Came here recently for dinner. The place was packed but I went online ahead of time, and was able to put our name on the wait list. When we got there, we only had to wait about 10 minutes (not bad at all). There was some sports conference going on that weekend, so the restaurant was completely filled. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio that is still indoors, but has a lot of open air. It was definitely quieter out there and has a nice view of the lake. The food was really good. We tried the vampire tacos and the Shrimp Bowl with quinoa. My daughter enjoyed the vampire tacos, but said she thinks she'd be just fine with the regular ones next time. Having more than one with the cheese coating felt like too much. My bowl was so delicious. It had quinoa on the bottom, along with asparagus, bok choy and mushrooms, as well as 5 perfectly grilled shrimp. There were other veggies too. The sauce was amazing. Their Kendall Jackson Chardonnay was excellent also. I felt like the pricing was fair for what we ate and on par with the other local restaurants. We'd definitely go again. This is one of the best spots in Rio! Whether you are going there on a date or a business lunch there is some thing on the menu for everyone. The food is great. The drinks are amazing and the service is pretty quick. This is a pretty popular spot, so I don't recommend for intimate settings, but definitely for large groups and those who are sports enthusiasts. Been here a handful of times now and recently learned it's a Darden's restaurant. I guess it's in the middle range in terms of price (there's Olive Garden and Longhorn on the lower end, and Eddie V's and and The Capital Grille on the higher end). There's no reservations available so anytime after 4pm, you'll likely be waiting quite a while. I suggest going on their website and getting on their waitlist as soon as you can. The food hasn't been all that disappointing but nothing to sing home about either. My favorite this far has been the ahi sashimi and shrimp bowl. Most of their dishes seem to have an Asian flare (with all the bak choy and seasoning style). Their happy hour menu is the best deal- lots of wings and thangs to check out for just half price. Likely why there's a huge line until 6pm, which is when HH ends. Drinks have been par - it's a good bar scene with the huge bar and massive seating areas. I've sat outside and inside. My favorite is the booth - super hefty and comfy. Service has been good. Nothing really to complain about other than the long wait and the food leaving something to be desired. That's especially true for the new menu item- porcini crusted halibut. It didn't taste or feel like halibut at all! We had a bit of a disappointing experience that I want to share as a caution to patrons. I called two days in advance to see if the BHA/Liverpool FA Cup match would be available for viewing (Saturday afternoon our time). I was assured that it would be. Upon arrival we asked to be seated so we could see the match and were told "no problem". Have I foreshadowed enough? We were finally told Yard House did not carry the match Now then, not every sports bar can carry every game but we had called ahead and organized a trip out to Rio and now it was really too late to generate a Plan B. We left without trying the menu so this review does not cover service or food but it is a reflection of general organization and customer orientation. Our weeknight visit started very well with the hostess, Rylie. She greeted us with a smile and found the perfect table for us on the deck. It got cool as the sun went down but the patio heaters kept the chill away. Our server Ernest was friendly, knew the menu thoroughly, gave us excellent recommendations, and took wonderful care of us. Rylie came by later to check on us - so thoughtful. The menu is broad and the food was delicious. This place is great. You don't truly need a reservation if you don't mind waiting time (ours was less than 5 mins), but I would recommend one in case it's busy, or you don't want to wait. The parking is unreliable, but there are plenty of places you can park, but fully utilized. The service is great, and at most of the tables, they have a tablet which you can order food, drinks, or even play games from if you'd like. You pay right on your table on that tablet and it even prints the receipt for you. Basically making it unnecessary to make the waiter go back and forth. What a great idea! The food here is great, would highly recommend their "poke nachos", as they are delicious, and their carnivore pizza (all meat) was very good. Overall, this place is great. read more

It's been a while since I dined out around here, but since it was a much larger venue, I decided it was safer. They have several implementations and precautions. They require you to register for contract tracing before entering the place and once you are seated, you are then looking at the menu through a mini device. It is a bit harder to see because of the User Interface and probably wished there was just a digital menu to browse through. Everyone was wearing masks and they require you to wear masks as well. The food came out as I had remembered them. I really do enjoy the happy hour menu and it makes this place that much more enjoyable. The selection of beers and wines are good especially around the immediate area. I was not much of a fan of the cocktails as they appear watered down to me. I think I would stick with the wine and beer selections as it felt higher in alcohol concentration. My favorite dish are the poke nachos and the ahi tuna. They really make this place worth it without making you feel heavy. They have plenty of parking right next to the place and there are several garages nearby. When we first drove by Yard House, there were many people waiting outside and it took us 10 minutes to find parking. We eventually had to find parking in a different lot and walk over to the restaurant. My family put ourselves on the waitlist an hour before arriving, but we still had to wait 30 minutes before we received a text to be seated. For appetizers, we got firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, and the onion ring tower. We also ordered the lemon pepper dry rub boneless wings, and I chose to get two Baja shrimp tacos, which came with spicy rice and beans. There were ~3 fried shrimp in each taco with a refreshing small scoop of guac, cabbage, and sriracha aioli for some spice. When eating the taco as intended, it was delicious, but the shrimp itself was flavorless. Even though the two tacos appear to be small, they were satisfyingly filling and I actually didn't have enough room in my stomach to eat the rice and beans. So I asked for some and more pickles and ketchups and more spicy mayo. Took a long turn to get that. Never got the extra spicy mayo. Gross tasted low they were house made but tasted exactly like a baked potato. Then asked our server if getting the cheesecake brulee would take a long time. Bc everything too forever. Was reassured no. Waited 20min and no dessert. We decided to close out and go home. Food was alright. Service was terribly slow even though our server was nice. Hubby and I decided to grab food at Yard House whole we were out on the town. We were seated fast, which was not always the case. Server was prompt with our drink order. I've been to this location three times now. The first time was for a burger promotion last year and it was pretty good. The last two times have been during covid times and they both differed in experiences. The most recent time, which was about three weeks ago, was great. I ordered their poke nachos from the late night happy hour menu and it was delicious. Fresh, crunchy, and full of flavor. Def a must get if you're a poke fan. The service was quick and fast. My sister and I were going back and forth for weeks hunting for a midday lunch spot for my niece's graduation. We didn't want a fancy place, but something more exciting than a cafe and had outdoor seating so everyone would be comfortable. It was a hot day, so thankfully we were going to be placed in the shade. I was shocked by how HUGE the place was. It's really humongous. Anyways, we walked through, got seated outside, and we brought waters almost immediately. We got physical menus, and realized that happy hour hadn't long started! Thankfully most of the appetizers that we wanted were on there, so we went to town. We got two orders of wings, and got to try 4 different flavors, like lemon pepper, whiskey something (lol), BBQ, and Korean. They were all phenomenal, and what made it even better is these were VEGAN. So the thing is that they don't have many vegan dishes necessarily, but they will swap the meat in a huge selection of their items for Gardein (vegan chicken). So these wings were vegan, my mom's HUGE chicken nacho platter was vegan (and delicious), and my chicken and pancakes was vegan (and even more delicious!). And most of these things were on happy hour! FYI their happy hour is on weekdays from 3-6, and excellent VEGAN food is like half off. It's outstanding. And yes, there are also drink specials. This is our favorite place to go when it's us and the kids. The menu is extensive and has so many hits. The happy hour deal is awesome. We arrived at just minutes before it ended and our sever Nate was on it! He was amazing. He was at our table with a mission to get our order in under the wire and he did with 30 seconds to spare. I handled the cashier $200, yeah I didn't have 52 cents and I was planning to leave a good tip as usual; The cashier give me back the change in couple $10 and $20 ROLLED , WITH NO RECEIPT , I put on the table $20 tips waiting for her to bring whatever left of food in a small box for my kids; during this time I counted again the change it was only $59 ( $59+ $20 for tips I just left ) that's $79 !! Where is the $20 ??? Yard House is definitely a welcome addition to Rio for a sports bar, American food, and late night scene. Lots of seating indoors, and out, a good number of TVs, but not an overwhelming amount considering it's a bar. It has the most surface parking of the Rio restaurants, so you likely won't have to deal with the garages, which lets be honest, are never a fun experience here, but at least they are all free. The aesthetic is clean and modern, lots of daylight from the windows, view of the bridge over the pond, cool-toned, neon purple lighting at night. Depending on the day of the week and time of day, there will be a lengthy wait, but no more than the other restaurants in Rio. I don't believe they take reservations, but you can call ahead to get on the waiting list so that's helpful. Having been over 10 times now, I feel I can share my thoughts with confidence about the consistency of my experiences. The food seems reliably tasty. There is a ton of variety in the menu, including vegetarian options. They have Gardein chicken alternative and the Beyond Burger, vegan mozzarella, and some gluten sensitive options. Don't know if you have to specify the burger needing to be cooked on a separate grill top so that it's actual vegan, but the potential is there at least. I enjoyed their Octoberfest specials this past fall, and their regular menu item, fried chicken is also a favorite of mine. The Vodka pasta dish is simple and satisfying, I ask for chicken because I am allergic to shrimp which it is usually served with, but my sister always enjoys the shrimp when she orders it. The happy hour special on weekdays, 3 - 6 and then again 10 - closing Sunday thru Wednesday, is an awesome value for food! A good variety of their appetizers are half price, as are their pizzas. It's a super affordable way to do American bar 'tapas' with a group or get an affordable meal for one haha The only let down is they just got rid of their pork lumpia which were super tasty. Can't imagine why. So why with all these positive aspects is this a 2 and not a 4 or 5? The experience is always kind of lack luster. You should plan for it to be a long meal, like really long. Service is always sooo slow. Servers have all been friendly and accommodating, but the kitchen takes forever and a day seemingly no matter what you order, or how busy they are (or aren't). There also is a weird attitude you get off of management. I don't know quite how to explain it, but its an aggressive vibe, totally unlike any waiter or waitress I've ever had, which again, all super nice. One night it was getting close to closing, and they started to raise the lights some before last call and turn the music waaay down, like practically off. I understand they want to start tidying some stuff up and also remind you that it's almost closing. But then a few minutes later they turn all the lights WAY up, like reflecting off the dishes into your eyes bright. If we had been hanging out for hours I'd get it, we should go. But they seated a table of 4 of us with the intention of serving us entrees that they let us order, so it was a real disconnect on whether or not they really wanted our business. We asked the manager if they could turn the lights back down and the manager responded very aggressively that the lights were "their policy." To which we politely pointed out we understood turning them up some, but that the second time the turned up the lights, the level was making it actively difficult to continue eating. The manager literally huffed at us that they would go turn it down because we "had" to have it that way...it was a super uncomfortable interaction. Personal disclaimer, I know I have more social anxiety than most people, but I really go out of my way to be nice to people because I don't want to be rude or confrontational. This manager was crazy aggressive about a simple request which, if they didn't want customers still eating at that point, they should have told us the would not serve a full meal when we walked it. Service seems to have slipped. Especially at the hands of our latest server. He was all smiles, but after initially bringing our water, he seemed to disappear for long periods of time. He seemed very aggravated over a miscommunication with our appetizer, even though we were polite to him. He wasn't mean, but just didn't seem interested in being our waiter. We never got our paper napkins, even though our fingers were covered in buffalo sauce. We had to flag down one of the assistant servers to bring them after a while. We only got one straw. So I've been here 3 times now and today was the third time. I just keep forgetting to write a review. First I'd like to say they have a great happy hour that is Monday thru Sunday until 5pm. The service is excellent and the overall ambiance is nice. I love the chicken tortilla soup, and they're pizza is pretty good. I did not like the ranch salad and the queso was just ok. One of my good friends tried the beyond burger and she wasn't impressed. All the ingredients - the avocado, serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aioli, cilantro, green onions, nori, and sesame seeds - just all combined for such rich flavor - Chicken Nachos - I cannot comment much because I did not eat a lot of this portion, but from what I heard, it was not too heavy and tasted good. However, I did notice that it was a little watery which caused some of the chips to be soggy, but the taste was still overall good - Spicy Jambalaya - overall pretty good, a tad on the saltier side by preference but good on the spice and mix of blackened shrimp, andouille sausage, crawfish, and chicken. VIBES The place was pretty crowded which is a good sign that the restaurant is more on the popular side. This is definitely not a place to go to chill since conversations are pretty hard to hear over all the noise. It was a big place with lots of seating. Hit the Yard House for happy hour during early Friday evening crowd. Got there right at 3:00 and were seated after a reasonable wait, considering the crowd. Took way too long to get both our drinks. My wife's wine came on time but my beer was way too long. I ordered the House IPA and after a wait the first waitress told me they were out of the House IPA but she put me in for the house Lager. I declined and had another long wait until I finally received a Voodoo Ranger Juice Force IPA. Took over thirty minutes to receive my first drink. I attribute the excessive wait to too few wait staff. We ordered three half price appetizers that were reasonably priced and tasty, but two of which were delivered cold. The boneless chicken wings and hamburger sliders were cold but the pizza was nice and warm. All in all, the experience was not the greatest due to these issues although our serving waiter Sean was excellent. I kind of like this place. The food is way better than Pour House, and they have happy hour so you can try a few things and get to know the place before bringing the family and spending hundreds. But a big peeve of mine is sitting around dirty tables. Imagine your neighbor inviting you over for dinner and there's crap everywhere, you have to sit in a couch because the dinner table is covered in dishes from their lunch...you wouldn't feel comfortable, much less welcomed. You feel like a hinderance, like you should leave and give them time to sort out their issues. That's how I felt here. I took a date on the patio and although they have beautiful tables along the lake, we couldnt sit there because they were all covered in dishes. We sat back in a corner against a wall a stared at the filth for our entire meal. Nobody came to help, nobody tried, nobody apologized for the mess. EVERYONE, the host, the waiters, the food runners, ALL walked away with empty hands, leaving the dishes for us to stare at while they're literally walking back to the kitchen where the dishes go. Our waiter didn't know anything about the menu or ingredients but at least he asked the chef. But he was too dumb to tell me the fries weren't gluten free when I ordered an entirely gluten free meal, told him if my allergy, and paid up for the gluten free bun. Overall this is a good restaurant with bad management. I don't even blame the staff because they're clearly not trained. I'll go back for takeout or sit at the bar that's it. read more

We went as a group of 6. From the moment I walked in, we were welcomed & all our requests were accommodated, even having to move tables because of an overly boisterous table next to us. Our waiter, Gerry, was excellent, very attentive, answered all our questions and was very mindful to note food allergies throughout ordering entrees & dessert. All our meals were prepared as requested, inviting food presentation and deliciously prepared. We did save room for dessert, but had to share. We were a little disappointed that they didn't have the Chocolate Fudge cake as that was the 1 item a couple of us wanted and also someone with nut allergy can have. "It's always something!" That's my opinion of Yard House's food. My wife and I have been to Yard House 3 times. On the first visit, we ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. My steak bowl had overcooked beef along with ridiculously large pieces of beef and vegetables. It's not easy to cut things in a bowl. On the second visit, we ordered 3 things again. My wife's vampire tacos had oily deep-fried cheese tortillas that tasted of curdled milk. On this visit, we got Miguel's Queso Dip, Whiskey Glazed Salmon, and Sesame Shrimp Noodles.    Miguel's Queso Dip had cheddar, pepper jack, queso blanco, roasted poblano peppers, guajillo chile, chipotle, soft flour tortillas, and chips. The flavor came from the cheeses with a little from the chile peppers. It was mildly spicy. It got very thick as it cooled, so eat it hot. Nothing special about the soft tortillas or chips. This dish had a decent blend of flavors.    The Whiskey Glazed Salmon had whiskey black pepper glaze, parmesan mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and grilled baby broccoli. The salmon had a great grilled flavor. It was moist and tender. The whiskey sauce had a superb balance of whiskey and sweetness. The sauce was only brushed on top, not marinated. The dish came with a ramekin of whiskey sauce. The mashed potatoes were made with real potatoes. There were 3 carrots, one orange and two yellow. They were easily chewed and slightly sweet. There were 3 stalks of baby broccoli. They were cooked well and tasted typical. This dish had great salmon and sauce. The rest were alright.    The Sesame Shrimp Noodles had rice noodles, baby broccoli, carrots, kimchi, green onions, sweet chili garlic sauce, and cilantro. The sauce had a mild flavor of red chile, garlic, and sugar. It was so lacking in flavor and depth. There was a sufficient amount of medium size shrimp, but hardly any vegetables. Everything was cooked properly. I wouldn't get this again until the sauce is improved and the vegetables are increased. It's always something! The cooking in this place brings to mind a Meatloaf song. And all I can do, is keep on telling you I want you, to cook please But there ain't no way I'm ever loving all these Now don't be sad 'cause two out of three ain't bad    The dining room and restrooms were clean. The service was polite but minimal. The server took our order, the food was delivered, and we paid using the tablet at the table. The tablet accepts credit cards. We saw our server 3 times. Two visits were at the end. When she showed us how to pay on the tablet and when she gave us the receipt.    The best part of Yard House is the beers. They have 100 draft beers on tap and a large number of seats at their huge bar. The variety of beer is astonishing. The name Yard House comes from a "yard" of beer, a glass approximately 3 feet high with a bulb at its base. Yard House doesn't serve true yards anymore. They have a version of a half-yard, which contains about 32 ounces of beer. The food is a gamble, but the atmosphere and drinks are fine.
