One of my new favorite hot pot spots! Yuan's hotpot is the perfect balance of traditional flavors and modern vibes. One of the most flavorful bone broth bases that I've tried, their soup bases are clean tasting and a great complement to every ingredient. Meat quality is so soft and tender, I really enjoyed dipping the beef into egg then boiling. I also loved all the presentation. Veggies and meats are fresh and clean. The meat balls and shrimp balls are bouncy and juicy, the juiciest I've ever had. There's a build your own sauce bar with side dishes, yum! Their passionfruit refresher is a great way to cut through the spice and grease and quench the fire in your mouth. Price is reasonable, similar to most higher end hot pot places now. Reviewing again! Came with family for Saturday dinner around 6pm. Place is usually clean, not loud, but very small in terms of moving around. The place wasn't busy, however, it was a bit lacking on the appetizer station, almost everything was gone so we had to wait a bit for things to get refilled. They had sesame balls, wrapped snacks, cucumber salad, spicy chicken feet, ear wood mushroom, some bitter jelly thing, and porridge. Sauce station is great, lots of selections and some sauces are duplicated on the other side so it's not just one area to grab sauces. We ordered in the phone, apparently only one phone per ordering table. For soup base, we did the trio, bone broth, mushroom, and spicy (mild), the spicy one was actually really red and spicy! I would say this is a very authentic sichuan spicy hot pot restaurant. So be aware it is spicy although you can order a non spicy pot. But what's the point to t one here? Parking is street and rear lot. The restaurant has a very modern and airy interior which is different than most of the Chinese hot lot places. They have a sauce bar and snack bar. Even the service for an asian place. Everyone comes in and can order on the app which makes it easy. You can get a bib. Then make it over to the cold appetizers with chicken feet, cucumbers, and wood ear, you also have fruit, cold desserts, and a fried red bean sesame ball. Yum! Then onto the hot pot. We went for lunch on a Sunday and made reservations just in case but it was pretty much empty at 1pm. All of us had never been there so we had 2 people order for the whole party. The ordering system was based off a QR code on your table and you choose what you want and just basically order from your phone which kinda sucks cause you're touching things and your phone and wasting battery just to order food.... Soups were more to flavor our food, we got mushroom, beef, and spicy... I tried the broth and it was just oily but gave a good kick to the veggies and meat. The sauce station didn't really have suggestions so my sauce came out a little salty and I don't think I would even know how to replicate it. All I remember was the angus beef short rib priced at $12.99 which had a good amount of fat and wasn't too chewy or rough if we left it in the soup too long. Overall I would go back. We ordered a passion fruit juice for the table for $11.99 and with the amount of food we all eat it was decently priced at about $35-40 per person. Wow have I stepped into China??? Even walking in the smell in the air reminded me of restaurants in China. The decor and tables are like the hot pot spots you'd find in China. Let me tell you, usually with these hot pot spots the extra dishes aren't great. I was blown away at the goodies you get in the dessert self serve! There's all kinds of candy and fried sweets. The fried sesame ball and taro ball was so fresh and crunchy. Don't get me started on the sweet soup options! They had sweet rice and glutinous balls. The red bean soup, then some other herbal ones I have no idea how to spell in English. Moving onto the hot pot! The soups were flavorful. I loved them all. We got Szechuan, bone broth, tomato. I'm not a spicy eater so I went with the bone broth. It's still pretty flavorful. You could also choose to do half and half or even 3 different soups in one pot. I would say the cost and meat quality is about mid-range. About $50-60 per person should fill you up nicely. Plenty of options for everyone. Can see myself back. Presentation and interior is nice too. Lives up to the pictures from the business although where we were eating was pretty bright in comparison. Still good lighting and comfy seats. Parking might be a little tough in the lot when it gets busy since there aren't a ton of spaces. Very very disappointed with this service, this is my second visit, and the reason why I came for a second visit is because of their whelming service. We came in at 8.40 pm and we knew that they closed at 10 pm, and we ordered our food immediately, the bleach skinny male server came to bring our food and clean the tray where we put our empty plates by OURSELVES. We took our extra chopsticks and napkins by OURSELVES, but no one came to us to ask if we doing ok. Our soup is almost empty and we need to keep looking for ONE server to refill the soup. This is really ridiculous. When we asked for a manager, they said the manager was not there and NO ONE could come to handle this problem. I guess is because we are a party of 7 and they could charge a gratuity fee to us, so they just ignore the service and start to do their closing side job. This place is having their soft opening so they're having a fat promo which is 42% off your entire bill from now until early August. So, of course I had to go try it knowing that they also had Wagyu on their menu! I know the place was already going to be super busy because of the promo that's going on, so I decided to waitlist on Yelp right when they open, which is at 5pm. It says it was a 200 minute wait already. Good thing it allowed me to wait without being there so I left when it was almost my turn which at that point had already been 4 hours from then. Parking was a tricky. They had a parking lot in the back but it was very small and had no spots left so I parked on the street instead. The ambiance was great. Very nice and clean. Their pot also had a dragon head on it which was very unique. They had a sauce bar and my favorite was their mushroom sauce. They also had a snack bar with different fruits and appetizers. I got a bunch of their garlic cucumber and it was so addicting and crunchy! If you can't handle spicy, i would say the mushroom soup is the best. I also got Chengdu fried rice and it was so delicious! They had a bunch of expensive type meats which I ordered such as wagyu beef, ribeye, beef belly, shrimp paste and more. My least favorite would probably be the marinated beef tongue as it was a bit too tough for my liking. We also got their veggie combo which consisted of tonghao, spinach, and cabbage. It was very worth because they packed it with a lot of veggies. Their quality was very good and it's definitely considered as a high end restaurant with quality meats. Service was also great despite them being so busy. The servers constantly came and checked up on our table and filled up our soups without us even asking. Solid for hot pot, with pretty decent service, although some caveats that make them tough for smaller groups (and possibly good for slightly larger groups). Modern interior and feel, tables and burners seem to be extra large, which is great to fill a table with 4 people with food, but also a bit hard to talk/hear each other if just 2 or even 3 of you. The interior is also a bit loud from however it's laid out, so ambient noise is rough. And the pots are very decorative, be careful not burn yourself on the tiger head shaped handles. Sauce bar is pretty decent but only single containers/pots for some of the more commonly used items, ditto for the appetizer/dessert bar. Food is actually quite good in quality, with angus beef and a sliced lamb-- the lamb in particular was good, and the tripe portions were generous. The assorted tripe/aorta as well as just the beef tripe plate, nom. Yam noodles and veggies are solid too. Fish balls were more than okay, but seemed to set tone-- good but not memorable. And while my friend loves sheep brain I am not sure if it's more for show or what...? In the end it was not a bad visit, but something about the overall experience felt just a bit less enjoyable than some of their competitors. read more

I very much enjoy their attention to detail (providing apron, hair tie, mini toothbrush, etc), but I personally just don't think their food is the best. This is very subjective, but I do not like their soup base. I normally get the tomato soup base at places like haidilao and wagyu house, but I feel like the tomato soup base here just doesn't taste that great. Their meat quality can definitely be a bit better. I ordered the Wagyu beef, lamb, etc, and when they first came it was still quite frozen. I wouldn't say it was bad meat, but it wasn't something that would melt in your mouth. I will say, their crispy pork was actually SO GOOD! Delicious and fresh!! I finally tried this place out with a couple of friends. Loved how clean and generous the sauce bar was. They also have an appetizer bar that has these really tasty crunchy mushrooms, along with ice jelly dessert, fresh fruits, seaweed salad + more. My favorite is the sweet potato noodle. The meat was super fresh. I also loved the shrimp wrapped in bamboo pith. So good! After dinner we took a tour of the upstairs private dining area. Went here with a group of friends and it was around 45 min - 1 hr wait as we went during peak hours. Would recommend signing in and checking in just to be sure! They have an awesome bar for snacks (e.g., shrimp chips, sesame balls, fresh cut fruits and cold dishes) We tried out their cold dishes like the vinegar chicken feet, and their cucumber salad! And you definitely will need these when you get their spicy pot. More on that later. We also got some of the chips and sesame balls that were super yummy. They have some chips in mini bags and it was so convenient. They also let you take some home to eat! Their sauce bar has every sauce you can think of! The only thing that was hard was that some of them had English labels and the rest were Chinese so it was hard to know what was what. I just threw everything in my sauce bowl lol.
