Yard House is a huge restaurant/bar in Lombard and offers great options for all types of eaters. We went on a whim for an affordable and hearty dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant is huge and was busy. Pretty full, and that was surprising. Our server was very nice and the food was fairly prompt. While we did want to get a bunch of apps, we figured the portions were going to be hearty (and we were right). I ordered the orange chicken, which came with a side of rice, and the portion was hearty and filling. It had a great kick, a little more than I expected, and enough sweet to make the dish balanced. My guest had a burger and really enjoyed his meal. It came out with fries and he loved it. You have lots of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options here. I wasn't looking to drink, so I got an Arnold Palmer and my server continued to refill it for me, which was great. The service was great, we were in and out fairly quick, and the food was delicious. It is cute inside. lots of TVs The hostess was ok but not very friendly. she sat us right next to the server station and it wasn't busy at that time we got there. There was only 2 of us. Also there were a lot of tables opened. We asked to be moved and she said there would be a 20 minute wait. which I don't understand because there was nobody waiting behind us waiting at all. And there was quite a bit of servers. Our server was fine. We got the chicken nachos. It was OK but nothing right home about. We won't get them again. we also got the salmon and surprisingly the salmon was pretty good. The mashed potatoes were cold and the vegetables Some of them were burnt to a crisp but overall, I would get the salmon again just different sides. We also got the cookie brownie Oreo with ice cream dessert. It was ok but very dry!! So far, we're not impressed and probably will not be back. read more

This is not your friendly Chicago neighborhood pub. This is a semi upscale restaurant that happens to have about 60 bears and decent food. The atmosphere is nice and I especially enjoyed the patio area. Service was great for the party of 4. We had a great time sitting on the patio drinking and watching soccer. Overall it was a good experience but the food is lacking flavor and very bland. We had the lobster pasta, boneless chicken, Cobb salad and lemon pepper chicken. Drinks were good but a couple of times they messed up with placing a lemon versus a lime ‍ that completely changed the flavor of the cocktail. Overall a good hangout experience read more

Came on a Thursday and it was jammed like this was the only place around (it's not). Bartenders were great and beer glass never went empty. 2 stars is on the price of the food and the quality. The BLT is $15.50 with fries. The bread was cold and stale and the bacon was extremely salty. There was hardly any mayo on it and the lettuce was wilted and soggy. Fries were cold and no seasoning. Very loud inside plus they had the football game at full blast. Maybe I caught them on a bad night may try again as I will frequently be in the area for work. read more

If they had only added toothpicks it might've been all right by the time I got home with my order. Instead, everything fell apart all over in the to go container. Also, it was stacked so high yYou really had to eat the pieces all over the container with a fork. You couldn't make a sandwich out of any of the pieces. It too, tasted like it was made with older food or food that had been defrosted to use - another disappointment. Ate some of both but ended up throwing out the meal. I can't believe I've been missing out on Yard House this whole time! I've heard of it plenty of times from friends and others (shoutout Julia from JuliaTriesEverything on Delish) and have heard good things. I came here with my sister on a Sunday around 12ish and it was really easy to get a table. We were sat immediately but the place definitely wasn't dead! The Bears game was on and customers at the bar were very into it, which I always love seeing! The restaurant is BIG and the parking lot is spacious. The hostesses and our server were all very friendly, as well, and I enjoyed the atmosphere here a lot. My sister got a dirty martini and I got the sunset sangria. Both were good drinks and the cocktails here are super reasonably priced, especially compared to the city of Chicago's prices at restaurants! We got the poke nachos which I LOVED. I can totally see why they're a fan fav - the sauce and fresh tuna was a hit. The actual wonton chips were thin and flakey but still yummy. We got the BBQ chicken pizza which was good, but we wouldn't get again. The pizza is flimsy and the ingredients came off quite a bit when eating it or picking it up. I'd definitely order the poke nachos again and would try lots of other things from their menu. Overall you'll definitely catch me at Yard House again! Great spot for happy hour! $2 off beers & half priced appetizers weekdays 3-6pm. I might be biased as I've basically been going to Yardhouse for happy hour since college. But this location is just as good as the ones I've grown up on in California. Great beer selection with a handful of local options. As far as food goes, I recommend the sliders, nachos, and poke nachos. Pizzas at this location can be hit and miss, but all in all still a great bang for buck. Kids meals are also a good value if you plan to bring the little ones. Parking is plentiful. Plan to get there by 5 or earlier on Thursday or Friday nights if you plan to catch the last hour of happy hour specials. That's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers! read more

We went to the yard house for a friend's birthday party. All of the food was an amazing. I loved how they have other vegetarian options available. I got the blue cheese burger, which was amazing and tasty. I got to try my hubby's beef sandwich. I actually got to sample allot of different foods, my friends and I did it like family sharing style. My absolute favorite was the Brussels sprouts, it comes in a sweet and spicy sauce. It was so good, we had to get a second plate. The server did an amazing job to make sure we had all of our food and he checked in with us. For your birthday they give a free dessert. Also, they have a paying station right on the table. So when we were done, we didn't have to wait to pay. Because we were a larger party I wasn't sure how we were going to break up the bill. The pay kiosk allowed for me to pick the teams I wanted to pay for, that was convenient. I would recommend yard house. read more

On Friday, 12/19, I had placed myself on the Yardhouse wait list-it stated 30 mins. I arrived with 10 mins to spare , however, After arriving and checking in I was advised it would be 30 (more) minutes! When I questioned this and explained I had already put myself on the waitlist 30 minutes prior, and it's already been 30 mins, all I got from the host was a mumble and blank stare and no clear answer on how much time remained before we'd be seated. The young girl was rude and rolled her eyes. Very frustrating and off-putting. As I waited for my table, visibly upset, another host struck up a conversation with me and was so polite and personable, she explained the wait time quotes clearly and communicated to us exactly how long we had until being seated. I think her name was Kelsey and we really appreciated her hospitality. It set the tone for a lovely evening at Yardhouse after a very unprofessional initial interaction. Yardhouse really needs more caring, compassionate people like Kelsey instead of the young girls who can't speak clearly to a customer without being outright rude - if it wasn't for Kelsey speaking to me, on her own accord after hearing/seeing the initial conversation, we would have left your establishment-to never, ever, return. Personnel who are rude or seem to be put off stay with me, and affects my decision as to whether or not I'll be back. You definitely have an asset with Kelsey!!! Keep her!!!! The food is standard bar food, American cuisine. I ordered the salmon, it was OK. The carrots Were not completely cooked, but they were edible. The ahi tuna has always tasted fresh whenever we visit and I'm not sure if it's ponzu and spicy mayo, but it he sauces that go with it make it delicious! I highly recommend the poke nachos as an appetizer. I could honestly eat a plate by myself and be satisfied. As far as the other food goes, the burgers are alright, my server didn't ask me how I wanted mine cooked and it came out medium well ish, I prefer medium. The apps aren't too shabby, but like I said, their poke nachos are the go-to. My wife tried their pineapple chicken that came with a teriyaki sauce that was really good, so we would recommend that. First off, very nice place to hang out and catch a game. Plenty of screens and a variety of seating options. All of which are in view of a screen. The food is average bar fare, with some entrees not traditional to a sports bar, such as a ribeye or salmon. They have a nice selection of craft beers.......So it's slightly upscale for your average sports bar. The decor and service is slightly above average and the dark wood accents, booths and dim lighting may give a steakhouse feel.......They also offer split billing and you can pay on a device at your table.......Very convenient. Now, the place is very busy and they don't allow reservations. The wait can be up to an hour, which is quite a long wait for an upscale sports bar. Also, the parking lot is dimly lit, with some light out, which makes it hard to see when parking. Overall, I enjoy the environment but I don't enjoy the wait. read more

Definitely recommend the happy hour menu if you can make it in before 6pm. Great quality apps - nothing I've had has been less than great - ahi sashimi tastes fresh and delicious, calamari is great, poke nachos are really good! The brussel sprouts have a tangy spicy sauce on it (gochujang?), love the cheese curts, and the thai style chicken lettuce wraps as well. This time I was served by a male bar tender that looked like he had been sleeping in his clothes or in his car for a week I sat at the bar for a meal and a drink as I had a few times before. I sat between an open seat and there was a corner type seat that was not a seat you can use to eat with the bar service area, fruit trash etc. , I ordered food and and a drink, I observed some folks looking for a seat, I offered to move to my left but they too didn't want to sit at that edge seat. I got my food and was eating when another 2 persons came over and they asked if I would move, I said sure but not to the corner seat. Bar tender comes over and says hey every seat is money etc. I said I absolutely understand that, but now i have three or 2 plates in front of me and a drink, I told him I'd be happy to slide over once I'm done, but please I am trying to simply enjoy my meal I'm not going to move all my stuff at this point. He was clearly upset and he began to tell fellow workers of course not knowing or telling the full story, as if I was some inconsiderate person, at this point I spent $65 for food I never ate. I felt so bad, I hurried up to clear my seat and I boxed up the food for my dogs and left. I don't normally review negatively for individual incidents, but I feel this conduct should be at least brought up, if the business thinks the bar tenders conduct is appropriate then I'm wrong. read more

The presentation is great, but oversll the food was ok. Nothing special comes to mind which is disappointing because even the Korean bbq didn't feature the unique flavors typically found in that experience. With every dish you're left yearning for a bit more. The fries were oversalted to the point where it almost ruined them. Some dishes like the four cheese spinach dip were surprisingly bland as well. I dinged the restaurant a star for service. My waiter was not very attentive. And it appeared she acknowledged my boyfriend more than myself. She took forever to introduce herself, take our order or ask what we were drinking. She forgot my entire lemonade though she managed to bring my boyfriend his Long Island Iced Tea. She disappeared for long periods of time and rarely checked on our table. The food was standard. We rolled in with a group of eight people and, while they only take "call aheads" for six (at most), they were able to accommodate us despite it being PACKED. And this place will get that way around meal times, especially in the evening. That said, the staff handles the crowd very well. Everyone in our group had drinks at the bar first but seamlessly transitioned to the table (when it was ready) for a full meal. Yes, Yard House is a large national chain. We went in with lowered expectations because of that, but we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. We were seated quickly and courteously in the modern and nicely designed space with lots of TVs tuned in to sports. Tables were spaced far enough apart for easy access and the seating was comfortable. Moderately loud pop music was playing but not so loud that we couldn't have a conversation. The only slightly puzzling part of the ambiance were the small screens on each table that were never explained or used. Service was friendly and attentive. Yard House is known for beer, and the server was knowledgeable about the selections my wife asked about. I am not a beer person, but their cocktails were also very good and there were some nice choices. The food was better than I expected and we both really enjoyed our meals. Pub food, yes, but a big enough menu to cover most tastes and enough twists on traditional dishes to be interesting. We had a great dinner and came back a second time a few weeks later for an equally solid experience. I am sure we will be back again! read more
