It's really a darn shame the people are so horrid because their expensive food is good. Veggie Pancakes are greasy but delicious. However, the owner and staff are NASTY and MISERABLE LIARS. The same exact day that two coupons arrived in my mailbox for $5 off $50 or $10 off $100, I picked up almost $100 worth of food for my husband's birthday. Not only did their coupon ad list curbside takeout or dine in, but the woman was super rude and fresh and told me I didn't have the whole ad and could not use any coupon at all for takeout. In covid I prefer to eat at home especially with babies. I definitely had the entire half page ad. Anyway, then the man attacked me and my husband and was yelling at us to give back the food. First time and I'm truly impressed. Wasn't expecting much - the previous restaurant in that space was down right bad - but upon walking in I was impressed. Nice decor, attentive staff (albeit just two people to help a barely-existent crowd on a Tuesday night) and a comfortable welcoming feeling. Kept it simple: yummy wings and a sautéed tofu for apps, then bibimbap (veggie) and pork tacos for mains. Great flavor. And the small bowls of various noshes (kimchee, pickled peyote, eggplant, etc etc) were truly amazing and freshly made each day, it turns out. Food: Overpriced and Average. For Korean food, they jack everything up several dollars compared to much better Korean food you can get in White Plains or New Jersey. You actually have to pay an additional 4-5 dollars for protein in traditional dishes that are supposed to have beef or chicken already in them. Experience: Awful. We were looking forward to this dinner as we had relatives from out of town. Instead, the owner made us feel unwelcome and tried to shame us into spending more money. Absolutely terrible. The older Korean man (pretty sure he's the owner) was extremely rude to me. I ordered a lot of food and when I asked for a refill on one of the side dishes (which is standard in every Korean restaurant I have ever been to), he made a face and told me no, that it's "too expensive." This is a first for me in a Korean restaurant; those are supposed to be refilled as often as requested. This was very disappointing. Since I have been here 3 times, I can confidently give this place the 5 stars which I really think they deserve! Well, I still didn't try every single food that this restaurant is proud of, but I know that this restaurant has chefs who are way beyond average, and know how to handle each dish very delicious. This place is actually not very large, rather it gives very nice café atmosphere like some others said here. They also have very nice bar, and carefully selected staff running. My go-to dish has been spicy braised chicken. I love chicken, and it comes with unique seasoning and way of cook that you can't taste in any other places. I've also come for Korean table BBQ, Kalbi is one of my favorites. I would come back anytime just to eat mild beef soup (kalbi tang) and hot stone bibimbap . I went to Yeomiji with 4 friends and the food was delicious. We started with veggie scallion pancakes and beef steamed dumplings, which were both great. There were 6 dumplings and the pancake was split into fourths, so keep that in mind for sharing. Most of us ordered the Bibimbap for our entrees with beef. It's a very filling meal and comes with extra toppings. The sauce they give with the Bibimbap is very spicy so beware! Overall very tasty restaurant. They also have grills you can cook your own food on, but we didn't do that. read more

We had Korean LA kalbi and it was fantastic! The meat was marinated well and it was grilled well. My kids and i ate so quickly and i forgot to take pictures of it. I stopped here today to pick up some lunch before I went to have a tooth pulled. Even with the terrible pain I was experiencing I can tell you the food was OUTSTANDING!! I cannot wait to go back to try more items on their menu. I had the Kalbi soup which has short ribs, daikon radish and green onion and sweet potato glass noodle. The broth is absolutely delicious and it comes with white rice. What a super meal and a great find! During the reopening, since COVID-19, a few of the restaurants, including Yeomiji, have set up a tent and tables to sit out and eat. It's fantastic! Having eaten at Koreatown in Manhattan many times, I came into Yeomiji expecting it to be average. But I was proven wrong from the first bite of the banchan. You can tell they were made with care and quality ingredients. Along with my request for a second round of banchan, I ordered the fried dumplings with beef, and those were so thin yet so crispy, and the beef had such deep flavor. Moving onto the main dishes, we ordered the beef bibimbap, bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and the kimchi pork tofu stew. We were told that the stew is a family recipe, and it clearly showed in its taste. It was fully flavored, unlike some of the watered down stews I had in Ktown. Next the bibimbap was well made, though I wish they added more rice in it. But the vegetables were flavored well, and it made the perfect crust as it continued cooking on the fancy hot stone pot. Finally, we hit the surprise favorite, the spicy cold noodles. My family normally never orders cold noodles, they prefer hot noodles. But they said it was their top dish of the night, and I would agree. Unfortunately we waited too long before enjoying it, the noodles basically absorbed all of the tasty broth, not that it detracted from the taste. But they really hit the spot on this nice summer evening, especially since they are slightly chewy, and the sweet spicy sauce coats every noodle. As you can tell, I'm definitely coming back here again to try more of the dishes. It's a nice family run restaurant with great recipes and excellent service. If you're worried about indoor dining, don't worry, they have a few tables outdoors, and a large tent that seats many tables as well. read more

I have a pretty low bar when it comes to service expectations, but this place somehow crawled below that bar. I'm sort of impressed. I'm not even sure where to begin...the owner who seemed oddly put out by our presence and having to seat us...the waiter who we had to flag down for menus, placing our order, etc (I think we'd still be sitting there if we hadn't)...the same waiter who asked us very gruffly to "order in English" even though the menu is written in both Korean and English! That one was my favorite. Uh yes, I will take the Korean Beef, since you work at a Korean BBQ restaurant but don't know what bulgogi is. And after yet another loooong wait for any food to come out, my wife goes to check on our order. The owner replies "we need to feed the other customers first". Wish I could insert some memes or gifs into this review, because words can't express how absurd that response was. Another employee chimes in curtly that our food will be coming out shortly, and to their credit it did, and the food was solid. Hence the 3 stars. I missed dining indoors here and I'm so very glad they are open for indoor dining. Half the experience is enjoying the meats cooked at the table grill. I normally have the BBQ set platter and it is delicious. The service is great and so is the food. They start off by bringing the sides to the table. The sides consist of kimchi, bean sprouts, picked cucumber, broccoli and another picked vegetable (can't recall the name at this moment). They also have this steamed eggs dish that isn't on the menu but if you do happen to pass by here definitely try the steamed eggs. The food taste fresh and the sides are awesome. Came to Yeomiji with a couple of friends for lunch last weekend. Service was prompt and accommodating, food was well portioned and good, and I especially loved the quiet atmosphere. We got a variety of appetizers, entrees and meats on the grill. My favorite is the pork belly: it came precut on a dainty little wooden tray My other favorite is the green onion salad, I couldn't stop reaching for more. We went to this restaurant on the way to H Mart. In such a lovely town this is the only Korean restaurant. And wow, the interior is superb! You wouldn't expect it to be a Korean place. It's so classy and elegant. Even if I was to compare with Manhattan places, I bet their interior is top class. Loved the view from the window, felt as if I was in East Europe. I ate Galbi-tang (beef soup), and it was gorgeous. The beef was tender and I was so satisfied. But even better was one of the desserts they have, Patbingsu, which you normally can't find it in any other Korean Restaurants. It's a bowl of shaved ice with sweet red beans. So dissatisfied. I have to say I've been a patron since they opened. Its been fairly inconsistent over the years. I made sure to order from Yeomiji once they opened during the pandemic as we did with all our favorite local restaurants. Today the waitress who was unfamiliar with the menu made a mistake for our appetizers and told our table 'the chef just yelled at me for asking' her to adjust it. No worries- waiting for main courses now. One of the entrees was supposed to be made with 3 ingredients instead came with a fourth. My ASD son won't eat it this way, needs to be remade. Now I'm worried the 'chef' will be angry at the waitress so I go in. What do I witness but the front booth has the wife head down on the table arm spread out like she has the worst headache during service!! Her husband in the kitchen screaming through the window at the two waitresses as he takes back the bowl of ramen and then SLAMS DOWN the Bulgogi on the counter for them to bring out to our table. I almost walked out right then and there. I'm sorry Sir but there are layers if issues here I can not abide by. I apologized to the waitress and reminded her that no one has the right to speak to her that way. The son who I've seen working on occasion should run Yeomiji. I'm sure the consistency and professionalism would be the way it should be. I'll be looking for a new Korean restaurant near Scarsdale. read more

We have gone here for a long time, but recent experiences have not been positive. Simple requests are treated brusquely, not by the wait staff, but by the owners. On one occasion, we requested a small dish of bean paste on the side -- something we got routinely at the old Korea Garden on Central Park Avenue. The request was refused by the owner on the grounds that we shouldn't use bean paste on the particular dish we were eating. More recently, I requested that they substitute a steamed dumpling for a fried dumpling in the Bento box I had ordered. This was refused after the waiter put in the request twice. Again, it was the owner's inexplicable decision (the cost of fried and steamed dumplings is exactly the same, and we are talking about exactly one dumpling). I emailed twice to try to discuss this privately, but there has been no reply. Heck of a way to treat long-time customers, IMHO. read more

Yeomiji is different than anything I've ever tried. I got the chicken bibimbap and was thoroughly pleased. The service was attentive and quickly brought out about 6 "appetizers" which consisted of kimchi, veggies, and noodles (free of charge). Our main meal came out quickly and was piping hot- so hot I couldn't eat it for a while (which was the only drawback of the night). I ate the whole thing and scraped the pan that's how good it was.
