We went on Thanksgiving day for the Turkey Dinner. First of all the front desk and waitress was amazing - very attentive but the food Not that good overall. very expensive for you got. The turkey was NOT a fresh roasted turkey that was hand carved...it was more like deli turkey sliced thicker with can gravy on it. very disappointed - mashed potatoes were cold & dry - not creamy and delicious at all - string beans were good and fresh = the soup I didn't care for the taste -not hot but luke warm - the salad was very good - the pumpkin pie was very good except that it came with a tablespoon of whip cream, when asked for more was told that's what it comes with! I went with my family for an early Father's Day dinner. They wouldn't accept reservations for a party of our size. We came at 230 and still had to wait 20 minutes. Obviously the restaurant wasn't full but they probably don't want to overseat at an off time. We started with the calamari and fried artichoke hearts. I had read reviews before that said for the price the calamari was weak. I agree. Not that it was bad but half of it was fried jalapeños. You can't serve a mini portion of calamari and hide it like that. The artichoke hearts were fried ok but it was a low quality artichoke heart. As Alton Brown would say, "a dish is only as good as it's worst ingredient" I got the chicken fried steak. I've had better but I've had worse. Good tender meat. My nephew and I weren't big fans of the bacon gravy. A little gritty and a little too salty. My wife got the salmon. Massively disappointing for the price. She got that end piece of the filet that has a long flat piece of mostly skin so it's at best half of an actual portion. A little shocked it didn't come with a vegetable. Both were served with a large slab of crispy hashbrowns. The Eggs Florentine had perfectly poached eggs atop a spinach covered English muffin. The hollandaise that covered them was delicious too. The omlette was also really good, filled with a nice variety of veggies. The food was good but the service was lacking. Our server was friendly but not very attentive. She did not check back until we were nearly done eating when I finally had to ask for a coffee refill. We were surprised at that because she told us she had been there since early morning and we were nearly the first people there. (We arrived at 9:45). Trendy location but lacks function, identity or anything that would draw me back. I'll explain why. First, We love the Waterfront, and this is a newly opened restaurant. The high back booths in the window look classy. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table (we did not get reservations- you should if you want a table). The bar was actually capable of full service and we could have eaten there but we waited an hour for what I thought would be one of the high back booths. To our disappointment, our table ended up being in an upstairs bar area and was on stools. This is ok, except that our first bar area was more comfortable and we would have just stayed there had we known. My first thought was they were trying to draw younger crowd like neighboring restaurants but the people there (us included) were all middle aged. The "live music" was an older gentleman with an electronic keyboard who played piano tunes. Not piano bar, get the crowd engaged... he played the Charlie Brown theme song, as an example. Say what? On a a Saturday night? Okay then. Second odd thing, upstairs bar, I ordered an old fashioned and they only had low shelf bourbon and didn't have basic essentials for it (no cherries!). My husband ordered a beer. The bartender didn't have taps up there so had to go all the way downstairs to get the pint and carry it back up. Super inefficient. Service was ok. Staff was stressed and we had to ask for items that were forgotten. Onto food. We were hungry and again, hopeful to find something to like. We ordered a number of small plates to try. The Caesar was the best item. It did not have anchovies. The steak bites were way too salty. I couldn't finish them. The bread was just an odd delivery and presentation... it was like they pulled it out of a loaf of Franz. The location and decor is nice but not comparable to its offerings. The food is pretty bland and in every case I can say with confidence I've had better food from Costco. We got a frittata. The egg was overdone on the outside and flavorless. The vegetables on the inside were whole pieces and onion as the only added flavor. After adding shredded cheese and basic ketchup it was edible but not worth the money paid. Even if it was free I wouldn't have finished it. We got a Belgian style waffle that was dark and crunchy on the outside and still soggy/uncooked on the inside It wasn't even hot enough to melt whipped butter. The syrup was good because it wasn't made on site. The Fried Zucchini was the best thing we ordered even if it was almost burnt, at least it had good flavor. Their house sauce was mildly spicy but thin and otherwise lacking flavor. Ranch dressing saved the day. The Chicken Marsala wasn't even interesting enough to rate. Sorry. Service was pleasant. The floor manager was making rounds and checking on everyone. I liked that. We were seated quickly. They only take reservations for larger groups. The cocktails were okay but we made them better by mixing the ones we got with each other. Nothing was fantastic as is. Everything needed a big bump to be enjoyable. Go if you like the location, the atmosphere and the decor. Don't go for the food is all. At least until you've had a few drinks first. Then the flavor won't be as important. Not mad, just expected more for the location and price point. The people were very nice so two out of five stars only for having good location, ambience and service. read more

Phenomenal experience. Went here earlier this week with my fiancé and we loved it. Brought my boys for my son's birthday today and my 19 year old is raving to his friends right now saying how fancy of a place it felt and that the chicken parmigiana was one of the best meals of his life. We've had the fried raviolis (which everyone LOVED), steak bites were good (not a fan of the bell pepper flavor, but well cooked, had garlic Parmesan wings (fantastic) and wagyu burger (my other son said hands down best burger ever). 1st visit to 13 Coins and my review is mixed. The host and server were very nice and friendly. We went for breakfast, but they were out of waffle batter, which was odd. It was 9am. So, we both ordered eggs Benedict. The food was superb though, which I gave an extra star for. However, despite there being very few people in the restaurant while we were there, the service was very slow. Also, the seating in the booth was very odd. When someone sat in the booth next to us, I was bouncing up and down on my seat as he got settled and anytime he got up. It seemed to be the same seat cushion covering both sides. Terrible design. Lastly, the restaurant was really cold. We were sitting by the window, but it felt like freezing cold air was coming up from the side of the booth. Took a while to be able to take my jacket off. Love the vibe of 13 Coins. We set out specifically to sit in the bar area. We arrived just after Happy Hour which is okay we were just happy to get a table. The bar is open seating we grabbed a table easily considering people other people were waiting in line for a table in the dining room. The staff was friendly and super attentive. We ordered a delicious cocktail x2 Kentucky Calling, then perused the bar menu called Owl Bar. The menu was very versatile. We ordered onion rings $10.00ish, Meatballs $10.00ish (3 big ones with sauce and covered in cheese) and Cheese Burger Sliders (3). We were really impressed with the meatballs which were very flavorful and saucy with melted cheese. The sliders were incredible. Thick burger patty cooked medium with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes on a super soft dinner roll. The onion rings were the only con of the whole experience. The order was really small and the flavor was uneventful. The cost was about $11 for 8 smallish onion rings. Next time we will skip the onion rings and go straight for the sliders. Clay Bartkoski, the manager of 13 Coins in Vancouver, WA who refused our whole boxing club service, called the police, and kicked us out of the restaurant simply because we were given the private room without having to pay for it and he didn't like it. Even after we offered to pay for it, he refused to accept that and was argumentative, a show of commitment to his need to assert racial authority. This man had no legal justification for this and despite the fact that we had 3 minor children with us, he gladly refused to serve us. It clearly made him feel BIG. His show of pompous bigotry continued as he also lied to the police by saying we cursed at him, which we did not - a lie he had to make up to hide the real reason he kicked us out and humiliated us was because he is a racist, arrogant and bigoted person (in my opinion) who just couldn't accept serving black people. Got it home, found it painfully obvious they put the fake cheese on it and scraped it off, taking all the onions with it. every crevice still had processed cheese in it. tomatoes were so old and soft they were just a sauce. Id asked for a med well burger. The bun was over 2/3rds of the sandwich. The meat was so overcooked and dry I couldn't finish it. Come on, how do you screw up a hamburger? Indeed, they may as well call it the "We Want More of Your Money" charge, if they wish to be completely forthright. While I appreciate that inflation of supplies and labor costs impacts the bottom line, would it not be easier to simply increase the price of each menu item by 4%? He said "I don't f***ing care, there was also another server nearby and Stephan said he doesn't f***ing care either". Then Stephen proceeded to tell me to "take it outside". I immediately said, why in the world would I "take it outside?" He then started to raise his voice as we walked back towards our group and act like I threatened him and raised his voice in front of the group when I did no such thing. We went on Christmas Day. We were seated upstairs, where the lights are yellow, aside from the giant television. Reminded me of a rec room from the 1970s. One of the servers delivered a drink and handed it to my husband by picking it up by the rim while wearing a moist, ratty band-aid on her finger. She left her phone at the upstairs bar that was closed, so we got to listen to Post Malone's Sunflower while we dined. Oh the food: it was horrible. This is supposedly a steak place, but they don't serve baked potatoes--only french fries or frozen vegetables from a bag. The ounces of filet mignon are not listed on the menu. The menu had changed from the online Christmas menu the week before to something different day of. Filet mignon had cross marks from grilling. I usually have FM with an even browning, not grilled like a ribeye. But whatever, all I care about is a good meal. Except it was $55 before tip and was probably 3 ounces served with those wide starchy steak fries. And it totally sucked. Had zero flavor. It was not seasoned, so I actually had to add salt. The flamboyant host needs to work on his sincerity because he was painfully fake, obnoxious, and irritating by trying to sell us on the upstairs p-vibes 1970s yellow rec room.
