A solid Hunan restaurant that's been around for years. The environment is modest, but the food delivers. The purple perilla braised fish was flavorful and comforting, and the double pepper frog had just the right level of heat. The soy sauce stir-fried noodles were surprisingly good and showed real wok skills. Prices are very reasonable, with multiple $9.99 specials, which is rare in LA these days. Overall, a great choice for authentic Hunan cuisine and strong value.

One of the best hunan cuisine in Rosemead! Their spice is very authentic and their spicy frog dish and ground purple pepper is a must order! Their family owned for a long time and their service and taste still remained the same! Loved their family style portion and service!

These days, more and more Hunan restaurants are opening in Los Angeles, but once people start talking about them, the topic of pre-made dishes almost always comes up. Maybe because of that, this long-standing spot that has quietly been around for over a decade in LA feels even more special. When it comes to this place, honestly, does anyone ever question it? They used to have handwritten menus, which gave such a strong hometown vibe. The portions are generous, the prices are very fair, and there is nothing flashy or gimmicky about it. Just authentic flavors, plain and simple. Truly an OG Hunan restaurant in Los Angeles, and absolutely worth a visit.

The chicken was super tender and juicy, not dry at all.The egg tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside -- so good with rice. The frog legs had a nice chew to them, firm with a bit of bounce. The farmhouse stir-fry was dangerously good with rice -- way too easy to keep eating. We ended up eating so much that the server refilled our rice twice without us even asking. Super sweet and attentive service. They also have a round table with a lazy Susan, which makes it really easy to reach all the dishes when you're dining with a group. Great food, great setup, and great service. Definitely coming back.

Tried Hunan Spicy Taste and really enjoyed the food. The double-pepper frog was super flavorful and tender, with just the right amount of heat. The Nongjia Yi Wan Xiang (farmhouse-style dish) was also a standout -- very comforting, savory, and perfect with rice. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. Definitely a solid spot if you're craving authentic Hunan flavors. Would come back again.

Foods are always on point here. One of the best Hunan cuisine. They are spicy but spicy good. service is amazing. The place looks like your aunty's kitchen. All foods are very boldly seasoned. You will not be disappointed

I went here for lunch today. I dare not comment on other Hunan cuisine restaurants because I have not tried them before. The advantage of this restaurant is that you don't have to queue up and you can eat whenever you want. The preserved egg and eggplant with peppers are delicious, the fried rice is very fragrant, the pork liver is very tender and delicious, and the dried tofu and twice-cooked pork are relatively ordinary. Overall, I am very satisfied. I also had a cup of their milk tea. The milk tea is very cheap, but not as good as the one in hacienda heights

Connected to Chapu Tea Bar. Parking in the back lot or street parking. Originally, my friend and I came for tea, but decided to just sit at the table to talk and we later got hungry, so our dinner here was unplanned. Be prepared, the menu items are all in Chinese. Pros: Excellent, authentic Hunan cuisine! The dishes are just as good as the spicy Hunan dishes I've had in China, so I was quite impressed. We ordered the "mouth watering" chicken dish, spicy garlic cucumbers, and sausage fried rice, they were all really good! Servers are bluntly straightforward, get their tasks done pretty efficiently. They take CC, not a cash-only place. Cons: Servers are not engaging or friendly probably because the place gets so busy and they have to seriously multi-task (but they will attend to your needs). Damn, the Pelegríno here is $6, what a ridiculous mark-up if you opt for sparkling water! There's a complimentary water canteen that is self-serve. Servers won't bring you water. There's no private bathroom inside, you will need the code to access the one out in the hallway. Come for the food and easy parking!

The menu is not in English, so good luck if you don't read or speak Mandarin. This cuisine was very ethnic, so not something I can appreciate. Majority of the dishes have blood and guts, it was a visceral experience on many levels, lol. Spicy and extremely salty, looks like most dishes were cooked in the same base sauce. It was one dimensional in that sense. Can't say this was a good experience for me. I had an upset stomach for the extreme saltiness and greasiness.

And probably the busiest store in the already crazy busy plaza. I see why the line goes out the door. Flavor was excellent. Well balanced. Nothing overpowering. Staff were polite, well dressed, and friendly despite the crowd. Ordering was easy. Ingredients measured which tells me they're consistent. Super consistent. I'm sure others rave about the drink sleeve with the trusty rope handle. Which is surprisingly sturdy. I mean, don't go swinging around your highly crafted drink you paid good money for. But you could. Great vibe, limited seating. Shared plaza bathroom that you have to request a key. And parking is nuts. Bring a friend and drop them off to get in this line while you park. Pro tip. Enjoy and cheers.

I love that they have an online ordering system that does not charge extra fees. I still hate that this is located in a very limiting parking lot. There is often no parking space available, so it's best to come with someone else so that they can wait in the car while you run in to grab the drinks.

I usually ask for less ice and 0% percent sugar since it's already sweetened with honey. The oolong is fragrant, smooth and tastes high quality, making every sip a treat. This drink instantly brightens my day. The staff are friendly and ordering from the self-service kiosk makes it quick and easy. It's definitely a grab and go spot. The only downside is that the shop is tucked toward the back of the plaza, somewhat hidden and parking can be difficult during busy times. I usually have better luck finding street parking. With so many tea shops popping up, Chun Yang continues to be one of my tried and true favorites- a perfect fusion of traditional and modern.
