Yago is my favorite place in Long Beach to get acai bowls! The texture of the acai is absolutely perfect, I have had many acai bowls before, but yago definitely does the best texture wise. The workers are so nice, especially George! The owner is extremely friendly as well!! I love how they add so much fruit to the bowls, unlike other places where they barely add any fruit. I go there so many times, I wish they had a rewards system or a card, where we get a discount or a free bowl after purchasing 10 bowls (I been to many acai places where they do this) Overall, definitely get your acai bowls at Yago!!! The best. Simply put. This place has been my go to ever since I stumbled across them a couple months back. But today they really sold me on more than just their bowls. This morning I was in a rush and wanted an acai bowl to eat on the road. Unfortunately, they were unable to answer my phone calls for pick up. Once I get there and let them know about my experience, the employees were instantly and sincerely apologetic. One employee, Aaron, took it upon himself to fix the issue. He spoke to me and apologized for the inconvenience, then generously removed a portion of my total. I'm all for great food and products, but what really sells me is customer service. The employees didn't greet us, didn't help us, and didn't thank us for our purchase. The 3 workers spoke amongst themselves and didn't even smile! I was thrown off by their customer service skills, but I guess it's okay because the bowl was good. That really grinds my gears. I've worked for the food and beverage industry for a while and I at least managed a "thank you for coming by." You're the face of the establishment, the first person people see. I was happy for the quick service but the quality of food wasn't what I was expecting. When my roommate and I ordered they ended up switching our orders. Her base was with my topping and my bad was with her toppings. All the fruit wasn't blended completely either, so we had LARGE chunks of frozen fruit in our bowls. I also believe that they are on the pricier side because I have had other bowls for the price and twice the amount. So this morning I was looking for acai bowl places near me so that I could satisfy a craving my girl had over Coachella weekend and this one caught my attention. It was rated well and the name was the same as the bird in Aladdin which is one of my favorite Disney movies/the story of my brown life. This place has so much potential. The problem is that their organization and process to make the food is way off. The bowls themselves are great, but growing frustrated of the wait to get a bowl and how organized they are getting them to you. Today we did a phone order hoping it would solve the wait. Turns out they had 10 phone orders and they don't take a name when they take the order so locating your order is problematic.
