I appreciate that, and that she's apologetic about it. I'm glad they have kimchi in the vege choice. I asked about wasabi mayo, which I never had that sauce, so she kindly gives me some sample to try. She also gave me yellow pickle radish in a small cup to try. She's very friendly. Looks like this place rebranded or something but my past couple visits were less than stellar as before. Let's first start off with the pros. Customer service is still on point everyone is very helpful and friendly. The fish is still fresh and tasty. Live ordering, paper ordering, or mobile options are still available. Now the cons: the prices have stayed the same (which isn't cheap) but the portions are way less than before. The customization choices have also decreased, though there are still plenty of options. Finally some amenities seemed to be broken. The restroom was out of order and their hot tea machine was broken. Some inconveniences that detracted from my earlier 5 Star rating. Don't get me wrong they're helpful and explain the menu whenever you have a question; however why are they condescending .. They genuinely seem like they'd rather be doing anything else. Theres two ways of ordering: on a ticket or at the front. I always order at the front and i honestly feel like they get passive aggressive when you DONT order on the ticket lol. Really disappointing experience. I placed a pickup order and the employee handling it was unnecessarily rude and dismissive when I asked about my order, acting like I was inconveniencing them. There was no professionalism or basic courtesy. To make things worse, when I got home I realized items I paid for were missing, which shows a lack of attention to detail and quality control. I want to like this place so bad but this is the only poké place that consistently gives me food poisoning.. I used to be obsessed with this spot a few years ago, even before they changed the name, would eat it religiously 2-4x a week until i got BAD food poisoning and literally passed out. I was in the area and craving again so I went back a few days ago with my family. All 3 of us got food poisoning the same day, which is how I knew it was from here. For me, my food poisoning reaction wasn't as bad as what I had experienced before, but my 2 family members were traumatized. I just don't think the fish is fresh.. The thing is, I love their selection of toppings and they really do fill up your bowl, but I literally only get bad reactions from this poke spot. Visited this place recently because I was disappointed by a place instagram recommended. Good thing Yelp was here to guide me and ended up here. Coming in I liked the place was clean and open. There was only one person serving taking orders and running the register but she was great she handled it like a pro. She was friendly and hooked my bowl up beautifully. It's very rare that I get full from a poke bowl but this was a good first. Even tho they may need to get the girl there some help service was great I don't feel rushed or like I waited too long. I forgot my nice sunglasses that my wife gifted me and the nice person working even though she was very busy took time to put them away and saved them for me I picked them up next day and was so relieved. Wow, incredible. Nutritious and delicious. Great value, perfect service. Ambiance is fine but the place isn't really meant to be a dine in place, I don't think, though there are many chairs...could be tight. Highly recommend if you want something delicious, diet friendly and with great bang for the buck. Been coming here for seven years. The last time I came they sold me a bowl with an avocado scoop that turned and was beginning to taste old. On my next visit ( approximately three days later ) if they could replace my scoop and the manager said no. This location has definitely leveled up imo. It is legit now my go-to Poke spot. I make the drive from Downey for work-lunch than any other local poke spot near me. Fish is still fresh, sauces still good. My issue before was the service, which has changed over the years. Its def gotten the corporate update haha at least no more lazy kids working there, at least not in my visit. Ordering process has improved. You can either wait in line, or fill out the Sushi-type of paper forms with your order + toppings. Pro-Tip: Order ahead through app/website. So as a first time customer who has never came to this location or even tried "WOW POKE" or poke at that in California I'm very disappointed in my interaction today. I ordered a bowl for my little sister online so I just came in and wanted to ask a question about adding another protein since it wasn't shown that option online. When I did ask, I was met with the manager (she told me she was) and stated they was taking the kids option down and tried to give me some sort of "heads up" because she said she's seen my name before. I told her dont just assume or judge because you recognize a "name". I work every day too and come across many names yet I don't just assume everyone is the same person I see because I see a same or similar name. I didn't like that at all and honestly upset that she wasted the little $ she does get on this. Also there's no corporation number or anyone higher than the person so I can't make a complaint so I'm resulting into here & will be letting social media know as well. Unfortunately today was the day, I came here today 1/16 at 12pm and ordered 2 small bowls and it was busy so I didn't mind waiting I got my food at 12:30. So I paid and I left going back to my car but it was wrapped poorly and my food came out and went everywhere so I went in to ask if I can get a new bowl at first. The manager said no that they can't so I left went back to my car. So I couldn't leave bc I spent $28-29? Looking at my transactions, they gave themselves a tip which came out to be $34 which I didn't authorize. Anyways I came out of my car and I asked again hey can I get a refund or make another bowl because the bag was wrapped poorly and she said that I should've paid attention but how is that my fault ?? I asked can I speak with the manager and she said she was the manager and she said she'll make another bowl but she'll charge me but it was their fault for not wrapping it or securing it ?? I gladly got kicked out of this establishment today and I'd do it again and again and again. Let me preface this by saying I have been a loyal customer for years and have lived in the neighborhood behind this place for about 10 years now. I have eaten here and given business countless times. Today was my last straw and I'm furious. Every single time I've come here I'm met with attitude and bad service, however I ignore it because it's so close to my house and convenient. The food is usually good so I try to overlook the snarky comments and bad attitude. Today I came in and noticed that they rebranded to wow poke. I haven't been in a couple months and this is new to me, but I walked in and waked up to order like usual. The young lady at the front told me " you are 8 orders behind you can go fill out a card for your order." I thought that was kind of a rude introduction but I didn't think too much of it considering they're ALWAYS rude so I said ok and sat to fill out my order as directed. I sent my daughter to go to turn in the order along with my credit card to pay for the meal while I watched her. The lady working the register directed her to go back in line and wait (which didn't make sense because when I walked in they sent me away but whatever) and when she let them know she wanted to pay they denied payment and told her to pay at the end. She came to sit back down with me and let me know that she needed to pee soo badly she needed to find an another bathroom. I looked at her confused because I'd told her to run straight to the bathroom when we got there so I assumed she already went, but she let me know that the workers denied her access to the bathroom when she walked in because she needed to pay first, then she said she asked an additional time when she turned in our order forms with my credit card in hand ready to pay. I became FURIOUS and I even verified with her before going to the workers to complained because I was so in shock they denied her bathroom access EVEN AFTER showing intention to pay and then being denied the option to pay. I went up to the workers and gave them a piece of my mind. They reiterated to me exactly what my daughter told me and then told me they are refusing service. Which was completely fine to me because I don't need to be giving service to this place any longer. My daughter is 13. Still very much looks like a young child. Denying a young girl bathroom access and putting her at risk of a UTI is insane and I'm done with this establishment for good. This is unforgivable. Do better. read more
