Not sure they are following guidelines to well. This is how the coffee carafe came out. Saw only 1 staff member wearing a mask. Some social distancing on 1 side of the restaurant but not the other. Hubby had the Meat Lovers omelet. Said it was fabulous. I had the original Benedict. The hash browns were great. Portion size was large, biscuit was a bit gritty? Maybe cornmeal? Overall it was meh... coffee was really good. They offer box lunches at 10 bucks which is a unique idea that we liked. read more

We had breakfast here and it was pretty decent. The waitresses were quick and friendly and got our food out to us fast. The food was typical diner, nothing to go crazy for but the servings were generous. The decor was patriotic and very pro-gun so if that's not your cup of tea then get over it or don't stop. read more

This place is good old American food. Never been to a place like it! Good place for kids grab and gramps bring the whole family. This place is almost always busy but worth the wait and can't beat the price. The sweet potato fries are amazing! Can't believe I have never been here in all my years of spending time in alpine! We were starving and came across this small hole in the wall breakfast/ coffee shop in this small town. Very affordable, hardy, and rewarding warm home cooked breakfast. The meal was OK, the service was fine. I'm leaving giving one star because of the décor. The cafe is decked out in blaring red white and blue with patriotic art, very appropriate theme. While waiting for the restroom, I was looking at the bric-a-brac. There were a few political cartoons bashing Obama which is to be expected in this part of the country, but I did not expect left to find a picture of Adolf Hitler and a quote from him. We ate at Yankee Doodle Cafe on my way to and again on the way out of Jackson. Even my 13 year old son said I need to give them a positive rating on Yelp lol. The food is amazing and the owners are patriotic as they come! The decor is not a gimmick at all for them but what they believe in! As an active duty military, they bought my dinner and that was by all means unexpected. The family loved the food and couldn't wait to stop there on our return trip through the area...we had a table full of chicken fried steaks (huge portions to boot). My daughter is a vegetarian and they took care of her as well with a great pasta meal. We had breakfast on the one day and it was awesome! Lunch for the return trip and again awesome. This is only the second review I have bothered giving on yelp but the place is just that good! Keep up the great food and we look forward to making the Yankee Doodle cafe a must have if we are ever in the area again! Make this a family stop for yourselves! We just had the prime rib dinner at Yankee Doodle in Alpine, WY, only available on Friday or Saturday's, 5-9pm. Very reasonable priced for a huge 20 oz, tender and delicious piece of prime rib. (Best we have ever eaten anywhere). Included in the meal was asparagus, mashed or baked potato (We opted for loaded baked). Soup or salad (We had salad), and hot rolls. This business does not want your money. I mean really. We stopped in here for breakfast, a lil' ol Americana cafe in a town with few options. I mean it's Wyoming, right? We got a big ol' truck with Texas plates, I am a third generation military brat on both sides of my family and proudly born at Wright Patterson AFB, thank you very much. I respect and honor our veterans as much as anyone in this country. But shockingly, I am a registered Independent, this business makes NO bones about despising anyone who does not adhere to a rigid GOP belief system. It's obvious, there are books mocking Democrats front and center, there is anti-liberal/progressive hate speech in the freakin' decor! Now, this guy has a right to run his business anyway he sees fit, but y'all have a right to avoid the place if you don't want to feel insulted and belittled for not towing the GOP line. read more

But the hours seem to have changed and they're only open until 3pm now and we weren't aware of that. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you don't have a lot of options, but I don't have any ill feelings towards the place. My husband and I stopped for breakfast one Sunday morning. We were afraid and almost kept going. So so happy we took our chances. Tables were bussed quickly and there was no wait. Our order was taken and very shortly after came a heaping pile of yummyness, and at a great price. Their all American pride showed in quality all around. All the staff help each other in all areas.
