I ordered the orange chicken. The chicken was super dry, and the egg roll that came with it was luke warm. I would not recommend it.

This place isn't it. I have had a lot of food trucks in my neighborhood and it was on my bucket list to try one out. I saw the food was $10 not including tax so like $12 something but I was hungry enough to not want to drive 10 minutes to get a bento box for only $8. So expensive food, and no options to change the rice to fried rice or noodles. Yeah that was an L for me. I waited about 5-8 minutes for my food. When it came out it was HOT. Smelt good too. Customer service was nice. I opened my food and had a bite of the chicken katsu. The texture reminded me of chicken nuggets from my freezer. It felt soggy to me. But the sauce was good and so was the breading. Next thing was the egg rolls. Those were standard. Lastly I had the rice. It was dry. Most of it felt stale. I am not sure if they did not add enough water when making the rice or if they just left it out? I saw the rice cooker?? Typically I am used to soft rice. I will never buy from a food truck again without reading the Yelp reviews. read more

This truck made a special trip to my neighborhood, so I made a special trip to feed my family. The deal was 2 proteins, rice and a side for $10.99. So I ordered 2 meals - orange chicken/chicken katsu/spring roll and orange chicken/pork chashu/spring roll and walked it home. The person running the window said it would be a ten minute wait, which is fine, considering the truck came to me. Everything was delicious. The spring rolls didn't need a sauce - they had plenty of flavor on their own. The katsu was amazing - usually the katsu I get at the copious teriyaki places in the area is overcooked and rubbery. This was perfect and had a different but delicious sauce. The orange chicken was fresh and fluffy, and the rice was perfect. I would absolutely seek out this food truck again (I am surprised at the amount of poor reviews) and if it comes back to my neighborhood, I will make sure to return! read more

Stood here for 30 min waiting on my food with about 15 other very (very) upset people. While the food was tasty, it over salted my experience with the food truck. The owner reached out to me with an heartfelt apology. I'll give this place a shot again next week, and update my review. For the time being, I feel if you see people waiting outside of the truck. Our apartment offered free lunch from this food truck so I can't complain too much but the food was bad. I would've been very upset if I had paid for it. Positives: it was ready quickly even while they were busy. The seaweed salad was good. Same as you would buy in a grocery store but no complaints there. Negatives: the food was lukewarm. It all tasted like it was bought at the frozen food section and was served cafeteria style. The Katsu and orange chicken were the most edible, but I wouldn't call them good. We did not finish either the pork or teriyaki. The marinated pork and sauce was mealy and grainy. I've never had teriyaki chicken that was more bland. It literally takes like boiled chicken. Overall, absolutely would not recommend. Genuinely feel gross after eating some of this food. If offered this again, even for free, I don't think I would eat it. read more

Easily in the running for 1 of the worse places I've ever eaten. I normally check Yelp before I search for food, but I let my eyes and stomach do the talking and ordered what looked in the photo to be decent chicken curry. What I got was what looked like a TV dinner, cheap overcooked chicken (only thing that resembled actual food), dry brown rice, and sweet corn that I thought would be warm, no it tasted like they pulled it out of the fridge and scooped some out of a bin, just want I wanted cold corn with my hot meal gross, and then a tiny generic spring roll the size of a tootsie roll. Oh and the best part, I ordered a 2 dollar drink, which was a can of coke...not even cold, Luke warm like they just pulled it out the case they bought from costco. Really disappointed with this food truck. I was craving a rice dish. So I got the teriyaki chicken and chasu with white rice and spring rolls. The rice was very undercooked which kills the whole meal for me. Chicken teriyaki was fine but the sauce is a bit over salted in my opinion and comprised of bits of chicken instead strips like most places. My wife and I got the chicken Katsu and we were both pleased with how it tasted and the quality of the ingredients that went into it. Yo this was not the move. Maybe there were having an off day but, the spring rolls, gyoza, and chicken teriyaki was just cheap and bad. My teriyaki chicken had the left over dirty grease drizzled on that bad boy instead of sauce, was gritty and bitter. I don't think I have ever thrown away that much food before in my life, it was inedible. I mean the rice was edible at least but, if you were messing up rice with a rice cooker there are other problems going on in your life. Had teriyaki chicken, Delicious tender meat, huge portions. Fresh side dishes, flavorful but not overly sweet. They had long line at west lake park today, but they served fast, and they patiently explained the differences between teriyaki and Katsu to me. Ordered popcorn chicken, veggie stir fry, elephant ear, and spring rolls. Food was drastically over priced for the quality. The veggie stir fry was almost all rice with side of vegetables and kimchee. The "veggie" part was just potatoes and broccoli...never seen such a poor dish. On top of this whole food debacle, the service execution was terrible. I was told a 7 minute wait with the stir fry taking longest. After 15 mins, everything was ready except the popcorn chicken, even though I saw 3 orders of it given to others that ordered after me. The woman said "I'm sorry" by default but didn't seem that genuine as she didn't try expediting or providing explanation. After 25 mins, I received my food and my to go order was packed in basic paper trays instead of containers. Will never go back to this truck and would not recommend. read more

i got the curry chicken katsu with brown rice and spring rolls. even with all the bad reviews i decided to check this place out, since there's not really a good place to eat katsu.... and there still isn't. the good points: different choices regarding rice and side dishes. side salad wasn't too bad the bad points: curry was thin and not enough of it. it didn't even hit the rice. katsu tasted it like was sitting in a covered tin... very soggy. so much rice yeah.. not planning to go back... not worth the price. read more

Mediocre at best. Save your money. I got the chicken katsu. I asked for sauce on the side, they put it on top anyway. I asked if there was extra katsu and the nice lady pointed outside to sauce, which wasn't katsu. The portions are okay, slightly smaller than expected. The chicken was not good. It was rubbery and wasn't crispy like katsu should be. The way they placed the food made it so half of my chicken has katsu sauce, the rest did not. The rice was alright, but it is rice. The salad is just bag salad with standard teriyaki place salad dressing. Overall I wouldn't spend money here again. Even basic teriyaki places are better. read more

However they only offered about half dozen items, three chicken dishes, two pork dishes and one all vegetable dish. Do not get the chicken teriyaki, it is awful. It looks nothing like the pictures. I thought I would get normal sized chicken pieces like any other chicken teriyaki out there, but what I got was tiny scraps of chicken. Most of it was very hard. It tasted more like salty soy sauce than teriyaki sauce. This place always has a huge line and I have no idea why. Maybe their other dishes are good? The "chicken" was what seemed to be pebbles of leftover trimmings soaked in sea water. No sauce. I got teriyaki chicken today, which comes in a great portion with lots of tender and juicy meats. I think most of the negative reviews have impractical expections about the Teriyaki trucks. It is definitely not going to be the most authentic Japanese food you will find in the area., but it's fast and tasty. I still love it. read more

I'm really sorry to leave a bad review but it was just so bad...soooo bad. My bf ordered a curry chicken rice that was $13 after tax and $15 after tip. Curry was bland/watered down AF and the side of corn was straight out of the can. I've been cooking Japanese curry for a long time and my 8-yr old self could have made it better. Should prob blame my partner since he should know better than to order a $15 curry. I hate to be so critical, so I'm leaving two stars instead of one and hoping that the company will take this criticism into mind (at least there's room for improvement). read more
