Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I would give them no stars if I was able to. I made reservations 1 week prior for 8pm dinner. We got there at 8pm and waited to be acknowledged about 20 min while standing at the host desk. Finally a waiter came to greet us and escort us to a table. We waited 30 min before water came to the table, placed drink ordered that took another 45 min and food order took over 1 hour. Food was burned and not edible. I am from California and have only had great experiences at the yard house so when I made these reservations for my family of 12 I thought they would have a great experience. Location and Parking Yard House is located at Atlantic Station, Parking in in the underground garage and is free for the first 2 hours. Venue and Atmosphere We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess; it was after 9 pm on a Tuesday so no need for a reservation. The restaurant features table and booth seating, as well as a full bar with TVs all around playing various sports channels. They also have a patio with generous seating and ceiling fans. The bathrooms are clean. Food and drinks I ordered an Ace Pineapple cider while my partner ordered an old fashioned. Yard House's claim to fame is that they have over 30 beers and ciders on tap. While the cider was delicious, the old fashioned was not the best. I guess their specialty isn't cocktails. I then had the jambalaya pasta. While the portions of seafood were generous, the cajun flavor could've been a little more potent. My partner had the pizza with pepperoni and sausage, which was very good. Service Our server was kind and brought us to-go boxes without having to ask. I love it when a server can sense that I'm getting full lol. I know some people yardhouse is overpriced, but it's not really. There's a few things that are a little high, but most of the food is about average. My seafood jambalaya was LOADED with shrimp and crawfish. I got the small portion for $15.99 and it was more than enough for two meals. The drink prices aren't bad either. Note, you're appetizer will arrive with your food. That's how it works at every yardhouse I've ever been too. Negatives: Please clean the bathroom. They could give Chic Fil-A a run for their money. They smiled and asked if I needed help before I even said anything, then checked in when I was still waiting. I kept it simple for lunch. Located on the edge of bustling Atlantic Station, it's one of the many eateries here. YardHouse is simple and has a wide variety of menu options and I am a girl that like options. This is more of a sports bar but the vibe is a good one so I recommend this spot for sure. Our server Adam was super sweet and personable. He was knowledgeable and quick to get things out to us. And I'm a stickler for good service. I ordered the gardein wings and the calamari. Both were equally delicious. The wings were a little to saucy for me but anything that's a deal breaker. The calamari came out fresh and hot. And after 3pm Monday-Friday the appetizers are half off, and who doesn't love a good deal. Unfortunately, drinks aren't including in happy hour. Went here on a whim after ice skating and it was a mixed bag experience. We were quoted a 30-35 min wait for a party of 5 which wasn't terrible on a Friday night. We waited much less- probably about 15 min which was great. The "mixed bag" part came when we sat down. Our waiter was friendly and nice however, the food (not his fault) was a toss up. My friends pizza came with only half cheese and the manager had to come to our table to offer her a remake and compensation; my other friends calamari appetizer never came despite asking for it before our entrees; and they brought me regular fries instead of the truffle fries I ordered (which was an upcharge) I enjoyed the tuna sandwich but my friend said her salmon was just okay. Also, the virtual menu thingy wasn't working so we weren't able to pay that way. I will say the manager and waiter were accommodating when it came to hiccups in the kitchen and compensated those who had a less than optimal experience due to kitchen error. Location and Parking There are two locations, in Atlantic Station as well as The Battery. I've been to both, but for this instance we were at the Atlantic Station location. Parking is in the underground garage. Reservations, Venue, and Atmosphere We came around 5 on a Tuesday so we didn't have or need a reservation. If you are coming on a weekend or are part of a large party then I would recommend it. The venue is a little elevated from your typical sports bar, but it still has the same overall feel. Table and booth seating, a full bar with TVs all around playing various sports channels. They also have a decent sized outdoor patio. Food and drinks My friend and I came to their happy hour, which is Monday-Friday from 3-6pm. This is where I was honestly a little disappointed. They have specials on apps and pizzas, but not any drinks. Our server told us that they used to at some point but now they no longer do. Needless to say that took some of the happy out of my system. My friend and I started with Miguel's queso dip as an appetizer. It was a pretty big portion, definitely good for sharing. It was served with both tortilla chips and flour tortillas. Both were good but I personally enjoyed the tortillas more. For food we both got pizzas, the Margherita for my friend and the carnivore for me. The carnivore was absolutely delicious. I couldn't take it with me and I was actually sad about it. I didn't try my friend's pizza, but she ate all of it so I can only assume that it was good. For drinks I started off with the Southern Rush, which was ok, I can't say I'd get it again. For my second drink I had the Old 43, which I liked a lot more as it was stronger. My friend also had two Old 43's as well. Service Aside for our dinks taking a little longer than usual I don't have any complaints about our service. Kay Kay was our server and she was pretty attentive and checked on us often. Verdict Yardhouse is a good multipurpose place. You can come here with friends, family, colleagues, a current or potential boo, possibilities are endless. There are good options on the menu and a nice vibe. While on a date with the sweetest guy, he picked Yard House as he's the biggest baseball fan. I was instantly immersed into the restaurant's vibe, upbeat personalities of the staff and prepared to have a great meal. Well I was a little thrown off by how slippery the floor was. Initially thinking it was just by the kitchen but to my surprise it wasn't. With that in mind, I suggested we just grab a bunch of appetizers and drinks to continue riding the upbeat environment. What a great decision. We talked, laughed and shared appetizers. He didn't like the Brussel Sprouts and I couldn't identify whether or not they had been fried. I can tell you that the sauce was not balsamic... BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS! It was a nice surprise but there's something beneath that phenomenal sauce I couldn't identify. This was actually my first time eating here and I couldn't decide on what I wanted to eat? The server recommended the Fish Taco, Baja Shrimp Taco and Carne Asada Taco. All were delicious and came with rice and beans. The resturant have dim lighting all through out the place and even in the bathrooms. It is also spacious. I've written a total of two bad reviews on yelp ~ and this is one of them. To start, terrible management. Unwilling to address any valid concerns and provides only hollow apologies. Second, staff is in need of need retraining (if there was training to begin with). Addressing only large parties at the expense of smaller ones is inexcusable - tending to smaller parties only when it suits them, advising that a dish is not available 20 minutes after initially ordered, 40 minute wait time for delivery of food, and cold food when delivered is absurd and inexcusable. I would recommend anywhere - and i mean anywhere - other than this travesty of an establishment. Ownership should take a hard look at its team. read more
