This was our second time visiting Alpine, Wyoming but our first time Yankee Doodle's cafe. The ambiance is so cute and patriotic with funny signs to keep the family entertained and giggling! The waitresses were so friendly and one had the best horror t-shirt ever! I had the French toast. It is made with Texas toast and piping HOT syrup! We also had the most beautiful yogurt parfait and hot chocolate, all were red, white and blue to keep with the theme of the restaurant! The chorizo plate was so big and tasty Ricco didn't even touch the tortillas! (Whoah) Lola had the chicken fried steak with thick, flavorful gravy. Ry said the hamburger steak was perfect fully cook and very savory! We will defiantly be back.... Come to alpine and stop in at Yankee Doodle's it does not disappoint! read more

When you are in small town, you can't be plucky about where you eat. The first place we went, both of us had not too good experience. Then we came here from previous reviews and thank goodness the reviews were right on. This place was so good that we came back the next day. We love the red, white and blue decor. We stopped here on the way back to Texas and it was some of the best home-cooked breakfast food we have had. The place is super patriotic and conservative which we absolutely loved and the service was great, even though the place was super packed and they were low staffed. Our server was SWAMPED with tables but she stayed sweet and helpful all throughout our time there. We will be back here for sure when visiting Wyoming! read more

BEWARE!!!! My husband and I stopped in for lunch 11.5.2018. We ordered cheese burgers and salads. The salads iceberg lettuce with no color, two tomatoes and a ring of onion on top. I took one bit of my cheeseburger and stopped as it tasted like bad meat. I went to the restroom before heading out and the walls outside the restroom were filled with offensive propaganda! A word of caution if you are of color or foreign born, I do not think you would feel safe! Nice American decor. Some 50's, 60's posters and memorabilia, a few 9/11 photos, etc. But we are there for the food; It isnt bad, not great, just typical diner grub. However, due to staff shortage the service is real slow. The waitresses try hard, but atleast 3 more are needed for busy times. A solid 4 star diner. read more

Pretty terrible food and obnoxious decor. Pack a peanut butter and jelly instead of planning to stop here. It's basically overpriced frozen gas station food. But at least the gas station doesn't have offensive GOP propaganda all over the walls. I love America, but this place needs to calm down. read more

Well, you are either going to love this place or be freaked out by it. The food was good (although I felt it was expensive for diner food) and our waitress was very sweet, but the decor and vibe of the place is terrifying. There was so much pro-gun stuff on every inch of the walls I was nervous the whole time that someone would think I was giving them a "funny look" and start shooting! It's nice to try out local places instead of chains, but the downside is you never really know what to expect when you walk in the door. In this case it was good diner food but printed off conspiracy theories and pro-gun posters hung floor to ceiling. So if that's your jam, you are going to love it! I just personally didn't feel very safe here. read more

So... I am not Caucasian. My skin is light brown. This by itself made the staff at this establishment think I'm Mexican. OMFG. REALLY? They sent their one and only Hispanic waitress over to me. This is after they stared at me and my husband as we walked in. IT WAS SO OBVIOUS. My husband (who is Armenian) was so dismayed by the blonde girl gawking at him he said, 'Hello' to her which made her look away. SERIOUSLY. WTF. We do not have any tattoos, I wear your run of the mill soccer mom clothes, my husband wears your average Levi's and t shirt... In other words, we look like regular people. There was only one thing separating us from everyone else in that establishment. And BTW I'm not Mexican. I'm Asian. Neither my husband nor I have an accent as we were both born in California. Not that it should matter AT ALL. I'm absolutely shocked. It felt like something out of a movie. Friends, racism is alive and well in these parts. I wish someone would've warned me before I made this trip. Anyways... THE FOOD, you ask? Average, AT BEST. The service? F- Better to starve than let the devil eat your soul. NEVER coming here again. Not much more than a small town cafe fronting for gas station food. The beef brisket hot sandwich was one of the worst lunches I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Looked like it was cooked and cut weeks ago, each slice frozen individually, then microwaved for my order. Tough, fatty, and drowning in bbq sauce. Other food orders in my party seemed better off, but far too expensive for the quality and quantity. The pro-gun, pro-Trump wall decor is a little much for a restaurant in my opinion. This was the first restaurant I friend when I went to Jackson Hole to ski for the first time since the house I was staying was right next to it. It fought me by surprise the amazing decoration, it was quiet when I went there and the service was good and the comfort food was what I needed after the flight from NYC. I like this place. Not quite a four star but it's close. Two things are clear about the owners; 1) they like guns 2) they like the United States of America. A family came in and the man was in the military and they made sure to tell him how much they appreciated his service. It was heartwarming and I appreciated the respect they showed him. If you're liberal, your views will likely oppose theirs, but who cares. You're here for food. You're practically in the middle of nowhere so who cares that the decor is every single thing the owners could ever find that has red, white, and blue?! I've been here both for breakfast and lunch. They have a full bar and also a coffee shop that has all of your favorite coffee and espresso drinks. For breakfast I just had eggs, bacon, wheat bread, and country potatoes. It hit the spot. No complaints. The Bloody Mary was also very good. For lunch I had a chicken sandwich and tater tots. Lots and lots of tater tots. Again, no complaints. This place is good. No frills. read more

Motorcycle trip July 2018 and we only ate breakfast, which is what this review is aimed at. Standard breakfast but really well done. The wait staff was great and very attentive. Some of it had to do with getting out of the pouring rain. I felt right at home in the place. As a veteran and a retired law enforcement officer I was honored to to support this owner. He or she is proud to be an American and a supporter of our rights, especially or 2nd Amendment Right. If you think America sucks and can do nothing right you might want to keep driving and buy a hot dog at the gas station. read more

The first time I went I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger (with veggie burger substitute) side of sweet potato fries and a coffee. I didn't expect it to be this good!!! When me and my family walked in, we were greeted with kind servers and excellent service. Everything came in on time, and our server and even the manger made sure that we were taken care of. I hate to get into politics, but they definitely "leaned right." Which was totally fine! I lean left myself but I loved the all American theme and the decor!! Very cool and unique! Food was excellent and excellent service! We went back a second time and this time I got breakfast the Veggie Omelette with a side of potatoes and some coffee. We also brought some pie home. The omelette was very fresh and juicy! The potatoes were fantastic and the locals sure love this place, it was packed! One local (who served in the navy) even came over to talk to us for a bit ! If you want breakfast in Alpine, this is pretty much your only choice. We jokingly call this place Donald Trumps Play Pen. It's as far-right of an eatery as I have ever been in. Second-Amendment posters and printed Right-Wing facebook meme's adorn every wall. Every scrap of decor is adorned with red, white and blue Americana kitsch. Don't ask for French Fries or French Toast - they are known only as "American Fries" and "American Toast" here. *sigh* However, the food is totally mediocre. The coffee is super weak, the biscuits are hard and dry, the cheese on the omelette is that classic orange, velveeta slice. The grits are terrible (I think they were just Malt-O-Meal). The only things on the menu that I consistently enjoy is the oatmeal, the pancakes and the "American" Toast. But even as a Veteran this place just puts me off. It's one thing to be proud of your country, but this place is just so over the top its derogatory. read more
