I love this place! I'm Sicilian myself, born and raised, and I am usually very skeptical about Italian restaurants but this place is AMAZING. We tried both their carpaccios and they were amazing! My husband is not a seafood person, but he loved the octopus carpaccio! We both had pizza: Norma for me and Piccantina for him and they were delicious. Real Sicilian pizza! We were lucky that they accommodated a party of 6 plus a baby on a busy Friday night. The pizza oven was broken but the website and staff warned us before we sat. It's unfortunate since the pizza selection on the menu seemed amazing. We had the meat ragu pasta, swordfish appetizer, Caesar salad, and meatball appetizer and everything was truly amazing. The food was some of the best and highest quality Italian. The service was good and we appreciated the plastic cup and lid they gave our 16 month old to avoid spills. We came in as a large group on Friday night and while the new management admitted to still having a few kinks to iron out, we were really impressed by the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere. New, local Sicilian gem! Italo pizza was outstanding. Perfect semolina crust. tomato sauce from local tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella baked in a wood burning oven. Rucola salad with beets with tarragon vinegarette, caponata con pesce spada (AMAZING), eggplant parmigiana, baccala, calamari, mussels (very fresh), topped off with sant'elia (best ricotta cheesecake we have ever had). Last night, we dicovered ZuZZu in Roswell. It is a very small, neighborhood restaurant where the the bread is homemade...the gelato is homemade...the pasta is homemade...the sauce is homemade...you get the idea. It is a hidden gem. And as wonderful as the food was, the service blew us away. Our server was the beautiful Morgan who made sure our every need was met with a smile. But here is the above and beyond part...we forgot an item at the table and the Amazing Grace literally delivered it to our home after the restaurant closed. I mean...who does that? This is the second time that we have been here. Both times we thought that the food was amazing!! Everything is homemade, and you can really taste that it is!! The first time, we had the pizza with anchovies and the chicken parmesan and both were wonderful. This time we had the lasagne and we repeated the chicken parmesan. The servings are very large so we split our dinner with our friends both times. The owner is very friendly and came to our table each time and was very welcoming. Our waiter James was a real character, lively and amazing in choosing wine and suggesting which food to order. He also split the dinner for us, making it so much easier. If I were to complain about anything, it is noisy. But all in all, we had a lovely time both times and will give it 5 stars! read more

My husband and I just went for dinner for our anniversary because a good friend of mine (who is Italian) said it was great. She was right! The food was amazing, but it was the people that made it. My husband had the lasagna and said it was the best he ever had and I had the burrata salad and the pasta with simple tomato basil sauce. I have been to Italy and have been looking for ricotta that tastes the way it did there and I finally found it( it was on top of my pasta dish). We ordered a dessert ,we were also gifted a dessert from the chef , so we got 2! Cannoli and a strawberry tart , both amazing. As I said, the people made the experience. Everyone was so lovely and had so much knowledge about every item on the plate. We will be back to try the pizza for sure! Thank you Everyone for making a memorable experience for us ! What a great find! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat at almost 10:00 and found this on Yelp. I live for Caprese salads and this was one of the best I've had. Also had a Margarita pizza which was excellent. As good as the food was the service was even better. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Recommended to us but with warning to order wine off the menu or ask the price because if you just ask the waiters recommendation you will be buying a $15 glass of wine. The pizza is good but so skimpy. We asked why there were only 3 leaves of basil and 3 strips of tomato on our pizza. It was comical really. We went to ZuZZu the week before Christmas with another family. This is truly a family restaurant any age would enjoy, although our kids are all over 14. The smaller space is intimate, and the owner and staff are all very attentive - but be aware that the owner is Italian, and the style of service is more relaxed than what Americans are accustomed to. We each ordered drinks, which we enjoyed while perusing the menu. My son ordered a wood-fired pizza, which he really thought was delicious. Before that, we ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer which was served with fresh homemade bread. I had rigatoni Siciliana which was fresh and full of balanced flavors. I really could taste each ingredient! The pasta was also perfectly prepared - not too firm, sticky, or rubbery at all - it melted in my mouth. My husband had the chicken parmigiana and said it was the best he has ever eaten. In "short" our family will be returning as often as possible, whenever we are in the mood for Italian! If I could sum up ZuZZu up in 3 phrases I would say, fresh flavors; friendly atmosphere; face time with family and friends. read more

My husband and I went to Zuzzu for the first time Saturday night with another couple. I have never written a review online before, but this place is like no other that I've been to since moving to Atlanta six years ago. The place was very crowded but we had made reservations earlier in the week and we were seated within ten minutes. The place itself is small and cozy. Fresh flowers and candles on the tables and bar. The owner ( who is from Sicily and very charming)) came over to greet us right away. Our server was Danielle she was very knowledgeable about the wine list and menu. We quickly realized that everyone who works there are related and it was so much fun to hear them speaking to each other in Italian. I must say they all were smiling and seemed genuinely happy to have you come to their restaurant. We started with a Ripasso wine Danielle brought us olive oil and crusty Sicilian bread that they make there which was fantastic. We first ordered the Tagliere (wonderful) and the Fresh Clam appetizer. The clams were prepared by the owner's wife in the wood burning oven right in front of us and they were AMAZING!!. We then shared two salads the noce which is organic greens with in-house made bronzed pears, gorgonzola cheese and, walnuts with a fabulous balsamic vinaigrette. the other salad was a Ceaser made with delicious white anchovies. and fresh garlic and lemon. On to the main course. My husband and I ordered the Fresh Branzini al Cartoccio the whole fish was stuffed with garlic, lemon slices, spicy fresh red peppers than covered in rock salt and baked in parchment paper, the owner Sal cleaned the fish for us at our table .the fish was cooked to perfection served with a lemon juice and olive oil salmoriglio. My husband and I have not had fish like this since we were in Italy a couple of years ago.Our friends had the Pepate- fresh wild caught mussels from Maine ( they were huge ) in a white wine sauce (delicious!!) and the swordfish - fresh swordfish pan sauteed with a lemon caper sauce (also fantastic). We finished with gelato made by Sal himself which was heavenly!! Zuzzu is a true Sicilian dining experience. No, it is not fast-paced (we were there for two hours) but it is a Sicilian family and you are a guest in their house and they treat you as such. Sit back, relax, enjoy the wine, the incredibly great food, and the Sicilian hospitality. We will be back. read more

Everything I have had so far on the menu, from the eggplant to ceasar salad to fish to pizza and cannoli , was beyond my expectation. ( and they were high ). Salvatore, the owner, makes you feel like you stepped into his home for a personalized home cooked meal. Flowers and candles atop each table and Italian style music bring even more intimacy.
