I work ed down the street so I came in here frequently with co-workers. I think overall the quality of the food is pretty consistent. I usually have the #1 for $12 and add a drink and that's plenty (any burger includes fries or onion rings). Service overall is attentive, but sometimes can lag. Today I ordered the grill cheese sandwich with tomato soup, which was a mixed bag - everything was good until I found the mold on my bread. I pointed it out, and I'm not a "freak out" customer, so to compensate they gave me a free drink, so kudos to 25 Degrees for that. Overall I think this is a great concept: high-end hamburgers with drinks, but still a bit rough around the edges. Due to proximity of my office I'll be back as I really do like the ambiance here and the overall food quality (today with the mold was probably an aberration). One last complaint: guys, if you serve sweet potato fries, you have to expect that customers will request ranch dressing for them -- so why charge $1 for it -- come on! It's a little gem nestled in crazy, obnoxious Hollywood. I wandered in here during Happy Hour (on a Saturday, it goes 7 days/week) to get away from the protestors and people dressed up as comic book characters and was very happy (no pun intended) :-) I ordered completely off their happy hour menu and everything was yummy. Over hyped and over priced. Having heard many good things about this place I decided to try it with a fellow burger enthusiast. When we got there the look and feel of the place was outstanding and the bartenders were extremely nice and helpful. After ordering what was a highly suggested burger combo by our bartender we were very eager to try this. We got the fries and onion rings and they were pretty good, but when the burger got to us it was all downhill from there. With all of the flavorful ingredients it should have exploded with flavor, but bite after bite all I could taste was the charred meat (I ordered medium rare but there was no redness to be found) and bland ingredients. And for the price, I could have gone to Carls Jr and a movie and had a better burger with money left over. It is the perfect example of a great idea done wrong. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday evening with a group of seven and had a very pleasant experience. We seated ourselves and a waiter promptly came to our table with menus. When we didn't know what to order for drinks right away she suggested bringing glasses of water for everyone. I have never had this happen at a restaurant. Yes, I would love water! I ordered the vanilla bean milkshake. I was eager to try one of their specialty cocktails or milkshakes but the $12-$14 Hollywood price tags were too rich for my blood. The milkshake was super tasty. I only regret getting it because I was almost too stuffed for my burger, almost. For burger options you can order off their menu or create your own. I opted to create my own veggie burger with swiss and ranch. It was a fab veggie burger. I love the Garden Burger brand but this was different, it managed to be packed with flavor and the bun they used was superb. Definitely worth the price. Liked it. I didn't love it, but that's probably my own fault. I wish there was a better selection of beer. Especially when places like Father's Office and Stout have great burgers AND great beer, I feel like 25 degrees should step it up. As for the burgers, I ordered the #4... my mistake! It's a tuna burger with butter lettuce and chipotle mayo. It was just OK... the burger was definitely on the dry side. With the bun it was like a desert so I took the top part off and ate it open-faced. Also if you can't handle spice then just know that it is kind of spicy. If it wasn't for the chipotle mayo I wouldn't have been able to eat it. I had a bite of my friend's #1 which was really, really good. Lesson learned... never try to be healthy when you're at a burger joint. The burger was cooked perfectly medium and everything on it was perfect too. If I come back then I'm just gonna order this. And you should too. The onion rings were good but greasy. The sweet potato fries were meh - they were overly salty and skinny, so they felt very dry. Service was good. We were staying at the Roosevelt Hotel this week. We (me and my 7 year old twins) spent the afternoon poolside and decided we didn't want to walk far so we walked down the hall to 25 Degrees. We were super glad we did. I wish I had gotten the name of our food server because he was a great guy. Dark hair, tall, lived in the bay area at one point, frequented the same town we live in, anyway, he was nice and treated my kids well. Sometimes you go into places and you can't tell how they will react to 7 year olds, he was good. Our drink order was taken within a few minutes of sitting down and they came out quick. My kids had milkshakes and they said they were the BEST! I had a martini called Parisian Kiss. I will admit that I got this because I loved the name. Come on, anything with Paris in the name... yeh, yeh, I know... Okay, it was DELISH! Grey goose, hints of citrus, fresh strawberries, omigosh! Best martini ever. We sat down and ordered. The kids french fries and my onion rings came out snappy and they were delicious. I have to say, I think those were the best onion rings I have EVER had in my history of eating onion rings. Our burgers came out pretty quickly too and were cooked perfectly! We all devoured our sirloin burgers with English farmhouse cheddar. I added garlic aoli, carmelized onions and avocado. I don't think it is possible to have a better burger in Hollywood. And if there is another place we should try, tell me because lemme tell you, I'm sold on this place. Afterwards we got the cake pops and the kids LOVE LOVE LOVED them. Okay, I liked them too. One thing I really liked about this place was that we didn't feel rushed at all. So I stumbled across this place after a show at the DOLBY theatre across the street. I like! It's a cross between a dark dive bar and gourmet burger diner. The #1 is absolutely delicious= tasty and perfectly cooked meat, yummy cheeses, bacon ( who doesnt live bacon??) and argula; which gives it a nice flavor punch. The only thing I did not like was the bun; dont get me wrong=yes it was tasty, BUT it could have been half the size and still large enough to accompany the other delectable ingredients. They have a bunch of custom drinks and 'adult' milkshakes which look really tasty also. I think they are 24 hours... and if so.. EVEN BETTER!! It was good, and it is AMAZING for late night snacks, but Umami is better if you're going in the day time, and it's only a few blocks away. IMO at least. I didn't really like the parsley(I think) on the fries. It just didn't match the taste of french fries, and it seems like they're using it for more of a garnish than for flavor. Plus side, the burgers were big and tasty, and they came with a build a burger option with tons of unique things to add. My advice, is if you come here, go to town and try something new. If you're going to keep it simple, go someplace else and just get a bar burger or something. read more

The restaurant is small but homey. Hubby and I was able to people-watch from our booth so extra star for that. We ordered the number 1 burger, grilled cheese sandwich and split a plate of onion rings and sweet potatoes fries. They are very generous with their portions. The fries and onion rings are done well- very light and crispy- just the way I like it. The cheese sandwich comes with 2 pieces of thick toasts with TONS of gooey, melty cheese. Yum! I was stuffed by the time I get to hubby's burger. It's very heavy and filling. For me, they have a bit too much sauce. Otherwise I thought it was done pretty well. A bit on the salty side though. I generally try to avoid the hell hole that is Hollywood Blvd, but when I have people visiting from out of town it's the first place they want to go. So, my friends parents were visiting from CT and after an unsuccessful "breakfast" at Papa Beards, I suggested we head over to 25 Degrees. I love this place because it's reasonably priced (for the area), it has that fantastic old Hollywood charm and decor that tourists expect, and the food is damn good. This was the first time I'd had breakfast there and it was AMAZING. Huge portions, very tasty. I had my Eggs Benedict changed to Eggs Florentine and they didn't charge me extra. The hash was unbelievable! It was more like a seasoned potato pancake. Everyone else in my party was equally satisfied with their orders as well. This was the second time I've had Jesse as my waiter. He's kind of amazing. He doesn't hate his job. He isn't bitter, and he genuinely wants you to have a pleasant dining experience. Not a bad burger joint! Came here during lunch (12pm) and it was surprisingly empty considering the thousands of tourists taking pictures with the floor all over Hollywood blvd lol. Parking was a pain in the ass... street parking is an obvious choice for conservative people but sometimes it's just not worth worrying about getting tickets or your meter running out... But from what I heard, valet could range from $6 to $8+ with validation. And Valet is just at the back entrance of the Roosevelt. Anyway, I ordered the #1 Burger combo ($15) with grilled onions, gorgonzola cheese, and added an avocado. Not bad! Pretty big burger with the extra fat bun, but it was perfect since I like food that challenges me ;) Got normal fries which were... normal. Maybe I should have gotten the sweet potato fries everyone talked about.. 0.0 Don't think this is some place I'll be dying to take my friends to or rave about since the parking is a big turn off and the burger was just alright.. I enjoyed a solid traditional American breakfast with a hot cup of herbal tea at 25 Degrees. Convenient to most places in Old Hollywood, 25 Degrees is in the lobby of the historic architectural gem The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. My oatmeal was creamy and delicious, the service was excellent, and when I asked the waiter to take back my bacon and bring me more succulent, less crispy bacon, the waiter eagerly complied. I loved the history and vintage feel to the gently worn leather booths and the energy in the place. Bad service, bad mojitos and rude staff. Being a fan of the Roosevelts library bar.. I expected a decent mojito from their sister restaurant to accompany our burgers (which were the only decent thing we enjoyed by the way). Unfortunately.. We had a couple of the worst mojitos ever which tasted like Icey lemon water with not enough mint or alcohol. My friend and I its commented immediately to eachother as we tasted our drinks.. And we almost laughed because of how bad they were. When we politely asked the staff to taste them and change the drinks.. They acted defensively and rudely.. Questioning us by asking "where are these amazing mojitos that you usually get then?!?". The waiter then proceeded to go to the other end of the bar and tell some other customers of our complaint whilst laughing at the same time. I've not seen that type of rudeness for as long as I can remember. Eventually, the drinks were remade and they still tasted disgusting.. NOTHING like the drinks in the library bar. Finally, the onion rings and fries turned up.. Guess what.. They were freezing cold.. And I mean freezing cold. We paid our bill (the waiter at least took the drinks off the bill) and we left. Showed up about a quarter to midnight, and waited over 20 minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge me. Other potential patrons didn't wail that long before walking out. Upon securing a seat at the bar, my burger order and a water request were taken, and I proceeded to wait another 20 minutes for a water that never came. Others around me received waters with no delay - I patiently waited to see if the staff would figure it out, or ask me if I needed anything... And after almost an hour at this place - I left, dissapointed and hungry --which was for the better I guess. Building your "own" burger with less items than a standard pre/designed costs more, and I have a hard time with that. TLDR: service sucked so bad. This was an ok place to go before a show or movie. They seem a bit disgruntled possibly from dealing with the loads of tourists who are making a one time stop there and some probably dont tip very good. The hamburger was very good but not if you want to hold it. It was a knife and fork kind of burger. You dont want to go to the movie across the street with burger juice stains all over you. Never got a refill on my iced tea. I also got the feeling that the servers figure if you order alcohol youre going to tip more. Not always the case. Man, this is a cool place to be if you are looking for a hungover food while still wanting to sip some of that vino. At first, I had a hard time finding this place. Everyone said it's located in Roosevelt Hotel. Okay, is it inside of the hotel? Which wing is it located? Is it on the second floor? Where exactly is it? After a minor 10 minute walk around the hotel, I was able to find it in ground level first floor, restaurant locating next to the side entrance facing Hollywood Blvd. The place itself does not have any signs. The only reason I was able to find it was the little board with their logo on it. The door also has a logo, but it was not that easy to spot that sign. As everyone pointed out, it was very dark inside as the place was almost candle-light dimmed for the occasion. They have several booth seats with a large counter top for bar seating. You would have mistaken the interior of the place as a lounge bar more so than a burger joint. Two answers to most of the tourist's questions: 1) Why does the place called 25 Degrees? According to the website, the place is name after the difference to the temperature between a medium rare and well done burger. Yeah I knowweird! 2) Why is the place so dark? Again, their website has the answer. According to the designer, they want to convey a playful Bordello meets Burger Bar attitude and show a more Moulin Rouge style diner. Fair enough. Their menu has three preset burgers and a whole list of topping selections where you can customized your own burger. I decided to hedge it and order their #2 which was a crispy prosciutto with a roasted tomato plus buratta cheese and pesto. The beef patty was very thick. I want to say it's about 1/3 lb or more with a gourmet style bun plus roasted beef and cheese. The most unique thing about coming here was that their side orders of fries or onion rings (must purchase it separately) was that they came in a Chinese take out box. When I had my burger doggy-bagged, it was also given a tan colored Chinese food take out box to match the white one that the onion rings was stored. Too bad, no chopsticks was provided. The menu list also contains imported beer, sparkling water, and dry sodas. They do also have bottled soft drinks like coke or root beer. You definitely can order any type of drinks from the bar or from their wine list. The service was actually very nice and attentive enough. There was situation where the server asked nicely of me if I can move one space over so that a couple can sit together in the counter seats. I obliged and I was rewarded with a comp of my drinks. Saved a few bucks with that savings. It's very unusual for a hotel restaurant to have this kind of mixed atmosphere. I think majority of the patrons tends to be out of town guests staying at the hotel or burger connoisseurs who wanted to come here to test out the burgers. Sometimes it get the party crowd, but not during the busy dinner time or lunch time which can be packed. Avoid that time if you can. I have to handed to them on this, I was hesitant about going to pay $12 for a gourmet burger AND at a hotel restaurant. After tasting it, I was rather surprised on how scrumptious it was. The onion rings was awesome too. I might think about building my burger like I did at The Counter in Santa Monica. It's a worthwhile dining experience to check out at the touristy spot at around Highland/Hollywood Blvd area. This place is beyond overrated. I have given this burger 3 strikes, and as they say "YOURE OUT". The last time my friend recommended we eat here, I pleaded "Can we PUHLEEESE go to In & Out instead?". Thankfully, I won and my pocketbook & taste buds both thanked me. That said, the fries are good, really good in fact, nice & crisp with a good amount of salt, and the Cokes are frosty & cold. But, the quality of the MEAT is sub par at best, so after all, what good is a burger without good meat? read more

Since I'm staying at the Roosevelt for a business trip I've had a couple of chances to stagger into 25 Degrees after work. Both times they have made a burger that has knocked my socks off. In fact I can say without a doubt they have made the best burger I've ever had. The meat melts in your mouth, the bun is the perfect cross between soft and crispy, and the toppings are out of this world. Toss in some rather tasty onion rings or fries, and you'll place yourself in burger heaven. Aside from kick'n food, the staff is super friendly, and have made my solitary stay out here much more enjoyable.
