I didn't know they have their own parking, so we parked where H-mart customers park as we were going there anyway after our dinner. I believer their parking was valet parking. This place is such a cute date place or for girl's night out. But this review is from our girl's night out. We all ordered the same drink: * Thai Margarita -- I absolutely love this drink! It's refreshing and cooling! As for food, we ordered: * Krazy Fried Rice -- this was so delicious!! It has some burnt crispy rice toppings!! Perfection! We also added shrimp which was extra $3. * Hoanh Thanh -- AKA, chicken dumplings. This was my favourite out of all the things we ordered. Crispy and tasty! I wish they were a little bigger or more dumplings! * Grilled Ocean Scallops -- my first time eating scallops this way, and I loved it! It's got a bit of ocean taste but the calamansi dressing really helped. The food was delicious! Great portions! Love the ambiance. Service on the other hand. It started off okay. The bartender said he will be taking care of us. I asked him when we first came in that we are celebrating a birthday so if he could bring out his 2 best desserts at the end. Well I didn't see him after that. The restaurant got crazy busy (on a Monday). They must've not expected it because we had to flag over random employees to help us throughout the night. Food came out wrong multiple times. I saw the manager walking around when we first came in and she just disappeared when it got busy. The bill was incorrect so we also needed that fixed. Overall it was a hot mess of an evening. I was so disappointed! Let me start off by saying the food was pretty good. Their happy hour selection is also pretty good for the price. We got there around 5:30/5:45p on a Monday night and the restaurant was somewhat busy but by no means packed. The evening started off well with our orders being placed right before happy hour and we got some drinks to start. Then once the food came out, it was wrong. We ordered tofu bao buns but we got pork. One of my gfs at the table is vegan so luckily we checked before we even touched it. Can you imagine if someone was allergic? We of course sent it back. We also got the imperial roll with pork even though the table ordered the veggie one. Our service was horrible. Everyone seemed like they were running around with their heads cut off. We first got seen by the bartender who took our meal and drink orders. As the night progressed we no longer saw him, no one checked on us, we had to keep flagging down random workers to help us, it was just a hot mess. It seems like the service is just really disorganized and even though I counted about 7 servers, no one seemed to be assigned to any section. We didn't get some items we ordered and when the bill came we saw we were charged w things we didn't order. It seemed like everything went wrong except for the taste of the food. I might try to come back if they fix the service but overall it was a very frustrating experience. Also, they don't validate salt parking structure and they have their own valet for $7. This is my review of Sunday happy hour at 1938 Indochine. I went alone and sat at the bar, getting there right when they opened. The bartender was kind and let me try a sample of the clarified mai Thai which was the drink of the week on their happy hour menu. It was too sweet for me so I opted for a ginger old fashioned instead. However, I believe the Mai thai was objectively a good drink despite my personal preferences. The ginger old fashioned was very good. It was mixed with Knob Creek as the base liquor. I ordered the cast iron beef tataki, hamachi crudo, and the lemongrass fries. I was the first person seated for happy hour/dinner service and unsurprisingly my food came out in mere minutes. The steak was on a bed of tasty mushrooms and topped with minced garlic. It was perfectly cooked but was still slightly tougher than it should have been. It was also over salted. The hamachi crudo was delicious, but has too much soy and other sauces on it. It prevented the fish from being the star of the dish, and added to my already over salted palate. Finally the spiced lemongrass fries were a nice blend of crispy, thin, flavorful, and mildly spicy and they were acceptably salty. However, since my palate was already under attack from excess sodium it made the fries less enjoyable than they otherwise would have been. Really enjoyed finally dining at this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience wasn't top notch. Rating more a 3.5, but ... I booked reservations via Yelp link. Easy peasy! I did sign up for Aoki Rewards to accumulate points if I do decide to dine at one of the other Aoki Group restaurants. Disclaimer: My experience may be different from yours. I would imagine this would be an excellent place to meet up with friends for drinks & pupus while chatting & enjoying great company which we saw in the outside seating area. We did see signage on the door upon entering that stated we were allowed a 1.5 hour time limit. Hmm, we did notice the same group we observed outside while we waited for our table was still there upon our departure so idk if staff would have really enforced the time limit or maybe this is only for inside dining. Thank you for the forewarning Janelle O. about the sharp buttons on the booth cushions that you mentioned about two months ago! Evidently, they haven't been repaired as some of the buttons have lost their tops and the somewhat sharp bottoms are still there. Everyone in our group gingerly sat to avoid the broken button bottoms. Enjoyed the tapas style servings so our group could easily share. Hope management will consider using a bit larger plates vs. the small bowls especially if dining as a meal. Haha, yes we are uncouth and ended up using the serving dishes as plates as the real estate for open space on the table was as tight as Hawaii's housing market as the dishes came out quickly. Most of the food was just okay and not memorable in a good way. Definitely would not order the chowder again. It was overly sweet from the maybe the sweetened coconut milk (?) according to one party member who loves & will order chowder if it is on the menu. The chowder was the only item we ordered that I would consider a generous portion size. The 3.5 rating is strictly for the food (could using more tweaking flavor wise) and for our server not coming back to check on us. Btw, whisking by & asking everything good without waiting for a response does not count as checking in on us. We would have ordered more drinks from the bar, but did not have the opportunity to do so. Maybe this is why we were given 2 carafes of chilled water upon being seated. We had to ask the busser who we saw the most of to flag down our waitstaff to request our missing menu items. By the time the forgotten items were delivered, we were pretty much done & waiting for our bill. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and may have caused the higher expectation regarding food & service. The lychee martini is made with vodka and is straight JUICE. I could pound 6 of those in one night!! I walked past this restaurant numerous times but it didn't look that special from the outside. But when I walked in here for dinner one night OMG I thought I was teleported to South East Asia back in the Colonial time. So much attention was paid to the details. The decor is exotic but very welcoming at the same time. Definitely one of my favorites in Hawaii! Ok food. They serve pupu/tapas styles so we ordered a few dishes to share. The menu is quite interesting not something you easily find at other restaurants. To me the food is totally a hit or miss. Dishes I'd recommend: 1) Chicken laap: I love the good mix of meat with vegetables all chopped up and wrapped in a piece of lettuce. It was so crunchy and refreshing! 2) Ribeye and Tripe Salad: for some reasons I found this dish similar to laap maybe because they use similar ingredients and similar textures. But the tripes were very fresh I enjoyed it a lot. And you definitely got the kick from the jalapeños. Just ok: 1) Le Citronelle Fried Chicken: It's bite sized fried chicken. Basically chicken karagee. 2) Banh Mi Sliders: pulled pork with bbq sauce on a Hawaiian roll. Quite underwhelming. Cute name but has nothing to do with banh mi lol 3) Morning Glory Chap Chye: it tasted just like what I made at home the night before. Drinks: I tried the Da Nang mai tai and it was so delicious and strong! They also got Tiger beer and Chang beer woohoo! But Tiger beer has not been in stock according to them. They also have an extensive drink menu and cigar after 9! Come during happy hour 4-6pm it's basically the same food but a few dollars cheaper. I came here for happy hour with friends, so I can only speak on that. The space is pretty cool, with high ceiling and what looks like private mezzanine areas. The outside looks pretty cool place to hang out when it's not raining. We ordered all the happy hour plates. The stand outs are: 1. Ceviche 2. Grilled Scallops 3. Lemongrass Fries The laap and glass noodle shrimp needed sauces because it needed more flavor. Crab cakes were good, but very small, but at the price, I can't complain about that. The old fashion drinks were on the strong side. There is a good selection of whiskeys and there is a lot to try. I would love to come back and try more. Service was attentive and friendly. On a recent night on the town an event I attended was wrapping up. The other half was enjoying a quiet meal alone so I went and joined her; I was happy it ended up being 1938 Indochine, a restaurant we had been wanting to try for a while. Located next to SALT and along Ala Moana, it's easy to find and get to. I was surprised how large it is; they have sidewalk and outdoor seating on both sides of the building, with a large bar and various dining areas inside including tables, booths, private nooks, and upstairs group areas. This place is a cool combination of modern restaurants mixed with historical decor from its namesake Southeast Asia. The name and style is meant to invoke pre-WW2 colonial Indochina, which now includes Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Add to that Thailand, and you get the essential country ingredients of this restaurant. It was so fun sitting outside on a perfect windy Hawaiian evening; the exposed soft lightbulbs make it cozy while the bright lights and colors in the bar welcome you in to explore. I got to try a bunch of her foods; savory and tangy fried rice and other dishes. I ordered a Bia Saigon, a tough one to find locally (the other one on the menu I wanted was out the night we went, I'll have to try again). Our server Tricia was wonderful; super friendly, welcoming, and happy to share the place and story with us. It was a quiet evening and shortly before closing so it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. We look forward to visiting again, next time with the rest of our family. read more

I had much higher expectations for this restaurant... nothing was awful, I just felt for the hype and price point I would have enjoyed my meal a lot more than I did. My gf's man works at Aoki Waikiki and always speaks highly of the restaurant and their foods. Indochine is supposed to be an affiliate or sister company so I guess I put them in a pretty high standard right off the bat. From looking at pics and reading reviews I had so many things in mind that I wanted to try. The tough part about eating with others and possibly sharing is the food needs to meet everyone's standards/preferences. A lot of the foods I was looking into were not halal. My gf doesn't partake in foods containing any pork and there were some kind of pork ingredient in pretty much everything I ordered *tear*. The pork was also not able to be removed from those foods either. So that forced us to order completely separate items. Its a bit awkward that way because I can try her items but she can't try mine... Out of all the foods, I enjoyed the one dish that I thought I wouldn't care for. I don't like bell peppers and this dish was full of them, which is why I thought it'd be my least favorite (not a clue why I still decided to chance it). It was really flavorful, nice and refreshing! Vermicelli, pork, shrimp and lettuce went so well with whatever sauce its all tossed in. I thoroughly enjoyed that dish for sure. The fried rice was ok, but to be fair... Thai fried rice in Maui has ruined fried rice for me forever. No others can compare from here on out. The scallops were my least favorite. Too tiny and covered w cheese, not a good flavor combo in my book. The shooter trio was a nice unique treat. Salad w beef and tofu was nice but probably over priced IMO. Drinks were just ok. Overall, I probably will come back to try a few more things but my expectations will not be so high next time around... would I recommend? Drive on Ala Moana and you'll find this restaurant tucked on the corner near Salt Kakaako. This Tapas style restaurant will make take your taste buds on an Asian Fusion adventure. Step into the entrance and transform into a distressed modern restaurant offering two levels of seating. Request to sit up top and get the views from the booth. When ordering, I highly recommend the bone marrow, pork sliders and the chicken dumplings. The imperial spring rolls weren't anything special but, they did have a nice crunch and did have a flavorful center. Not too oily but definitely flakey. The pork sliders were a little salty to my taste but definitely worthy of a mouthwatering drooling emoji. Chicken dumplings made my list because of the dipping sauce, that Thai chili makes the flavors shine! The bone marrow came with two types of drizzle: pesto and chili. I would have preferred more Thai chili but that's just me. The pesto. Mmmmm the pesto. Again a little salty for me but that's just me. The FRIED rice(emphasizing FRIED bc of the crunchiness) didn't have a bold taste but what made this an adventure was the crunchiness of some of the rice. The shooter trio had me on a trip because I was honestly expecting to get 3 oysters but instead got scallop, tartare and oyster. I personally am not a fan of tartar but was brave enough to try it. Scallops didn't have a sea taste which was great. The oyster on the other hand has a sweet taste that my tastebuds were confused bc I'm used to spicy salty umami flavors. So definitely confused here. 6 orders kept my belly full. I sadly wasn't brave enough to try the frog legs nor was I feeling like a drinking kinda night. Met up with a couple of Yelp buddies for Happy Hour at 1938 Indochine in Kakaako at the corner of Keawe St & Ala Moana Boulevard. Valet parking is available, and there is also metered street parking. The metered street parking stops after 6 pm. 1938 Indochine is bigger than it looks from the outside. Very nice out door tables, interior, bar area, and even dining tables on the 2nd floor. Live music is available after a certain time, but we must have been a little too early for it. Since we met up at 4 pm, we had maximum time to enjoy Happy Hour! Shout-out to Yeeps like the famous Aunty Nadine C, Lyla D, Lora C, Riss P, Mikey H, Kyra K, Rachie P, Iris T, Li Y, and Julie C for giving me a great impression of 1938 before visiting! We ordered a mix of HH and regular items, most everything was shareable tapas-style: HH Chicken Laap; HH Imperial Roll x2; HH Spicy Lemongrass Fries; and HH Blistered Shishito Peppers. The regular items were Oysters on Half Shell and Amang's Green Papaya-Mango Salad. Everything was pretty good, but my favorites were the Shishito peppers (good bite, but not take your head off level of heat) and the Lemongrass fries (tasty and very nice quantity). For me the most enjoyable was the HH Aoki Select Bourbon Flight! I've been a bourbon fan since my first visit to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail over 9 years ago. Being able to sample some exotic single barrel & small craft offerings is my idea of a good time! Good food, drinks, and friends- is there anything better? Friend of mine had booked the upstairs section for a birthday party. There's restrooms and private bar upstairs. It's a plus from having to walk up and down the stairs. They have a special menu if enough people order from it. There's a wide range of whisky for single drinks and bottle purchase. They have a cigar menu and hookah that is only available in certain days of the week. Modern Asian food was delicious. I would recommend getting the hamachi. Great quality fish and ponzu sauce did not over power the fish. Parking is available at valet. Do not park at salt - they do not offer validation. read more

My friends and I have been into the happy hour scene lately and with the recent three-day weekend we jumped at the opportunity to check out 1938 Indochine! The restaurant serves up its own fresh and fancy twist of South East Asian dishes. The atmosphere, food, and service have made this place one of my new favorite happy hour spots! Happy hour runs from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. My friend and I came at the tail end of it, around 5:30 p.m., and were told the last call would be around 5:50 p.m. Our server, Rax, radiated positive energy--he was extremely friendly, provided wonderful recommendations, and was super attentive. He gave us three different sauces explained each one and told us that most of the items on the menu were in the smaller size and meant to be shared. To kick off happy hour, my friend and I shared several items. We had the Glass Noodle Shrimp, Chicken Laap, Spicy Lemongrass Fries, Colonial Crab Cake, and Grilled Ocean Scallops. The Grilled Noodle Shrimp and Chicken Laap were light and refreshing. Both dishes came wrapped in lettuce wraps with the protein and mixed vegetables inside. The Spicy Lemongrass Fries were crispy with a hint of lemongrass that wasn't overbearing--but we couldn't taste the spice. My friend said the scallops were good and we agreed that the crab cakes were alright--soft, small, and gingery. We both thought that the three sauces complemented each dish well, allowing us to add more flavor and spice to our liking. Each item we ordered came out relatively fast which was a plus! Located across SALT in Kaka'ako, 1938 Indochine is a great place to grab drinks and small bites to share with others. The interior decor of the restaurant is fabulous and the outside is laid back yet classy. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and reservations are highly recommended. We were seated outdoors since we didn't have reservations. The only thing was that there were several flies wanting to feast with us. The restaurant offers valet parking for $6.00, but we chose to park on the street. Duuuude the last stall bathroom had its own sink, mirror, and dryer. So random but had to put that out there haha It gave me a little more privacy. Haha Let me get back on track... Our staff members Mikey and Summer were patient with us. They were very friendly and helpful. Summer made sure we ordered enough for all 6 of us to be able to taste everything. Mikey was very down to earth and made sure we were being taken care of. He joked around with us and answered our questions. The owner Kevin Aoki also came by to make sure we were doing okay and asked us how our drinks and food were. He even held a short conversation with us and was able to take a picture with us too. He was very friendly and passionate about his restaurant. We ordered quite a few items we even doubled items because it was good and there was 6 of us. The food was delicious! Our favorite dish was the glass noodle shrimp! There is one dish in particular that we thought could use a recommendation: The Bahn Mi Sliders. We ordered that 2 times because it sounded so good. We just wished with it being called a Bahn Mi that it should have the pickled veggies: Like daikon & carrots and even add a bit cilantro. Also, tone the sauce down a little as it made the taro bread a little on the soggy side. But we loved everything and we pretty much cleared all our dishes! The 1938 Shooter Trio was interesting as I have never had raw beef as a shooter. My friends and I had to decide which ones we wanted as we ordered 2 of them and there was only 2 of each items: Beef, Scallop, Oyster. Must I say we ordered different drinks from mules, martinis, to mai tais, but our favorite was the Royal Refresher! The Royal Refresher was Tito's Vodka, Lime, Mint, either Guava or Blood Orange, Soda. Majority of us enjoyed the Blood Orange Royal Refresher. We really enjoyed the live music of AJ! We clapped, swayed, sang along with him. He sang happy birthday to our friend as well as sang songs that we requested. Last interesting thing was they had what was called like a Cigar after hour or something. We ended up going to the outdoor seating and was able to try a cigar. I've always wanted to try this place so I finally did. It was a friends birthday and we decided to do lunch. The space and ambience are nice but, I think evenings would be magical. It's a beautiful space. As we sat I took in the entire space and upstairs would be the place to be. Service is the only reason I gave this place a 4 star rating. It was attentive and our server explained the dishes well. The dishes we ordered were like tapas serving. We had crab cakes, banh mi sliders, clams and lemongrass fries. Crab cakes came in 4 little bite size pieces. It was ok nothing spectacular. The Banh Mi sliders were actually like a Kalua pig slider. Topped with some relish again nothing spectacular. When I think of Banh Mi that's not what I think of. The fries were....lacking flavor. If your gonna call it Lemongrass I expect it to have at least a hint of that flavor. The clams lacked depth of flavor, I love clams but I did not love these clams. Dessert was ok. Ordered the bread pudding and it was dry. Oh well maybe lunch is not their thing. It'll be awhile before I'll be back but for dinner. I hope your experience and food are better than mine! read more

Tried the imperial roll which was not crispy, soggy and not flavorful. Beef tataki was poor - tough cuts of beef and overcooked. The Sisig was decent. The service was good but the server appeared to never have tried any of their dishes and could not make any recommendations. The water they serve is warm and we have to pour our own. I prefer my water with ice. It was not busy so workers were standing around socializing. The ambiance was nice, it would be a great place to get drunk, if you drink, which I don't. Not coming back because could not find much Vietnamese nor French fare, saw some Filipino and Chinese dishes on the menu though. read more

Came here for Happy Hour (4-6) and I will come back AGAIN and AGAIN. We literally parked in the garage with the intent of going to Moku, but then changed our mind, got back in the car, found some street parking and walked over to Indochine. I like Moku.. I mean, I think I do. But the food is always average and spendy and the HH wine is still expensive. So, we decided to come over to Incochine. $8 house wines were actually really good (we had pinot noir and the sauv blanc) and not some cheap Chard or Merlot! The chicken sate and beef sate were great, the jidori chicken fry was good, just very saucy. We got to sit outside and enjoy the sun, and great food and drinks at a fraction of what it would have cost at Moku HH IMO. I think Moku is out now and Indochine is in for my HH pick in Kaka'ako! read more

I would def come back for the albience, drinks and perhaps to hang and have a cigar but I had to wait until my 2nd trip to 1938 Indochine to write a review just because the food was a little disappointing. the bahn mi is really a kalua pork slider on taro roll?!! the lettuce wraps are good and fresh as well as the crab cakes. but there were def items I ordered that I wouldnt get again on both occasions I visited. If you've travelled to Ho Chi Minh, Manila, Bangkok or other ASEAN Cities that have an old American war era mixed with contemporary modern, this place totally nails it! Awesome and trendy atmosphere, 5 stars for the ambience! This was my first time here, second time for my best buddy to dine in. So our server Ashlyn recommended to try out 3 dishes/pax and share family style. My eye was already interested in trying out 1938's frog legs as this would also be my first. It was just like fried wings! My favorites were the Imperial rolls and Thai Beef Brochette. The only dish I didn't care for was the Banh mi sliders, the flavor wasn't appealing to me, I guess my taste buds weren't pleased. Other than that, all the other dishes were great. As far as drinks, they have a full selection and if it's not on the menu, the bar can easily mix it. If I could just give 6 stars for service from Ashlyn, she deserves it too! She was so awesome! For a Sunday Brunch, it wasn't busy at all, making service by Ashlyn even more personable, attentive, and very engaging. I finally made it to 1938 Indochine, a southeast Asian influenced restaurant by restaurateur, Kevin Aoki. The two story restaurant located in Kakaako is beautifully decorated. We sat in awe taking in all the gorgeous decor around us. Even the booth we sat in reminded me of a gilded bird cage. Per their website, the "restaurant's left side resembles a busy Vietnam street with a massive marble bar and communal table. In contrast, the right showcases a mixture of vintage wooden tables and banquettes decked out in decadent French Colonial style." 1938 Indochine has fabulous cocktails to match the decor. I ordered The Empress - butterfly pea infused aviation gin, elderflower, orgeat and my friend ordered the Orange Smoke - el silencio mezcal, blood orange, lemon. In addition to their cocktails and wines, they offer an extensive list of bourbon and scotch with a large and exclusive selection of whisky available in Hawaii. We ordered the Imperial Roll, Banh Mi Sliders, Spicy Lemongrass fries, and the Hoanh Thanh (pan seared chicken and cabbage dumplings) to share and enjoyed them all. I had a great first time experience and look forward to returning. Live music starts at 6pm daily and you can enjoy Happy Hour from 4pm to 6 pm Monday through Friday. They offer valet parking for $6. On a cool, dry Wednesday evening... Food-got a free mushroom curry since our server recorded correct order of papaya salad which was deliciously refreshing! I'm not a fan of curries in Hawai'i climate.... Seems out of place. Mild spicy and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were a nice starch option. No animal dishes this time. Highly recommend next time. Desserts are worth waiting for ! Local favorite like lumpia and ice cream or coffee float. Service- gracious host on the phone and in person. Due to low volume, we were able to table hop from inside to outside to try it out. Ambiance - Highly recommend dining inside for the literal 1938 vibe scenery which will make you feel like in a different world. I've had take out a few times form 1938 Indochine but never had the opportunity to experience their dine in service so it was about time I give that a try and a review! Food: South East Asian street food done fancy, cuisine with the menu offerings that can match most palettes and wallets. There were three of us and our server guided us through the menu offering suggestions which allowed us to try a number of tasty dishes. The highlights were the Asian Seafood Chowder in rich creamy coconut broth, the Grilled Ocean Scallop which went very well with the cheese topping, and the Krazy Fried Rice. They also offer a decent sized selection of wines, cocktails, beers, and spirits with an extensive whiskey selection featuring their own Aoki Picks from popular distilleries. Service: Our server Jeanie took great care of our table. Beyond offering the menu suggestions, she accommodated several menu alteration requests such as serving the bacon topping on the side, eliminating the pork from the fried rice, and a few others. Atmosphere: Very cool space from the décor shipped in from Vietnam to the vintage motorcycles it is fun just to sit and take it all in. They also have a decent outdoor seating area as well they can accommodate parties of all sizes from intimate to large. Value: Solid value for the quality and atmosphere. Dishes are shareable served tapas style so ordering the appropriate quantity is key. So much looked great we had to really make a conscious effort to not over order! I've heard many great things about 1938 Indochine, so my family and I decided to try it out for Father's Day. Pros: I loved the decor of the restaurant. It was very beautiful! The restaurant had a great atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We really enjoyed some our dishes: The Shooter Trio and the Grilled Ocean Scallops were delicious! We all really enjoyed those. I also liked that they had vegan options. The mushroom curry was flavorful! Cons: To start, we ordered a bottle of Opus One. Unfortunately, the waiter broke the cork in half while opening the bottle and got cork bits in the wine (we were able to pick them out). Some of the dishes were lacking in flavor: Krazy Fried Rice and the Lemongrass Ribs were pretty bland. I was really excited to try the Banh Mi Sliders, but it didn't taste anything remotely close to a banh mi. Lastly, we were really excited to order the bread pudding (one of my dads favorite desserts), but when we were about to order it we were told they sold out. This was weird to me because our reservation was at 5pm (before dinner rush). I really wanted to love this restaurant, but it fell a little flat for me this time. read more

The drinks are good here and the bartenders are interactive with customers that makes the experience good. The ambiance is trendy with artifacts from Indochina. Very sheik looking. That being said, after having dinner elsewhere, we decided to meet some friends at 1938 Indochine for drinks. We also decided to try one dish and a dessert to sample Indochine's food. Glass Noodle Shrimp - 4/5 The glass noodle shrimp came with 4 pieces. The shrimp, fillings, and lettuce leaf was very good. The combination of flavors blended well and was very refreshing. I would order this again. Rice bread pudding - 3.5/5 One of our friends in our party wanted to try this dessert. After everyone tasted the pudding, the average rating was 3.5. It wasn't bad, but there were comments regarding texture not being right, the flavor wasn't spot on as it should be, the pudding wasn't sweet enough, and cream sauce was flat. 1938 Indochine is place to meet for drinks and small meals. It is a trendy place and gets very busy on Fridays and weekends. We will give 1938 Indochine another try sometime in the near future.
