The food is good and we have been eating here for years. The service is excellent and welcoming. BUT the prices have gone way up. I stopped coming here over a year ago but forgot about the price difference. I'm thinking others feel the same way since for a Saturday night it wasn't very busy. It used to be packed on weekends. Stopped by Zugoi for dinner on a Thursday evening. The place was moderately busy, but that did not slow down the service. They are very fast and efficient. We sat down, and right away our drinks were brought out. Once we placed our order, almost immediately our miso and salads were out. I usually skip the salad at Asian places because I do not like the weird ginger dressing they put on top. This one I actually liked because there was little ginger and more like a vinaigrette. I wasn't a fan of their miso, very salty in my opinion. After reviewing the menu, I decided on a starter of the crab Rangoon and sesame chicken for my entree. The crab Rangoon came out and they were hot, crispy and the filling was good. They come with a sweet and sour dipping sauce on a bed of shredded lettuce and carrots. Very nice presentation. Next up came my sesame chicken. WOW! I was not expecting the entire plate to be piled full of chicken. The chicken was hot, crispy and very good. On the menu they ask you to specify whether you want mild, medium, hot or spicy. I chose mild and it was soo good. Way more than I was going to eat so almost right away I asked for a to-go box. The waitress seemed surprised that I asked for one so soon and her reaction had me giggling. I was impressed with the quality of the service, the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. If you choose to try Zugoi you will need to bring a big appetite and your fat stretchy pants because the portions are LARGE and in charge. I will be back! read more

Wow is this place bad. The potstickers are over cooked, the hosin sauce with them is way to sweet. The vegetable tempura is too heavy and over cooked. The tempura part was more like deep fried chicken batter and the veggies were tough. The lasVegas roll was soso but needed more sauce. The shrimp in the tiger roll was a squishy and soggy mess. The sticky rice was more of a plain bowl of jasmine rice. While it was good jasmine rice, it's not what was expected. All around failure. BEWARE: MENU PRICES ARE WRONG! Food was very tasty, however, today we went in for the first time and the menus said our meals were around $14, yet when we got the bill it had the items listed around $18. When asking our waitress about it she advised the prices in the menu are wrong and the prices charged were correct. She said they updated their prices a few days ago, but haven't updated their menus. Disappointed we weren't told before making our selections that the menu prices are wrong and that when being told of what happened it was not offered to honor the price in the menu for this specific instance. read more

Let me start out by saying I loved sushi kee. This new thai infusion sushi spot however does not match the quality. The order of Thom Kah soup was a nasty version of curry and had way too much fish sauce in it. Not to mention a heat level was not asked about and it was WAY spicy, as was everything else we ordered. The lobster crazy roll says spicy eel sauce.... it tasted like straight chili paste with vinegar and was so disgustingly spicy that you could not even detect the flavor of lobster. I ordered the sashimi sampler (said 7 pieces) for 18.00. Yikes that's high but when my plate came it had six pieces of fish and one limp little pie e of sweet shrimp. The other pieces were not superb quality one being mackerel?? Who puts mackerel and sweet shrimp in a sashimi sampler. Then also put a cooked piece of low quality tuna. Gross to say the least. Then the bill gets slapped on our table. Well we still had not gotten our scallop dynamite roll yet it showed up on our bill. Being over the experience we asked them to remove the charge as we were done and ready to go.... to which we told no you wait it's coming. So it gets brought.. worst presented dynamite roll ever!!! Tempura sticks with crab inside tossed on top of scallops and cRab slop in a pool of red grease. Nope, nope, and more nope. All too pay 100.00 including too. Never again. read more

I have eaten good meals here many times. I have to say our dinner was abysmal, and I don't mean the food. We ordered edamame, sushi, shrimp tempura, fried rice. The sushi came out first, then the edamame, then the miso and salad, then the tempura, and the fried rice. Literally all of our food was brought to our table at the same time. I have never had this kind of service at a Japanese restaurant in my life. Usually you get the miso soup and salad, then edamame when you have eaten the soup and salad, then sushi. Just trying to make room for all of these dishes was a problem, the hot dishes cooled off - really not a good meal although the food was very good. I think our server was very new. After all that food was served, we were basically ignored. No empty plates were cleared, no water refills, nothing. A $75 meal which I won't repeat for a while. read more

The service was poor and the food was quite bland. The bottom quarter of the salad bowl was filled with water. The Miso soup had a nasty taste to it. I took two tastes and didn't finish the rest. My curry had a muddy flavor to it that didn't taste anything like curry. All of my son's sushi was bland. About the only thing I could taste was the siracha. My wife's noodles were alright. We had dinner at Zugoi tonight. We arrived at 6:20 and were seated soon after that. Someone took our drink orders right away. Like many sushi places, there is a sushi order form on the table which I filled out immediately. We ordered California Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. We also ordered the Teriyaki beef dinner to share. The soup and salad come out quickly and were fine but nothing special. The sushi came out promptly and were good, but again not special. I have had much better elsewhere. The problem we had was with the Teriyaki Beef. It was as tough as leather. I thought my first bite was not indicative of the quality of the dish. It only got worse from there. By the time I had my next bite I could taste that terrible flavor of beef that had gone bad. That was it for me. My wife had the same observation. Our waitress came by and asked if we wanted a box for barely touched beef. I politely told her why we couldn't eat it. She offered to get us something else but my stomach wasn't going to tolerate it after the bad beef. They discounted our bill accordingly and we paid and left. There was good and bad. The service was prompt and the food and drinks came out very quickly. Most of what we had was good enough to bring me back again. Unfortunately tough and spoiled beef doesn't cut it. read more

I was running some errands, saw this sushi place and decided to stop by and order for pick up. I had my german shep/Rottweiler by the name of OG Bobby Johnson with me, "Bobby" for short.. naturally he shit in the shrubs. I go inside, grab a bag to pick up and dispose of it. Upon my return i order the tuna poke for myself, sashimi sampler for Bob. And the caramelized yam dessert that's served with ice cream. In regards to the poke, they forgot the white rice. Not sure how you forget that but okay. Bob seemed to like the sashimi, as well as the poke I didn't finish. Later that night I was met with some of the most violent food poisoning I've ever had in my entire life it felt like my guts were being twisted while I was being throat punched by the devils cock. I'm remember laying in bed with my dog completely devoid of energy, tears running down both of our faces thinking this is it, the conclusion to our lives.
