I've managed both large-scale office moves (5x of 50-100 people) and my personal residence (10x), and the crew that Z Movers sent was hands-down the best I've worked with. The crew members were very professional and courteous. The booking/dispatch staff was on point and just the right amount of communication happened in the 48 hours leading up to the move. It's hard to lose someone and take possession of the items they wanted me to have. The movers arrived on time. They worked fast and secured everything for transport. Unloaded into a storage space leaving more room than I expected to have. They were caring and took care of my belongings, which are now heirlooms for me. I moved last Tuesday and couldn't be happier with Z Movers!!! Fast, efficient, careful, affordable and thoughtful. I found Z Movers from a web search, and then I read the many positive reviews from Google and Yelp! There were other companies that also had many positive reviews, and also had the same pricing. I called Z Movers because they were close to my apartment, and then I choose to hire them because the two people I spoke with on the phone had superior customer service skills. For example: our old place had a very narrow driveway with a tricky angle to enter, and I wanted to make sure a 17 foot van would fit. They checked it out on google maps. I had quite a few questions, and the fellow on the phone, Gabriel, helped thoroughly even though it was almost closing time when I called. On moving day they arrived when they said they'd arrive. 2 of the nicest, most energetic, good-natured, strong dudes, Gio and Gabriel, were our movers. They never wasted a single moment. They were fast but careful. We moved from a first floor one bedroom apartment to second floor one bedroom apartment (in a complex, so it required traveling a distance up stairs and through a gate down a walkway and up more stairs). We had tons of boxes as also very heavy yet extra fragile furniture. They never slowed down, they were extremely efficient as well as gentle with the fragile stuff. Some of the items we had packed were glass, and we thought we did a good job, but they took extra cautionary steps to add extra padding and wrapping. Not one thing was broken. Not one thing was even dented or scratched. The drive time was about 30 minutes each way and the cost and total time of the move was what was generally estimated. (About $550). (It was about 8:30am to 2pm to move way too much stuff into a not-extremely accessible location). That cost was industry standard, but their service was in a higher class, way above standard. As a total side note, my little dog usually barks at everyone who enters his immediate vicinity, like crazy, until he gets to know them. Maybe his "good person"-radar was working, because he didn't make a peep at Gio or Gabriel, and was as friendly as can be while watching them move our belonging. I love my new apartment and don't plan on moving again soon, but when I do move, I will 100% hire Z Movers again. read more

She spoke very highly about the company, and I really appreciated the referral, because moving can be so stressful, and there are many companies that don't take great care in protecting and moving your items. They were prompt, communicative, well-prepared, friendly, courteous, and efficient. They took great care in wrapping all of my items, and they provided wardrobe boxes for all of my hanging closet items. I wouldn't call the service inexpensive, but having used inexpensive movers in the past, I would much rather pay what I did for peace of mind. I used Z Movers two years ago and they were fantastic (the owner, Peter was one of my two movers), but when I used them a couple months ago, I felt I had been ripped off. TLDR: nope nope nope, go with someone else. 1st time: the movers arrived and were very friendly, very organized, very prepared and very fast. Boxes were thrown inside massive dolly carts, which went straight into the truck. Glass furniture was wrapped in cellophane and padded materials, put on wheels and straight into the truck. They understood very easily and didn't need me to make their decisions, they just went to work. They moved my ground unit 1-bedroom into another 1-bedroom on the 2nd floor a few miles away. 2nd time: these guys did not seem altogether there. They were weird. I had to repeat instructions several times and they kept arguing that there was no way half my furniture came in through the front door the last time, claiming I misremembered and I must have built the furniture inside the apartment. One guy must have been out of his mind, he wrapped the cat litter box in cello-tape and I had to explain to him that I had to clean it out first. "Why?" -- "Well, unless you want cat poop all over your truck, be my guest." This same guy decided to wrap my nightstand after I told him I was gonna pull out the contents of the drawers, first. He said it was fine to go straight into the truck with the drawers filled with stuff. Then he flipped it upside down in front of me, and I could hear the thunderous sound of a thousand tiny metal and glass objects rattling around (because the drawers don't fully come out, it took hours to fish the contents out from behind later on). They spent inordinate amounts of time moving some items, including the couch which took on/off over an hour. After their numerous failed attempts, I investigated and found, underneath all the cello-tape they had wrapped the couch with, the feet were still connected. "You realize these come off, right? That gives you at least 3 more inches." And I was stunned that they continued to argue with me that wouldn't help. Well, it worked as soon as they took the feet off so I guess that makes me the pro. I can understand gross incompetence but what I consider unforgivable was that these guys charged me to take over an hour and a half's worth of breaks in the middle of the day. "We're just gonna grab some lunch at this corner store, probably 30 minutes." Took over an hour. "We're just gonna catch our breath for 5 minutes." Took 20 minutes. Cumulatively, they might have taken well over 2 hours since there were plenty of times I wasn't paying attention to where they were. I figured they were fine to take breaks, but I didn't expect to pay them for it. I even tipped these guys before they handed me the bill and I was shocked when they explained I owed them for every minute since they had started their truck in the morning. I don't get paid for breaks at my job, so why should you? They offered a discount for paying in cash. Yeah, right. Keep dreaming. 1st time: cost me about $600 for a one bedroom apartment. 2nd time: cost me about $850 with half the furniture as the 1st time (and that's with a nifty 10% discount for repeat business). In all of companies and people you choose in the process of moving, choosing Z Movers was the best choice we could have made. They showed up on-time (early in fact) and hustled from the very start to the very end. Peter and his team took such care moving the delicate items, to making sure all of the furniture in our new place made it in with ease and without leaving any marks. They brought a ton of wardrobe boxes to move the hanging stuff. I could go on about how great they were during each of the rest of the steps of the move, but the truth is they were so great, I didn't have to worry or watch over them. Z Movers did a remarkable job with their help in moving my heavier pieces of furniture from my old house to my new house. Of special note, was their excellent team work in determining the best way to lift a very heavy 360lb, 72" x 72" glass table top, from the driveway, up an exterior staircase, and into my new office above the garage. Three other moving companies declined to bid on this job because of their reluctance to move the glass. Z Movers did not back down from this challenge. I hired Z Movers in November to help me move personally from my 1-bedroom in Hollywood to Santa Monica. The movers were on-time, professional and had a great personality. We made sure they had water and were fed since they were taking care of all our personal items. They overcame the furniture challenges that we knew would be an issue. (huge sectional into our new place...had to improvise and go through the window) We were there the whole time finishing up our packing and making sure we did our final cleaning before we turned in our keys. They are definitely worth every penny! Then, I knew I was going to be moving offices soon and I wanted to use them. I hired them again since I knew they were dependable. They moved my 1400 sqft office to the new 3,000sqft in Venice and it was a breeze. Now I was 5-month pregnant so to have their help was so amazing! From there, I had left over furniture that I was trying to sell at the new office. I needed movers to help me again donate all of it to Salvation Army. They were there for a quick 3-hour gig, took everything to the donation center and called it a day. I will keep hiring them for all my moves and know you get so much quality with them. The reviews are real -- these guys are fantastic. I've used them twice during the last year, once into storage and once into our new place a year later. These guys go the extra mile -- they couldn't get a dresser down the stairway because it was too big, so they hoisted it OUT OF THE WINDOW, to make sure we could get it out. It wasn't an ikea dresser and we were fine leaving it -- but they made sure they could get it out. Where do you see service like that? Never. They are also incredibly careful with your stuff, they packed all of our delicate kitchen ware and fragile items -- and after a year in storage when they moved them in and we unpacked -- not a thing was broken. Fact: the cost of my 1-bedroom move totaled to $1390. Fact: it took 2 movers 11.5 hours to move my 1 bedroom. Fact: my 1 bedroom was 640 square feet. I had 1 bedroom set, 1 living room set, no heavy items such as a piano, no fancy/antique delicate items. Fact: I moved 6.5 miles. Fact: There is 1 flight of stairs at one apartment and no flight of stairs (first floor) at new apartment. Fact: I ordered 3 movers with Kevin, but the company instead sent out 2 movers. I don't think it's necessary for me to bash this company. (I am willing, however, to edit this review and go into detail on any of these facts if they choose to respond to this review negatively or deny any of these facts.) I am just stating facts based on my experience with ZMovers that I would have liked to know when choosing a moving company. I would want to know if a 1-bedroom move would total over $500, and especially if it would total over $1000. I would want to know if a small 1-bedroom apartment move would take them more than 5 hours. I would want to know if what I request when scheduling the move (3 movers) will be fulfilled or not. I think we'd all want to know these things when choosing a moving company on Yelp. ~Adding a screenshot of the email they sent when confirming the appointment to prove I was in fact a customer. I also still have our invoice but not in digital form so I won't bother to add it. I don't have to identify myself by giving the owner the name I used to book our move (my husband's). I don't want anything from the company at this point. My intent is to share my unfortunate experience with others which I have a right to do. I also don't know the owner who responded. We worked with Kevin and unless Kevin has had many experiences similar to ours, he definitely knows who we are. Kevin knows that we ended up negotiating a lower total cost (still ridiculously high, but not as bad as $1390), so that is why the owner cannot find an invoice for $1390. The invoice does list the $1390 but then Kevin subtracted some $ to get us to what we finalized. It took us a long time on the phone with him to get the total down and his movers waited at our home until we agreed on a number, so even they would remember our experience. read more

These guys are the real deal. We're way too old to bribe our friends to help us move with beer and pizza, and there's no way we could've done this ourselves. I honestly can not say enough good things about Z Movers, from setting up our appointment to actually getting everything moved in, it was all seamless! Moving can be a true nightmare, but everyone at Z Movers was especially helpful and made the day great. Our movers were Fernando and Gary and they did a fantastic job. Our furniture is SO heavy, but they got it out and in perfectly. They also informed me about getting a moving permit, something I would never have done had they not been so communicative. I am not sure how this company has so many five star ratings because my experience was fairly terrible. -Setting up the appointment was quick, easy and efficient. However, everything went down hill from there -Scheduled an early appointment because I had to work within a pretty tight timeline. Appointment was set for 8:00am, great -Movers showed up 1.5 hours late -Packing, wrapping and moving felt pretty unprofessional. I had a lot of concerns with how they were handling my items. I could hear one of the movers simply tossing and dumping my stuff into their cart. This was happening while I was standing there so it makes me wonder how they handled my goods when I was not around -Unsurprising they damaged one of my lamps, plus had to quickly repair a small table leg that somehow came apart. Everything they moved went into storage so I have no idea if anything else broke along the way. By the time I find out, it will probably be too late -Their insurance policy is $0.60 per pound. So hypothetically if they broke your 20 lbs TV they will probably try to pay you $12.00. -Tried to over charge me by stating their 3 hour minimum was for work time only and did not include driving. I have used other companies before which always considered driving time as part of their minimum -Calculated the rate incorrectly, initially charging me more. Fortunately, I caught the error and did the math myself. Glad, I did not simply pay -As a means to make amends for damaging my belongings they allowed me to pay only the hours that I was quoted for and removed the deceptive extra hour up charge. So I ended up with damaged goods and essentially zero compensation. -Use caution with these movers, good luck if you choose to use them read more

Across the board, a fantastic moving experience. I didn't have a ton of stuff, but what stuff I did have was disorganized and not super well prepared. They came over within the expected time window, started a little early without extra charge, made sense of the chaos, and then got to work. Super friendly and happy to listen to my many picky requests and obscure warnings. The speed with which they wrapped up and protected certain objects I was very worried about getting dirty or damaging was incredible. Finished ahead of schedule and without complications. Every few years I move to a better apartment, they've been there for each move. And everytime my experience has been nothing short of amazing. Today Carlos and Gio ( Forgive me if I misspelled the name) were my movers. Both were super friendly, communicative and helpful. Z movers always help make the moving process easier. Every one is always straight to work, they waste no time and they get the job done. I have a 65" curve tv and each time they have moved my tv, there has never been any damage. All of my furniture is always wrapped, padded and protected perfectly. I don't use any other company because this is the only one that I trust with my valuables. Also there are never any surprise fee's. Normally I can estimate just about how many hrs it will take and how much I'll spend.
