Yes, it's the dryer they repaired last year, this was a different issue. A quick trip to Yingst was all it took. They confirmed from the symptoms I described that the motor was most likely burned out (the old dryer was 15 years old). They helped me to select one with the right features I needed. And after the sale, they helped me load my new dryer into my car, made sure I was informed on the best way to install it, and in about an hour from when I arrived there, I was hooked up and drying laundry. I remember going to Yingst with my folks when I was little and for about 30 years now have used them for appliances of my own. About 3 years ago I purchased a washer and dryer (Speed Queen) by recommendation of Yingst employee. I have been very happy with that decision ever since. Recently I had to contact Yingst about a service issue with the dryer and was very pleased with the service I received. The service manager found me in their system with no problem and offered to have a technician at my home the same day. WOW! I met the technician and he spent about 30 minutes with the dryer and diagnosed a faulty circuit board. He told me he would place an order for the part and estimated about 3-4 days to receive it and his service manager would call and schedule the repair. Well in exactly 4 days I got a call and they said they could have a technician out that day to install the part. WOW! Again I met the technician and he repaired the dryer in about 30 minutes. I have to say the money I may have saved going to the bargain centers or shopping on line would never amount to that kind of service. My family and I will always shop Yingst first. read more

This review is for the Yingst parts department. My dryer failed and after some troubleshooting I went to Yingst to buy the parts I thought I needed. The guy at the counter asked about my problem, bench tested my old parts and then recommended not buying the parts I came in for. Instead he gave me some great advice for diagnosing the problem properly and it turns out he was right, the problem was something else. He could've easily sold me the items I came in for and let me waste $50 on something that wasn't going to solve the problem but they're classier than that. The culprit ended up being a $12 relay. I will be going to Yingst for all my appliance needs from now on. read more

Yingst is the best place in the north SD county to buy kitchen and laundry appliances. I have never received better service nor a better price per quality in my 40 years of being a home owner and buying appliances. I just moved down from the OC. Here is what i truly appreciate about Yingst: 1) They only sell products with a good reputation. 2) If a vendor is having quality issues, they tell you immediately, and will still warranty the purchase if it is still in their existing stock. 3) They are very knowledgeable about all products on the market. 4) They make a point to understand your budget and appliance needs. 5) Their delivery team is first rate. These guys work hard and are so vety curtious. So, Yingst sold me a top of the line Speed Queen washer and dryer last month. The pair are amazing. Next, i bought a new french door Frigidaire from them today, and they installed it perfectly and instructed me on its digital controls. Happy am I. I purchased a ding and dent Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer from Yingst in April 2019. It had a lot of dings and dents. It was covered by the factory warranty and they said it would work fine. In the first nine months, it wasn't getting very cold and there was occasional ice on the inside. Call Frigidaire for service. The service tech says this has a lot of dents. IN the end, the door was no longer aligned with the refrigerator. The tech had to shim the door up to align it. Now after 1.5 years of ownership, the compressor overheat switch keeps triggering. Inside at 60. I bought an extended warranty from Yingst knowing this might happen. I filed a claim with NSI, the extended warranty provider. They opened a call with Yingst to service the refrigerator. I called Yingst to confirm. A) Yingst does not service my area and B) they do not service refrigerators currently because their refrigeration guy retired. Yingst was not terribly interested in the poor service from the warranty company whose plan they sold. It is not even clear, that Yingst told the warranty company that they are not servicing refrigerators currently. Overall, mightily, unimpressed with Yingst. read more

Their sales person was extremely helpful and didn't push the most expensive dishwasher, but rather one that suited my needs. Their prices are very reasonable. Delivery and installation were white glove excellence. This is the third time I've purchased appliances from them over the past couple of years and I'll never go anywhere else. TOP NOTCH noticed that my mother's dryer lint catcher needed to be replaced so i planned on ordering one online. i got the model # then went to her PC. i googled maytag parts and YINGST name was on the top of the list. since they were open on Saturday and in the neighboring city we decided not to wait to get one in the mail. to make a long story short, i took in her old lint filter into the old yet clean and organized store. we were greeted quickly by two people (cannot find one at the big stores!). the nice lady with the beautiful long hair (been working there for 30 years) took the filter and we followed her to the adjacent building (parts and repair area). within a minute or two she returned with not one but TWO filters. one new $40 and the other like new but pre-owned for $20! wow! Repair service horrendously overpriced. I paid $130 for a $20 part and a 10 min job. This place was recommended by my neighbor but I will look elsewhere next time. Doesn't the management see that steep repair prices discourage future sales?? My washing machine started making a metal on metal clanking during the spin cycle. I called for service and someone was able to come out the next day. Matt arrived exactly when he said he would. After Matt inspected my machine, he showed me where the inner tub was rusted out. He said Whirlpool may have this part under warranty (washer is at least 15 years old) and called the office to have Candy verify. He then gave me a written quote for a new part just in case the part was not under warranty (already given quote if the issue was broken spring) and said Candy would call with update. Candy called back later and said it was covered and they could get the part that night. Matt came back out the next morning (no extra charge) and replaced the broken tub. I love this place. We bought our kitchen appliances from here when we first bought our home. Our washer and dryer went out. We were in the market to buy new ones until I spoke with Candy at Yingst. She convinced me to let their repair department look at my machines to see if they could be fixed. Guess what, in under one hour the friendly repairman fixed both machines at a 10th of the cost of buying new ones. (Keep in mind, I was going to buy my new machines from them as well) The repaiman also gave me helpful tips on how to maintain my machines so that they last longer and run more efficiently. This place is absolutely amazing! I was on a mission to find fancier cook top knobs for my new house. Thanks to Yelp I was led to this place. I was immediately greeted by lots of smiling faces and a very warm welcome. This place has everything from refrigerators, washer and dryer's, to appliance parts. You name it and they probably have it. In the back of the street side storefront is an addition just for parts and services. A woman by the name of Candy was instrumental in helping me to find the fancy cooktop knobs I was on the hunt for. I kid you not, I was in there less than five minutes and she worked her magic. Not only did I find the cooktop knobs I was looking for, but she gave me a discount so that I would come back! Winning! Now that's service. He asked if we wanted him to come today? Sure!!! Mike arrives well within the window given. He was on time, courteous and very knowledgeable . Turned out 3 small clamps needed to be replaced because a couple of hoses came loose. Mike showed me exactly what he found, handles the issue, made recommendations for the future AND DID NOT CHARGE ME AN ARM AND A LEG!!!!! I called at 8:30 this morning to see if I could get a service call today. I was told they were all booked up. She said she could set one up for maybe tomorrow and i told her that no one would be home tomorrow, that today was my husbands day off. She asked me where I lived and it told her. She said she would put me on the list in case someone cancelled. I told her that would be fine. She called me at 2:30 and said she had a repair man that could come in the next 30 minutes. I told her to definitely come because my husband was home. I called him and they showed up very quickly. He diagnosed it and gave us the cost(very reasonable) and we told him to fix it. We were looking for a particular gas cooking range/oven without the dials on the back and preferred a stainless steel Frigidaire if possible. We met with Tim Ivans who walked us over to the exact product we were looking for. Our 15 year-old Dacor oven died and was unable to be repaired. We checked around and found that Yingst offered very good prices and helpful staff. Evan saved us $200 by suggesting a Frigidaire brand instead of one we were considering. Part of the saving was due to the fact that there was a small dent on the back side, and Ryan confirmed in writing that the dent was cosmetic (Evan had said that it didn't show at all), that the unit was under the manufacturer's one-year standard warranty, and that we could inspect it ourselves before the installation (which we did when Evan unpacked it in our driveway). The installation was a little tricky because of our wiring issues, and Evan did an excellent job of cutting into the back of the wooden cabinet to make the unit fit. He explained the basic functions, and left a completely clean area where he had been working. I'm happy to recommend this company. read more

Amazing sales and service staff. We went in for a new dishwasher and, because of how knowledgeable staff is, had one selected and purchased within 20 minutes. Our salesperson was able to tell us everything we needed to know, never tried to upsell, and helped us make our decision. Because we purchased on a Saturday, we had to wait til Monday to get delivery scheduled. First thing Monday morning we received the scheduling call and it was delivered and installed the same day. Two refrigerators were delivered today from Yingst Appliance. The experience was excellent from start to finish. My salesman, Casey, was top notch and a breeze to deal with. He was knowledgeable and helpful while I was making the decisions on which ones to buy. He was very good at completing the paperwork with a deft hand. Joe and Carlos were the pair who delivered my fridges this morning. They were like a couple of heavy appliance ballet dancers making short work of a big job. They were thoughtful and good at quickly solving logistical problems as they came up. Carlos backed the large van up my steep winding driveway without a glitch. It was as though he'd done it a hundred times before. I was impressed because deliverers and service folks often find the driveway to be difficult. read more

I bought 3 major appliances from this place and all three are having major problems and Yingst wont help !!! Frigidaire gold series refrigerator $2000.00 ice maker stopped working had to lower the temp to keep things cold ! NO ICE SUCKS !!! dishwasher makes horrible noises and doesn't Clean right after the first 3 months oven temp isn't right and it says the opposite of what your cooking ? Timer doesn't work ! So today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I drive up and down s/n Santa fe multiple times daily/weekly. The truck divers for this company have no concern for the safety of other drivers on the road. On multiple occasions(at least weekly) I see the truck cut from the right lane driving north on n Santa fe to the left hand turn lane where the store front is. Today one almost ran me off the road while 2 lanes merged. I have seen them do this to other drivers many times. He honked and threw his arms up at me and gave me dirty looks. I have shopped here. But I won't any more as I can't support a business who allows drivers who represent the brand to drive so recklessly endangering the safety of those on the roads in the surrounding areas. I hope to see improvement in the drivers and when I got a whole week without seeing them drive like maniacs I will happily up date my review. read more

We have used yanks for years and never have we paid a service fee for just coming out I understand there's a service fee if they're not going to do the repair that we would get the trip charge but it's $75 the trip charge cost more then the repair a cost so beware when they "you 75 that would come off your bill it does not come off your bill they charge you extra so I'm given them a badd star they don't they're the only fix it company it seems like here but I'm little annoyed with the the woman's responses her name is candy she was very nice read more

I called them up for a ductless mini split air conditioner. The clerk was exceptionally helpful and advised I call another store. They don't carry air conditionares. Moreover he couldn't order that model, the Frigidaire system for ordering models is a problem. Other stores have confirmed this. Also the Frigidarire website for dealers page is very inaccurate. Based on rating next appliance I get will be from them, price isn't everything. I'll gladly pay an extra 10% for a local store with good ratings. Attitude of clerks is important. read more

We went into Yingst today because our dryer stopped heating up for us. Rather than trying to sell us a new dryer just because, Wayne told us he might know the problem. He showed us an option about what could be the problem. So I went home and took off the part and brought it back to Wayne. He tested it, and sure enough the part had taking it's toll. Wayne then showed us what part we needed and fortunately took a $500 problem and made it into a $15 easy fix. These days it's so refreshing to know that a neighborhood staple can stand the test of time and big corporate companies buying out Mom and pop stores because they actually care about their consumers and not just interested in making a quick buck. I needed the gas coils for my Maytag dryer so after searching the web I got the part # and the retail price was $20 and about $10 on amazon prime with free shipping. I didn't want to wait for 2 day shipping so i called Yingst expecting to pay full retail price of $20. Candy in parts said $30. I told her full retail price was $20 and her sarcastic response was ( SORRY) and she hung up on me. read more
