A thoroughly enjoyable Italian restaurant in a city with many choices for Italian cuisine. However, this place is a find. The food is excellent, the wine list is exceptional and the ambiance is just perfect. Although I didn't understand the two bars and two dining rooms, I would love to be able to host an event there in the 2nd venue. The staff is friendly and very efficient. They are honest about the size of the portions so you can eat well without spending a lot. My wife and I shared a 1/2 portion and it was more than adequate. Great find. Went on a date with my wife last night to 388 Italian. The place was tastefully decorated and full of groups having a lot of fun. Kyle guided us through the menu since it was our first visit. We started with cocktails as we enjoyed the bread with oil and chopped tomatoes. We split a small salad and 1 full Chicken Parm. Everything was delicious and plenty of it to enjoy for lunch today. The ending was a tasty Lemonchello. We will be back soon. read more

Way too crowded in the prices are ridiculous and the food isn't that great. Don't bother driving so far it's not worth it.

Don't even know where to begin. The restaurant was not super crowded at 6:30 on a Friday night. That should have been my first clue. The food was plain, not good but not terrible. The clams had no seasoning, no salt and no garlic. The sauce was only bread crumbs Or Panko. The chopped was good but the Caesar salad was over dressed with a bland sauce, no salt no lemon. The chicken was tough( really bad) and again under seasoned. The Tiramisu was way too sweet and lacking expresso. It was a very disappointing meal. Lastly if you want to talk to the people that you dine with, good luck. The noise level is through the roof because they play EDM music very loud. Are you kidding me!!! EDM music?? It was awful . The chairs are super uncomfortable , not an enjoyable meal. The service was excellent but I will not be back. read more

Food was excellent and delicious!! Portions were definitely big and perfect for big families. Staff were so so attentive and good. I had to write a review because Jacques was probably the best waiter I have had in any restaurant Ive been too. He had the best aura and personality and was so caring and made sure we were all taken care of. We were a big crowd too and he was amazing. He made sure people with food allergies were happy and taken care of as well. Our family dined here last night and all 7 of us enjoyed everything about this experience. Our waiter, John, was THE BEST!!!! He guided us through the family style menu and as a result, every course was delicious and just the right amount. What was definitely a bonus, was how the staff all worked together to make sure we did not want for anything. Although it was busy, we felt like we were the only ones there being catered to. We went to this restaurant at 9:30pm on 12/31/2024. We were seated promptly and the waiter carefully explained the menu and the large portions that can be shared. The service was excellent and the attention to detail was amazing considering it was a full house. The food was plentiful and delicious. What a dinning experience, food 5 star, arrive with an appetite portions are huge. Exceptional server who guided us with our selections and much to my delight served our food. However the noise level made it near impossible to maintain a conversation across the table, this was compounded by loud contemporary music. We ordered clams, which were super blend; veal parm - dry and tasteless, and some sort of red sauce pasta- which was horrible. All dishes had a white vinegar taste. This is the finest Italian restaurant I've eaten in a long time. It was recommended by a friend with high praise and he was 100% correct. The atmosphere is most enjoyable and the food is amazing. Let's get to the food. Baked Clams, Shrimp oreganeta for starters is fantastic. For a main dish they had a special, Veal chop parmigiana which was enough for 5 people. It was also amazing. Tender as could be but we also had other dishes. Chicken Schiaparelli and shrimp Parmigiana. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. I have to say that 388 is one of the finest Italian restaurants in Florida. Matty and Paul have brought New York style family eating at its finest to South Florida. Our family was always a great fan of their NY restaurants and we were exuberant when the opened on Federal Highway in Boca. The food is always amazing! The chefs are the best, always consistent in quality and taste every time you visit. The Waiter staff are professional as they get. Most with decades of experience! Make sure to try the burnt string beans or broccoli, one of my favorites, also the Shrimp Fra Diavalo. 388 is our go-to restaurant of choice and we highly recommend it! I wish I had better things to say but I don't. Food was good but service was not. Our waiter was extremely inappropriate. I have a 21 year old daughter and 18 year old daughter and he was making passes at them the entire meal. It was very uncomfortable for them. I was this close to punching him in the face. Tried reaching out to the manager a few times and never heard back. We won't be visiting 388 when we return to Boca. Plenty of other good Italian restaurants in the area that don't have sleazy waiters. read more

Had reservation this past Wednesday. Showed up on time. Place was packed with many people waiting. Not much ambiance. They had a private party taking up the whole front of the restaurant. They clearly overbooked. Waited 1/2 hour at the bar. We were served watered down drinks. We left and had a very nice meal, as always, at La Villetta a few blocks away. There is no shortage of good Italian restaurants in the area, but we wanted try this newer place. We went to Mia Rosebud a new place in downtown Boca the prior week and had a great experience. I have been in Boca 25 plus years a Mateo's has been my go to for Italian. My friends recommended to try this place, so we tried it. Waiter John was nice. Ordered the food everything came out except my son's pasta 30 min after we had our dinner. No manger to say I'm sorry and we messed up! Then they brought it out and it was not cooked and hard!
