The atmosphere was really cute (inside) but unfortunately the drinks did not match. I ordered a butterscotch iced latte and a biscoff iced latte. Both had zero flavor, arrived room temperature and were poorly made. The hot espresso was clearly pulled directly over ice instead which caused it to melt and make the coffee extremely watery. Customer service could also be improved. Overall, will never go back. There are plenty of other delicious coffee shops (with better parking) than this one.
This place was good but not the best if you are looking for some good matcha. There's other matcha places nearby that are way better and worth the price. There is a lot of seating if you want to enjoy your food and drinks. Staff was nice. My wait time for my drink was around 10 minutes which isn't too bad. Around 3 pm they weren't that busy on a week day. I ordered a matcha latte and it was okay. It didn't really stand out to me but it was still good and enjoyable. It was too sweet for my liking and that may have been my fault for adding honey. I don't think I would be going back but it was nice to try.
Parking: This Cafe is off Reseda not too far from CSUN. There is no dedicated parking lot that I know of. If you cannot get street parking in front of the cafe, you are better off parking in the Harbor Freight parking lot off Nordhoff and taking the 2 minute walk. Yellow House is nestled between other small businesses but you won't miss the entrance as it is highlighted by a big yellow wall. Ambiance: The exterior of the building almost plants the idea that the cafe will be small, but once entering the building you get a different feeling. The interior is spacious even having 2 stories. The interior exudes a calm, cozy, minimalistic feel. It really does feel like you are walking into a warm inviting yellow home, albeit a little loud and busy. There is a good amount of natural light coming from all the windows and depending on the time of year, they also decorate for each holiday. Drinks: We have gotten the tiramisu iced latte, creme brulee matcha, Earl grey Matcha, and Strawberry matcha, and sea salt caramel americano. Order all drinks half sweet or you'll get a cavity- heed the warning of this tooth fairy. But in all seriousness, their drinks are SWEET so be aware. All of the drinks taste like what they advertise though which is amazing! If you're looking for top tier matcha quality this isn't the place, this isn't Rocky's matcha but if you're in sheer desperation and ache for some green drink derived from leaves, it'll work. Service: Everyone is nice and the drinks come out pretty quickly considering their crafted nature. Overall: There's a reason we keep coming back! It's reliable, has lots of cool varieties, and consistent! Although I will say a bit overpriced, but that seems to be everywhere these days so eh.
Super cute cafe with a great variety of drinks and food options. This is definitely a college hangout spot and perfect for getting work done. They have plenty of tables on the first floor and more on the loft. I got the ube cold foam matcha and it was delicious! Can't modify the sweetness but still great. If you want oat or almond milk it's a 50 cent surcharge. Parking is a bit tough on the street!
Stopped by Yellow House with a friend and we had a great time. We ordered a Rose Tteokbokki, a Chicken Katsu Sando, and I got a Crème Brûlée matcha while my friend got a Cookie Butter matcha. The food was great! You go up to order then find a seat. The staff was friendly and we got our food and drinks in a timely manner. The ambiance has more of a cafe atmosphere and there were lots of students studying since we were close to the local college. Would come back again!
I've never been so excited to try out this yellow House café. After hearing for months and months on my TikTok to check this place out, I finally caved and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Yellow House Café is so cute and charming. The staff is super friendly so easy-going. They have so many options a varieties of coffees and lattes that you can have and it's so spacious. I think I went back two times and both times it was delicious. The good thing is that they open early so you can always grab a cup of coffee on the way to work or any rendezvous, though I do want to say that parking can be a little bit difficult if you're heading south on Reseda then it may be a little bit more challenging then if we were heading north. I would recommend their pistachio latte. It's so good.
The first time I ever had yellow house, it was the best matcha I've had in the SFV! However, the other 5 times I went, the quality of the matcha had gone down significantly They must have hired new people or something because it tastes bad. I'm sad and disappointed in the inconsistency of the matcha taste each time I visit so I just stopped coming here... The sushi and food items are pretty good, the ambience is nice but usually too loud to study in. Overall ok
Yellow House is such a gem in the northridge community. In a lot of cases you have coffee shops that do great coffee but poor food. In other places you have a great lunch spot but does poor coffee. At Yellow House you get both in one convenient spot! The service is attentive and friendly and the ambiance is that of a moderately noisy coffee shop. Whether you are doing some dine in or to go, I wouldn't miss Yellow House. Tip: Parking is tough on the street. Harbor Freight down the street made it easy to park and get back to the restaurant.

One of my favorite things about Yellow House is how well lit it is. Natural light pours in and fills the entire cafe, making it feel warm and uplifting. Every level feels airy and spacious, and the layout encourages you to stay awhile rather than rush out. It's the kind of environment where you could easily lose track of time, perfect for studying, working remotely, or just enjoying a peaceful break in your day. Now let's talk about the food and drinks. I ordered their chicken katsu sando, and it was phenomenal. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and tender inside. Their slaw inside was perfectly sweet and salty with that crunch that you crave in a sandwich. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the sandwich felt balanced and satisfying without being overly heavy. You can tell that care and attention go into how it's prepared, it's comfort food done right and definitely something I'd come back for again! For drinks, I tried two items, and both were standouts in their own way. The iced crème brûlée latte was smooth, creamy, and lightly sweet with just the right amount of indulgence. It had that dessert-like richness without being overpowering, making it the perfect treat if you're craving something with that coffee kick but still well balanced. I also tried the iced Biscoff cookie butter matcha, and this one really stole the show for me. The matcha was creamy and well blended, and the Biscoff added a subtle sweetness and depth that complemented the matcha beautifully instead of overpowering it. It's unique, indulgent, and incredibly satisfying, easily one of the most memorable matcha drinks I've had in a while. Beyond the food and drinks, what truly elevated my experience was the environment and the staff. Every employee I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic. You can feel that they enjoy being there, and that positive energy carries throughout the space. The service felt warm and authentic, not rushed, not transactional, but genuinely hospitable. That kind of enthusiasm makes such a difference and really sets The Yellow House apart from other cafés. Well I mean just came across this coffee shop in Northridge! Bright yellow building, you cannot miss it! The atmosphere is perfect for college students trying to get a good coffee, with good vibes and chill music. Will definitely come back and try a different drink next time I'm around the area. Beautiful cafe with such a spacious feel. Perfect for studying and relaxing.. The organization and set-up of the spot makes this cafe very appealing for future visits! I'm so happy with my experience here and am excited to see the cafe grow more. I also want to add that I love that there are also plates/entrees to this cafe, and not just pastries or desserts. They look very tasty and worth the pricing. I got the rose tteokbokki ($19) and was very satisfied and impressed at the flavor and taste. I didn't get to finish the whole plate as I got full. They take time with orders but it is worth it! I have yet to try any of their coffee or matcha as it was early evening when I came but I hope to try some in the future! They look yummy as well. For parking, you can park at the lot nearby or park at the street with the designated spots. read more

Worth the hype, we really enjoyed the Dubai chocolate strawberry Matcha.It really gave a taste experience of a real Dubai chocolate strawberry cup minus the texture. We are really excited to come back and try their food. I also appreciated that there are available reusable utensils We also really like the ambience the vibe, especially with the big chandelier and a tall windows. It noticibly felt bright, open, and fresh. It is also really cute and wonderful to run into cute little objects things while we wait for our drinks. read more
Such a great café! I was super happy with the service -- everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We tried the salmon poke bites and the popcorn chicken, and both were seriously so good! Everything was super fresh and flavorful. We also got the crème brûlée matcha, and it was amazing -- perfectly sweet and creamy. I love the interior and seating here too -- it's such a cute spot with plenty of space and outlets, which makes it perfect for working or studying. The vibe is super cozy and relaxed. Yellow House is a new cafe in Northridge, and I was so excited to see their menu! I had their matcha affogato and injeolmi latte, both of which are unique drinks, rare to find at other locations. Coming on opening weekend, that they're busy with lines out the doors is unsurprising. The overall theme is yellow (heh) and the interior is well-decorated with bright colors. The matcha affogato featured a scoop of matcha ice cream in espresso. While I like both equally, I cannot admit that I enjoyed this drink too much - a tad too sweet for my liking of coffee. The injeolmi latte was also a treat. I LOVE injeolmi, and I rarely have the opportunity to enjoy it. And in latte form? Please! Now it's improtant to note that this is added as a heavy cream. The drink itself was nutty, as expected, but a tad too sweet for my liking. After ordering and picking up your drinks (estimated 5-10 minute wait), there's plenty of seating both at the main level and potentially on the balcony. Seating is quite cramped between tables, but one plus is that there's Wi-Fi! I could see this being a popular spot for CSUN // college students or anyone who needs a place to study / meet. Returning? Yes, definitely! I could see myself adjusting the sugar level on that injeolmi latte to my liking, and sampling a good number of their other unique items. The interior is nicely decorated and gives off a cozy vibe. I ordered a matcha drink, and it was excellent, easily the best matcha drink I've ever had. That said, I'm not a matcha expert, so take that with a grain of salt. Still, it was a great experience overall and worth checking out. read more

New local spot?! With actually GOOD drinks & spacious seating?! Rare find in LA/SFV. So happy this place opened up, & I can't wait to see how this business grows! PARKING: Meh. Not the best but, are we really surprised given the location? Expect to do street parking, or if you can find any in the limited spots in the back. What we did was park in the Harbor Freight parking lot & walked over, given we had a huge truck. There's always plenty of spaces in that plaza next door, so if you drive like me, don't stress over parallel parking it's not worth it LOL. DRINKS: -Hazelnut latte iced: My partner liked this drink! It was sweet, syrup was not too overpowering, & the drink came out fast (less than 5 min from when we ordered if I'm not mistaken) -Matcha w/ sea salt foam: I enjoyed this drink more than I expected. i'm a bit picky about matcha, so I didn't set high expectations. But this was so good! Right amount of sweetness, & I enjoyed how well the matcha contrasted with the saltiness of the top. I don't really crave drinks, but this one... it's gonna stay on my mind for a bit. I am already looking forward to my next visit. -Creme brulee latte: My sister enjoyed how it was creamy & not too sweet. She is more of a sweet treat kind of girl, so she appreciated how it was not too much of a "bitter coffee" taste as well. SERVICE: The person that took our orders was very kind & patient. We were overwhelmed with the menu options as first timers but she let us take our time ordering & answered any questions we had. Baristas were quick on their feet with all the incoming orders, & I liked how professional they were. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks! INDOORS: I think I can see the vision the business owner had, & I believe they made great use of the space. 2 stories, lots of seating & power outlets, comfortable chairs- a dream study/work space for the college students nearby. Their matcha affogato was not as impressive as I was hoping it would be. I would rate it a 7.7/10. Not many cafes offer this kind of drink, which is why I was tempted to try it. The drink itself was lacking depth in its flavor profile. I personally would have preferred a more naturally bitter espresso to contrast the sweetness of the ice cream. It's also incredibly spacious with an upstairs area to study (love me some space). I also liked that they were playing Big Bang's "Blue." OK throwback! Alright, so I had the Matcha Earl Gray and the Injeolmi Latte. The taste of both were unique and flavorful. The mixture of the matcha with earl gray was earthy and floral. The cream on top of the injeolmi was very thicc, unlike any other cream topped lattes I've ever had before. She suggested to dip the rice cakes on top in the cream first - ok girl! Very tasty. Customer service was on point and they were quick to make the drinks as well. I'll have to try some of their dishes on my next visit. I look forward to coming back. Crème brûlée matcha was decent. I will say the matcha isn't as smooth and grittier but it still tastes well with the cream top. The popcorn chicken wasn't the best honestly. Cute place though. There's limited parking, you'd have to go down the street. I might come again and try a coffee based drink read more

We did not order drinks. This review is for the food only. Rose tteokpokki was the perfect amount of creamy and spicy. The fish and rice cakes were the perfect texture Unfortunately it gets bad when it comes to the katsu plate. Also the chicken itself was decent, the macaroni salad was SOUR. Tasted 100% spoiled and smelled rancid. When I brought this up I was told it was because they "use a new recipe with yogurt." Was it just an excuse or true reasoning? Who knows lol We heard another patron complain about the macaroni as well. I would stick to just drinks and steer clear from the food here read more

It was our first time going to this place today really cute spacious place. Great for studying or just having a chat with a friend over coffee. They have a good meal selection. I like coming to yellow house when I need to lock in and study for an exam. They have unique drink options such as the matcha creme brulee and tiramisu latte which I have tried. The matcha creme brulee was delicious and sweet, though the texture of the matcha was a bit chalky and didn't taste as "authentic" as other matchas I've had. The tiramisu latte on the other hand was better. It was sweet and gave me the perfect boost of energy I needed to study. The lady finger on the top of the coffee looked a bit funny and out of place but I give yellow house an A for effort. Overall, this place seems more like a hangout/study area for college students rather than a cafe, but I will be back to try more menu items! read more

love how spacious this place is! between the first and second floor, there's enough seating with outlets scattered throughout. music is a bit loud downstairs, so i would go upstairs if you're there to study. their menu is pretty large with drinks and food available, so there seems to be something for everyone! i tried the matcha latte the first time i was here, and didn't think it was anything special, but i definitely recommend the matcha duo! it has a stronger matcha flavor and the cream top is so yummy. parking on reseda is a little tough, so plan for that, but otherwise a great place to hang out read more
This cafe is very lively with great music and atmosphere. So glad u found this spot I will be returning back. The drinks were nice and caffeinated and the cafe foods were actually very delicious. Very good food! Ordered the chicken teriyaki and chicken cutlet plate. There were a lot of food! Was able to share with my wife and 2 kids. Loved the chicken cutlet with the sauce. Very tasty with the right level of crunch on the outside and soft chicken on the inside. Will def come back and try their other food! read more
Adorable! An adorable coffee shop in the valley with a dreamy chandelier + plenty of seating options and outlets for work. Very spacious with an upstairs space, too. I parked along the street, which has 2hr free spots. I tried the vanilla bean latte with oatmilk and it was simply divine. They make all their vanilla syrups in-house and they are mmm, mmm good the baristas were kind and when I'm in the valley I'll def be back this way read more

I tried the ceremonial grade Matcha with no sugar so I could really taste it and it's amazing. Definitely will be back. I'll try it with sugar as well on a different day. I had a little bit of the tiramisu foam put on the side. They also have a happy hour prices.! They also had a lot of yummy looking food and many drinks, coffee drinks too and a lot of space to sit. Had a friend put me on to this spot and came early in the morning to check it out! Cute place, hard to miss from the street, and interesting menu. Can already tell this place is going to be popular with CSUN students. The seating was open and they even had a loft area upstairs. Service was nice, the baristas seem to be trained well :) read more
The ambience was really nice!! Their menu looks very fun and I want to come back to try one of their french toasts. I got the Dubai Strawberry Chocolate Matcha and it was interesting, but I don't think I would get it again. It was a little all over the place and did not have a distinct flavor. Not only carrying it on its name, the cafe was literally a yellow-painted house. Or probably it's named that way given it's literally a yellow house? Huge space with plenty of seats, complemented with decent wifi connection making it perfect spots for sitting with your gadget I guessed and you could literally saw almost every single table had at least a laptop on it. If you're worried it meant people sat and didn't move for hours, worry not as they had more than enough spaces to accommodate the crowd. The venue was busy throughout the day (I came on a Saturday) yet they have plenty of baristas and impeccably got the orders ready in just few blinks. If you didn't mind loud background noise like me, this spot was for you. While I appreciated the swift service, the only room for improvement was prolly having the attendant who's taking order, being more knowledgeable on what's on the menu as in my case she was barely able to answer any of my questions. I ended up only having the drink given I wasn't really sure about the food. They seemed to be popular for their different kinds of cream top drinks, and I could see they also brag about their ceremonial grade matcha. Having their Matcha Earl Grey, I could validate that they deserved to be proud of their matcha as it's indeed very bold and tasted solid. You could straight away tell from the vibrant color and despite this particular menu came sweetened as default, the sweetness level was just precisely like how I wanted it. The earl grey gave extra smash for the drink and actually making it distinctive. I would be the first welcome it to come to the west side of LA, please!! read more

I love Yellow House. It's a beautiful interior with lots of tables and even more study space upstairs. It gets really busy at noon. There is a bit of a wait for your food and drink, but it's worth it. The food is okay, but the matcha lattes are amazing. Their banana matcha latte are a must-try but is seasonal. Strong matcha, sweet, and the banana foam makes it extra creamy. I would love to see a blueberry matcha latte or more fruity flavors. Yellow House is a bit pricey but similarly to Peak Cafe, also in the area, you're paying for the space. GET THE BANANA MATCHA LATTE read more

The valley is getting a lot of new coffee shops and I am all here for it. Today's coffee adventure brought us to Yellow House (literally yellow). Looks are deceiving.. when you look it from the outside it looks like a small shop but once you enter is actually pretty big and spacious. I ordered the vanilla salt cream latte which was pretty good and creamy. My boyfriend ordered the Dubai chocolate strawberry matcha which he enjoyed. Overall the vibe of this location is good & it seems like a nice spot to meet up and grab a coffee with a friend or study. Only downside would be the parking situation.. Street parking with a very small section of parking in the back. Overall I would come back. read more
Cafe has spacious seating with seating on the second level as well. Parking is street parking only - which can be a bit tough on the weekends. We ordered an injeolmi latte and matcha latte. The injeolmi latte does have coffee in it and it was alright. The foam does taste like injeolmi but the bitterness from the coffee took over the flavor. The matcha latte however was superb. We'll definitely be back to try some of their other drinks. read more

Is there parking at the back?
No, there is no parking in the back. Only street parking. The two times I visited the establishment I parked over by Harbor Freight and walked over. Haven't gotten towed yet but definitely park there at your own risk 😅
Is there milk alternatives like oat milk and almond milk available?
