    Baked Salmon Roll
    Saphace A.

Ordered from here for takeout! I think it's only a takeout place anyway? I got the baked salmon roll while my sister ordered the sushi and spicy tuna (sushi rolls plus nigiri) with miso soup. The soup was generous! They don't usually give you more than a cup of miso and this was around a pint! Sushi was good too. Filling and fresh. Not bad for a takeout spot!

I ordered the dragon roll without avocado, and it was amazing! They also gave me plenty of eel sauce, which I really appreciated because I love eel sauce. The food tasted great, the service was fast, and everyone was kind. Overall, I would definitely order the roll again, it was a great experience!

    Scallop Sushi, Mix Sashimi Special

First, the young lady who helped me order was super nice. They have a picture menu on a tablet so you can see all of their offerings as well. Second, it took less than 5 minutes to get what I ordered. There is no seating, it's all food to go, but they do a great job with packaging. I personally didn't love the scallop roll BUT the sashimi - oh my goodness! It was so fresh!!!!!! Every slice was delicious and buttery. Perfect texture. Also, their prices are extremely reasonable. I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could honestly because they do such a good job with sushi to go. Fast, convenient, delicious, with a smile. Will definitely be back!

This place is so freaking good I've ordered it like three or four times since I found it in two weeks. You guys should open an actual restaurant. It's to go only and they do a really great job. ** I add my own avocado to the crispy

I am so glad I just discovered this takeout Sushi restaurant. Searching for poke actually led me here, but when I browsed the menu, I ended up ordering differently and it was delightful. This place is strictly pickup/takeout. No tables. Walk up to order on kiosk (card pmt) or with staff. Staff was available for any questions or if I needed help. I found the kiosk (there is only 1) easy to use. It took about 10 mins for order to be ready. I waited outside with a few others. Tip optional, but I appreciate the choices were 5, 10, 15%, custom or none....much more reasonable considering this is takeout. They do work hard and fulfill orders timely. Located in a small strip mall, there was plenty of parking when I arrived. This is a great alternative to a busy sushi restaurant when you are just looking for a takeout order. Price point was great as well.!

    Spicy Tuna Roll

I was able to get a few dollars off using DoorDash, so I picked up Spicy Tuna Rolls and a Dark Meat Grilled Chicken Bowl. The service was friendly and my meal was ready in less than 15 minutes. I appreciate the convenient location and extensive menu.

Was craving sushi for takeout, and decided to give this spot a try! I ordered through DD, and was happy with the presentation. 4/5 - Yellowtail Scallion Roll - This was decent, just felt like there was a ton of rice and couldn't fully taste all the flavors. 4/5 - Blue Crab Sushi Sashimi Special - This was also decent. Not the best blue crab roll I've ever had, it was a little fishy. The fish portions are thick though. Definitely fulfilled my cravings. Overall this spot is decent for what it is!

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Yanagi. Despite the rave reviews on Yelp, I kept my expectations in check--but for a little hole-in-the-wall sushi spot, they did not disappoint. For context, I love sushi and have had everything from top-tier omakase in Vancouver to unforgettable bites. Yanagi falls somewhere in the lower middle, but their spicy tuna over crispy rice and excellent customer service easily bumped my rating from a three to a four. I also tried the nigiri special, which was decent, but theabove average standout was definitely the spicy tuna. I'd return when in Long Beach and in need of a quick, takeout sushi fix.

This is a decent spot to order Sushi for takeout. They got some good and reasonable combos to chose from. Please note that if you order online you will be charged a small fee. I called them to order which was free.

The perfect take out sushi spot! Extremely good quality and very fast. The prices are average but I've never had anything bad from here! Never a disappointment.

Philly Crunch Roll, Baked Salmon Roll, and Dumplings with Spicy Garlic Sauce.
    Ariah L.

My first order with this business was Friday evening. I selected the pick up option which was ready in about 10-12 minutes. The location is easy to find and there was a good amount of parking. I was greeted by the staff upon arriving at the front lobby. The lady helping bag the order was friendly with I appreciate. I ordered miso soup, dumplings, Philly crunch roll and a baked salmon roll. Soup was yummy! Everything else was fresh and flavorful too. I'll stop by again!

They're always super quick with orders. The food has always been amazing and never disappoints. I usually get a salmon sushi special, the sashimi is always fresh.

First off, street parking can be a challenge, but we were able to find a spot right away. It is a very small restaurant, but kudos to the owners and architect who made really good use of the space. When you walk in, it is transformed, and you feel like you are in a whole different environment. The decor, the lighting, the layout, the furniture make this place spectacular and great photo ops. They have a huge TV for watching sports especially the World Cup, which was playing when we got there. They have a bar area. We got there right when they opened so I think the waiter was still setting things up, but was super friendly to us. The manager arrived and helped us since the waiter was still setting up. The manager, Carlos, was extremely friendly and helpful. And another couple walked in to eat, and they were attended to very quickly by the manager as well. We asked for ceviche, although we know they had just opened and breakfast was being served, however they were more than accommodating to get us ceviche. Even the tableware matched everything about this restaurant. I enjoyed the wood piece table wear and the set up. To start, we were brought tostadas. It looked like a couple of them may have been made with nopale, they were green. They included a roasted mild salsa with the tostadas. The presentation of the ceviche was stunning! They gave us a small jar of their salsa macha, which is an oil based red seed chili. It's amazing on everything, but especially on top of the ceviche. The portion was generous. They also gave us more tostadas and crackers. They also have unique desserts, I think I've read they make their ice cream in house and they had flavors like beet and avocado. Definitely need to try the next time I return. I highly recommend this place. I cannot wait to return to try their breakfast and other entrees. It's going to be hard not to order the ceviche as well because it's gotta be the best in the area. Definitely a new fave spot!

My sister and I visited this past --our walnut salad was fresh, the Riesling hit perfectly, and the calamari came out with that golden crunch to die for. But our server... all we could say was Steve, Steve, Steve!!!! He took the cake! Talk about impeccable service and making you feel genuinely welcomed--that's an understatement. This was my second time here, and I've gotta say, I think this has officially become one of my all-time favorites. Downtown Long Beach has always had such a fun, foodie-filled atmosphere. I know some restaurants are struggling, but it's because they didn't have the same atmosphere & service. The food is great, but what really stands out to me are the PEOPLE. Even the servers who weren't serving our table intentionally, smiled, and said hello as they passed. I even remembered one of the servers from my last visit and her sister because they both have some of the most inviting personalities ever. That says a lot about the culture of a restaurant. We also had the opportunity to meet the new GM, which was another nice touch. Great food. Great ambience. GREAT people. And Steve,,,you're the best! 10/10. We'll definitely be back. There is metered street parking and it's not too hard to find a spot. The decor is also beautiful and it's a wonderful ambiance with consistent GREAT service. On the real real- I am disappointed in the food. Each time. Every time I've been here I actually don't eat the food beyond a bite or tie because it's just not good. However, I will say if you are looking for a cute place to people watch on second street and grab a cocktail then this is perfect. I've tried over half of the menu and I've never been impressed with anything. I never can even get past one or two bites. I kept going back to give them another shot, but at this point, I've decided I can't recommend anyone to eat here, especially for the price point. This last visit I had an amazing bartender and preserved a poke bowl, ceviche, and shrimp cocktail. None were good and I can't even call them satisfactory. I had two bites of the poke and it was bland, boring, and actually tasted bad. Same with the shrimp. The ceviche was also off and my friend and I left full plates and no questions were asked as to why and if we liked the food. We didn't. Very cute place, friendly servers. Mediocre at best food, and very expensive. This 11th chance leaving disappointed (and hungry) was the last chance. I tried.

For starters, we got the Parker House Rolls, which comes with truffle butter, local citrus honey, and grana padano cheese. These rolls were so fluffy and flavorful. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!
