J32. Crab Rangoon (6)

Trying to find great Thai in the area. Decided to go outside the city, and this is by far the worst pad Thai I've ever had... The picture will speak for itself. Green bell peppers? What is the color? The sauces (yum yum & sauce for crab rangoon) also taste strange. Crab rangoons are fair. Definitely won't come back

Chicken pad thai was orange and didnt taste like anything! Green peppers do not belong in chicken pad Thai

Yuck! Very very orange color noodles. We're basically nonexistent being minced up! Had no flavor whatsoever, will not order again! Took over an hour to get my order by delivery

Really yummy food tucked away in an unexpected spot. General Tso's chicken & crab rangoon are my weakness and Yama Fuji did not disappoint. I'll be back again & again.

Grabbed takeout for dinner and the food was fresh and packaged well. Hot and spicy seafood soup was the bomb. Grubhub ordering was easy and paid with my card on file, only complaint was the timing kept updating for the order so I had to wait. Will order again though and try some other items!

Top to bottom - Sweet Potato Tempura Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, California Roll.

I went into Yama tonight for dinner with one other person. As I walked in I was surprised to see how modern and welcoming the decor was! The sign on the outside of the building leaves something to be desired. In fact - if I was going on just aesthetics, I would have overlooked Yama. My companion suggested this place and I am so glad she did! We were seated immediately and our table and surrounds were extremely clean. Our table was already set and the setting was neat and appropriate. Our server came over right away and offered a drink, I suppose they didn't have any verbal specials because none were offered. Throughout the entire meal our server didn't seem very interested in our table (and the restaurant was not busy). She was flat and gave short answers / very quick to leave the table. She seemed to personally know a patron that was sitting at the bar.. Meh - she was fine.. Now onto the DELICIOUS SUSHI! This was really why this place is getting a 4/5 rating. We ordered a few different things - California Roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, Sweet Potato Tempura roll and The Dancing Tuna Roll. All were fantastic - the favs were the Dancing Tuna and the Shrimp. We also ordered Miso Soup and it was perfect! It was really a top notch sushi experience. We did not order a dessert but I have to say that it was quite the impressive and tempting selection of very decadent desserts! Can't wait to give a few a try! The prices were great as well. The specialty rolls were moderately priced $10-$14 and came with 8 pieces. Most of the other "regular" type rolls were $5-$9 for a 6 piece. The prices were surprising for the quality - which was high. Overall this is a place I would recommend - mainly because the food was really wonderful. Give it a chance!

Valentine Roll!

I've never been more excited to give 5 stars to a restaurant in all my years. Easily the best sushi I've had in Rhode Island. There are so many reasons why I'm giving them 5 stars: the service, the cleanliness, the decor, and of course the food! The prices are good for the quality of food you get. We ordered the valentine roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy seafood, and spicy scallop rolls. All were fantastic with just the right amount of heat. I probably wouldn't get both the spicy seafood and spicy scallop as they are very similar but highly recommend either. If you are looking for something new to drink try the Japanese Soda! I'm a sucker for anything lycée so that was my favorite kind. I also tried the Strawberry flavor and it was good, not overly sweet. I can't wait to go back!

I've eaten here several times but not recently. My go to for Thai hasn't been open for lunch two weeks in a row. So I walked in here on a Sunday at noon. Place was completely empty. Ordered a cold Buddha beer & ordered Thai food to go. The young woman behind the counter was friendly & helpful. I ordered hot & sour soup, pork egg rolls, pad Thai with Shrimp & basil chicken. Everything was delicious & the portions were generous, I will be back soon.

With a 4.6 rating, we were genuinely excited to try it. Walking in, first impressions were great. The inside of the restaurant was super cute, the artwork was beautifully done, and the initial greeting was welcoming. Unfortunately, things started going downhill pretty quickly after that. We had a few questions about the menu, but the hostess seemed confused and didn't really understand what we were asking, so we ultimately just gave up and ordered what sounded good. Food-wise, it was very mixed. The sushi roll was phenomenal...genuinely the best part of the experience, and my son absolutely loved his. The shrimp udon was okay, but the portion was noticeably smaller than what most sushi places serve. The salmon poke bowl was very basic and honestly underwhelming. I also asked for spicy mayo, which was never brought out. The biggest disappointment was the service. Paying $4 for a canned soda with no refills already felt excessive, but when my son accidentally spilled it, we cleaned it up immediately ourselves. No one offered extra napkins, replaced the plate, or even asked if we wanted another drink. It just felt inattentive from start to finish. To make matters worse, one staff member was sitting at the bar listening to something loudly on a laptop, which completely took away from the atmosphere and felt unprofessional. As someone who used to waitress, I understand the service industry and I'm usually a generous tipper. But I also believe tips reflect service, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark. After picking up our receipt, the hostess was visibly unhappy with the tip amount and had no issue making that clear which only reinforced the poor experience. I very rarely leave one-star reviews, but for a place with a 4.6 star reputation and "top-rated" marketing, this was incredibly disappointing. Cute atmosphere and one great sushi roll aside, the service and overall experience were just not what we expected.

I am a sushi lover and typically when visiting I will get sushi. The sushi has always been pretty standard for me with no real stand-outs. I did visit a few weeks back and was really disappointed. The rolls had the potential of being unique, but the flavor just was not there. I got the Hot Lover roll and the Monster roll. I was just hoping for more with both. I enjoyed the Monster roll more than I enjoyed the Hot Lover. My party also ordered the Ichigo Wontons and Veggie Tempura. Both were also mediocre. I was the only one in my group to order an alcoholic beverage and everyone else ordered fountain drinks. Everyone got their drinks before I did (which I would understand as they were only fountian drinks), but we also got our appetizers before my drink came. It took at least 20 minutes for my drink to get to me. The drink itself was okay - I got a martini. Overall, I probably wont visit again unless I am going for Hibachi.

I've been coming to Haruki East for at least 15 years, which is probably the strongest endorsement…read moreI can give any restaurant. In a state with no shortage of sushi options, this has remained my go-to spot year after year. At this point, I think I've tried either everything on the menu or come pretty close to it. That's what happens when you keep returning to the same place for over a decade. The reason I keep coming back is simple: consistency. The fish is always fresh, the sushi is well prepared, and the food is reliably good. If I order something cooked, it arrives hot and exactly as expected. There are restaurants where you're rolling the dice every visit. Haruki East has never felt like one of them. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and easy to get to. The location is convenient, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. That's become increasingly rare these days. The only reason I'm stopping at four stars instead of five is the service. While I've never had a genuinely bad experience here, the last few visits have been noticeably slower than I remember. Service has also felt a bit inattentive at times, and these weren't during packed dinner rushes or busy weekend nights. Nothing terrible, just enough that I found myself waiting longer than expected for drinks, check-ins, or the bill. That said, the food continues to be excellent, and that's ultimately why I keep coming back. After 15 years, Haruki East has earned a level of trust that few restaurants achieve. When I'm craving sushi, this is still the place I think of first. The occasional service hiccup hasn't been enough to change that. If you're looking for fresh fish, a broad menu, reasonable prices, and a restaurant with a long track record of getting the important things right, Haruki East remains one of the best choices in Rhode Island.

(It was very cold outside.) To eat we ordered Tom Yum Shrimp soup (more spicy than we expected- and packed to take home), seaweed salad, garlic chili edamame (which we could not finish), tempura appetizer, and Ikura sashimi. It was all quite tasty. It seemed better than in the past. The service was cheerful and the food came out in a timely manner. We had not eaten here for almost a year but will do so more frequently.

The dishes are rich, occasionally greasy, but oh boy--are they packed with flavor! Curry, coconut milk, and spices play starring roles in most of the dishes. The fish soup? Absolutely delicious. It can be a gamble to try fish-based soup, but I trust how most Asians prepare it, so I went for it. No regrets! Here's what we enjoyed: Nanu Pork Dumpling: A sweet, scrumptious twist on a cooked sushi roll Mohinga: Fish-based soup with rice noodles, egg, cilantro, scallions, and fried split chickpeas (so delish!). Some awesome crispy appetizer (see pic) paired with hard-boiled eggs came as a side dish. The couple who own and run this spot are incredibly gracious, patiently walking us through what to expect from each dish. The wife is the head chef, and her passion shows in every bite. I believe they also do food truck events--I noticed their colorful van parked outside. This place is a must-try. Familiar yet different and oh-so-flavorful.

Place just opened when we went so we were quickly sat down as we were the only customer. The seating is limited as there are only 3 tables available. We ordered Burmese Milk tea, Fried chicken (Sweet), Nanu chicken dumplings, stir fried noodles, and Basil Chicken with rice. Fried chicken wings were crispy, sweet and savory. Nanu dumplings were topped with scallions , fried onions and spicy mayo and were delicious. Basil chicken was flavorful with hint of spice from basil. Stir fried was also topped with fried onions and was very flavorful as well. All the food did come with plastic containers so it's easy to take home if you have leftovers. First time trying Burmese milk tea and was good but I think I prefer Thai milk tea better. Overall the place was very good. Food was great, service was good and price was fair. Only downside was that the place is small with limited seating and the place was hot because it's summer and there is no AC. They have fan and we sat in front of it but was not good enough. I would order take out next time. Other than that it's a solid place.
