1 hookah is required for every 2 people. We had a party of 6, so we had to get 3 hookahs even though we really only planned to get 1 which I did not particularly care for. They also played the same type of music the entire time we were there and I was hoping for more of a variety. Other than that my group enjoyed themselves. read more

Was walking around downtown looking for a hookah place. Came across this place and my friend&I decided to take a look. Felt quite welcoming as we were served pretty fast. It was a bit empty, so sort of those gems you come across. I like it because most hookah places get packed and this was just right for me. Got to choose the best seats, which are very comfy by the way. There are TVs. The music wasn't too loud like most places so I could talk to my friend. The service was excellent! Owner/workers checks in often and made sure we were happy. Hookah itself was good, lots of flavor to choose from. My favorites are always the fruity stuff, especially white gummy. I was very intrigued and excited when I read the name "The 40 Thieves"..The name itself was so catchy that I couldn't resist myself going for it. At the same time I was quite skeptical about the place bcz I haven't found really good hookah places in San Jose yet. The moment we entered this place....booomm..wooowwww...it was just wooowwww...very huge spaced lounge..the crowd was good too...the hospitality of the owner and the manager, Kal is just inexplicable. These guys are so humble. The ambience and the music just makes the environment too good for a hookah lover. And all the Indians (specially people who love Punjabi songs), let me tell you..you have got a treat for yourselves..yes..you are damn right...they play Punjabi songs as well..Being a Delhiite, it just reminded me of hookah lounges in Delhi. Five stars because the owner was extremely nice and accommodating. At first, I was disappointed because they didn't have alcohol, but I learned that it's against the law to serve alcohol with hookah in San Jose. As a lawyer in training, I won't hold that against them. It was good vibes and I recommend. I cant recall if they sold snacks or food, but it's something I would recommend. I'm used to D.C.
