Came here for a girls night! Apparently it was also prom night. We had reservations for 6:30 and did not get seated til a little after 7. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very nice and got to our orders quickly. Food was ok. I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon and it came out very undercooked. No problems.. we got it fixed. My sides were the creamed corn and Brussels sprouts. Which were ok. I think the Brussels sprouts were too drenched in the sauce they use. And the creamed corn was just ok. It was very watered down. I'm used it having a thick consistency. Dessert was amazing though. The pecan pie bread pudding was my favorite! It is packed with nuts. So just FYI. The birthday cake was pretty good. If I had arrived a little later, I probably wouldn't have had anywhere to park. Parking is limited. I specifically visited on a rainy Sunday around 1130-1230 for brunch. I found a dish I love to sample no matter where I'm visiting. I ordered the Mushroom & Grits with blackened shrimp and both types of grits. The mushrooms had a lemony taste to them (I'm asking myself now if they were fresh or not), dish was watery, and the Adluh grit cake didn't have a taste to it at all. I appreciate being able to try them both but I should've stuck with the creamy grits instead. Overall, I think this is a cute spot to gather together with family/friends. read more

Yummy. Service was Excellent. The Waitress served with love. The food was great. We shared a salad and hush puppies as an appetizer. My Mom had the blackened chicken pasta. I had the shrimp and grits. 1/2 blackened chicken, 1/2 shrimp, 1/2 fried grits, 1/2 regular grits. It was delicious. The waitress is the one who asked me if I wanted to do 1/2 and 1/2 with the grits. This is the second time I ate here. I had the country fried steak. Everything was great. It is hard to get a baked potato fully loaded and it be hot all the way through. But, they did it! Service and ambiance were amazing. My table got the Nashville friend chicken (really good) , salmon with mashed potatoes (really good), and then the shrimp and crawfish (not a hit). The shrimp dish allowed you to make it spicier which just felt like it was paprika thrown on top. It was spicy but there wasn't any flavor. Drinks were good and desserts are GENEROUS portions. I may have found a new favorite restaurant for dates and special events. Kaylee provided outstanding, friendly service. We had the Teriyaki Salmon, Meatloaf, and Seafood Risotto. All were excellent. My favorites of the meal were the hushpuppies with honey butter (yum!), teriyaki salmon (a beautiful and fresh pink filet), finished by a serving of some of the best bread pudding anywhere! TIP: the bread pudding has the perfect blend of pecans and sweetness that is complimented perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. read more

I could not hear my companions and we had to shout to be heard at all. The acoustics are just awful. This was in the big room in the middle, When I made the reservation I asked for a table by the front window where it is a little quieter, but apparently they could not accommodate us. I really don't know if I will go back. It was actually quite busy this Monday at 11:30 or so, but we were seated quickly and the server arrived promptly and got our drink orders. Upon returning with our drinks she took our orders. We ordered the Pimento Cheese and Fried Okra, Hush Puppies (double order), and Fried Green Tomatoes for apps. The apps were really good. The pimento cheese was absolutely delicious, however the fried okra was a little greasy but still really good. The hush puppies with honey butter were super tasty! The fried green tomatoes were good, but next time I'd order it without the the chow-chow. I ordered the Acworth Hot Chicken which came with collard greens, pimento cheese grits, and a little serving of corn bread. The collard greens were pretty good, perfectly cooked, and great when paired with the corn bread. The pimento cheese grits were absolutely phenomenal! The chicken breast was delicious. It was juicy, expertly fried, and nicely coated with the hot honey. It was not really all that hot, but rather mildly spiced so most should feel safe ordering it. Lastly, one of my co-workers let me try a slice of her Sloppy Dog. The dog itself was great and grilled to perfection. However, it comes covered with sloppy joe meat. If you're expecting a chili dog experience, this isn't that. The sloppy joe is sweet and a truly different taste than chili. Not bad, just don't expect chili like I did. All in all, I'd definitely come back to try a lot of the other offerings they have. read more

Great service. No wait time. The Venue has a rustic meets modern look. Drinks are strong but good flavor. The actual food was decent but not as fresh and flavorful as I expected. The Sea bass did not taste very fresh which was disappointing because it was listed as the Chef's special. The collard greens were good just needed more salt.The Acworth Hot Chicken was cooked crispy and perfect but was actually not spicy at all, it was a more of a sweet honey flavor. This was my first time trying 1885 Grill Acworth. It was a Tuesday evening and the atmosphere is casual but nice. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and they're served with pimento cheese and a very mild chow chow, rainbow trout and a caesar salad. My only complaint is that the lettuce in the salad was extremely brown. I'm surprised that no one noticed that prior to serving it but overall the meal was great. As the evening progressed the restaurant became a little crowded but I didn't notice anyone waiting. My server (young female) was very nice and attentive. If she was sure of something she would go and ask instead of guessing and misinforming. The restroom was nice and clean. I will definitely return and recommend to others. read more

Our first time there. We decided, 7pm dinner for 5. On a busy Saturday, let's make reservations. We arrived 10 mins before our reservation & unfortunately did not get seated until 720pm. Appetizers were pretty spot on. Calamari was amazing. Entire table loved it. Southern nachos & wings were shared. Unfortunately the main course wasn't as delightful. We had to send back 2 of the 5 meals to be redone. The ribeye was asked for medium & was sent well. The pasta was ask for no Parmesan & unfortunately, was loaded with Parm. Desserts, we asked for 1 Pecan Pie & 1 Blueberry creme brûlée. 2 pecan pies were sent out. Understanding it's a Saturday & they're busy. Went recently on a Tuesday evening around 730p. 30min wait to be seated. Been here several times. Actually had my birthday hosted here a couple of years ago which was fine. The place was loud but not overly so and you can tell it's a local favorite. Each time I've visited, we've always ordered the Shrimp and Crawfish Étouffée. It did not come with enough rice which is weird as that's the cheapest thing you could put in the plate. It was like they just dumped it in there when in the past you'd get a mound of rice. Thought that was odd. It was spicy but not so much that you're panting for water. I m think it'd be great if we didn't have to shell the shrimp but that's neither here nor there. Got the empanadas as an appetizer and it was just ok to me... not enough seasoning/salt. Will pass on it next time. Dessert was a pecan pie bread pudding with a small scoop of ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. It was really sweet... very delicious. I would recommend it but maybe with a bigger scoop of ice cream. read more

And my personal pet peeve, don't leave plates on the table when the customer is done. The food was very tasty. The grilled chicken on my salad was very moist and delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. It was a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some wine. If you're in the area, I would definitely give them a chance. If you like salmon you have to order it here- I had the Chilean salmon today and I was blown away. I rarely say that about food but this was the best salmon I've ever had. It comes cooked how you like it (I got medium). I hadn't been asked that before about salmon but our waiter said they are able to cook it different ways since it's sushi-grade salmon. Good quality clearly. My cousin and I came for lunch and had a good experience. Service was pretty good but our waiter seemed a bit stretched thin. The food is definitely what makes this a 5 star review. Location is convenient, parking is easy, and the ambiance is very nice. I highly recommend coming here. read more

Wonderful neighborhood find. We have been to this location 3 times in as many weeks. I have had a date night for 2, a birthday celebration for about 20 and another date night for 2 couples- everyone of them were GREAT meals with expert service. I could spend a lot of time talking about the food, drinks and exceptional service, but just enjoy the pics. I would suggest making a reservation- it stays pretty busy. Wanted to try a new restaurant with my Dad so we decided to go to Downtown Acworth to try 1885. The restaurant is very nice and clean, as it is only a year old. I ordered the 1885 Burger and my dad ordered the baby back ribs. The burger was honestly great, although a little too salty. The reason I gave the 3 stars was because of the service. I'm usually not critical of the service of restaurants especially now since pretty much everywhere is short staff. But the service here wasn't great. Our waitress didn't really check in on us to refill our waters, when our food arrived we spent about 10 minutes waiting before we could eat because we didn't have any silverware. We weren't asked if we needed condiment until half way into our meal. I've been to other restaurants that were short staffed, but the service was still great. I probably won't come back to 1885 for a while, or if I do I'll order the food to go. Hope this was helpful, You're welcome! read more

We celebrated a birthday at this location tonight. I've been to the location in Kennesaw, which was great! The Acworth location wasn't so great. On a positive note, we had a reservation and our table was ready for us. Most of the food tasted good! My point of this review is to express the disappointment in the salmon portion. It's priced too high for the 1.5" (literally) sliver of grilled salmon! We added shrimp and got 5 for $8. I think the generous portion sizes of the other dishes are great! But I don't recommend the salmon. At. All. The atmosphere isn't worth the price. read more

The experience here was great. Our waitress (Jennifer) was kind and attentive. We sat at the bar where you can see the kitchen staff doing their thing and they delivered. Even one of the cooks asked if all was well with our food. The manager also came to speak to us and he was such a gentleman. Regarding the food, everything was 10/10. The blacked chicken pasta is a staple that you will love. For apps make sure you try the wings with their award winning sauce, they are some of the best!
