Had some groupon bucks and was hungry so I searched "food". Z's was one of the few food places I could get a voucher for. I have seen this place driving around before but never thought about trying it. Until now. I looked at their website menu and decided on #207 Raffi's Super Kabob Combo. Comes with rice, salad both chicken and beef.. a grilled chili pepper and your choice of hummus! I got the habanero one... I had to choose between that and chipotle because I love spicy. It was all delicious! Can't wait to go back and try the chipotle hummus. Beef and chicken nicely charred and tender! Definitely recommend! read more

My family and I loved Z's Crazy Good in Monterey Park and were super disappointed to find it closed a few years back. Luckily, they moved around and came back to the area! I'd highly recommend the kebab plates, especially the beef lule. The shirazi salad and choices for hummus (5 I think) are great! I miss the roasted tomato and the lamb option though. The portions are generous and every friend I've brought here has loved it- there really is something for everyone whether you're in the mood for American, Mexican, or Mediterranean food. I will continue to eat at Z's and support this business because man is it worth it! read more

Ordered the BLT to-go and it came out to $7.71 total. Pretty good deal. The sandwich tasted like a really good diner sandwich. The cashier was super nice and it was extremely clean inside. I want to try dining in next time for that diner bang for your buck kind of deal. Parking is ample in the back and for my five minutes there, it did its job and satisfied my stomach! Highly recommended lunch or dinner plates! The Southwest grilled chicken salad was delicious but the dressing was to die for!! It really won me over. A must try if you like salads. The chicken was perfectly cooked, all the ingredients were fresh. The combo kabob plate is so flavorful it's the best of both worlds. The beef was so perfectly cooked. I was happy they let you select your choice of hummus flavor. I selected the chipotle hummus, very delicious! I wish the pita bread was a little toasty, just my personal preference. I love all the Zs restaurants and am so happy they are now right in the heart of Montebello at such a beautiful location. The Santa Fe salad is one of my favorite dishes on the menu, and the dressing is delicious. I also love that you get chicken in every forkful I also tried the beef lule kebab sandwich for the first time and was taken away by how juicy and tasty the meat was. In case you aren't aware, not only does Z's Resaurant serve a variety of fresh, delicious food at their casual, family-owned restaurant in Montebello, but they also do off-site catering!! A couple of weeks ago, my family asked Z's to cater a very special family-style luncheon for us, which included about 300 family and friends. I have to tell you, Z's did an absolutely amazing job at preparing and serving a scrumptiously, mouth-watering Mediterranean/Armenian Feast for us. And I don't use the word "feast" lightly!! Our guests arrived to find each of their tables filled with an array of appetizing mezze plates. I always enjoy a tastie Baba Ganoush (eggplant dip) as well as sarma (grape leaves) and cheese boreg ( cheese turnovers), and Z's did not disappoint! Next, the servers brought out the main course, which was perfectly seasoned and freshly cooked platters of Chicken Breast and Beef Kabobs. Accompanying the kabobs came plenty of fluffy, buttery Armenian rice pilaf and tender fassoulia (green beans braised in tomatoe sauce). As guests were finishing lunch and expressing how full they were, in addition to how awesome all of the food had been, the serving staff brought beautifully arranged platters of assorted sweet delights for dessert to each table. From deep chocolate brownies to cinnamon cake and mini cream puffs with fresh strawberries adorning each platter. There's always room for something sweet after a satisfying meal!! Needless to say, no one left the luncheon feeling hungry!! With some catering experience myself, I know you don't serve 300 people freshly made, Mediterranean delicacies in a timely manner without a great team leader and a very organized staff. A Big thanks to Z and his entire staff for the very delicious and plentiful meal, made with love, that we all greatly enjoyed!! Got a cali burrito and the meat was terrible! Every piece of meat was cartilage that gets stuck in your teeth. Terrible first time experience, and I don't know if I can recommend. I was hoping and expecting the same great flavors at Z's that I remember from Z's Crazy Good on Monterey Pass Road. Not sure if it has undergone change in ownership, management, or kitchen staff but my first and only experience at this location was sadly disappointing. I ordered the exact same plate I would order at the the Monterey Pass Road location. The chicken kabob combo plate was delicious and the only thing that kept me from frequenting the restaurant more before it closed was that they closed by early afternoon. In any case, this Z's chicken kabob plate looked the same, but tasted nothing to what I remember. The food had no flavor; the chicken was dry, the rice and cucumber salad were both plain and bland, even the hummus was chalky and grainy rather than creamy. I was really hoping to reconnect with Z's through this new locale--but it just didn't convince me. The stars are for overall cleanliness and friendly service. read more
