Yates was going to cheat us over $8,000 for a turbo on our 2015 GMC 2500 Diesel. Based ONLY on code P2263 which could of been 3 things: defective turbo, 2 broken or loose vacuum, or 3 air cleaner housing .We took to a mechanic in Showlow, AZ Long Automotive LLC this mechanic found just needed a clean air filter for $203 we paid for him to check entire truck. we had warranty when we took to Yates but the adjuster said no turbo soot problem. but the showlow mechanic said there was hardly no soot. * EDIT TO ADD UPDATED INFO AT THE BOTTOM* Car dealerships are notorious for being shady but this dealership takes it to a whole other level. We did a test drive for a vehicle and then went in to go over the carfax and pricing details, which is when we saw an open recall on said vehicle for a major safety concern. When I brought my concern about the open recall to the salesman, Glen and manager, Andrew I was told that I was "making a big deal over nothing" and that the recall is "a you problem" if we purchased it. They also provided the numbers while we were looking at the carfax, and there was a $1500 "Yates package" for "paint protection" and a couple other things. I brought up that we live over an hour away and would obviously not be able to take advantage of the benefits and asked if it could be removed. I was immediately told "no" and that there were "partner dealers" that I would be able to go to instead. I requested a list of the partner dealers and was told that they didn't have a list but could "get me one" IF I purchased the vehicle. I reiterated that it seemed like a waste of $1500 if we wouldn't be able to use it and was told again that I was "just trying to go back and forth on little things" and that we "didn't need to buy the vehicle then". I was belittled and talked down to by 2 different men, including the manager Andrew. It got to the point where I looked at my partner and said "this is the 3rd time (once by the salesman and also the manager, and then again the salesman) I've been told that I'm making a big deal over a legitimate concern", which is when the salesman tried to backtrack and gaslight me by denying he did anything wrong. I brought up legitimate concerns that both men pushed under the rug, not to mentioned while I (a woman) was asking questions, they kept looking directly at my male partner (who was completely silent) and not at me. They were condescending, rude, belittling, and blatantly sexist. Not to mention along with the $1500 bs "package" the vehicle was listed online for $33,000 and the numbers came out to $39,000 after being told that they "really needed to sell the vehicle" and they could "make a deal" but ONLY if we came in person. Don't even waste your time here. *UPDATE- the next day after our visit (1 day before getting a comment response from the dealership to my review here) my partner and I received a call from someone at the dealership following up on our visit, unaware of what happened. I went in depth with him regarding whag we experienced and he did apologize for what happened and said that he wanted the chance to "earn back" our business. We considered it that day/ night but my partner called back the next day and we were told that the owner saw "a certain review online" and that we were not welcome back. After that phone call we received a comment on this review. So, to me, that means they do not care about what we experienced/ how we were treated and instead put all of the blame on us and told us we were not welcome back. read more

Be careful with the finance guy Jerome Peña. He is unprofessional and a fraud. Do not believe anything he says. He added an extra 8k dollars in warranties that I never asked or agreed to. When I tried to review my paperwork using the USB that he provided, the pages that specified those "selections" were blurred out. Coincidence? When confronted about it over the phone he played dumb saying I selected that extended warranty and had me sign a cancellation request. I submitted the cancellation request Dec 4 and was told it take approximately 6 weeks to get that resolved. He never answered the phone after that. After 4-5 weeks I called to see the status of my request, and I found out he never submitted it. If I could rate ZERO STARS I would. I have never had such a terrible experience from a car dealership. Went into to see about trading in my car for a used truck. The car salesman Robert was the person to assist me with my purchase and he was very respectful. Then came time to run numbers. He brings out a paper with all the list prices of my trade in value and I thought it was somewhat under priced. My boyfriend and I ask if they can either offer more on the trade in price or lower the truck asking price. He comes back with unfortunately these are the numbers and I cannot change anything. My boyfriend asks to speak to his manager in asking about the numbers. The general sales manager Matt VanHorn comes out to speak to us and immediately has the worst attitude with my boyfriend and I and says, here's the deal, I'm not changing these numbers. It's this or no deal, he then proceeds to argue with my boyfriend and I and tried to make us feel stupid for asking for a higher trade in value on my car. We ended up walking out because Matt turned this argument into something else and wasn't even about purchasing the truck at that point. SAVE YOUR TROUBLE. DO NOT GO THERE. I'm giving this place a 1 out of a 5 rating, let me explain why. I dropped off my truck on a Thursday due to having the check engine light on. The service advisor which I'm leaving names out just because I'm nice, told me that they would need me to drop it off but wouldn't be able to give me an update until Monday. Fast forward to Monday, I get a call from the service advisor to tell me that my truck was STILL IN LINE WAITING TO BE SEEN and that it may be till tomorrow or possibly Wednesday until it would be seen just to see what the issue was. My husband got into an accident and we went here to buy a new car for him. We saw a 2011 Nissan Juke online for $7500. We thought that was a good deal for the model it was and decided to go down to the dealership. The guy we talked to said the price for the car was actually $11k and that TrueCar listed it wrong. So we immediately said no, but of course he says he can get the price down, but we should test drive it first. We take it out and the AC isn't working well. We tell him and he says that's normal for Nissan and that it just takes a few minutes for it to warm up. 10 minutes later it finally starts working and he says he's going to have the service team look at it when we get back. We also notice cosmetic damage and he says we should expect that because it's a 2011. We tell him that price is too high and he goes to talk to his manager. He comes back and says he got it down to $9500. We still say no and tell him we want it for the listed price and he laughs at us. Literally laughs. I tell him if you get it down to $8000 we will take it. So he checks with his manager again. He comes back with about $8700. My husband says that's not $8k and he says he cant go any lower. At this point we've been here much longer than we would have hoped to bug a car outright with cash. We say yes and then we get stuck there for an additional 4 hours while they get the car ready. After they finally have it detailed the guy then asks my husband to drive him to the gas station because he has a headache and needs to put gas in the car, but doesn't want to drive it which was weird but okay whatever. The next morning we have issues with the car. I get a call from the dealership to ask about our time and I let them know the car is having issues and that I want to return it and finance something better that's on the lot. She says someone will reach out to me. Then I get an email asking if I had all my questions answered and I reply to it that I'm still waiting to hear back from somebody. They continued sending me these generic emails for days without anyone ever reaching out. I finally decide to set up an appointment to Nissan to have it looked at. They quote us $11000 in repairs. If I could give zero stars I would but given that isn't an option and that we were the final decision makers on buying this vehicle, 1 star is fair. read more

Found a SUV I was looking at buying via the web, I wrote they wrote back and I asked about which packages the SUV had, in this case a 2021 Kia Telluride. The sales person wrote back and said someone from her team would look into it and contact me. 1 day later I get an email asking if anyone has contacted me, I said nope, ok I will have someone research and get back to you, 2 days later, did someone get a hold of you yet, nope. I had an oil change appt at 3 pm, I arrived at 245 pm. I had to go inside to get someone to let them know I was here. The attendant said it would take 90 min from my appt time. So, I thought I would look at some of their new vehicles. I found one I like and inquired and test drove it. Sticker price was 68k then after adding the window tint etc, it was $71k. I went inside to see the numbers and the salesman says there is a 10k markup on the vehicle. FALSE ADVERTISING and away to steal your trade in that I have equity in. I got my car, did not change the oil and got out of there. If anyone sees where it says 81K, please correct me. They lost my trust, I will not go back and hope no gets burned by them. read more

I bought a 2021 Gmc Sierra elevation pkg at Yates. I was told at finance that the extended warranty I bought covers a rental vehicle of the same type of vehicle I'm buying if the vehicle has to be left in the shop over night. This was a huge deal for me since a own a landscaping business and can not be without a vehicle. (No vehicle no work). Now that I have a list with 7 things that needs to be fixed they tell me I have to leave it there for 2-4 days to diagnose things before I can have a rental, in which I still have to pay out of pocket for some of it. I brought my vehicle in for service and told them what I believe the problem was, the service manager efren got back to me quick and assured me the issue was something else & the part I had mentioned was working just fine. Charged me almost 1k for the repair, problem came back in less than 72hours. Called service department & the other service manager Jerry Morris laughed at me when I said this is critical to be repaired as I have already paid and he couldn't give me a time to when the vehicle would be looked at again. I was told to drop off 6am Monday, didn't get looked at until Wednesday evening. The problem was the part I originally told them to inspect and was told "it's working fine." That part is no longer made, to get my money back I have to buy a new car from them. For all I know the original part they replaced was working fine, they just screwed me because I was a cash paying customer. I didn't realize I was paying for a half assed diagnostic. This dealership is UNPROFESSIONAL and lists their cars as good deals and then requires a MANDATORY dent and spill protection for $1,200. That's a SCAM. And takes their cars out of the good deal range. They included it in the final finance amount even AFTER I clearly said I didn't want or need it to my Sales Representative. They did this AFTER a pre-purchase inspection was completed and I spent 5 hours there and then told me they HAVE to sell their cars with it. No exceptions. Absurd!!! read more

Please don't buy any car here , their service center is absolutely the worst and you'll end up paying way more in the long run. I have a few instances that have occurred here and that's them getting me my registration for my car almost 2 months late , we had a transmission leak the tech told us right before our warranty went up and they said they had no tech to service at that time. Luckily sands Chevy took us in but if they didn't we would have been out of almost 6k because of their negligence. Anytime you need an oil change it takes 4-5 hours and that's no matter what time you go. Our car started sounding weird and Chris brown said he'd look at it but didn't also left without saying anything back. We ended up leaving because nobody had a clue what we were talking about. They also left our air filter cabin open , I will never buy a car from here again , they are terrible and now I'm out almost $500 because their service department couldn't bother to service our car correctly. read more

Best car buying experience I have ever had! I buy a new car every couple years but I have never dealt with Yates before and now I will never go anywhere else! My salesman was awesome! The worst thing about this Diler is that it doesn't deserve any stars. They sold me a used truck that started to have transmission failures a week later. I had purchased an extended warranty that never wanted to cover the problem, it is a headache and the truth is that it is helpless that you pay for ANYTHING. Also, checking the numbers on the purchase, I realized that they made several charges that they never let me know about. They charged me 1,500 dollars for the tires that the truck already had when they showed it to me for the agreed price. That is to say, they added 1500 more to the original price of the truck for the tires when the truck already had those tires when they showed it to me. And the worst part is that they charged me an additional $4,500 on my account due to a mechanical breakdown, a situation that they never told me about. Played a bait and switch game. I made it extremely clear I would not pay any market rate adjustments prior to scheduling a test drive. Drove an hour to the dealership, test drove vehicle, sat down with manager to work numbers and they added $7500 market rate adjustment in addition to $2,000 of other dealer "adds" (for profit). A lot of room for transparency, communication and expectations management. Wasted 3 hours of my time, gas to drive out there and at least an hour of their time. A couple days later my husband called Yates about a vehicle he found on their lot and was linked up with Caralee. She went above and beyond. She was well informed about the vehicle we were interested in & made the entire process smooth and clear. She was even willing to run out and get lunch while we were waiting for finance. To top it off, she drove the vehicle back to our house 30 minutes away so that my husband didn't have to leave his truck at the dealership. I don't know what happened to you, Yates. You used to be so good! I've been a customer of Yates since 2015. I bought two vehicles from them. NEVER again! I requested to have my vehicle serviced , washed and vacuumed. The service was completed but, they gave me back a dirty truck! That's two times in a row! I was assured that the truck would be clean. The last two times I've gotten my GMC Sierra 2500 HD serviced , they have not done a very good job. It's a shame! You just lost an $80,000 sale from me, Yates! I am getting ready to replace my Toyota Tundra with another Sierra or a Yukon Denali but, I guess I will go to another GMC dealer! We've purchased 5 vehicles from Yates, and so when our daughter wanted to buy a vehicle, we looked on their website and found a great vehicle. We went to check out the vehicle and after waiting around for 30 minutes for someone to figure out where the vehicle was, we found out the vehicle was being used as a loaner and wouldn't be back until the end of the week. Someone messaged us mid week and said the vehicle would be back Wednesday and they would clean it up for us to see on Thursday. We made an appointment to come test drive the vehicle Thursday. Mid day on Thursday we got a text that the vehicle was being test driven by someone else. 20 minutes before our appointment time we received a text that the vehicle sold. What horrible customer service that they sold the vehicle we intended to buy right out from underneath us. We won't be doing anymore business with Yates.
