full after the main course. Finishing the Künefe left me completely stuffed, so the portion size is definitely generous. I would still come back. Next time, I would probably try the Ahtapot, especially since it is only a $9 upgrade on the prix fixe compared with $25 à la carte. The food gives me a reason to return; I just hope the pacing and attention to small service details are better next time.

Over the times that we've visited, we've tried their manakish, shawarma bowls, shawarma wraps, and baklava. - Manakish - We've tried their lahm bajin and their tri tip shawarma manakish. Their lahm bajin manakish is a classic/more traditional manakish. Their ingredient list may seem simple, but it's full of good flavors and they do not skimp on the toppings. Their tri tip shawarma manakish is something we'd recommend if you're not feeling to adventurous and want to stick with more basic/modern flavors. They also don't skimp on the toppings with this one. Expect the manakish to be thin like NY thin crust pizza, but maybe more soft/doughy. Portion-wise, one manakish can probably be 1-2 people, unless you're super hungry. - Shawarma bowls - We've tried their tri tip shawarma bowls. Each bowl is loaded with a good portion of rice, meat, salad, and pickles. There's definitely enough meat to pair with each spoonful of rice. The bowls are again, very flavorful and not too oily, which I appreciate. - Shawarma wraps - We've tried their tri tip shawarma wraps. Each wrap is filled with similar ingredients in the tri tip shawarma bowl and manakish, except it's in a wrapped form. The wrap is still loaded with good flavor with every bite. We've always had ours paired with a side of fries. Their fries taste fresh and doesn't have a hint of being frozen/previously frozen. - Baklava - We've tried their pistachio and walnut baklava. Even though the baklava is sitting in the dessert fridge, each piece tasted fresh. The phyllo dough was still fluffy with many layers even tough it was full of honey (yum!). They have a lot of seating indoors and some seating outdoors. If you're waiting for your to-go orders, they have water available. They also have a restroom for customers. All the times that we've picked up food, the restaurant has been kept very clean and neat. They have a small parking lot, and we've usually been able to snag a spot (except one time). Other parking options are street parking on the same side of the store or opposite the store (in the residential area or near the Salvation Army Thrift Store).

I've always felt relaxed when eating in the restaurant. Tables are frequently cleaned. The owner is very attentive, making sure customers are happy with everything. Their interactions with people are always very respectful and kind. Last but not least, the bathroom is clean, neat and tidy.
