    A little gem

Cute cart that serves up delicious Greek donuts. Pro tip: consume almost immediately as the joy diminishes fast the cooler they get. I look forward to trying their savory items. Friendly guy doing everything at the cart. Seating might be allowed at Lucky Lab.

Little bit difficult to find. Hard to see from the street, but literally behind lab and very close to the food cart. Spanakopita was delicious. The other one with the sausage is amazing. The sausage is really big for only $5.50 and super filling. It's like a hotdog in a puff pastry with some cheese I think. So delicious. Got a whole meal for 10 bucks plus tip. Amazing in today's economy

This Greek donut cart is located in the parking lot right next to Lucky Labrador pub on 9th avenue. After reading about their background, I really can appreciate the hard work it took for the two brothers, to dedicate their business to their grandpa. For a savory item I purchased the spicy sausage roll. The sausage was well seasoned and had a really nice kick to it. The exterior pastry was delicious and flaky. I also ordered the whole flight of loukoumades since my daughters were with me and they couldn't decide on what to narrow it down to. I have never had a loukoumade but it really was a treat. The complimentary elite weekend dish we tried first was the original with honey. They had a resemblance to tiny footballs. The dough itself had a really beautiful texture. The exterior was perfectly fried and the inside was soft and airy with a satisfying chew, reminiscent of mochi almost. The honey coating was really tasty at first but it got really overpowering, especially with the pieces at the bottom that soaked it all in. The hazelnut was delicious and not too heavy. The kids didn't want the pistachio bits on top so I can't comment on that. Last but not least was the caramel coconut. The caramel was a thinner gooey glaze. The nutty coconut flakes broke up the richness of the caramel and also added unique textures. This was a personal favorite of mine. Overall the one brother we interacted with was kind and knowledgeable, giving us honest expectations for wait time. Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. If I'm in the neighborhood and craving something sweet I would consider returning for sure.

Having been here before and trying the standard donuts I wanted to try the other flavors. I would probably just stick with original because they are really tasty. These were good, and messy, but just didn't hit the same. Don't get me wrong, if you're thinking about it you should try because at the end of the day, they're still going to be delicious. The quality is already there and the portions are quite large for the price. A small is enough to share. They also have some tasty beverages at a reasonable price too. We had to try a peanut butter version because you don't usually get that as a beverage option. Really enjoyed, not sure my drink even made it home before I finished it. Funny thing was there was so much flavoring and foam in it that after I finished the first I added more liquid for a second drink. And yes, it still had plenty of flavor.

Always amazing! The conversation are just as good as the food, thanks for sharing your heritage with us and educating us with knowledge about food and culture. It made our snacks so much more lovely. In a great spot. Grab a drink at Labrador and wash it down with some delicious donuts!

Service 10/10. Food 8/10. Ambiance 8/10. This cute sweets food cart is the perfect way to end your visit to the brewery next door if you have a sweet tooth. The LouKoumades are delicious. We tried the Chocolate Pistachio, Caramel Coconut and the Traditional Honey Cinnamon, and that's the order in which my taste buds preferred them. The Spanakopita (Spinach pie, flaky dough) is also delicious, particularly because of its flaky texture. The Mocha is not their strength, mine was watery and the flavor was as if one poured chocolate powder into instant coffee. I've never been to Greece, it's quite possibly mocha coffee is different over there. Service is AMAZING! A big smile, nice treatment, accurate description of the product upon questions, explanation of the making process, on time delivery of the goods and as predicted. Although this is almost an hour away from my house, as I re-read my review, I'm thinking of driving back to give the guy who prepared our LouKumades a bigger tip!

Never had Greek donuts before and blew it out of the donut world! So delicious. Got one of each flavor and glad I did - they were all so dang good! So soft and yummy. Service was great and recommendation was on point. My favorite was the chocolate pistachio, with the caramel coconut in a close second, the traditional honey cinnamon was also great too. Very gooey and loved the presentation. Also the cutest food cart around.. located in the Lucky Labrador parking lot, down past the Hawthorne food carts, parking can be hard to find on the weekend, but it was a Great sunny day for some donuts. They do have a picnic table to enjoy right there, but I took mine home to share with B (barely made them home with only a few left).

Finally tried these donuts and I recommend eating them fresh because it's so good when they're nice and warm and crispy. I thought the chocolate pistachio is going to be the far favorite, but I also really like the original it almost had like a tea like flavor to it. I would put that in the chocolate pistachio close as my number one flavors. The staff was very friendly also, but the hot chocolate could be a lot sweeter. It was very light almost tasted like water to me.

Very delicious doughnuts! Perfectly fried but still soft and chewy on the inside. They were light and airy but full of flavor with their toppings. My personal favorite was the caramel coconut for a sweet and salty combo!

Delicious. They were perfectly chewy, crisp on the outside, and melted right in your mouth. The staff was very nice and answered any questions that I had. I learned they do rotating flavors so I would definitely come back to try more!

Visited the food truck after a morning at Hopscotch with my toddler. It's a short walk away (4 blocks) in the Lucky Lab parking lot. No wait on late Friday morning, and the donuts were made fresh for us in about 5 minutes. All the flavors looked tempting but we went for coconut/caramel. We seriously overestimated how many we could eat -- the medium size would be good for a family of 4, there were probably about 15 pieces in there. (They do display containers so you can get an idea of the donut count.) Will be back the next time we're in the area and need a sweet treat (which is always).

After passing by a few times before, I decided to check them out yesterday. Since it was my first time, he suggested that I should start with the classic honey & cinnamon. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised how many I got for the small size. They were fresh from fryer - hot, crunchy on the outside and glazed with honey. I really like the crunch! And it stayed crunchy even til the last one. Next time, I'll try the chocolate & pistachio one. They also have a 3rd flavor: caramel & coconut. They're located at the parking lot of Lucky Lab but only open til 5pm, so a very short overlap with Lucky Lab's hours (opens at 4:30p). There's one picnic table next to the cart where you can sit to enjoy your donuts.

Found loukoumades in Portland, at long last! Have been dreaming of these little nugs ever since attending the Cleveland Greek Fesitval almost 20 years ago. Before I gag at the thought of adulting for nearly 20 years, let me turn my attention back to these little beauties. Yanni's does them right-- you get a generous portion of steaming hot fried dough balls. I got them traditional style, drenched in honey and coated in cinnamon. Each one was a little pillow of delight. Pro tip: Dig down to the bottom and dip the top ones in the melted honey that pools down there. Yum!

While I do gravitate towards the donuts first, I know they are also famous for their chai. So if you are a chai fan don't skip that option here. I just had a chance to interact with their mobile food truck at an event, which was such a fun aspect to the overall event. I got a quad of donuts and a chocolatey chai! Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!
