The Yard House is an interesting Darden concept. It's very much like BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse and other tap or ale houses. The half yards of beer or cider represent a good value, and the serving implement is quirky. The small bites and entrees are rather costly considering their quality, but it's comparable to similar institutions. The beer list is expansive, and contains a handful of private label beers, which are for the most part above average. I do have some concerns about the maintenance of the kegs and their corresponding line sets, however perhaps that is because they are visible at this particular location. The music here is supposedly curated by somebody with a pedigree in retail music curation. The playlist is heavy with alternative rock, and mid 90s "rock" chart toppers. Which while is lacking, is refreshing considering the mundaneness of most bar and restaurant music selections. I wouldn't mind hearing some Alice In Chains, but that could be antithetical to their desired mood, however it would fit in. I would typically recommend the Yard House for their M-F 3-6pm happy hour. They have many shared plates, appetizers, and many of their pizzas for half off. While not glorious, they'll fulfill your hunger after a few mammoth servings of beer. Their full priced entrees are again somewhat steep and underwhelming. Parking is another minor qualm, while the garage is gratis, it's often somewhat irritating to have to engage in communal mall or office building parking in order to grab a bite to eat and a potent drink. Food is good, service is good...but I'm just super disappointed that I went in and ordered a small cobb salad with chicken - primarily for calories and also for price. I got the salad and had no idea if it was a small or large, and of course ate it. Then when we get check, I was charged for a $20 salad and I recalled on the menu it was way less. So not only did I spend $20 on a salad that I didn't want to spend, but I also consumed the calories which is the most frustrating as I'm watching my calorie intake very closely and trying to keep it within reason. One of the better places at the Music Factory. We went last night at 9 -- it's nice to have places in Irving that are open later now. The menu is really large. I had a yuzu gin cooler (ok, I had two) which was delicious. We skipped appetizers in favor of getting straight to the entrees which was the right decision with just two of us. I don't think we could have finished all that food if we had ordered more. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. Apparently this is one of the more popular dishes and I can see why! Yard House was very crowded on a Wednesday night around 7PM, with almost every chair around the bar filled and two birthday dinners happening. However, my boyfriend and I were actually able to be seated immediately much to my surprise. Our waiter immediately came by to ask about our drinks and run through the menu with us. We anticipated waiting a little bit for our entrees so we ordered the Onion Ring tower sans the parmesan cheese dusting on them. I also ordered a side of their (really really delicious) housemade barbecue sauce to dip my rings in because the only sauces it came with were ranch- or dairy-based. The rings were delicious and the perfect amount for two people, although four people would be able to share them as well. We ended up going simple and choosing burgers. I ordered the Kurobuta Pork burger, which comes with arugula and a blueberry ketchup, and he ordered the Pepperjack burger, which has a giant slab of poblano pepper on top. My burger was delicious, but a little dry since I ordered it without the cheese. I ordered extra blueberry ketchup, which sounds odd but is probably my new favorite find, and that helped for the most part. The fries were perfect and delicious! I've been to 3 other yard house locations but i generally get happy hour items. They are delicious but this was my first time trying items off the regular menu. The quinoa bowl is the truth!!!! My husband and I Loveeee this yardhouse! We frequent this establishment at least twice a week. They have a reverse happy hour for food and drinks. The food is fantastic at a fantastic price 1/2 off M-F 3-6, and Sun-W 9:30pm-11pm The bartender, Michael, is always attentive and welcoming! The sliders are great, and are enough to share. I think Yard House is well known for their variety of drinks/alcohols, not many dine in but it's not a bad place to dine either. Also tried out a dragonfruit lemonade which tingled my senses hence it was the perfect amount of sweet and sour. My bf got a regular ribeye and I got the Korean ribeye. The Korean ribeye seem very burnt to me, not sure if it's because of the sauce. The Korean ribeye fries was good and it reminded me of a spicy rice cake sauce. We also ordered tossed chicken wings and I had question the waitress if they were wings as in bone-in and she yes. They were not, more like tenders or boneless wings. It was drenched in sauce and my bf did not like it but I didn't have much of a problem. Apparently it's tossed in the 2 choice of seasoning you pick and I guess we didn't pick the right one. I came here to celebrate my birthday on the 3rd. This was one of the best experience iv had in a long time. My waiter Will was super nice and friendly. My wife told him it was my birthday and he made sure we had a good night. We sat down with in 5 min and it was pretty full that night. Will told us about the specials that night. While I've only visited for appetizers and drinks, I definitely recommend Yard House. This location in particular has great service and it's a great atmosphere for both midday business meetings or the happy hour crowd. I've had most of the apps, the nachos are probably my favorite. Nothing like nachos that have toppings on every chip! I hate when you get nachos and there's only toppings on that first layer. That's never been the case with Yard House. The tuna ahi poke stack (I think that's right) is delicious as well. Not something I'd typically go for, but definitely glad I tried it out.
