Picked up some food last night and I was so disappointed with not just the quality but the outrageous prices, I see why they are not on the menu because it's almost DOUBLED since I've last been there ... it was very upsetting bc I could have gone to pho Saigon and got 3 delicious plates for less but you live & learn so oh well never again ! I got a udon and fried rice, or should I say a PEA SOUP RICE :( not to mention the meat was not even edible it was soo chewy

Atmosphere was very large with TV's playing sports and a bathroom, bit it was quite warm inside and service initially and throughout was pretty slow. Great deal on the bento box the tempura and salad was excellent but sushi was very average.

We were trying to find sushi close to Heritage Square and found this place. Very pleasantly surprised by the prices, as it was probably about 30% less than we are used to paying. The bento my wife got was surprisingly large portion for the $9, the salmon was a proper 4-5oz filet. I ordered a couple of rolls, the Sensual Pleasure roll and the Jalapeno Crunchy roll. All of the food came out pretty quickly. The crunchy roll had a lot more crunch on it than I had anticipated, but otherwise was pretty good. The Sensual Pleasure roll was great, spicy scallops and spicy tuna together made my day. I'll have to ask our local places to make me something similar. Overall a pretty solid place at a great price. Service is a bit slow, but very friendly.

The best place to eat Japanese food in the area!!!! We also had Mango & Avocado Salad and it was so fresh and delicious. Everybody was very nice and professional. I would definitely go back again to try other food!

    Under new management?

The older man who use to make the sushi has retired. Which was the father of the owner ( the lady that usually is at the front ). Same management. Just remodeled and ran differently now.

The Vietnamese coffee had good flavor as well and had a good blend of bitter sweetness that complimented the food well. Service was fast and helpful. Peaceful ambiance for a Thursday afternoon. From the…read moreparking lot we could see only one table with a two people, but a large, happy looking, family was exiting with arm fulls of to go bags so we decided to chance it, my partner especially excited for hot pot. We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!

Prices are a bit less, ranging from $19 for Teppan Chicken with rice or a Yaki Soba (noodles) Chicken. We shared their pricier (but very delicious) Takumi Combo at $29 with choice of 2: (real filet mignon, chicken, Korean BBQ, shrimp, scallops, salmon) with fresh Teppan vegetables and rice. The order was big enough to share with two of us. Takumi only opens late afternoon until 10 pm. You can also order ahead of time via meal delivery apps like GrubHub. We highly suggest going since there are no Teppan restaurants in the immediate Oxnard or Port Hueneme area, and this food truck is surprisingly very authentic... minus the theatrical antics of a Benihana Teppan chef (which I can do without).

We picked up at their Esplanade Dr. location in Oxnard, staff were very friendly and our order was ready fairly quickly. We also ordered delivery from their 5th St. location and the food was still hot when it arrived (we are in Ventura). You get lots of food and each item we've tried is delicious. Definitely on our rotation when we get that craving for steak or seafood.
