Not sure why the rave reviews. The price was pretty steep but I figured it was worth the extra $ to get a five star service. The TWO men they sent out were pretty efficient but with some gripes, one, they were LATE. I mean 45 minutes late. Luckily they ended up getting packed before my estimate. Two, there is a large bookshelf in my home. I built it inside a room, and wouldnt fit back out the door. I told them again and again please just loosen the top screws and the entire thing will bend easily in a parallelogram shape (Which other movers have had NO PROBLEM WITH). So the time comes for them to unload it to the new place, and they just cannot get it. They spent 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out, even after I told them OVER and OVER how to do it. They took off the ENTIRE TOP of the shelf!!! And spent so much time putting it back on... Wasted time. One of them scraped the chair on the floor and left a scuff mark on the bamboo floor where I moved into. All in all it was ok. But for the money it was not great, and they should have sent three people for security, knowing they would have to unload in an apartment in the heart of LA, where things are easily stolen. Many times BOTH movers were in an elevator with the truck wide open. I am glad I was keen enough to stand on the balcony to watch the truck. Not sure why its 5 stars, I will return to All-in movers next time, who were always on time, and much cheaper. (I paid 395 BEFORE TIP for a 1br apartment move. After a year and a half, I moved and called Z Movers up again. They were great my first move from WeHo to Burbank, so I was sure I wanted them to help my move this time around. Our friend recommended Z Movers to us and we are extremely glad we hired them. They were on time, friendly and professional, and efficient. Their rates may seem a little higher than other moving companies but they don't have all these extra hidden fees like some other movers do. They are upfront about their fees and even check in half way through the move to let you know where you're at cost-wise. Regardless, they are worth the price. We moved out of two different LA apartments to Orange County, which was a pain since we had SO MUCH STUFF, but they had a great attitude and sense of humor throughout the whole move. I am only about 40% done opening all of our boxes but so far nothing has been broken or damaged (including our furniture, walls, and flooring) since they did such a good job handling and wrapping our stuff. TLDR Version: Use these folks to get your move executed in a timely and efficient manner for an extremely competitive price. They are excellent at managing expectations. Kevin and Peter are amazing and experienced crew members who will get you in and out in no time flat. I was looking for a company that could get me out of my storage unit and into the home I purchased and had just finished renovating; time was of the essence as my current living arrangements were up. It was a Thursday, and I needed a moving company to assist me with transporting my belongings a few miles down the road that weekend. I contacted a company through Yelp (who shall remain nameless as they didn't even respond to my inquiry...), and typically as Yelp does, it offers to send the message to additional companies. Z Movers happened to be one on the list whom I sent a CC to. Let me tell you, it should have been the first [and only] one I contacted. Within an hour of my request, Z Movers sent me a quote for services, as well as their current availability for the weekend time slots. Other companies who responded did so half-heartedly, being non-committal on price, time, or even both. I mean, honestly how hard is it to say "Sorry, we won't be able to help you in the time frame you requested" Z Movers came across to me as a straight-shooting company that would give me that response if they truly couldn't help. Thankfully they could actually lend a hand! I accepted Z Movers' offer the next day (Friday), but by that time, only one slot for the weekend remained available: Saturday afternoon. I happily booked it and awaited further contact - they responded that I would receive a call by 11:30 Saturday to confirm the final time. As they stated, they called me Saturday morning to inform me that the team of Kevin and Peter would arrive at my unit by 1:45 pm. By 1:15, Peter called me personally and apologized that they wouldn't arrive until approximately 2:30; he didn't want me to be waiting at the storage unit wondering where they were. At 2:25, they rolled up with their big blue truck, I signed some paperwork, and BOOM! Kevin and Peter were off, firing like a well-oiled machine. They must seriously be Tetris and Jenga masters, as it took them mere minutes to sort, plan, and securely stack items that my family and friends spent hours on with my initial move to the unit. All said and done, the full move was complete in just under 2 hours, even as a last-minute job booking, and I couldn't be happier. After doing my research and calling several companies for a quote I decided to go with Z movers. When I called the gentleman on the phone was kind and knowledgeable and the price he quoted me was great. I was told to expect the 3 movers between 9 and 9:30 and they arrived right at 9:15am. We couldn't have asked for better help! They were quick but careful and so nice. I bought them some lunch for when they went on break and they were really grateful. All in all they spent 7 hours moving us into our new home and helped reassemble all the furniture that needed to be. They were upfront about all costs and explained every single cost and discount at the end of the day. So, there are not enough stars to express our gratitude for our recent move. Lalo and crew moved us a mere 5 miles from one point to another - however, let it not be lost that they moved us to a more complex home (think multiple floors, and stairs... all the stairs!). All was well and moving along nicely until it came time to get one piece of furniture in that would not fit in the stairwell. Instead of trying to force it or worse off, stretch the truth - Lalo and team were forthcoming, told us what we needed to potentially make it happen, or give us the choice of what to do if we didn't go that route. Well, we chose to try based upon how upfront he was with us, and low and behold, the crew's leader showed up to help. When I say that they were not only creative with their approach - they were thoughtful, careful and basically got that piece of furniture in here unharmed. The best!!! Three guys showed up on time and moved all of my belongings from my two-bedroom/one bath house 30 miles away. The entire move only took 3.5 hours! The guys even hung around and helped us put little felt pads on the legs of all the furniture so it wouldn't scratch the hardwood floors in our new place. So, I wanted to update my review, as I just had Peter and Kevin move me again. And I will likely have them move me again in a year. Look, I'm not a fugitive or anything, but the life of a single woman lets me move around as much as I want. I just have a little case of wanderlust. This time my wanderlust is leading me out of the country so I needed to put my stuff in storage. I may have been a little "frugal" in choosing my storage unit size, but they crammed every last piece of my stuff into the unit with room to spare. And for all the single ladies (insert Beyoncé song here) - Kevin and Peter are not only sweet, funny, strong, careful with your stuff, and efficient, but I felt super safe. There is zero creep factor with these handsome chaps (am I being creepy now? Look, a handsome man is a handsome man. Add it to the plus side of these guys). Anyway, I feel like sometimes women have to look out for other women. Let's be honest, if we had loads of strapping lads waiting at the ready to move us we wouldn't have to hire movers. The guys worked quickly and were very friendly (not to mention easy on the eyes.) All items moved were boxed /bubble wrapped or had blankets on them. Nothing was damaged or scratched. I've moved so many times over the years and there are plenty of shady companies that quote one price and at the end charge you for a ton of little things. We had such a great experience with Gabriel and his crew; Jose, John, Anthony and Lionel. They were on time to our storage place and got right to work. My impression right off the bat was that this crew was going to be a lot of fun because they were so warm and friendly and immediately gained rapport with my husband and I. The crew worked fast and efficiently. They covered all my furniture with plastic and/or blankets to ensure safe transport. John was in charge of packing the truck and we were impressed with how much stuff he got in one truck! Once they got to our house we were amazed how fast and hard they worked. We never saw them take a break the whole time. We couldn't believe how quickly they were done, which was nice since they charge by the hour. Afterwards we didn't notice any scrapes on our freshly painted walls, so that was evident they were careful while taking our items in. I reached out to Peter, who was very responsive, sending me the moving information and require packets ahead of time and working with me to find a good date and time. The team showed up within the assigned start window and were very friendly. I have used a couple of movers over the years and Z movers is very professional. When we moved to my new location, all the items were in good condition and the team moved all the items upstairs with no elevator very quickly. I've moved professional movers to help me move two times before with less than stellar experiences. One of the moving companies was not honest about their pricing and packing over the phone and gave me a cheap rate over the phone only to be overcharged after the movers arrived. The other company flat out lost and or stole a box of clothes with professional suits and jackets that I didn't find out until several weeks later and my claim went nowhere. Needless to say my guard was up before using z movers. I was a little worried about how the move would go and if they would do a good job.
