I've visited this establishment twice. Both times it has been very underwhelming in terms of offerings and quality. First I was happy to see a new restaurant open that was not Mexican food in yucca valley. I now wonder how long it will be open. The claim to offer doughnuts and coffee as well as bagels. Yet today on my second trip they still have 0 doughnuts and their bagels selection consists of approximately 6 different types. They do offer coffee yet there medium maybe 6oz seems to be a small when compared with other places. They now offer Pho, I wonder if this is a feeble attempt to draw/keep customers. They added another sign on HWY that says PHO but you have no clue it's for 29 Yum! Doughnuts/coffee/bagels/pastries/bread/cakes etc would be a very welcomed addition to the high desert. And making fresh cafe sandwich's would be a seller. Today I ordered their breakfast began on Asiago cheese bagel with chive cream cheese-I'm not a fan of microwaved bread when I'm paying close to $20 for a sandwich and "med" coffee. Oh and the cream cheese was runny and was most definitely not chive but plain, that it seems was watered down. Now if the owners can get it together a they have a nice cafe atmosphere, improve on sandwich quality and offer more cafe foods, not PHO! After the owners post it shows that they are truly unaware of the customers demands and needs. I'll never go back. I don't think you will be open much longer. Good riddance! We don't need rude and arrogant business owners. I have nothing against PHO, it seems your business has an identity crisis and you're not sure what to do! Bad business! It's the week of the Perseid meteor shower. It's hotter than heck and tourists don't seem to understand it's called Death Valley for a reason. So why in the heck am I eating Pho (soup with brisket)? Because, it's here! I support local businesses (that sell pho). It's actually called "train soup" in Vietnam. Man I wish I was on a train out of this desert today. Still, the pho here in Yucca valley is the kind of breakfast I and millions of others around the world enjoy. If you are not into bagels, gourmet coffees and Pho, this may not be for you. I'm from Joshua Tree by way of Orange County and this has been my favorite breakfast since the fall of Saigon. The lox bagel may seem expensive, but I'd rather eat once and enjoy it rather than twice and not. Our community didn't support the last restaurant in this location (Let's Feast). I understand about that, but if we continue to only support the big fellas, we will lose our mom and pop joints. Walking in, the very first thing I noticed was the odd smell inside. Hard to explain, but the best way I can describe it is like when you walk into a thrift store or antique mall. Stale, musty, and not exactly appetizing. The vibe could have been saved a bit because they did have nice music playing in the background, which made the atmosphere slightly more pleasant, but unfortunately the rest of the experience fell short. The prices here are way too high for what you actually get, and it just doesn't feel like good value at all. I ordered a poke bowl, expecting something fresh, vibrant, and worth the premium. Instead, some of the ingredients were still partially frozen, and it honestly tasted like they had just been run under water to defrost quickly. That immediately made me question the overall freshness and quality, especially since poke is supposed to be raw and super fresh by nature. The texture and flavor were both off enough that I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. At that point, it didn't matter what the music or ambiance was like, I just felt like I wasted my money. Overall, between the strange smell, overpriced menu, and questionable quality of the food, I'd say skip this place. First time coming into this establishment since they opened and honestly let me tell you I am so glad they took over whatever buffet bull crap was going on because these bagels are bomb if you're a local and you have been to frontier or any café around town you know you'll be spending 25+++ on a simple meal and beverage today we came here and spent a total of 30 something, got two meals and two drinks 100% worth it can't wait to see what they're going to be like in a couple months you can tell that they are brand new the place was clean and we got our meal in less than 10 minutes cashier was super sweet so worth the drive!!!!! Our go to before games and great to bring home dinner. The Vietnamese iced coffee is one of the best ever and always a must grab - don't bother with the trash starbies across the way. They have such unique drinks that my kiddos always enjoy. Not sure what to get the ladies/gents working are so helpful with suggestions. Mango with some foam was amazing.... For the price/size criticism the pho ( vegetarian ) was hearty and I got two heaping servings. The spring rolls also delicious get the shrimp & pork highly recommend. Ask for extra sauce its the key = ) Bagels are delicious and the Lox sandwich is my go to but lots of options sure all equally delicious. Like many small businesses here in the area may not be the cheapest but you're supporting a local owner. Always have gotten the best of service and the food is made with care and great ingredients. Disappointing. Walked in and wasn't sure I arrived at the new bagel shop. No fragrance of a bakery and only some plants in a glass case. I looked to the left and a lady was at the coffee bar, but she didn't smile or offer any assistance. A small sign in the back says order here, where you finally see bagels all under plastic wrap and probably not made daily. The food was expensive, but fine.
