Pollo with mushrooms artichoke
Shalin P.

We came here for a special occasion dinner. The service was great, and the table bread was very good also. The menu is quite large, and includes pizza and pasta. We ordered two pasta dishes. The entrees were decent, but nothing special. We ordered the gnocchi, which didn't have a great consistency. The chicken with artichokes was good, but it didn't come with the vodka sauce or cheese that was in the description. Portions were also small. For the price, I didn't love the ambiance in there either. I would be willing to try it again, but will order the pizza next time.

We had dinner at Zuzzu for the first time last Tuesday. The owner was so nice and we had a delicious dinner. Atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. If you want a great meal with nice service, free parking and a place where you can hear each other talk, this is it. will definitely go back.

Zuzzu has GREAT PIZZA and PASTA. They also have a nice selection of wine. This is a small restaurant with limited seating. Be sure to make a RESERVATION.

Made reservation via OpenTable. Arrived and were told we were not "on the list." Showed the hostess the CONFIRMATION. Restaurant opened up a "no show" inquiry. WTH?

We went for the first time on a Saturday night and the place really filled up quickly. The restaurant is located just outside the buzz zone of Canton Road and you don't need to pay to park! :-) The lot next the restaurant is very small, but there is plenty of parking right across the street. First I will compliment the food and the service - both were very good. This was a nice surprise - when you walk in the place looks like a pizzeria in the midst of being upgraded. Not a negative, but not what we expected when you review the website. The place is pretty small and the tables are fairly close. Food was priced well; the dish we wanted to try (scallops) was out of stock. While I see the place has been around for a while, a few suggestions - Our table's top was totally busted. Not the usual put a wedge to fix a crooked table, but the table itself was broken. Our server apologized and we were immediately offered a seat at the bar. We didn't want to sit at the bar - we reserved a table - so we decided to stick it out. Apparently the table has been broken for a while too. Fix it, replace it, or get rid of it. Service was good, but food delivery was ridiculously fast. We ordered and had our appetizers in a couple minutes - that is good. Our entrees came out, no joke, a couple minutes later. Again our server apologized, but we each had just had a couple bites of the appetizers and now the table was covered in plates. First time for us, but if you order - order your appetizers and after you are almost finished or finished, order your entrees. This was not enjoyable and we felt rushed and the table was small (and broken). We consolidated plates to make room, but only the server was clearing tables. She was serving most of the place herself, but there were a couple other people walking around just talking to people. It is a small place with small tables - everyone should help and grab empty plates, bottles, glasses as they walk around. I had to ask someone to clear the stack of plates and empty bottle we had on the table for 15 minutes. Our server was just flat out working most of the tables on her own. Last thing is a pet peeve and annoying- credit card surcharge. Build it into your price - almost no one pays cash, so come on. Once I saw the odd numbers on the check I realized what it was and asked to confirm. It is 4% and I'm willing to pay, but nowhere on your menu, website or the check itself (that I could find) does it say there is a surcharge. To me, just an easy way to keep your credit card fee without having to say, for example, a bottle of beer is $6.75 or $7 instead of $6. Not a killer - food was good - but just annoying. We will try again, but reserve a different table and bring cash. :-)

Piccantina Pizza

Heard a lot of great things about this place. minimal parking but the food was worth it! i got to try the house salad with balsamic dressing. They tossed it really well because every single piece had dressing on it. Sour and sweet. the *Piccantina Pizza* was pretty good as well. very fresh ingredients and locally sourced if I'm not mistaken. baked quickly in their pizza oven in plain sight. Staff was great. we broke a plate but they acted like we we not a menace. kudos to yall. Thanks!

Great so I wasn't walking from the parking structure off Alpharetta St. Either is free, but if you don't want to drop a few bucks to tip the valet .... I came in on a Friday evening without a reservation. Chose to sit at the bar. Had a great experience. Chatting with locals as well as the staff and enjoyed a nice meal and a few adult beverages. See photos. Grabbed a salad, some pasta and couldn't pass on the dessert. The Insalata Romana dressing was subdued so for those who don't like bold and zesty - it'll be right up their alley. Not too light though - any lighter and I might have asked for more seasoning. I enjoyed the flavors of the Tagliolini Bolognese. It was hearty, savory and I could see it being a comfort food me if I were a local. I would have liked the pasta to be on the Al dente side but it wasn't mushy to the point that there wasn't any chew. Also enjoyed the dessert. Great way to cap the meal. Really enjoyed the experience there overall. Sitting at the bar, not loud - kinda intimate. Maybe 10 seats. Beer, wine and spirits. Also a happy hour to finish out a work day. I've eaten at a few spots on Canton and I can say that for me, this is another spot I'd recommend and go back to.

They have outdoor dining which seems to have a great atmosphere but it was way too hot to dine outside. We typically love bars but this one was dark and uninviting. No thank you. We sat to the left as you enter the front door. Missing atmosphere-- wouldn't choose to sit here again. Service was impeccable. I couldn't decide what I wanted for a glass of wine and they offered to bring me glasses to sample. I love this-- I saw them offer same service to another table close by. We split the Caesar and they were kind enough to diving between two bowls. The only other place that does this for us is Cibo e Beve. The focaccia was wonderful with large flakes of salt on top and went great with their olive oil. We are truly picky Caesar eaters and this one had freshly shaved Parmesan and obvious homemade croutons. Pasta was fabulous for both of us. Would we dine here again? Definitely not the bar and probably not the dining room, but would come back to dine outdoors. Carrie was our waitress and she was fantastic.

So coming here you're going to have to worry about parking but there's a lot right next door. I think it's like $10 to park but you can also find other lots and if you could find street parking, that'd be great. Remember this is a residential area outside of this little district so you got to be careful where you park at. This place is pretty cool because it has a large space for seating, a really large bar, and plenty of outdoor seats as well. The dining room area is very large and the bar is pretty big but the outside area to me takes the cake. They have chairs and loungers and a fire pit, I think. It's really clutch if it's a really nice day out. The last time I went outside at the bar and ordered a couple of bites. The bartender was super cool, polite, no issue with the service. Garlic knots - so these came and I wasn't actually expecting them but they were good. Here, the last time I was there I wasn't offering any garlic knots so I didn't know that they gave these as an appetizer bread. They came with a good sauce and they were very buttery and glazed with butter and cheese. They weren't as pull-apart tender as I would have liked but they still had a really good flavor to them. Calamari - I ordered the calamari as well. I've actually had it before and it was really good so I went back for it. It comes with a really good marinara sauce that has plenty of chunks of tomato in it. The calamari itself is very good and savory and it comes plentiful. You may not even necessarily eat the sauce because it's pretty seasoned. Cheese sticks - I guess I wouldn't call these cheese sticks because they're more like triangles lol but they are really good. Deep-fried cheese triangles, they didn't miss. It had the typical issues you have when you fry something but at the same time they were good and had a really good cheese pull. I would definitely order these again. They came only in three but they were very nice sized. Overall I had a good experience. Again this is not my first time going but I would actually go back and try food because honestly I've only tried appetizers. I haven't actually tried dinner lol but I've had a really good experience every time I've been.

The atmosphere was nice, and the service was actually better from the trainee than from the woman who said she was training her. The food was just okay. My Grey Goose martini didn't taste like Grey Goose. It tasted like a different, cheaper vodka and went down very rough, even though Grey Goose is usually smooth. The drink was supposed to be sweet and fruity, but it didn't taste good at all. It had an odd, old taste to it. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. It was just okay and didn't really stand out. I've been to Italian restaurants where the pasta tasted extremely fresh and the sauce tasted homemade. I love Italian food, but this spot just wasn't it. My husband didn't like his food either and didn't eat it. He told the waitress who was training that the sauce was a bit overwhelming for the dish. She didn't seem concerned. She told him she was sorry he didn't like it and walked away. She didn't ask if he would like to try something else or offer any other solution. The waitress who was doing the training was very short and acted as if she didn't care throughout most of our meal. We are not in a hurry to go back, especially after feeling like we wasted our time and money.

The price point was way higher than I would expect for a brick oven pizza because I paid $30 for a large, but I'm willing to pay that if it's good Pizza. We walk in and they have our pizza ready at the exact time they told us it would be ready. We decided to just eat in there so we sit down at a table and open up the pizza box and the pizza is basically raw. We pick a piece out and it wasn't even cooked to have the crunchy crispy bottom crust that you would expect from a brick oven pizza. It was completely floppy and all the toppings just poured off. You had to support it with two hands to even take a bite. I walked over and asked the lady if she could put the pizza back in the oven for a couple minutes. She immediately told me no because it was already sliced and that it would just fall apart. I asked her if she could put it on a tray or an oven rack and put it in there. She told me no because then it would just turn black. So I paid $30 for a basically raw pizza. The pepperonis weren't even cooked. They tasted like raw pepperoni does. I took the pizza home and put it in my oven and cooked it at 500° for 15 minutes and it came out with a nice crunchy crust like you would expect. Then the pizza itself was good. But with that lack of customer service and serving raw pizza, I would not recommend this place at all. Really wanted to like this place. Who in their right mind would even cut the pizza when undercooked?

Lots of options for those who love the fishery part of the concept and just as many choices for those that don't. We ordered the bruschetta and enjoyed their take that used fig jam, prosciutto and balsamic glaze instead of the more traditional tomato base. They have house made focaccia that when brought to the table we instantly regretted having ordered the bruschetta, thinking we overdid the bread thing. But we both quickly changed our minds and consumed both with little guilt... I would go back just for the focaccia alone and wish they sold it by the loaf! Pastas are made onsite but they get the gluten free version from a different supplier to avoid risk of cross contamination. Hubby had the wild boar pasta. I had the pork chop. My chop was perfectly grilled and moist. I asked for the marsala sauce on the side since I don't like mushrooms themselves, but enjoy the flavor they can add. The weakest link was the mashed potatoes, served in two round scoops reminiscent of school cafeteria lines. Other than the shape, there was nothing memorable nor particularly flavorful about them. Next time I would try a different side and keep the chop. We didn't save room for dessert this time but will definitely get some next time. And there will definitely be a next time. We opted to sit at the bar which I do NOT recommend if you plan on eating. It is extremely tight seating and the bartenders aren't not trained to serve food or have menu knowledge. The lack of the kitchen staff culinary skills became evident when looking at the menu with many seafood/pasta items being served with one sauce- a goopy cornstarch'ish lemon butter sauce. We wanted to try the scampi appetizer with their house made pasta - sans dairy which meant no lemon butter sauce. That seemed to throw a wrench and there was much back and forth between the BT to the kitchen explaining what that meant aka do not cook the food with butter use olive oil- not so complicated, right? 30 minutes later - despite the kitchen staff not being busy- reminder, we are sitting at the bar and watch the cooks looking at their cellphones instead of working... The small portion of a couple shrimp and scallops arrive. They were panned seared- highly seasoned but tasty. Pasta arrived dry ? Huh? Who serves dry pasta- ugh? I asked for olive oil again which never appeared despite a manager hearing the request. So, moving along, we decided to try the calamari. It came out much faster but the portion was enough for 8-10 people. BT- oh, I forgot to tell you it is such a large portion... Maybe offer a half portion? It was okay- nothing amazing except the quantity. So disappointed- we had high hopes that the vibe matched the food quality.
