My wife and I are really happy we went with Yingst Appliance. We had used them previously to buy a microwave and to discuss appliance repair and was always impressed. However, it was not until it was during the pandemic that we moved and needed a new washer and dryer that we saw where Yingst really shines and that is with their honesty and customer service. When we went to get our new washer and dryer we had no idea how hard the pandemic made it to get a good washer and dryer, especially because my wife really had her heart set on getting the same make and model of washer and dryer that we left behind at our old house (the buyers had specifically asked for our washer and dryer when made their offer to purchase our house). Ryan and Matt were honest with us during the process and helped us with numerous problems that were not caused by them, but they were willing to address them and to make things right for us. First we thought we were lucky enough to find the specific washer we wanted in stock when no other store had it. Yingst did not have the matching dryer in stock, but no other dealer did either, and we told Ryan we were willing to wait for the matching dryer to come in. After three months of waiting Maytag discontinued our dryer with no matching model for our new Maytag washer. Because it was important to us that we had a matching set of an excellent washer and dryer, Ryan found a similarly built matching LG washer and dryer (at less cost) that they had in stock, and then with our permission, picked-up the Maytag (and gave us 100% of our money back on the Maytag with no fees or charges) and delivered and installed the new LG units (see photo). The installation and set-up were professionally done (checking with a level, making sure everything looked good and worked well, and we were satisfied with everything). I am very impressed with this appliance shop. This shop is such a great reminder of why it's best to shop local mom&pops rather than big-box stores. The employee who helped us was very knowledgeable! I had researched the heck out of the appliance I was shopping for. I'm used to being more knowledgeable than the appliance salesman at any big-box store I go to (due to how much research I've done before I finally go to a store to buy the appliance). But not here!!!! I threw all of my questions & concerns at the salesman, and he took each thing and shared more info with me so I could make the best decision for what I was looking for. He was never defensive; never agressive; always very respectful and kind; and overall VERY knowledgeable. I felt zero pressure. There were no slimey nor sales-y vibes. It was all solid info & respect. I was also impressed that our salesman very clearly understood what exactly we needed and wanted, and when I asked what other options might be appropriate, he did give a couple options and told me the pros/cons of those other options based on what he knew we were needing. We proceeded with buying the appliance, with satisfaction on the price, and confidence we were making the right purchase. Delivery was excellent. They were accurate with the day/time they would be there, and they were communicative. They were kind & respectful. They were careful with our home. And the delivery guys took extra time to make sure our appliance was properly installed (despite our space being a bit unconventional and requiring unusual TLC). We have used Yingst for a while now because they are right across the street from our property. When I called in for a diagnosis on a broken dishwasher, I specified the property was owned by me and I would need to authorize any fixes or charges. They confirmed they understood and remembered me from previous visits. While the repair man was there, I was continuously texting my tenant, and she said in a matter of 15 minutes he came in, replaced the latch and left. He didn't mention anything to her about a charge, so she thought because it was such an easy fix (and they replaced the exact same latch last year) that maybe it was included in the $89 Visit fee (especially since it was right across the street). Later I got a bill for the visit, parts, and labor. When my tenant told me about the issues with the dishwasher, she said it wasn't running properly, and it was starting/stoping cycles randomly and it made me think it was something more than just a latch. If I knew it was just the latch, I would have had my husband replace it and just pay Yingst and diagnosis fee. When I called Yingst to see what happened, the repair man told me that the work was already done so there's nothing he could do. He also said they don't just go out and diagnose. I asked to speak to someone else, and his manager said "well, the repair was under $300 so that's why he did it. Usually companies don't care unless it's over $300." That might be the case but I'm not a company. I am just a person who specifically asked to be called before any fixes were made. She said they couldn't do anything since the repair was already done. She also said she told me on the phone how much a latch costs and so I should have known but I don't recall any of that conversation. Even if she did tell me how much a latch costs, we never agreed that if it was that then I shouldn't be called for approval... In all honesty, it wasn't about the price. It was more the principle of it and the complete lack of empathy from anyone. I'm sad to not use them since they were so close to my property but I can't imagine going back again. read more

In spite of seeing Yingst trucks on the road and driving by their shop a couple thousand times we'd never had occasion to do business with them. That is until our washing machine died yesterday. Today Service Technician Brian was out less than 24 hours later with parts in hand. Less than an hour later we were back to washing clothes. The fee was reasonable, the part charge more than fair and he was super professional and friendly! He checked out the dryer while he was here and offered some very sage DIY counsel for a minor repair to the dryer door. All said it was a perfect service call! I highly recommend Yingst! read more

Repair companies fall into two buckets. Ones that want to create a relationship with you and have a customer for life, and those that will screw you because they don't care to ever see you again. You can figure out which bucket Yingst falls into by the rating. I'll keep this simple. This company, unbenounced to me, charged a "Show up fee" of $50. Now, I understand that some industries charge a fee to show up. However, they also credit you back that fee if you decide to use them for the service. Not at the Yinst. Had this "fee" been disclosed when the service call was placed, I probably wouldn't have gone with these guys. That's probably why they deliberately HIDE this fact. Issue was relatively small, in fact 20 minutes of work turned out to be a full charge of 70 an hour. Then to tack on 50 just to show up = scam. So, did the repair work? Yes. Would I consider Yinst to be reputable and honest? No. This is the first time I fell for phony Yelp reviews. Bummer. read more

Let's keep in mind here that 3 stars means average, not bad. Sometimes you yelpers tend to inflate your star distribution, convincing yourself that an average job warrants 4 stars. It doesn't. Preface that to say, Yingst did a completely adequate job - nothing more or less than you would expect from an appliance repair company. It's a bummer that they're closed Mondays because my dryer broke on a Sunday, so it meant I had to wait until Tuesday to even get through to them. Then they were all booked up for Tuesday so I was told I'd have to wait until Wednesday to get someone out here. No worries, I had the hot summer breeze on my side, so going three days without a dryer really isn't that big of a deal. I got on the schedule for Wednesday, but a spot ended up opening up later in the day and they were actually able to send someone out Tuesday. Score. Here's the cost breakdown, for those of you shopping around: $59 for the visit $50 labor per hour (one hour minimum) You do have the option of bringing your appliance in yourself and avoiding the $59 service fee. I read some prior negative reviews indicating that Yingst was shady with their charges. I didn't find that to be true. On the contrary, the woman I spoke with was super upfront about the costs. She said $59 for the visit, $50 for labor, and estimated that with a 15mo old dryer like ours, the total cost for repair would probably be around $150 (or $200 if it was a motor problem, which she didn't think it was). That was transparent enough for me. That said, it turns out there was nothing wrong with our dryer at all. The technician came out, took it apart, and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He put it back together again and voila! it worked. Given that there were therefore no repairs to be done, an exceptional company would not have charged me for labor at all. I'm not saying Yingst did anything shady here - I just think they could have thrown me a bone and not charged me for 1hr of non-existent labor. That's what separates the 3-star companies from the 4 and 5 star, I suppose. What does come with the $59 service fee (correction: show up at your house fee) is a 30 day warranty, meaning if anything goes wrong in the next 30 days, you only have to pay the $50 p/hr in labor, without the $59 start up cost. That's nice. Called for repair on Samsung dishwasher locking mechanism on door needed to be replaced. When I spoke to a woman who answered was very clear they don't touch Samsung appliances almost rude about it .
