We stopped by Yard House after a movie. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Plus I got carded, so that put me in a good mood. We already knew the prices going in, and it's not like Meridian has a shortage of less expensive restaurants . I'm pretty sure a lot of Village business comes from Eagle anyway. I don't think we really spent any more than we would downtown, and it's closer to home. We tried the firecracker wings because they have a plum glaze. The plum flavor isn't as present as the plum glazed wings at Bardenay but I guess that's why these are called firecracker wings and those are called plum glazed wings. I prefer the sweetness of the plum glazed wings, but if you want something more savory, these were cooked just right and had a nice kick to them. I also tried the Black Orchid: raspberry vodka, Curacao and watermelon liquor. So yummy. If you like boozy Popsicle flavored martinis (and clearly I do), it's great. The restaurant is a bit louder than Kona Grill, and the menu perhaps too extensive, but I'm sure we'll be back for drinks some time. Then again, Twigs is opening soon... read more

Went to dinner here. Due to so many people being here, we had an hour wait. When we finally got seated, the selection of beers was incredible. The dinner we ordered was excellent. The filet was perfect. While I have the Yard House 5 stars, I did have an issue with the choice of beers. When I travel, I like to drink local. Their local selection was non existent. This is a franchise business. They do not take reservations, which is OK. When you finally get seated to your table after an hour and a half in Idaho it's crazy. Your with a group of friends. You order drinks have appetizers. Then a mixed couple showed up and is totally dismissed by this establishment. We weren't able to order drinks, food or anything because they were so focused on all the other tables other than us. For at least 45 minutes. We do understand that Idaho is the far right extremist racist, but being the Yard House should be able to try and the employees to not see through racism. My husband bought the steak and he sat there for 30 minutes waiting on sauce. It's price on the menu is $38.00 but when we got the bill it was $40.+ we asked for sauce for the steak and the waitress said what do you mean? I have no idea what you're talking about. I haven't worked for that long. So we had to have another Ray tryst bring the steak sauce. I we only got two drinks appetizer and an entrée and we were responsible for $150 bill? There is absolutely no justification for drinking two drinks have an advertiser and entrée to cost that much money. Something is definitely off with this establishment. I know it is in a high profile establishment but this is Boise Idaho. This is not New York your prices need to reflect with the income as of the region. Came here for beers & that's exactly what we got. Altho we were disappointed when we were told we can't order the "Shorty" size beer. So you were stuck with a pint! Hope you like the beer you tried. Beer selection is obviously great & the menu has a lot of options that sound delicious. We got the crab/something something dip with pita bread and chips and it wasn't anything special. While visiting Idaho with my girlfriend in September we had the pleasure of dining at Yard House on a Saturday night. We had a party of five and the place was busy and clean and not too noisy. The seating was very comfortable as well. Our drinks were tasty, my girlfriend had the Pomegranate Margarita and I had the Grand Patron Margarita and the food was awesome! We had the Onion Ring Tower, one person had the Lobster Garlic Noodles and I decided to try the Lobster & Shrimp Agnolotti, it tasted so good! In 2012 Darden Brands, the food conglomerate that owns Olive Garden and Red Lobster, bought the Yard House brand of restaurants. This one in Meridian is part of the Yard House chain. Imagine how poor food might be at rubber-stamp-over-long menu and kitchen with Sysco quality pre-packaged food at one of these type of mass market chain restaurants and you would be right for the food here. Not to mention the plastic flash-n-dazzle interior with multiple TVs and pack'em-in tables. It is unfathomable that people would choose to eat here more than once. Marginal quality and the prices are high to cover all the marketing costs of the restaurant. Then again, different strokes for different folks. Maybe way back at the time the Sly song* with that refrain was popular I might have even thought this was a good place. (I did love that song.) But now I've enjoyed enough good food, which does not mean expensive food, it means good food, and service to know better. If you're OK with Darden Brands mass market food, this could be the place for you. We won't return under our own steam. Came in for late lunch so it was pretty empty and they were able to sit us down quickly. The waitress was nice but the service was slowwwww. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and my associate ordered the Hawaiian pizza. It took about 40min to receive our meal in a near empty restaurant. We ended up with empty glasses for 5-10min waiting for drink refills. When the food finally came out my burger was good but cooked more well than I asked for. This place has quickly become one of my favorites. Their menu is incredibly diverse. I've had everything from salads to pizza to burgers to steaks, and it's been excellent every time. Their happy hour menu is great and convenient, and their drinks are always delicious. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes for a great atmosphere for any occasion. The bar is HUGE, and a great place to go when waiting for a table. The servers are always friendly and attentive... And did I mention the food? i dont usually review chain restaurants but since it's the only one in idaho i figured why not? it's definitely worth reviewing too. we came in on a saturday for lunch. no wait. the inside is so hip with unique art along the wall and the most gigantic bar in town. it was nice and cold and dark in there- i just love the atmosphere that yard house creates. it just makes you want to come in and never leave. our server kind of sucked, i'm not going to lie. he had the personality of a raisin. boring. never engaged with us, gave me a blank stare any time i asked him anything at all. if you aren't personable, why choose serving? the best part about the job is getting to interact with people. we barely saw him. he sucked. drink order taken- wine for mom- club soda for me- never got the club soda. literally mom got her wine and 15 minutes later we never saw the server so i finally asked someone passing by for my drink. when he came back and we told him what happened he didn't apologize, just made an excuse. *rolls eyes* whatever bro, cool story. now on to the good stuff: YUM! we got the 'lumpia' to split as an appetizer and it was so damn good. perfection. the sauces they came with were TO. DIE. FOR. the truffle sauce sounds weird but it was so addicting i couldn't stop eating it! i even dipped my pizza in it- which was amazing btw. highly recommend. they should make a pizza with that as the sauce. i would buy it. cobb salad mom got was delicious and very fresh looking- my pizza and ranch salad was really tasty and such a great deal for $9.95. i love that they have lunch menu even on weekends, that's awesome. i will definitely be coming back- hopefully i don't get stuck with mr. raisin again... read more

So just learned this place was a chain (which to me is a good sign that I couldn't tell) but it explains why the menu is so extensive. That being said, We've been about 3 times now and it continues to be so awesome, I'm changing my review to a 5. I mean there's only 1 in Idaho so who will know the difference? Service has always been good, love eating outside if the weather is nice, and the food is great! We've tried a bunch and this is everything that's delicious: Hummus app, poke nachos, Cuban pork dip sandwich, short rib ravioli, Nashville hot chicken, and kids pizza. Our waitress was great, she was really on top of it and checked in with us often. She was probably the best part of this restaurant, sadly. Prepare yourself for an OILY oily oily meal. EVERYTHING we had was just dripping in oil and I had a raging stomach ache afterwards because of it. That alone takes it down a star because everything we ordered was consistently incredibly oily. The next reason why it's down another star is because the food is very "fine." It's maybe a hair better than average but at the PRICE, uh NO. Incredibly not worth it. I had the grilled cheese that was super oily, and the plating was SO unappetizing... I paid $11.95 for the sandwich plus $2 extra for Avocado... For $14 I expect that to be the best grilled cheese I've ever had and I was disappointed. Truffle fries were good, but again covered in an insane amount of oil. Price on these was actually fair, around $5. Calamari was average. Dipping sauces were pretty mild, but not bad. My one complaint is that it could have been way crispier. Way too expensive for what you got, $11 for an appetizer?! And an average one at that?! Overall the price really just kills it because the food is fine, but you basically need to sell your soul to eat here. I will not be returning. read more

I get the Men's Room Red by the Elysian when ever I can since a portion of every glass and bottle sold donates to the Puget Sound VA Fisher House in Seattle, WA. Can't beat drinking for charity! My food never arrived. The delivery service, EAT24, provided an email confirmation of my order which included an online chat and telephone number to call should I need to contact them. At 90 minutes of waiting, I did try to contact them. However, they did not respond to my chat nor did anyone ever pick up the telephone. After two hours of waiting I called the Yardhouse directly. In speaking with their manager, who was very professional, he advised that there had not even been a carry out order placed for my food nor had he ever heard of EAT24. He himself is contacting his marketing department. Believing EAT24 is a sham, I have since filed a claim with PayPal to refund my money. read more

We love Yard House & visit often. This location has been really good to us for the most part. HUGE beer selection & food menu/can get pricey however they have a fabulous happy hour. Lots of TVs. We enjoy their pizzas but LOVE their Gardine wings & get them almost every time we visit. Their sushi roll is not really a roll but a stack- we have had it many times however the last time we ordered it the fish really lacked freshness; however that won't stop us from going back- probably just won't order it again at this location. It's a shame because this used to be my favorite spot when they first opened, but they have dropped several notches across the board from quality of food to service to management seeming to care. The only thing that remains second to none is their beer selection, but that doesn't even earn them much credit because when I was in yesterday they couldn't even seem to pour the right beers we ordered! Ordered a strong IPA, and was brought a Bud Light. The server proceeded to argue that he had "punched it in" correctly and no effort was made to rectify what was clearly the wrong beer. The food here used to be amazing and spot on, especially their pizzas. Not only have they gotten rid of the best pizza on their menu (the Thai pizza), when you order a different kind they don't even finish cooking them (are they in a hurry?). Management used to stop by every time we visited to check how things were going and it's now been 4-5 consecutive visits with no one stopping by. Sorry guys, but I'm done giving you chances to fix this. Stop acting like a half-rate chain and fix your issues and I might come back. Really REALLY bad service. Only reason I put two stars is because *some* of the food was decent (soup was cold). Get there and they say 5-10 min wait to be seated, no biggie! Except we ended up waiting 25 minutes. And the snarky comment from the manager definitely was not appreciated. Don't tell me the wait is 5-10 minutes if there are 12 parties ahead of me? Server took forever to get our order. And the icing on the cake, they sat us in the very back, freezing cold, no lights, with the heaters off. Absolutely horrible dining experience. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable! We had the Coconut Shrimp, Spinach Dip, and a Bacon Burger. Everything was cooked and seasoned wonderfully. The dip was so delicious it was had not to over fill. The shrimps were HUGE and full of flavor (I would suggest a jelly sauce as an option for dip), and the burger was cooked to order. This place is great! They have a very large menu but execute everything very well. I've had the enchilada stack, jambalaya, and angel hair pasta with shrimp. I clean my plate every time because it's so good. If you go at night on the weekend, there will probably be a wait. Lots of beers on tap and a nice ambience with dimmed lights makes it feel very cozy. I highly recommend it! read more
