First impression was not good as the area under our table was very dirty (crumbs) and our table was surrounded by numerous dirty tables waiting to be cleared. We saw someone walking around throughly sanitizing tables and chairs after each guest but still not a good look. Once we got into the food, the Iceberg Salad and French Onion soup starters were fresh and tasty. My Filet "medium" was unfortunately a total bust. First offer was rare to medium rare. We went with a big group and the waitstaff was so amazing. Even though more people kept showing up they were so gracious. Try the sirloin with blue cheese and loaded baked potato that must have been 2 pounds. Started off with the cheese and meat tray and that was very good. Happy Easter! We had brunch this morning at 18 oaks for the holiday. We stayed at the JW for a long Easter weekend and decided on brunch here, it was spot on. Bloody Mary's and Mimosas were included they had a really beautiful dessert display as you walked in including a Bananas Foster station. Prime rib and leg of lamb the prime rib was cooked to Perfection all the accompaniments with it as well as the leg of lamb. On the buffet were cheeses ,fresh chilled shellfish as well as Breads, breakfast breads , breakfast meat items including a lovely ham and some fried Quail that was fantastic as well as salads macaroni and cheese and couscous , vegetables a really fantastic carrot soup. The service was spot-on there was a lovely woman walking around making sure that everybody had what they needed. We loved it and ate looking forward to a return visit. read more

4.7 STARS! Best steak ribeye thus far. We walked in on a Sunday for dinner and were seated right away. There was only two other tables being serviced so I knew we'd get the attention and service expected from a five dollar sign restaurant. The host asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. We were so I joked about 'free drinks' and he replied with "Im sure we can work something out." The water was nasty. It tasted like tap but they served it from a branded bottle. I dont believe it. It was tap...moving on. The first waiter who came out to take our drink order was very young and not so friendly. I tried to joke around with him but he wasnt interested in conversing. Our actual waiter came out to speak about the menu. He was very nice. He took our drink order which included two tequila shots, jack and coke and black and blue berry mojito. The shots came out quick, chilled and where huge. A half glass full of tequila was a nice start. The jack and coke took a long time to come out but was spot on in taste for a first round. That mojito was really good too and so original. The waiter brought out a plate of complimentary homemade beef jerkey and garden grown pickels. This was all very nice in original flavor and freshness. They have an actual garden at their location. We started with their Cesar salad which was crispand moist. The dressing was just enough in quantity. We then ordered a ribeye sided with carrots and a small filet with a loaded baked potato. The food came out within 15 minutes hot. Both steaks had a garlic butter melted on top. This was a great way to keep the steak moist and a way to fill it with flavor with each slice. Its kind of cheating but I made sure to focus on the tenderness and texture. The ribeye was a large cut and was very very tender. The flavor was spot on with a quality ribeye. Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper minus that garlic butter so it wasnt over worked in the kitchen. The filet was similar in tenderness and seasonings. The ribeye steak was five stars and topped Ruth's Chris ribeye in overall flavor, cut, cost and size and trumped Bob's steak house by just a hair. The carrots are one of a kind! Pulled straight from their garden they leave the roots attached which is so cool. The bite packs a rich earthy taste that you only get from super fresh veggies and this was it! By far the best carrots I've ever had so dont believe the hype on Bob's steak house carrot. Ive had both and garden pulled wins! The potato was like it should be; large and loaded. It was soft all the way through. Dessert sucked. The brownie was bland, small and texture was rough. The ice cream was cheap yogurt. Where's the blue bell man! Total meal with two free tequila shots= $248.33 Overall the steak was the best I've had so I'll have to say...enjoy! Ate here again on Valentines and went with their Valentine special. Each coarse came with a special glass of wine catered to each type of food. Ate here while staying at the resort. Great food and atmosphere. The main dishes are just the meat and garnish, no sides come with a main dish. The sides are family style. I had the chicken which had two good sized chicken legs on top a bed of mashed potatoes. My husband had the scallops which came with simply four scallops nothing else. They were amazing. I am giving four stars due to the cost of the scallops and not having a side that is included with the dish. It was $42 for just 4 scallops. Mike the bartender was friendly and suggested a local beer: Weekend Warrior Pale Ale from Karbach Brewing Co. This beer was the high point. It was absolutely delicious! It was also the last time I had any interaction with him. I ordered the beef filet and a side of risotto for dinner.. Cuz when in Texas, ya gotta eat beef. The steak came out Rare (med rare was ordered), and was topped with compound butter. Texture and taste of the steak was good. The risotto was ok at best. It was not very cheesy, and it was too milky. Over all, I would say.. Service was like a tomahawk missile - fire & forget. The food was so-so.. I was having to ask the wait staff for things, when they should know... like empty glasses, no plates for shared appetizers, and no silverware. Considering how much the bill was, these things should come naturally at a five star restaurant. Food was good, but nothing I would go back for. We started with the Chilled Crab & Avocado. We got a good sized portion of crab. It was very fresh tasting. Loved the sauce on it and you can't got wrong with avocado. For my entrée, I had the 8oz Filet Mignon. It was nicely cooked to medium, a light pink inside like I like it. Nice flavor on the outside. Tender, easy to cut. We had the Truffle Cream Corn and Duck-Fat French Fries for sides. Both were yummy. Loved the fries.
