What stood out was the impeccable service provided by the knowledgeable hostess, who effortlessly recited the specials from memory. It was impressive. We'd been told to go to 131 Main several times and finally made it! From the moment you enter, you know you're going to have a great customer service experience. Being greeted at the door and all the way to your table by servers is the ultimate demo of what the meal will be. For starters, we got the Cast Iron Corn Bread and a half order of the Double Dip. That corn bread, I could order that and do a drive by to pick up once a week. Outs a great thing they're in South Park and not on my way to work. It's perfectly balanced with jack, cheddar and green chilies. The Double Dip is the same. Deliciously paired fire roasted pepper dip, guacamole and salsa that is a perfect starter. I wanted the Cobb salad but wanted steak. I was able to sub the chicken out for the Thai steak and it was delicious. A nice sized portion of steak and salad, fresh and crisp, absolutely delicious. My husband got the Prime Rib sandwich and said he would definitely order again. I look forward to visiting again and again, for the corn bread and to try all of the other items on the menu. We celebrated our 34th anniversary with a very enjoyable dinner at 131 Main. Our main server was lovely Jessica, and she was so kind and professional. Our meal was outstanding. You must try the cornbread as a starter. It had an amazing flavor! I had steak medallions (they were large) on a bed of mashed potatoes, and my husband had an enormous pork chop. Our meat selections were cooked perfectly and with so much flavor. Save room for dessert and try the key lime pie. We had a wonderful experience and really liked the restaurant very much. read more

Really really love visiting 131 main. The weight staff are always friendly and great with offering suggestions. There's a crabcake salad that used to be on the menu, but they are still able to make and it was just as good this time as it was a few other times I've had it. There was a 40 min wait but luckily a couple leaving the bar area offered their seats, table was cleaned, and we were greeted immediately! Went here last week for our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We did place a reservation ahead of time and they were super nice and friendly throughout the night, they even got us a table towards the back for a little privacy. The staff went above and beyond. Now, for the fireworks....the food was 20/10. Absolutely delicious. I went with the blackened chicken pasta and it was some of the best pasta I've had in Charlotte! My wife had the filet Migon w/ the crab cake and mash potatoes and it was cooked perfectly, hats off to the chef! We went there for half price wine night on Tuesday, January 13. We ordered their cornbread appetizer, which is one of our favorites. When they brought it out, the honey was so old it had crystallized into sugar. When I pointed out to the waiter, he said he had noticed that as well. If he noticed it, why did he bring it to the table in that condition? I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta dish, and the noodles were so overcooked I ate almost none of it. The waiter asked us if we wanted to box it to take it home. The better question would've been to ask us if the dish was OK in the first place, since I ate almost none of it. We liked the idea of their half-price wine night, but if the food doesn't improve on our next visit this will be a place that we are taking off our list. One of my absolutely favorite spots to grab dinner or lunch. Service is always top notch with a team approach. Never had a bad server! Now for the food, if I had to ding them on anything it would be the app choices, not a very good offering but all other entrees and desserts are just phenomenal. Our family loves 131 Main. The food is reasonably priced, high quality and the service attentive. The place is always busy, in fact, it could be larger as we cannot always get a reservation! The parking could be easier, and it takes some driving to find the large public lot to the left of the restaurant. If you want to get a table be sure to call far in advance. read more

Celebrated my 30th there last night. Service was great, we were sat on time of reservation, the trainee that introduced did great, and the Chase who took over was great (PS: I manage in hospitality and am very judgey, usually reserving yelp reviews for worst of the worst experiences...) Very appreciative of him sending in my little guys food so he could eat early. We love the tuna stack, and cannot go wrong with the filet MR (always cooked right)! This restaurant needs serious improvement. First, the host stand was unprofessional. The hostesses were more focused on chatting with other employees than greeting guests. We arrived early and one of the hosts told us we could sit and wait for our table. As I headed to the bar, a hostess abruptly stopped us and said our table was ready. The lack of communication and proper training at the front of the house was obvious. Once seated, things didn't get any better. A young server asked if we wanted cocktails, but he wasn't familiar with the bourbon selection and seemed extremely inexperienced and socially uncomfortable. Another young server, Cynthia H., spoke to us in a way that felt very immature. She had to go to the bar and write down all the bourbons because she didn't know them either. When we asked about the grilled artichokes, she told us they were seasonal and that several other tables had already asked about them--something the menu or staff should have made clear from the start. The biggest issue came when it was time to pay. We were paying in cash, and Cynthia told us, very matter-of-factly, that they don't take cash. I asked for a manager, and he told us the same thing. My response was simple: either take the cash or comp the meal. At no point did anyone mention this policy before we sat down, and the hostesses should absolutely be informing guests of this upfront. If we had known, we would have left immediately. This restaurant employs too many inexperienced young staff members who don't seem trained in basic service or handling payments. What once was one of my favorite South Park restaurants now feels more like a daycare than a dining experience. With so many great restaurants in the area, there's no reason to put up with this level of service. This place has gone downhill--and unfortunately, it shows. read more

The standard menu is always available amd they have daily specials that the staff will explain to you when you are seated. The staff are very friendly and service is faster than expected with the place being as full as it is. The food is expertly prepared and tastes oh so good. This is my second review of 131 main restaurant once again. It was fabulous. I took my daughter and granddaughter there about a month ago. The food was perfect. The ambience was great and our waiter was terrific. It couldn't have been better by the way the Caesar salad salad is incredible. I had an amazing dining experience at 131 Main in South Park, Charlotte. I enjoyed a delightful Quilt Cabernet while browsing a menu filled with mouthwatering options. I finally settled on the prime rib dip sandwich with shoestring fries and a crunchy side of peanut and ginger coleslaw. It was hands-down the best French dip I've ever had! The peanut and ginger coleslaw was excellent, and even the shoestring fries, which I'm generally not a fan of, were hot, fresh, and irresistible. The sandwich came with a generous portion of au jus. The service was fantastic; the staff displayed friendly and genuine hospitality. There are many similarities to Hillstone Restaurant Group, a.k.a. Houston's, in just about everything 131 Main does. Warm and sophisticated but not pretentious. I opted for the crab cake, Brussels sprouts (daily special), and swapped out my fries for their somehow sinful kale & quinoa salad. Sounds healthy. Looks healthy. Taste so goooood. Must. Order. Trust me. Since I was with a friend, we got the warm chocolate brownie à la mode with nuts for dessert. Oh. Em. Gee. Huge portion. Rich and decadent. Nice place to get food at for lunch! Wide variety on the menu and you can choose something on the lower priced side or higher depending on how you want to dine. I went with a coworker and we got the Green Chile Cornbread with Cheddar cheese. It was delicious, not spicy and very filling. I definitely had leftovers. We also got the cheeseburger which overall was a good burger and a great size. The French fries I was told were really good as well. It was busy when we went but overall quiet. Darker lighting even midday. Service was pretty good although we had to ask for a water refill. I'd recommend it. read more

This restaurant is right across the street from where I'm staying and super convenient to stop in for a quick bite or something to go. I've gotten the top chop salad several times but branched out tonight and got the Thai steak salad. I have to say that while I think there could have been a little more (based on a $28 salad) and sadly it only had 4 small pieces of steak. However, I have to say it may have been one of the best salads I've had. The dressing and textures were amazing as well as the flavors. Lived in Pasadena, CA for five years and frequented a Hillstone Restaurant, Houstons. This menu is very similar so decided to give it a try. It is so much like Houstons. On December 31, 2025, my girlfriend and I dined at 131 Main in South Charlotte. We started our meal with Cast Iron Cornbread and a Wedge Salad, both of which were delicious. As regulars, we usually stick to our favorite dishes. This time, for her entree, my girlfriend chose the Shrimp and Grits, while I decided to try the Blackened Chicken Pasta instead of my usual Cedar Plank Salmon. When my meal arrived, I realized after the first bite that it was too spicy for my taste. I let our server, Sarah, know, and she immediately offered to replace it, suggesting the Cedar Plank Salmon--she had remembered it was my favorite. She placed the order right away. While I waited, Sarah, followed by Christa, asked my girlfriend if she wanted her dish redone so we could eat our entrees together. My girlfriend declined, but we both appreciated their thoughtfulness.
